His revolution was met with failure and as punishment Zaralus was buried alive in a mass grave with those who followed him. Zaralus was about to pass on himself when, in the darkness and surrounded by grave dirt. Something found him.
Otin, Father of the Dead and god of the unliving reached out to Zaralus and offered him a last chance. A way to bring about an everlasting world peace. Unity through death. Zaralus was reborn as one of the undead and brought back his fallen comrades. Together they stormed the Elven Kingdom of Gildoron and brought it unity through death.
