h8chan is way different now, it was awesome back during the reign of based hotwheels, then when the Q-crew showed up the quality of discussion suffered but it was still better than 4chan. It was a sad day when shlomo shut this place down in 2019 and we had to reluctantly migrate back to halfchan, but if not for that I never would've met my /pmg/frens. Kinda weird how the wheel turns and we find ourselves back here again.

Anons i failed my drivers license test again
This is the second time now and im fucking pissed
I played sick to stay home this weekl because other wise i had to be away for work but i failed again
I fucking hate being in goymany i payed atleast 5000 euros on it thus far and im fucking sick of it
I hate cars so much i hate how i have to spend thousands of euros on a shitty 10 year old used car and again thousands of euros for an insurance and maintrance
I hate how every fucking city is build arounda cars and youre fucked without one and all the hoopes youi have to jump through to get a license
In every other country getting a license is easy as piss you make a short track and answer a few questions and than you get your license but hre you have toe memorise hundres of questions for a theoretical exam and then do a ride around the city where a single minor mistake means you failed and have to pay up 500 euros again while others just drive like absolute retards and to whatever and maybe get a small fine
This is the most expensive thing i have to pay right now and im sick of it
I cant buy and shinnes because im busy with this fucking shit

Picrel is another coin that sold within minutes. Saw it as it listed. Went to PCGS for comparison pics. Switch back tabs to compare. Already sold. It is getting annoying.

Silver is one of the worst investments you can make. And no, there won't be some miracle that makes it valuable overnight. Also no, it isn't rare. Suppressed? Sure. But no difference really.
Your money in silver could have actually earned you money in other things.
Silverfags are a cult. There is no reasoning in their delusion.

Only a few brief periods in history has the ratio been this high. Silver is an ESSENTIAL element in weapons systems and is often expended in non-recoverable ways. Silver-zinc batteries are still available for recycling on both the moon and mars for anyone who wants to grab them.
Personally, I do appreciate all the work the anti-silver shills are doing, most of us don't have enough yet, so the longer the price stays low, the more we can stack while the silver price is still so low.

One of the things Rick Rule speaks about is that if gold/silver go up several multiples of their current price, it's because something really awful has happened like a market crash, monetary/economic collapse or war. Stackers will be the only ones who may have liquidity. A collector car isn't liquidity, neither is expensive artwork or real estate. Cash may be a rapidly depreciating asset.
Many of our loved ones/family/friends who didn't stack may be in terrible straits, and we won't be able to offer very much help. They chose not to prepare when it was easy and cheap to do so and may suffer terribly because of it. Many of them may have put their money in crypto or buying a house they can barely afford. They may not even have any food stored.

I didn't buy silver just to sell it for fiat, and I don't care about the current price, and I'm actually quite happy when it dips like it did during the Trump tariff market dip, and took the opportunity to buy some.
Gold and silver are the only real money. Silver fundamentals are very sound and I sleep well knowing I have a few pieces and that I've bought it at a historically low price. I also drink colloidal silver every day.

I'm noticing you're not mocking the goldbugs. Is it because the numbers make you look bad? You probably didn't know that silver tends to first lag, then overshoot gold in terms of gains. We've seen it happen in both the 1980 and the 2011 silver runs.
For the silver stackers here, keep an eye on the ratio. When the average Joe realizes that he needs to get some hard money, but cannot afford to buy gold, he will rush to buy silver. The price will skyrocket (including premiums) and that will be your opportunity to trade up some of your silver that you bought at 100:1 or 80:1 silver for gold at a 40:1 (2011) or 20:1 (1980) .
You will effectively have leveraged your money 2x-5x. How will you know when it is time to trade up? Watch the ratio.

There's a net 250 million ounce annual deficit between production and consumption. LBMA and COMEX vault levels keep dropping. Paper silver futures ponzi schemes will suffer the fate of every other ponzi scheme that blew up in the past. Every ponzi looks like it's working until it crashes.
The silver ponzi crash is coming. So is the derivatives market crash. You cannot taper a ponzi.
The cool part about the available 1000 oz good delivery silver bars is that the market cap is only around $25 billion. Like a mountain where the snow conditions are ripe for an avalanche, you cannot predict exactly what will trigger the avalanche, or exactly when it will happen, but you know that nothing can stop what is coming.

Now you're full of baloney. If you bought gold in 1925 @$20.67/oz you did very well. Gold has outperformed the market of the long term. I don't disagree that you would have made more from switching from gold to bonds in the 1980s, and then going back to gold the the late 1990s, but for a buy and hold long term wealth PRESERVATION strategy, gold was a sure thing for the last 100 years.

The geopolitical situation is rapidly deteriorating. People who are on storable life essential meds should strongly consider getting 1-2 years stockpile if they can afford it. Go to Mexico to get it if need be. It would really suck to have to pay ounces of silver tomorrow for meds that only cost a few dollars today.
Juicers should stock up too if it's not already too late.

Yes, I'm very impressed that the Federal reserve can create overheated market bubbles. Time to watch the boomers ride the bear down the trail of tears while gold & silver go up. I notice your chart doesn't show the end date. If you compared the market from 1928 to 2000 it would look favorable for stocks and bad for gold. If you picked 1928 to 2011, it would be the opposite.
If one bought the S&P in 1929, inflation adjusted, you were under water until 1982. If you bought the Nikkei in 1989, you are still under water, inflation adjusted, 36 years later.
I too can cherry pick start and end dates, and unlike with individual stocks, there was zero counterparty risk with physical gold ownership. There is no better long term wealth preservation medium known to man than physical gold.
Most boomers won't live long enough to ride this current market from the last highs, through the coming multi year bear market, throught to the next high. See picrel for the mutidecade break even periods. Some people buy gold and silver for speculation, other people buy them for long term wealth perservation.

No a woman, a feminine representation of a masculine virture. Just as a blindfolded Justice is a female holding scales and a sword. We cherish and protect our females, as we do our children. As we should protect and cherish our virtues.
Just because we love are children and would give our lives to protect them doesn't me we should let them vote or run our country. Same goes for our women.
I would only add that goldbacks are one of the worst ways to STACK gold, but are one of the best ways of SPENDING gold. They are a splendid example of spendable specie in a small value, tamper evident, counterfeit resistant, attractive, reasonably convenient format.

>You're probably better off buying a 1g gold bar.
In my opinion, if you're stacking gold for quantity, buy Eagles, Buffalos or Maples in 1oz. If you're looking for gold specie to spend, Goldbacks are fine. Picrel is what a 1 gram gold Maple looks like. I have one, it's the diameter of a pencil eraser and about 1mm thick. I left it on it's card and it is in a plastic bill holder with a Goldback because I'm afraid of losing track of the little fucker.
Since 1 gram is now over a hundred bucks US, it's the cost of about three Eagles. There is also a proportionately higher premium on fractional gold, the smaller the piece.
The one use case I have to admit for fractional gold Eagles/Sovereigns, etc would be quarter-10th oz. They are small enough to easily conceal, (in a shoe for example) yet have relatively high value. Like in the James Bond movie from Russia with Love, his briefcase had 50 gold (approx 1/4 oz ea.) gold Sovereigns.
One gram is too small to keep track of in my opinion, aside from the combi bars. Obviously, for collectors, buy what makes you feel good. I have a one gram Maple because I wanted one. It's too tiny to apprciate without a magnifier though. A palladium Maple Leaf coin is also completely useless for anything practical, but I want one anyway just to complete my collection.
Just my two cents.

0.5 gram is $50 bucks, a half Goldback note is 1/2000 oz or around $3.00USD. Goldbacks are actually used in daily transactions in Utah and other US States. You can find a list of business on the Goldback website that take Goldbacks.
Goldbacks are counterfeit resistant, tamper evident, and I tested my own Goldbacks nondestructively with an XRF gun and the came back 90+% Au.
They are legal tender in several States, including Utah, and nearly half of the small businesses in Utah will accept them as money for regular transactions. There is an online Goldback calculator to make easy conversions from USD to the current value of the Goldbacks based on current gold spot price.
https://www.goldback.com/calculator/
I will reiterate, Goldbacks are a DUMB way to STACK gold. Buy bullion, or coin at the lowest premiums you can find to do that.
Goldbacks are an excellent way to use SPENDABLE gold. I personally have zero interest in SPENDING gold right now, but I do have a few Goldback notes in different denonminations because they are actually quite beautiful. Photographs do not do them justice.

That's really the biggest problem with these goldbacks. It's kinda like "trust us" unless you have an expensive pro XRF gun. But anyone with a $20 scale can do the specific gravity test on a normal coin or bar. And yeah you have to take the bar out of its essay card, and probably this will raise eyebrows and some people might even call you a neanderthal, but you can do it easily and that's what matters.
So really they only make sense at the really tiny scale where it's not even practical to manufacture a coin or bar at all.

Well there's no windmill, so it doesn't really count for much. What really stands out for me is the high silver content. Their coins really dropped off sharply after 2010.

Trump or someone needs to commission a series of DJT Goldbacks. Trump likes gold, and they could make a whole series of different denominations featuring him. Trump would like it and his supporters would buy them. They'd great collectables. It would be cool to see if they could do a $1000 Goldback denomination.

Do you mean Goldbacks? If so, I would point out that Goldbacks are not for SAVING gold, the premium is to high. They are for SPENDING gold. The smallest denomination of Goldback is the 1/2 Goldback note which contains 1/2000th of a troy oz of gold and has a value of around $3.00USD.
The high premium is a permanent part of the value, so unlike a regular gold coin where you pay a premium to buy and ANOTHER jpremium to sell, the Goldback IS ITSELF money that is used for transactions.
Goldbacks are voluntary legal tender in Utah and several other US States, and more than 25% of small businesses in Utah accept Goldbacks for purchases.
If you want to buy gold, I recoommend coin or bullion. If you want to spend gold on small purchases, Goldbacks are the best way I have seen to do that.

I don't know if hyperinflation is coming, (it might) but I 100% guarantee that the US dollar is deliberately being devalued. They MUST devalue the dollar to escape their debt trap. The USA is paying more than 100% of tax receipts for interest and interest like obligations (medicare/medicaid/pensions/entitlements) and they are finding much of their budget with more borrowing. Very soon the Federal Reserve will begin doing yield curve control, (monetizing/printing money)

Gold isn't going up in price because it is indicating the markets declining faith in the future of fiat currencies. The average life expectency of a world currency (most were gold based) was 94 years. The current iteration of the Federal Reserve Note is 54 years old. (1971)

When BOTH gold and silver go exponential relative to the dollar, everyone will know the $USD is finished. Keeping silver tamped down helps buy the dollar a little more borrowed time.
They're trying to do the same with gold, but every day the London and NY markets tamp down gold, then when the China market opens, they buy the gold back up again, 2nd picrel.

New coins are subjected to a 20% VAT on the dealer's margin. This is a small tax that doesn't even show up on the customer's bill so most people don't even know it exists. Plain rounds and bars are charged a flat 20% VAT on the full amount of the retail price. This does show up on the bill, and of course the price difference is very obvious too. It's simply not worth buying those types of silver here. But there are some kilo bars with a face value on them (e.g. StoneX, Goddess Europa) and those are fine to buy, because they're just considered to be coins for tax purposes.
Last year I heard the EU was going to start imposing full VAT on new legal tender coins too, but I haven't noticed any price difference yet. Maybe it got delayed or something. The Europa Bullion website posted a notice about it and also sent an email to their customers.
Pic was more near/under spot cheapies, in proof form. xD

You're a man among men. Most of my stuff is generic, lowest price/premium I could find. Here in Leaf there is no VAT on pure gold, silver or platinum, whether bullion or coin, but there is VAT on palladium and impure gold, so Krugerrands and UK Sovereigns have tax, as do palladium bars, and even Palladium Maple Leafs.
Still, having ANY metal is far better than having none. We all should also consider stacking beans and bullets (or crossbow bolts, etc) as well.

Platinum is an essential industrial metal that has uses for which no substitutes exist. Much of the platinum used in industry gets consumed and cannot be recovered. It's just a cost of doing business.
In my opinion, platinum is a safe, conservative, but longer term play. Silver is by far the best bang for the short to medium term buck.
I only have a little Pt, I'm mostly in silver, but platinum is a steal compared to gold right now. Pt has been more expensive than gold for most of history. I believe the current price is temporarily low because Russia is dumping Pt/Pd in order to get US dollars.
Although I personally appreciate Pt jewelry for it's mass and durability, I don't wear any jewelry myself. If I was wealthy and wanted an extremely expensive watch, I would go platinum. (I wear a casio)

I didn't see a gold version yet. The silver one I found in the most recent listings on ma-shops. The seller wants 46 euros for it though, but you can probably find it cheaper elsewhere since it's current year.
Pic is from Jan 1, 2024. I got a few more kitties since then, but not the most recent ones. Prices have gone up! I didn't buy the 2024 and 2025 cambodian Lost Tigers coins because they wanted over 40 euros, and that's always been my absolute maximum. I rarely approached it, but now most collector coins are hovering around there. Still, it's hard for me to justify 10+ euros above spot price.

I remember when dealers were OFFERING $12 over spot if you had an unopened monster box of Eagles. Those insane premiums didn't last too long though. It was a combination of silver squeeze, covid shut downs and Biden's first black female head of the US Mint who fucked up production.
I believe she actually managed to lose $60 million one year, which is amazing given they are supposed to hedge their silver purchases, so there is ziero profit or lost from silver price fluctuations, and they charge $2.00 per Eagle in premium to the primary dealers. ($1000/box)

Why would I want to go back to being banned for arbitrary and completely spurious reasons? Why would I want to go back to a board where you have to dig through kilograms of cow dung to find a few grains of wheat? Why would I want to go back to a board where shills, BBC posters, flood the board with seeming impunity?
The slower pace of Jim's board allows for better interaction with high quality posters over the duration of longer threads.
Quality insightful posters on 4chan were driven away by the capricous bans, and decent threads were prematurely run up to the bump limit by paid shills. We all have our threashold limits, and 4chan's bullshit pushed me past mine.

I don't personally know anyone who stacks (in quantity). But there was a french anon who posted his stack pics on /pmg/ a few times. Along with 3 monster boxes of maples and doezens of various kilo coins, there were thousands of 5 Fr semeuse coins and hundreds of hercule coins. The few shops I know about carry the old french demonetized silver and gold coins, even if they don't have much else in stock besides wieners and britannias. But they don't usually have german coins, that's just what I've been buying because I found some good deals on ma-shops. Unfortunately their cheapies stock is pretty much depleted now, so I'm gonna need to find other coins to buy.
Originally I wasn't even going to buy any junk at all, but I did grab some swiss 1 Fr coins when they were on sale, and same with 5 Fr and 10 Fr hercule. But now the price on those is just not good at all, so I'll probably just wait for a dip to buy more tubes of 1 oz coins.
Also unlike those euro german coins, the french ones are mostly low grade .333 silver, and the few ones that actually are .900 are minted in low quantities and have huge premiums. So they're basically just collector coins, not something to stack (unlike the german ones which were minted in the millions).

So anyway he said this is 31800g and the semeuses are 12g each, so that means there's 2650 coins here. At 10.02g of silver content per coin, that's 26.553 kilo of silver content. Unless I did the math wrong, that's possible (I'm gonna need some sleep now).

>/PMG/ is so comfy here compared to 4cuck.
Not needing race shills to bhe bump limit or dodge jannies is nice. PMG is the intersection of pol (real money) with biz (financial planning).
I've learned that so long as the topiic a couple of abstraction layers above perceptual reality, most people will not be able to accurately connect the dots. This is one of the keys to the power behind the Federal Reserve. Most people (intue USA/western countries) treat fiat as a primary, dreaming of big stacks of money.
The people who control the fiat supply, along with the those who have first order access to it, have almost unimaginable advantages and power over the rest of us via the Cantillion effect, and defacto negative interest rate money.
Blackrock was given (loaned) billions by the Federal reserve at a ZERO POINT ONE FIVE percent (0.15%) rate to buy up all of the available houses to keep the real estate market from crashing.
Private equity has access to cheap money that they use to buy up good, viable companies, then strip their assets (bleed them dry) and then unload their dying husks on gullible pension fund managers. This has real world consequences as not only is it a net transfer of wealth from the botttom 90% to the top 10%, it also destroys jobs and livelihoods in the process, but the psychopathic vampires don't care about their victims.
This isn't just about showing off your pretty coins. Your stack may save your life, or offer life changing opportunities when things go south.

I guess he must have meant 31.8 kilos of silver, rather than the total weight of the coins. So that would be 3180 coins, so pretty close to your numbers.
Also in this thread (post No.56433042) he mentions having 3800 of these coins:
https://boards.4channel.org/biz/thread/56427098
But this was a year later, and he probably bought more.
Pic was another coin structure he posted, with a variety of different coins (trying to see how tall he could make each stack without it toppling over). But I think there was also another pic with a big circular tower of just the 5 Fr semeuse coins.

Gold is the gold standard, and is for storing wealth. Silver is the people's money and for helping self. I don't want to go to a farmer's market and have to worry about getting change for one oz of gold.
I also don't want have to worry about hiding, storing and moving 500kg of silver bars/coins.
Gold is for wealth preservation, storage.
Silver is for potential use (and small gifts)
Currently, buying silver is the means to getting more gold via playng the ratio abitrage when the price of silver moons.

We we travel, we bring a few gold maples in case something awful happens and credit cards stop working, yet we need to GTFO. Maples fit in out wallets and go through the airport xray without issue.
Equivalent silver would be four HUNDRED ounces. For travelling light and fast gold makes the most sense. For local commerce with neighbors, silver makes the most sense. They are both money and I love them both.

Saskatchewan has the largest potash (fertilizer) reserves in the world. Sask & Alberta have oil, coal and Uranium. My goal is to see us become an Unincorporated US Territorry like the US Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico.
This allows for free trade, Americans can freely live and work here, America can build military bases, and in exchange for not paying US federal taxes, we don't get to vote for the President, nor do we get any representation in congress, but the US Constitution would still apply to our laws and restrct our government.

Chinese mint or a western mint? Perth mint makes Chinese coins. If they're 31.1 they're using standard 1 troy oz blanks. I believe US mint was buying some of their blanks from Sunshine mint. If they are being produced in China, this suggests that China is going to go after the western retail market and get some of those juicy value added premiums.
I thought most of the pms sold to the Chinese domestic market were in grams/kgs.

The 31.1g format suggests they likely have plans to dual market them in both China and the west. It's good to see western mints get some competition. They seem to be currently going after the high premium collector medallions/coins, but might eventually market lower cost Chinese planchets and generic rounds.
I'm happy to see anything that increases the silver market sales/competition.

Buying precious time to keep the fiction of the US dollar going long enough, until they are ready to rugpull it. My theory is the Federal Reserve is backstopping the bullion banks who lose money shorting silver and gold because it helps protect the fiction of the US Dollar.
Silver going above $35 and gold going above 3500 risk triggering a run on precious metals which would call the integrity and stability of the $USD into question. The US government may be secretly buying physical gold and silver in preparation for a $USD devaluation, but until that time, they need to keep the sheep fooled.

I wouldn't even be able to withdraw that much, because the bank employees don't handle cash. You have to use ATM, and it has very low withdrawal limits (a few hundred euros max).
Also you can't buy any silver or gold coins/bars in cash (AML). Dunno about jewelry, silverware, and such but I doubt it.
And you can't even spend more than like 3000 euros cash at a store, IIRC. It used to be 10,000 but they lowered it. And of course the EU wants to do this everywhere…

What is AML? Do you mean local coin shops don't take cash anymore? That means your country is ready for the CBDC.
We keep a supply of cash at home in a fire safe in case there is any kind of banking/power disruption. We also have months of food and a couple months of water. I can't imagine not using cash at the local coin shop.

Beans, bullets, bullion fren. Start small, gradually add more over time, the best time to start was 10 years ago, the next best time is today.
Beans includes enough food and water to ride out a brief shelter in place, and/or facilitate a quick exfiltration and should include both ready to eat, (USA MREs/Humanitarian Rations look like shit, are cheap as fuck, but lots of vegitarian calories, but last for years if kept cool) and longer term but need to be prepared foodstuffs. Canned beans/Stag Chili/Beef Stew are a cheap simple compromise that can be eaten cold (in an emergency) or hot but only last about 12-18 months.

Gold buyer/dealer explains there are new fake "PAMP" packaged gold bars using custom alloys that can test positive with the Sigma high end testers. The Alloy is tailored to exactly replicate the electromagnetic signature of gold.
The bars do NOT pass the acid test, and won't pass the density test, but you can't do those tests without removing the bars from the encapsulation.
https://youtu.be/vaBB6iaNzQE?t=417
The old density (mass/volume) tests are still king when testing 24k gold.

>Yeah but they cost too much, especially with 20% VAT on top.
If I was in a country with high VAT I would only buy sovereign mint coins that were lower or non taxed. Alternately I would, if possible/feasible, drive to a country that had lower/no taxes and buy my metal there.
The only advantage of bullion over coins is the lower premium per oz. The DISadvantage of bullion over coins is they are harder to sell if you're not selling to a dealer, and there is a lower price per oz paid than for sovereign mint coins. At least that's the case in Canada. Picrel shows the buy/sell spread in Canadian dollars. The new counterfeit resistant silver Maples have a higher price, but also a higher repurchase price. The buy/sell spread for the bullion bar is slightly higher than for the Maples.
I generally optimize for max silver per dollar/euro spent, so if I were buying in a VAT country I would likely never buy any bullion unless I could do a private purchase without VAT.
In Canada there is VAT on palladium, both bullion and coin, including Royal Canadian Mint legal tender palladium Maple Leaf coins. I would still buy one just to have it for collection purposes.
Many gold Krugerrands, British Sovereigns and US gold Eagles in Canada end up being sent to the melter because the Canadian exemption on VAT only applies to pure gold/silver and those famous gold coins are all 22k, and customers don't want to pay VAT on them.

Platinum is just shiny silver so it looks like a silver Maple. Gold has that unique color. Personally I prefer silver looking jewelry, but polished gold has a unique beauty.
Both gold and platinum are noticably dense. You can feel the difference, especially in larger pieces that are heavier than you would intuitively expect.

Yes. Humans suffer from something called the normalcy bias. People assume that trends tend to be linear, and patterns that held in their own personal lived experience will hold true for the future.
The normalcy bias for Westerners is:
-Governments are basically honest
-Peace is the normal state of affairs
-Fiat mony tends to have a linear decay curve
-Systems/Institutions will work the same regardless of race of population
The Silent Generation (1929-1945) and the Boomers, (1946-1964) particularly in western Europe and N. America have lived their entire adult lives during one the the most prosperous periods of human existence. The post war era from the mid 1940s to the dot com bubble was an era of unprecedented wealth creation.
They've NEVER seen a hyperinflation, they've never seen a world war. They've never seen a complete breakdown of institutions. They've never seen a demographic flood of completely incompatible, hostile foreign aliens who HATE them. HATE their children, HATE their institutions, HATE their culture, HATE their countries.
It's happening now, and the youngest boomers, in the 60s, in most cases are in complete denial, or worse, gleefully accelerating the demise for their own personal short term benefit. (increasing home prices, cheap foreign labor, cheap foreign imports)
Two things the intelligent European brain never evolved to handle are non-linearity (things different than before) and exponential growth. Most people are so conditioned by their past experiences that they will perish before they manage to change their programming.
Regarding your relatives, I'm sorry to say that it is likely that there is nothing you can to to save them. As Yuri Bezmanov described it, the programming is complete and irreversable. You can show them factual authentic information and they will refuse to believe it. Even worse, for most boomers, they have a vested interest in NOT believing it, because they are in most cases too old to take the steps necessary to save themselves, and will happily sacrifice their own children and grandchildren's lives in exchange for their last few years of personal comfort.
You tried fren. By the time they act to save themselves, (by buying precious metals) it will likely be too late.
When the reset happens, Boomers will lose their life savings to hyperinflation/bail ins/great reset, their real-estate equity will collapse or be expropriated without compensation, they will suffer greatly from economic hardship/war, and their own children will have to wage civil war to retake their own ancestral lands from the hostile foreign invaders that were willingly imported and taxpayer subsidized.

Silver has NEVER been cheaper in real terms in history. The ratio of 100+:1 of silver to gold has only happend a few brief times in history.
I was buying gold when it was $260/oz. Nobody wanted it. They were putting their money into the dot com bubble at the time. Platinum is normally more expensive than gold. It is currently being sold for below the cost of current production.
There is no excuse for anyone not to buy some precious metals now. The time has never been better, and will likely get a lot worse.

The heavier coins are a nice novelty. They feel good in the hand. We have a couple of 2oz Werewolves from RCM.
That being said, I can probably count the number of "collector" (ie, coins/medallions we pay a premium for because we like how they look) silver coins we currently have on my fingers. We often use them as gifts for the children of relatives to hopefully encourage their parents to think about buying silver.
99.9% of people don't realize what a historicallly great value silver is right now. By the time the masses realize, the ship will already have sailed.

It's not just the Chinese you need to worry about. Today the Federal Reserve needed to buy a bunch of 3 year US Treasuries. Debt monetization is here. Weimar 2.0 is coming, and other countries including the EU and Canada will take advantage of the US devaluation to do the same for their own fiat.
>The Fed purchased over $20 billion worth of 3-year notes (bonds) today, marking the largest daily purchases since the era of QE in 2021.

The real reason why gold has gone from and average of 5% of portfolios to 0.5% is because the Federal Reserve has been deliberately subsidizing the market (via low interest/QE) for decades.
Most people playing the market today have never seen a real secular bear market, the fed has always been their trampoline for the last 43 years.

It actually touched $3500 and dropped down. There are people who thought it would go to $2700, but it will hit $3700 this fall, possibly $4000 by year end.
The issue isn't that gold is necessarily going up in price. The $USD is going DOWN in value. Gold is merely doing what it's done for 6500 years. Acting as a store of value. 2000 years ago you could get a top quality set of Roman clothes and sandals for an ounce of gold. Today you can get a top quality bespoke suit and fine shoes for one ounce of gold.
Luke Gromen suggests that if the price of gold increased to $22000/oz that the US trade with China would be balanced.
Devaluation of the $USD is the only way to escape their debt trap at this point, and there are only two options:
1. Controlled, finite, limited devaluation
2. Print money to cover their ongoing needs, and pray it doesn't cause an avalanche loss of confidence that triggers a hyperinflation

Global housing crises i.e. Canada or Australia. CBDC's system rolling out, but to inevitably fail hard like it has before, they couldn't even get a shithole like Nigeria to function with this CBDC experiment. There is a Greater Depression about to hit us all like a tidal wave. I'm just hoping that when it hits I have at least 10 oz. of Gold and to be able to maneuver my way to South America or somewhere with my friends/family. I wouldn't dream of ending up in Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela or the especially egregious Mexicrement, unless I had a death wish. The former are easily the nicest of the banana cartel countries. If you're a "gringo" with real money (Gold), some knowledge of spanish, and get yourself a few acres, you'll be set. Good food, cheap $30 dollar whores, and beautiful rainforests, what's not to love? https://www.zerohedge.com/crypto/digital-euro-ecb-launches-charm-offensive
Even if this whole thing fails, they can still do a lot of damage in the process. The Unicoin article (I posted earlier in this thread) mentioned how they're lowering the cash transaction limits. They can also limit the ATM withdrawals like they currently do here, and apparently now also in Spain. And I guess ultimately they'll want to setup capital controls so that nobody can buy gold or silver, or at least not in any kind of quantity. Crypto (other than the CBDC) will probably be outlawed completely. Maybe this can't be enforced 100%, but they can still deny access to exchanges and whatever else the crypto nerds need to operate outside of local sneakernet.

In this Luke Gromen interview, (@ around 38 minutes) he mentions that whoever imported 5400 tons of gold into the USA could only have done it either on behalf of, or with the blessing of the US Treasury, because there's been defacto capital controls to prevent anyone from accumulating large quantities (enough to squeeze comex) of gold and silver.
See the saga of the Hunt Brothers and how they changed the rules midstream in order to rugpull them.
Is the US Treasury accumulating gold to use as a neutral reserve asset to allow orderly devaluation of the US dollar?

The beauty of privately held PMs is that they are easy to hide, hard to find, and for small stackers, the juice really isn't worth the squeeze to go on door to ddor raids.
The PMs themselves will often outlast the regimes, and are useful in any economy.

I'd like to be able to spend it openly. I guess there's no choice but to see what happens though. Not like banks don't hold way more gold than retail this time around anyway.

>I guess there's no choice but to see what happens though.
A number of US States have passed gold and silver legal tender laws, making those metals money, as per the US Constitution. That means no taxes to buy and sell and no capital gains on changes of the value of money.
Several States including Utah, have made Goldbacks voluntary legal tender. By some estimates, up to 50% of small businesses in Utah accept Goldbacks.
The bigger issue is with places like Canada, Australia, NZ and the EU where they feel embolded by their disarmed populace to go full retard 1984 totalitarian.
Outside of the eastern seaboard, USA still has a healthy respect for their well armed people.

Not that it helps you any, but I was glad to see Monument add Goldbacks at a competitive premium. It will be a lot easier to pick up the odd note every now and then.

I bought a few Goldbacks a couple of years ago from defythegrid and shipping was $30USD. They are among the most beautiful notes I've ever seen. Photos do not do them any justice. Some of the people I've shown then to have gone out and bought their own. Others have begged me to sell them one of mine.
I don't recommend Goldbacks for stackers or for people who want to have gold/silver as savings, but they are the best spendable gold I've ever seen.
I gave a one Goldback note to the Premier of our Province, along with a letter explaining what it was and suggesting it might be nice for our Province to get their own.
For stackers, I would stick to coins/bullion, but it is very easy to fall in love with the beauty of Goldbacks.

I wonder if Goldback has talked to anyone in neighboring countries to see if something similar there would be possible. It would be neat if you could use a FL / NV / whatever gb at a store in another country, like Canada. Imagine how nice some maple gbs would look.

Given the fact that the Goldbacks are all 1/1000 oz X the face value, they are an internationally neutral currency that follows the price of gold. Goldback has a convenient calculator for calculating prices and change for $USD, but it would be trivial to add additional calculators for other world currencies.

A bunch of old 80's and 90's silver commemoratives that were under spot. I'll take a pic they ever get here.
I don't really want to buy the expensive boring wieners for 33 euros. Already bought many of those when they were 10 bux less in 2022-23.

Capital controls of one sort or another are coming. We already have a variety of "soft" capital contols, ie $10,000 cash border limit, which was instituted decades ago and never adjusted for inflation.
Countries are now demanding that their citizens declare ALL their valuables, assets, properties, whether owned in the country or outside it.

Yup. Hard to believe how fast our world is turning to crap. Our "elites" and leaders are pure evil. What they're doing to us is diabolical and they're taking everything. Our wealth, our privacy, our properties, our culture. It's all going down the drain. No wonder why young people get depressed when there's no future for them.

Grant Williams: Massive Once-In-A-Century Change Is Underway. Don't Be Blind To It!
TLDW; We are heading into very uncertain territory, and now is the time to PRESERVE what you have, and not necessarily try and chase returns and gainz.
Many countries have had multi YEAR periods where there were NO returns on the equities markets. In the last 124 years (1901-2025?) the AVERAGE longest period of time with no returns on the markets was 22 years. The longest was Austria at 90 years. We could be heading into a multi year bear market. Timestamp: https://youtu.be/2lbPdZfGayc?t=1618

Doomberg has admitted (but not in the above video) that a small but significant portion of his own personal wealth is in the form of physical gold. He doesn't own gold to speculate, he owns gold to PRESERVE his wealth.
Rick Rule has admitted the same. Same for Grant Williams.
I'm too poor to have more than insignificant amounts of gold, but I do have a few ounces of silver.

They are COMEX bars which are 1000oz + or - 5%, so they weigh about 70lbs, or a little over 30kg each. Each bar will have the specific weight stamped on it and there will be an adjustment for the price for any over/under weight.
Because of their size and cost, they are relatively illiquid other than to major dealers, so they are almost never bought by retail buyers. The picture in the post you quoted is from a tech billionaire whale who knows that silver will be going up substantially in price, so he bought several tons of COMEX bars. He indicated that he will sell them back to the COMEX when he wants to liquidate them.
