Gold as an industrial metal. Picrel is a gold plated variable geometry cavity from an old analog RF signal generator. The part on the left slides in and out of the heavy gold plated RF cavity (inside and out) changing the size, thus altering the frequency output. The dials on the outside of the original box moved the slider when you selected your frequency of interest. I've since discarded the rest of the unit as it was trashed mostly incomplete, and quite large. I cannot remember the name of the unit, but did look it up online and found a site where someone restored one of them.
A 10oz silver bar is beside it for scale. If you are familiar with SMA connectors, you can see two gold plated ones on the cables.
I believe there is approx 0.35 grams of gold in the old Pentium Pro cpus.

There’s a large-scale supply chain attack in progress: the NPM account of a reputable developer has been compromised. The affected packages have already been downloaded over 1 billion times, meaning the entire JavaScript ecosystem may be at risk.
The malicious payload works by silently swapping crypto addresses on the fly to steal funds.
If you use a hardware wallet, pay attention to every transaction before signing and you're safe.
If you don’t use a hardware wallet, refrain from making any on-chain transactions for now.
It’s still unclear whether the attacker is also stealing seeds from software wallets directly at this stage.

TD Securities on dwindling LBMA silver inventories:
‘In an interview with Kitco News, [Daniel Ghali, Senior Commodity Strategist at TD Securities] said that free-floating stockpiles [of Silver] in the vaults of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) could run dry within seven months.
“If investment demand picks up, as we have seen happen in previous easing cycles, stockpiles could be depleted within four months,” he said. “The drain in global inventories persists amid years of structural deficits, exacerbated by megathemes that should continue to attract capital into precious metal ETFs.”

Closest we have to a "coin" that big is the Canadian 10 oz "Maple Leaves" coin. We have bars, including a 10oz RCM bar, but they aren't legal tender coins.
With a $50 face value, the Canadian government is is implicitly using a 10:1 silver:gold ratio, as the one oz gold Maple is also a $50 face value.

I got mine from Costco online at slightly above spot. I also bought an Royal Canadian Mint 10oz bar from them, also for a very competitive price to generic 10oz bars at the LCS.
It's the only silver we've ever bought online. Most places charge a premium for RCM bars and things. We wouldn't have bought them if there was a stiff premium.
The only things we ever paid a high premium ($10-$20) for was for a couple of silver Krugerrands and one silver Eagle.
I wonder how many people (US & Canada) here slurp from Costco.

Is SLV is the canary in the silver mine?
On Sep 5, the LBMA published it's pathetic, monthly silver stock "report" consisting of a single grand total of vaulted silver in the LBMA vault system. Per their report, and public disclosures from ETFs that vault their silver in the LBMA system, we deduce the supposed free float in the LBMA system at ~4,313 metric tons. However, the LBMA has misreported their vault stock by 3,000 tons in the past and there is some reason to wonder about the veracity of their current reporting (see magical metal mystery linked below).
On Sep 8, the pool of available SLV shares for borrowing fell from 1.6MM to a low of 250K before recovering slightly to 400K. The lease rate has spiked above 5%.
It seems reasonable to conclude that the drawdown in SLV vault stock since Sep 3 is indicative of someone raiding SLV for physical silver. They have raided it to the tune of nearly 300 tons so far. That doesn't happen in a market where physical is readily available

We have several months worth of stored water in 5 gallon carboys and we use colloidal silver to keep the water clean and tasty. Pure reverse osmosis water will grow biofilms and algae, and colloidal silver treatment prevents this. Our colloidal silver is nonionic silver nanoparticles.
>Silver biocide refers to antimicrobial formulations that use silver ions (Ag⁺) or silver-based compounds to kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, and some viruses. We're still not blue after drinking hundreds of gallons of silver treated water over the years.

If it's any consolation, the current price today will be considered the cheapie price in the not too distant future. Sacrifices you make today will eventually pay you back multiples.
A couple of years ago we were buying silver Maples at $34.85CAD. Current price is now over $65CAD. We still buy, but not Maples, just the "low premium" stuff which is still over $60/oz.
Our income has barely gone up since we were buying the $35 Maples, maybe by 5%. We also stack beans and pew pews.
We are 100% confident that neither the USA, nor Canada, nor Europe will cut their government spending and even balance their own budgets, let alone run a surplus and pay off their debts.
They will all devalue their currency, possibly to hyperinflation.

Apparently that includes putting our Alberta oil & gas industry out of business, replacing them with solar panels and wind farms.

The host paints a grim picture of the future of the USA. Political inability to make the structural cuts to entitlements needed to resolve the impending fiscal crisis. Increasing wealth inequality, soft default to cover the baby boomer entitlements, debt will be monetized, fiscal dominance makes it impossible for the Federal Reserve to control inflation. The deficit will continue to grow, the increasing stress will result in political assassinations, a rise in violence between left and right, continued blue state->red state migration, fracturing, coming apart, and what they mean by pain, they mean violence, which will not end until enough baby boomers have died and can no longer protect their entitlements at the ballot box.

I learned a new term today: Giffen Good
>A Giffen good is a unique type of economic product that defies the conventional law of demand, which typically states that as the price of a good increases, demand decreases. Instead, for Giffen goods, an increase in price can lead to an increase in demand, particularly among the poorest segments of society.
Silver is a Giffen good. As the price rises, demand for it increases.

A cup and handle pattern is a classic stock market pattern used in technical analysis that has in the past often been validated by real world price performance. One of the features of the pattern is the breakout rise tends to equal the depth of the cup.
For silver, that breakout price would be approximately $370. A stacker with 1000 oz would be worth $370k.

4chan is the fed honeypot. Infinity chan was killed after the Tarrant (NZ mosque shooting) because they wanted everyone herded into one easy to monitor, and one place to have retard antifa & jeet jannies abusing rules to kick out people they dislike. Qresearch was also on 8chan. It's a chicken and an egg thing, there's huge volume on 4chan, but also trash like IQDelet and they don't have the built in tools like they do here to filter by ID unless you install 4chanx which I won't.
I put more effort on here, more original content and generally treat the posters, nearly all of whom are regulars, as friends. 4chan has a lot of dark triad/schitzo/juvenile types that the jannies seem to ignore. I got banned for "off topic" for an on topic post, but for using a misleading thumbnail pic, picrel.
You can't appeal short bans, and when retarded jannies abuse the ban hammer, the site can go fuck itself. The posters are the ones who actually create value with their content, the site itself is just the infrastructure.
If you've spent any time on /pol/ lately you can see the mentality is approximately a unsocialized 16 year old with a chip on his shoulder. Finding good/usefull content is like looking for grains of wheat in a manure pile.

If people are willing to pay the premium for them because they are nifty precision made super high relief stackable silver, I guess that's their right. I am very pedestrian in my tastes for silver so I have old cruddy looking bars, and only a handful of pieces that would be considered art grade.
The problem with waiting for a sale during a bull market is the sale price next week/month may be the same as the premium price today.

Franklin Mint… They've made so many coins in Ag and CuNi versions that have the same weight and diameter. Even worse, they sometimes made silver-plated or even silver-clad ones in the same format. And there's often no markings to differentiate them at all. At least with this particular coin, the face value changes ($1 for the CuNi).
And of course the sellers, they often don't tell you what the coin really is. They'll post a crappy picture (sometimes even just one side of the coin) and no useful info in the description.
But even if they post a great pic and full details, can it really be trusted? Because one guy was selling sealed proof sets from Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, and they're all sealed. It's like: trust us, we wouldn't sell you the silver-clad versions. Why should I though? You didn't bother to make the coins different enough to tell apart easily. Oh but here's a paper certificate that says they're legit silver… heheh

I don't keep track of how often, but yes I've seen obvious cases where they list CuNi as silver. Pic is one example of such a coin. If it was really silver, then the oval mark to the right of the date would have a 925 printed inside. This one doesn't. And actually this isn't even a coin, it's a medal or medallion, or round (whatever you want to call it). This particular seller has loads of them, and many don't even have mint marks at all. So the way I see it, if they can't get their pictures and description to match, I'm not gonna take the risk to buy those.
I've seen other sellers list coins with different dates on the picture and description. That's a problem if one of the dates is a non-silver version (like US coins after 1964). I had to ask a question like that recently, and now I have to wait for them to reply. The last time I asked a question about the coin weight (in that case that was the factor, rather than date) he only replied several weeks later, and immediately jacked the price up. So then it wasn't a cheapie anymore, and I lost interest. It turns out it was a 925 silver coin, but I couldn't take the risk to buy a 50% silver one and pay huge premium for that. I made a mistake once of assuming that the title/description were canonical and the picture was for illustrative purposes only (because the text is what's actually printed on the invoice). One seller had an 8 euro Portugal coin that was underpriced, but the picture showed a 10 euro Portugal coin. So I bought it thinking it's an under-spot cheapie. But in fact he later told me the picture is the item that's for sale. But I paid for it anyway because the price was still reasonable (roughly the same premium as a 1 oz wiener, for a proof coin minted at around 14k).
This is the listing for that other coin by Pobjoy Mint. He lists it as Franklin Mint and doesn't say what it's made out of:

The only downside I can see is if you tried to sell them to someone who had little or no experience in gold coins, they might be more leery than with a fractional gold US Eagle.
The upside is there is some collector value in addition to the melt value, so to the right customer they would rate a slight premium.

Trump is the most paradoxical President. Somewhat less of the country irredeemably hates him. His supporters have very strong support for him, but every week he alternates between saying/doing things they hate, and then doing things they like and approve of.

As for Trump, you can't ever trust anything he says. It's better to just consider it as random noise. It's only what he's doing that matters, and much of that is bad and subversive, like the operation warpseed (vaxx), big beautiful bill, (which has provisions for shoving AI up everyone's ass) and various underhanded things like pretending to engage Iran in talks while Israel bombs them, and this:

It makes sense, he's calling people in the midst of a small pullback, China is on holiday, people didn't know what the price was going to do, small businesses running on tight margins, etc.
Personally, most of my stacking has been for weight, because when the price more than doubles (as it has for some of my silver) total weight counts more than the difference in haircut between the different silver formats.
When the spot price doubles, would you rather have 80 Eagles or 100 generics, even if you get an extra buck for every Eagle. Multiply that by every purchase and it adds up.

Newer Maples and Britannias have advanced anti-counterfeiting features as well. The Eagle design is attactive, but the underlying tech is definitely dated. The Eagle will always have advantages for the US because it benefits from specific IRS tax rules that may not apply to Maples.

You did everything that could be done, and you did it in the most intelligent way possible.
I've played out multiple scenarios and in the worst case scenarios, (financial/monetary crisis) silver goes up in relative purchasing power 10x+. In the best case scenarios (continued gradual inflation) silver goes up 5x.
I hope you will have some good opportunities to stack more before silver really takes off.

I wonder if they really are back in stock, or if they just moved the out of stock page farther into the ordering process so you have to sign up and commit to buy before being given the news.
Perth Mint out of stock messages weren't the only evidence of higher than normal retail purchases.
Data point. Silver shortages, waiting lists, long lines, premiums rising. Retal inventory at least in some products is getting low.

We're living in formerly high trust societies that are rapidly becomming low trust. The governments also appear to have two tier justice systems. Groom and rape 11 year old girls, get probation. say something nasty about the groomers, straight to jail.
That German girl who was gang raped and received a harsher sentence than her rapists for calling them mean things.
The erodes the fundamental foundations of society and when that happens, economic transaction costs sky rocket. Children cannot safely walk to school, they need to be driven. The humble honor box is another perfect example. Extremely low transaction costs that only work if the vast majority are voluntarily honest.
Change the ethnic demograhics and you not only have to pay a full time store employee, but also have to pay for a full time security guard as well. Now transaction costs are much higher. Multiply that by every single transaction society engages in and the standard of living noticably declines.
Diversity is at least as costly to society as "Net Zero" policies are.

This pic basically answers most of your questions (note: all dates are in dd/mm/yyyy format).
So, I ordered on Sept 3. Then I sent wire transfer on Sept 6, and the seller acknowledged receiving the funds on Sept 9. And that was the last thing I heard from him.
In the ma-shops order pages, they have a button for contacting the seller about that particular order. So that's why I did 2 weeks later, then 3 weeks later, and again today one month later. That's what the service history shows, in reverse-chronological order. But there's only my messages there, no replies. And he doesn't reply to my personal email address either.
The shop is located in Salzburg (Austria), and I'm in France. So we're both in the EU and there's no weird customs to go through.
Most sellers on ma-shops also have their own independent website, and this seller does too (www.briefmarken-strasser.com), but I never went through there, I did everything on the ma-shops site.

It is what it is. I definitely have mixed feelings on nearing the nominal high for silver. We advised the people we care about that we were stacking years ago. They all had liquidity, and in some cases even gave lame answers like "you can't eat gold" back when gold was 1100 Euros/oz.
When people realize it isn't gold and silver going up, it's their fiat money dying, there will be terrible suffering, and I take no joy in bearing the curse of Cassandra. We no longer talk about PMs anymore. We have no desire to incite resentment or envy.

Most people are totally unprepared for what is coming. I hope my frens here have at least 30-60 days worth of food so you don't need to spend your precious shiny on overpriced beans. You don't need to buy weird any "survival" food. Just stock up on canned goods that you already like to eat, along with your favorite dry goods like pasta, instant noodles, Kraft Dinner, crackers, etc. Then just rotate them, buying more as you consume them. If you buy a little more than you eat, the quantity goes up and there's no major cost. If nothing happens, it has cost you nothing, because it's what you like to eat anyway.
>⚡️What you’re really seeing here is the first stage of a global unit-of-account fracture.

Ma-shops seems to be a pretty unique site as they say that they guarantee purchases for authenticity and force the option to make returns on coins that you aren't happy with. I'd imagine, if he needed, he could escalate to the site and they'd basically force the shop to respond if they don't get back to him shortly.

As long as their money is returned, it still sucks they didn't get the great price they were expecting but at least they don't have a terrible loss.
I just hope the seller does the right thing. Mistakes do happen, and I wouldn't hold it against the seller so long as they come through and make good their original deal. If I was in the seller's shoes, I would even add a sweetener (throw in an extra at no charge) by way of apology for the inconvenience.

Yes, saying "I really don't want' it to happen" is completely different from it's not going to happen.
Glenn Beck is a Mormon, and Mormons are the archetypal preppers. It's a strong recommendation of their religion to have at LEAST 3 months of stored food backup. There are stores called "The Bishop's Storehouse" where anyone (non Mormons are usually welcome) can buy long term storage foods for cost, made for church members and are basically dried foods packed in #10 cans with oxygen absorbers and dessicants, and rated for 20-30 years so long as the can stays intact. We bought a case, even though we have our own 30 year shelf life foods.
Mormons are also some of the most well armed demographics that I've met.
>That means its going to happen.

Whatever I can find that seems undervalued. One of my most recent finds was this 925 silver medal for 30 EUR. That was pretty much at spot price when I bought it last week, and they just now shipped it. By the time I get it, it'll be an under-spot cheapies!
I already had similar medals (there's an entire series of them that goes back to 1979), but this particular one was only minted to 1999 pieces.

Silver is coiling like a spring due to temporary liquidity issues combined with a shortage of physical.
>Silver’s falling , but not because new supply showed up.
>What’s really happening is liquidity breaking before inventory does.
>Dealers and funds are being forced to dump paper positions to meet margin calls. Futures are falling faster than spot, so the gap keeps widening even as both drop.
>The link between COMEX and LBMA is jammed — credit’s pulling back and no one’s stepping in to arbitrage.
>It looks like a price crash, but it’s actually a funding squeeze.
>And the irony? This kind of flush only makes the next squeeze worse. When the selling stops and real metal bids return, there’ll be fewer shorts, less liquidity, and no buffer left to contain the move

A 3 ounce Intaglio round from their american ancients line. I wish they'd release a few more of the other coins from the series. These are all limited to 500 and they only release a few for sale at a time. In a couple years this is the only one I've seen up for sale and only one of them has sold through the 500 so far.

I noticed that as well. It carries over across threads. The shift in script is evidence that the shilling is paid, professional and organized. Someone is paying good money to influence public sentiment away from buying silver.
Are the media outlets covering the all time high? Is that not newsworthy, when every new ATH for shitcoin gets breathlessly amplified?
Big money is scared of silver, and for good reason. It reveals fiat weakness.

>Oh I see they've changed the shill script on 4chan.
Another common shill line involves buying copper. other shills were pushing gold. Gold isn't a threat because there's more above ground gold than silver. The bad guys also have control of most of the gold. Copper isn't a threat because it's produced in the tens of millions of tonnes annually, unlike silver which has a production of 850 million OUNCES. 1 metric ton is equal to 32150.7 troy ounces.
Silver scares them.

My inbox for this year only has 237 messages in it. I don't get so many emails that I'd have missed theirs. Today I checked again the spam folder on my ISP's server, and the newest messages in there are from April. So yeah, nothing was sent at all whatsoever. For everything else that I ordered on ma-shops, I always received a shipping notification, and only one time it didn't include a tracking number (but at least I still had a general idea of when to expect the package).

Blistering tweet from Vince Lanci:
>Isabella, let’s strip away the dollar funding abstractions. Forget the debates about whether there were enough dollars, or whether there’s enough transparency in the lease rate mechanism. Let’s call this what it is: a crowded trade that’s finally blowing up in the faces of those who’ve profited from it for thirty years.
>As traders and risk managers in precious metals (people who sit at the intersection of financialization and physical reality) it’s their job to know. It’s their job to remember that limited collateral in a system with unlimited money carries dislocation risk. It carries collateral crisis risk, as Zoltan Pozsar has pointed out. And that risk can only be kicked down the road so many times.
>Financialization works until it doesn’t. It works until someone steps in and says they want the gold or the silver regardless of whether you think they should or not. That’s a real risk. And a risk manager’s job is to see that potential, to understand that someday he won’t be able to kick the can down the road or buy time to get his collateral back.
>The blind spot lies with the people who knew this and kept doing the trade anyway, hoping to be bailed out or for it to fix itself. The blind spot is greed—failing to see the end of the road for a carry trade that’s outlived its logic. The blind spot is the complacency of those who knew and did nothing, because it wasn’t their problem.
>It’s also in the custodians of these markets who dismiss gold and silver as relics of an ancient time. Even if they are relics, they remain the fallback when fiat is distrusted. Treating something monetary like a trinket in your grandmother’s closet worked for a while. But that era is over.
>Neokeynesianism is dead, and with it, the carry trades. Mercantilism has taken its place. And mercantilism says (right or wrong) that there is no future, only spot. The world has become a sumzero game in the mercantilist mind, and the mercantilists are increasingly the ones running it.
>Any bullion trader who didn’t see that deserves to be fired. Any bullion bank manager, strategist, or “expert” who didn’t see it should be fired too. And anyone who did see it and said nothing is a bad trader. Anyone at the regulatory level who saw it and did nothing is worse—they are a traitor to the West and to the effort to preserve our wealth
