That "documented fact" WAS the government's fault, that's my point. The UK was a real shitty place to be if you were a working-class married couple in their mid to late 20s with any children at all, living in small 1 - 2 bedroom houses in the early to mid 90s.

That wasn't a bizarre alternative lifestyle (although it has arguably become so since then), it was the norm for decades prior to that point. Thanks to poor economic decisions by the government before and during that period, it was made almost impossible to get by as working-class family without cutting weekly spending beyond what would be considered "comfortable", like having no dinner or electricity for the odd days of the week and things like that.

I'll repeat, these were WORKING parents, my dad worked days, and my mum worked nights, and they still lived like shit through that period.

I won't say they didn't make mistakes (they ended up hating each other and divorcing after all), but it certainly makes me at least a little worried now that we're back with a conservative majority, and I'm currently less prepared for the world than they were; a useless NEET aspie.

It's hard, but not impossible. It's also surprising how many people that you went to school with are still available fro friendships, it may have been years since you've seen them, but that's a good think, youve probably both changed, and there's a lot of initial stuff to talk about in regards to what you've done over the years, you then add them on facebook and find some sort of common connection like a sport, some music or a tv show, talk about that. I think I was the only person here who actually got "Robot" on that quiz a while ago. I did a fair bit of wandering last year, Pennine way and Cornwall and I think I'm going to go back and finish the Pennine way. I tried this, really wouldn't recommend it. Fell out with my parents and they threw me out (called the police to force me out) all I had was my camping gear and about £500 from my over-draft.

Took it all out and took the train to Cardiff and then camped out in the hills for a bit. It gets very boring and lonely, I had books with me to read but after a while you begin to miss civilisation/internet. I lasted about 2 months before I tried going back home.

It's also rather dangerous, I never got mugged or attacked but if you're doing it in the South watch out for gypsies.

This year has been a little different because I've been making an active effort to change things, so I've been going to therapy, sitting in the garden a couple of times and visiting my sister and niece every couple of weeks. But for the previous 7 years or so, usually only once every month or so when my dad picks me up to go to his house for the weekend, and usually when I get there I stay indoors until we drive back home.

Most of what I see is just roads and motorways, but on the odd occasion we end up driving through a town, or going past places I remember as a kid, it's a strange experience.

I'm still sort of awake from last night, had a 3 hour sleep from 5:30 till 8:30 though. I'll probably have dinner soon.

It just got messed up when I was ill, and forcing myself back never works so I'm just gradually going around the clock until it's decent.
