[EVENT]

Not one, but two, sonic booms sound through the sky, and when the nations look up, they see a marvelous sight- two floating cities, speeding across the sky. They float to the center of the continent, and touch down by each other.

"these are the terms the forest folk would have for peace. this line shall divide our peoples. all the nations to the south on the mainland have proven friends of the elves. we will defend them as we have the dwarves. you will not make hostile actions of them or encroach them. the forests here are of the Folians and the living forest, the rocks and mountains here of the Dwarves and their friends. there are also the fairies in the flying city, and the winged elves in their own. they too are our friends, and you will not wage war on them nor will they wage war on you lest we no longer support them. in exchange we will not encroach north past this line or wage war upon you unless you have broken our peace. these are our terms of peace."

Not helping with the crowding of the Princess's court, some Felion ambassadors would arrive in trading airships from the nearby Principality, who after waiting until a period of peace would approach Princess Zharar in order to discuss matters. Due to the heat of the palace thanks to how it is made primarily out of glass, the Felions would end up having to wear less in order to not get heatstroke.

"Greetings, Princess Zharar, ruler of the faries of the floating city-state of Classá. I am on behalf of the Feldom of Felshore, who wishes to learn more about your knowledge and see to a trade with our own."

When conversing with the dryad, the Herald of Fire found her ornery teaching disconcerting. "You shouldn't? I'm just her assistant: I'm merely saying that you're not performing the motions correctly and risk spreading it onto the foliage if you continue to attempt to do what you're doing to try and control it. Here, let me show you…"

Taking a deep breath, the fire fairy unleashed a jet of fire and caught it with her hands, twirling it into a glowing orb and squashing it with the motion of her hands as though it were clay. "If you want fire to follow your commands, you need to direct it with passion, as opposed to anger. This might sound strange, but fire is capable of expressing emotion like people or trees, and just like how anger tends to make those who experience it act irrationally, it causes a fire to burn out of control as well." Releasing the orb, it near instantly dissipated into nothingness, only the faintest scent of combusted left behind.

"I'm sure you know this, but the particular steps you're attempting to partake in are perhaps the most important: you're attempting to attune yourselves with the flame: it'll imbue you with its abilities, but only if you're willing to trust it. Not just Sameda, but fire as a concept."

"I'm a fire fairy from the distant Henoan Desert, a herald of both fire and the fairy Principality of Clausae: it was a whole continent away, and we have only come over to this strange new land a month or so back after being forced to evacuate from our lands. If you heard any news about a "Flying City", that's us, and we're currently parked beyond the eastern river.

And until very recently, Sameda was busy tending to the city; she's the adviser to not only my leader but also the teacher of the Tower of Fire which informs all fire fairies of how to use their abilities, and oftentimes she disappears at will to perform tasks for other things: we didn't even know she was training yourselves until she brought me here to meet you. She's a very busy lady, but I can try and give you as much information as you need."

The gate into the palace revealed a remarkable amount of activity as all sorts of sentient creatures ventured from large aerobaskets directly dropping off onto palace grounds ferrying passengers back and forth from the west, winged elven guards brandishing bows and arrows ensuring that everything performed smoothly and no conflicts broke out on the palace grounds. The keep itself was in the middle of some form of construction, labourers and workers hauling sections of glass in order to repair a damaged stained glass window from some earlier event. The interior retained its impressive collection and presence, but its central throne room was under repairs as evidently many sections of furniture along with a section of carpet was missing, and the origin of the broken window could be located near the ceiling.

A group of odd cloaked figures passes the ambassadors by followed by a large draconian creature who shouted at them. Princess Zharar's temporary office remained as impressive as the rest of the building, but the Princess herself sat shivering, overwhelmed by the amount of activity going on within the premises.

"Good evening! I'm Princess Zharar, ruler of Sky Oasis and the Principality of Clausae which you're in right now! I hope you've found your stay enjoyable so far in spite of any difficulties you might have encountered. Currently, the Palace is both experiencing a minor renovation after an earlier event as well as hosting a grand diplomatic meeting between the native nations of this world. I don't recall seeing your peoples before: have you met the Principality of Plumage, perhaps?

But before you answer too many questions, please sit down. Are you carnivorous or otherwise incapable of consuming vegetation? I've always got plenty of tea and cakes to offer if you aren't." In truth, the Princess was absolutely sick of the amount of tea she had consumed today and would probably find herself regretting it later in one form or another. Her clean appearance was betrayed by a few sections of hair sticking out, covering parts of her eyes.

The Felions would notice the shaken nature of the Princess as they gave a bow of honour to her before sitting down if seats were available. Even if the palace's throne room wouldn't be the place of the meeting, the more humble office still features some points to be in awe at, the glass shifting the lights that enter the palace into a spectrum of rainbows.

"Indeed we have, they were the ones of long ears and wings, if I happen to be correct." The speaking Felion would soon reach her paw out, moving the topic onto the matter on hand. "As it was said before, we are on behalf of Felshore in order to further understand the construction techniques used to form the flying city of 'Sky Oasis', and the strange material it is made from, able to capture the sun's light and shift it into colours seen and unseen."

"On the topic of capturing," the other ambassadoring Felion butted in, "the Feldom of Felshore would also like to learn about how your kind were able to hold the beasts of the wild within your walls, without having to rid them of life, to put it gently. In return, we can offer our own knowledge to your people, from better means to till the soil of the earth and caring for the crops, to other matters from sailing across the seas upon ships and refining the weapons of one's warriors to uphold a nation's sovereignty."

"…And what is this, cake, and tea, that you speak of?"

Princess Zharar sat with a blank stare. It was rather odd that a new civilization would introduce themselves to her and immediately segway into offers of trading information, though she supposed they had to be fairly trustworthy if the Feathered Principality was willing to allow them aboard their baskets, and attempted to follow up with a smile and answer some of their questions.

"Tea is a drink made from the special herbs we have imported from our home prior to its evacuation; it is a heated beverage, typically drinked when it is at least steaming. Cakes are a type of baked good made from a combination of flour, argentavis eggs, equus butter, spices, and sugar that we serve to guests. The elves tend to like it very much, but apparently a lot of the peoples that visit here are unable to digest it due to not containing any meat.

If it isn't an inconvenience, care to sit down and tell me more about yourselves before we get down to formal business? We still know little about how the world down below functions, and seem to be discovering new civilizations on a weekly basis. I suppose your mention of weapons makes you a martial people?" Zharar rang a glass bell in order to notify a subordinate to bring in a new kettle and cake, hoping that the noise could be made out among the above average amount of activity.

Though better at controlling it than most, Zharar finally found her concentration starting to waver as she began to curl her long hair along her arms, rubbing her eyes and yawning before resuming the conversation.

"Yes… We've had bad experiences with warrior cultures before. But I'm sure you're just fine if Princess Aithlin let you into her borders; her people have suffered the worst of it. The ability to build mountains sounds rather impressive, and I'd love to see one myself one day. If I might ask Ambassador, what is your opinion on aesthetics?" After a few minutes later, a new cake arrived to be cut alongside a brass tea kettle, the former stylized to look like a burning torch. "I hope you find this as pleasant as the last group of visitors. Tell me how hot you want your tea." On script, the fairy princess conjured a flame to heat the tea apparatus from room temperature.

"As for year earlier query on the construction of this city: the truth is, this city, while inhabited by us, was constructed as a joint effort in the old world including both our fellow principality living in the world down below, and— other allies which couldn't make it with us. It is built of glass, which is the result of melting sand they way you would metal: evidently, at least one other nation in this world knows of its construction and are arguably more adapt at shaping it than us, as a major secondary component of this city's structure are the bronze beams which support its towers. Like the branches of a tree supporting leaves, its the bronze that allows us to build high and thin while remaining strong, and it's been very necessary to build tall when all our land is limited to what we can set afloat!" Serving herself, Princess Zharar pretended to sip from her teacup.

"Those creatures you see roaming the fields are Equus, or Horses for those who can't pronounce "Equus". They're taken care of by the forest fairies who live among us whose special affinity is animal care. They feed them, give them water, and make sure that they don't feel too crowded or are unhealthy. Horses are probably the #1 consumers of water in the Oasis, and we've built several cisterns to drain water into cool places for them to drink."

[New & Exciting]: The fairies of Classa are excited to learn and discover new things in this strange new land, but they have a bad case of collective ADD. Researching new technologies is easier, yet improving upon old ones bores them. With jungle herbs, they can ignore this penalty, but this consumes a herb per action.

[Burning]: Classa's fairies draw their energy from flame- while near burning fires, they are stronger, but they are weaker than normal at other times.

Earlier in the day, the Princess had a major discussion with the sfims of Jepsilp over their various needs as well as ways the Principality could help them grow as a civilization, and in spite of their simplistic way of living, the fire fairies would fine their tools to be deceptively sophisticated and worth improving upon. Today was a Great day for the Society. Thanks to the efforts of some of the best Monkey minds, they had learned how to harness steam power from coal without releasing noxious gas into the atmosphere. Soot and smoke were now filtered into a system that collected it into barrels which could be safely deposited for further purification later. Eco-Friendly Steam was the way of the future!

With Eco-Friendly Agriculture and Eco-Safe Steam, the Society was set to become not only advanced but also harmonious with nature, where all monkeys belong.

>>38076

A monkey visits the Folians, their neighbors to the West. They stay on the edge of the forest border, not entering until they are given a response.

"Greetings Folians! We are your neighbors to the east, a civilization of intelligent primates and we call ourselves the Society. We've known of your existence for some time, but we weren't yet confident we could begin good relations.

But we have worked hard on making ourselves ecologically friendly, a civilization that does not harm nature despite making advancements to its technology. You will find our vast farms of wild and free banana trees, kept safe as our stone buildings rise up above them wherever there are clearings. We have sustainable population methods that ensure we monkeys do not deplete the natural resources around us, but keeping population levels at an appropriate number. We were gifted machines of smoke and fire, and have modified them into Ecologically safe constructs that belch no smoke and no smog into the air. We have done this in the hopes of showing, through actions, that we mean good to nature and thus have no quarrel or qualm with you.

We would like to open relations, such as a trade route, and we have heard rumors of a Fire Spirit of nature in your lands. If such is true, we wish to speak and pay homage to her, that we might learn how to harness natural fire to burn cleanly as primal nature intends."

1. Due to recent successes by the technological faction in developing Eco-Friendly techniques, the Evolutionist faction seems to be appeased.

A new wave of nationalistic pride swells through Parliament. That of combined efforts to advance the sciences without suffering harm to the environment.

Develop Political Unity. We monkeys can excel whenever we try to devise technologies that appease both factions.

>>38063

2. "I see you are still alive Dwarves. Jolly good show. As promised, in exchange for access to your technology we will return any improvements we have made on them.

Here, we have devised a means to harness Steam Power without spewing poisons into the air, and develop more ecologically sound farming techniques. I hear rumors you are friends with a nation of naturalists. Are these the Folians, or someone else?

In any case, here. Modify your devices and your methods, and I am sure they will be most pleased. We can show the world that technology does not have to damn nature.

>Trade Eco-Safe Steam and Eco-Friendly Ag III to Dwarf Mountain

Buildings: Embassy

3. Let's develop Steel technology. I suspect we may not be the first to develop superior iron forging techniques, but that's no reason for us not to. We have superior assets, our numerous research centers, understanding of science chemistry and mathematical formulas, advanced Tools for forging of metal, and the new eco-friendly steampower to create it in larger amounts than the typical blacksmith.
