Dice rollRolled 15 (1d20)

Name: Conrad Butler

Age: 17

Country of origin: England

Fluff: Born in Kent, England, Conrad was the son of a manservant to a wealthy local lord. Ten years ago, his father was able to convince the lord to make him a page, (most unusual for a lowborn), a boyservant to one of his knights. For seven years, he served his mentor in every capacity, shining and maintaining his armour and weapons, as well as aiding him in day-to day activities. He developed a good work ethic, a keen mind, and a heart given to England. In return, he received an education befitting a nobleman. He was taught to ride, hunt, and fight. At the end of his seven year service to his lord, he was made a squire. His dreams were coming true. No longer would he need to live in poverty (though his father was well off, for a lowborn freeman). He could enjoy the finer things in life. However, he has been known to get into fights with his former peers, still peasants, over trivial matters, moreso than other boys his age. When the Pope called for a Crusade, his master leapt at the chance for glory in service to god, and thanked the Lord that he could get the boy out into the world, instead of stewing in a small Kentish town.

>>21458

Name: Philaretos Photius

Age: 18

Country of origin: Rhomania [Byzantine Greece]

Fluff:

Philaretos is the heir-presumptive of the Photius noble family, that traces its lineage backward to the days of Augustus! …or so the illegible paperwork accepted by the Master of Offices a few generations ago says. His father, Uriel the Gardener, has sent young Philaretos as part of the Roman contingent of the Crusades, to bring glory and wealth to House Photius, and to restore order in the lands of the Empire!

Philaretos isn't that eager. Much like his more stewardship-minded father, he would rather use his talents in administration - penny pinching, some would say - as well as an eye on infrastructure and public works. however, he has trained with the sword, and would be the first member of House Photius since the loss of Syria et Palistinia to join a military adventure.

Philaretos is bethrothed to marry an princess of the Phokas Dynasty. Although they've not been in power for a while, this marriage would bring enormous prestige to House Photius, and is contingent upon Philaretos' conduct during the war. He sees this marriage as a duty to his family, but otherwise doesn't care for a woman he has yet to meet.

Fill this in:

Name: Armin Lowe

Age:20

Country of origin:Germany

Fluff:Armin is the fourth son of a fourth son of a low nobility house. He was able to be recognized at a young age for his swordsmanship and got lucky enough to be picked as Squire for a knight of much higher birth. He has come to the Holy Land with his new Lord hoping to earn a new family name and re-establish himself among the upper crust of the nobility by strength of arms.

Dice rollRolled 15 (1d20)

Name: Gunther Welten

Age: 25

Country of origin: Belgium

Fluff: Some men go to war for faith. For ideals. For freedom. For justice. Family. For county or country. The remainder, often unremarked, go to war for the raw boredom of civilian life. Gunther is of that stripe: a boring person caught in a boring life now caught in the exciting savagery of campaign and war. Every day he smiles as he marches. Every day is a vacation from the boredom. Some day this war is going to end. :(

Name: James MacGillivray

Age: 16

Fluff: Douglas was never the hearty lad that the son of a nobleman was expected to be, but rather was slender-limned and pretty-faced. In order to give him an opportunity to prove his mettle and win some personal glory, his father sent him off to the Holy Land as a squire to a neighboring lord. No, he is not a girl, and he would very much appreciate it if you would stop asking.

>>21458

Name: Wilhelm Blauschild

Age: 16

Country of origin: Holy Roman Empire

Fluff:

Being born a member of the influential Blauschild family Wilhelm spent much of his early life in very comfortable surroundings. At first being a page, then advancing to become squire for one of his father's close personal friends Wilhelm largely attended tourneys tasked with taking care of his master's equipment and horse.

While his father's friend did his best to prepare Wilhelm and his teachings fell on fertile ground for sure none of his martial skills managed to transcend Wilhelm's good looks which continuously drew attention back in the homeland.

Now following his master into the crusade Wilhelm's first true war lies ahead. Certainly not used to the uncomfortable conditions of war his father hopes that the experience will teach Wilhelm some valuable lessons in terms of faith, honor but most of all the importance of peace in the homeland, though evil tongues claim that Wilhelm was sent to Anatolia in order to keep him away from a certain someone.

Dice rollRolled 4 (1d20)

Name: Einar "the Giant" Bjornson

Age: 23

Country of origin: Kingdom of Norway

Fluff: Einar son of Bjorn was born to a small lord in a small fief to a small fortune. These are the only things you can describe of him as such.

So big was Einar born that his mother nearly died giving birth to him. He weighed as much as a sack of grain, with a head fair nearly the size of a watermelon. People came from miles around to see this oversized infant.

Einar's girth would not be limited to his infancy, and by the time he was 12 already dwarfed his father and all men of the realm even whilst upon their steeds, and his penchant for solving many fights in his favor such that he earned the nickname "The Giant."

His size and might served him well as a young man, marking him a prized fighter to be trained for the raid or the shield wall. When King Sigurd I set out on his Crusade, his path turned away from the frigid seas of his homeland, to the hot desert sands of the Holy Land.

Taking a massive roundshield and a warhammer the size of most men, like his father and brothers before him Einar hopes to earn glory and honor eternal in a warriors life and death, and no small share of gold, women, and wine from "the land flowing with milk and honey."

Dice rollRolled 2 (1d20)

Name: Matthew Fores

Age: 19

Country of origin: Holy Roman Empire

Fluff: Second son of a German family, Matthew trained for years with the bow from horseback. An expert marksman on foot or horse, Matthew won a small bit of fame in a tourney held by the Duke of Masovia. His three signature arrows, forest green shafts with swan fletchings, managed to strike the center ring from 400 yards. Not particularly suited for melee combat, due to his short statue, Matthew fights with a short sword and saxe only when absolutely necessary. Otherwise, his bow is his primary weapon. The ability to fire multiple shafts in the span of seconds was engrained through years of practice, each one carrying a man's life in it's steel head.

The call for a renewed crusade struck the young man hard, and with his brother set to inherit what little holdings the family owns, there was nothing to hold Matthew back. Astride his faithful horse Connam, with his bow and wits as armaments, Matthew set off to free the Holy Land.

Age: 24

Country of origin: Venice

Fluff: Member of a proud merchant family that wields much power in Venice. He decided to branch out the family business marveling in the success of Templar Knights, Knights Hospitaler. In order to drag fools on a crusade into his trap of taking all of their "Worldy possessions" in order to fund his "crusading army" and further his families coffers. He founded his own "Order" of Venice Crusaders that attempted to draw funds and men from all corners of the world. While he legitimately dedicates funds to the cause, it is merely for show and he siphons the majority of the funds for proper equipment and building a strong financial base in Venice.
