I'm seeking to deweebize my life… how do I get to fuck get some decent job?
A little context, just got around to finish my spec in aircraft maintenance, avionics part, but the economy is pretty fucked up in my country, what sites are decent to find jobs nowadays?
Another plan I have is to use this spec and try to migrate to a more decent country, do you guys have insights to this?

Currently living with my parents and taking university classes. No loans, all financial aid, but no time for a job. My concern is that I'll be unprepared against those that got into internships. My life feels so slow right now because of all my time in classes but it's some form of progress at least.
I've seen some free online courses for coding and more where you just pay for the certificate. /biz/ might be interested in something like this to pick up one up for $50.
Who comes to /biz/? What is your level or education/experience?
What is your financial background?
My parents are terrible with money and I don't have much job experience either. So taking the uni route is my best option.

I wouldn't be too worried about that, being in school and having access to it's resources has it's own advantages. just be sure to make use of them.
>I've seen some free online courses for coding and more where you just pay for the certificate
that just sounds like a scam. might even hurt your chances if it's found out you bought your credentials.

Are you saying that the only legitimate credentials are those that the student did not pay for? I don't agree: what about post-secondary degrees? Are the only legitimate post-secondary degrees the ones for which the student got full scholarship? Wouldn't that imply (because the only financial aid (as far as i know, correct me if i'm wrong) is based on either financial need, or academic excellence or potential, or some niche grant) that rich, mediocre students cannot ever get any sort of legitimate credentials?
You probably confuse paying for credentials and paying for false credentials. Don't make that mistake. Ever.
>>3623
In your case, the first step would be to learn about all the things which are considered to be common knowledge,
>how do I get to fuck get some decent job?
e.g. prostitution
Not sure how you would go about applying aircraft maintenance or avionics to prostitution, but if you succeed, let us know all about it.
Regarding deweebization, changing your art consumption habits towards great art is a good start. What makes art good is somewhat subjective, but the art consumption and art criticism communities have curated collections of art products that tend to be great regardless of consumer. I'm not going to give any particular recommendations, because I do not see myself as a properly qualified art critic, it is easy to find general artproduct-consumption suggestions by the usual means, and this is not the best forum for discussing art. We patiently await your progress.

>This is my current plan for the next 10 years, please give advice if you have any:
Step 1 - finish college. I am taking online classes and should be done with my computer science degree by the end of 2020.
Step 2 - concurrently, get an electrician apprenticeship. I am a bit worried that it may be too late into placement season for me to get a job this year, but as long as I apply my parents will probably not kick me out.
Step 3 - Find a wife and have her live with her parents and but I can support her with wages I earn from my apprenticeship
Step 4 - keep working the apprenticeship and become certified electrician and take on programming gigs on the side until my programming / computer skills are good enough to switch from electrician work over to full time computer work

if it's just a few hundred dollars then just keep it in cash. if you haven't already it should be put aside in case of emergencies, medical or otherwise. after that the return on some smart purchases is going to be more than what you're going to get on the stock market. like the average return on $100 is about $10 a year, you can save that much by buying toilet paper in bulk or whatever. reddit's /r/personalfinance actually has a pretty good wiki for that kind of planning.
https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/wiki/index
>Like 1 share in AOR, 1 share in FZILX, and then use the rest for swing trading.
a bit redundant since AOR should already include everything.
if you just want to get a taste of having your own money on the line then go wild and buy some penny stock and really feel those highs and lows. but be aware the danger of gambling isn't losing the money, it's winning and getting a dopamine rush that compels you to come back despite your better judgement.
>Something else I wanted to do was look if I can find a temporary job for the summer that allows enough time for my classes
if you don't need the money I would just stay on campus and socialize or join a student club. at least that's what I regret not doing more of. partly because it becomes much harder to make friends once you lose your student status. and partly because those connections are great for job networking.
>>4139
>I found that one share of AOR at $44.88 would become $1,011,504.84 after 36 years.
that is definitely not correct. those number should only get you to a few thousand at most. what website are you using that led you to that conclusion?
you should look up how compound interest works, and probably some other finance fundamentals. you'll be using those concepts in other parts of your life, not just in the stock market. it's honestly baffling this stuff isn't taught in high school.
>I read some lists on websites comparing index funds but I didn't understand how they all differ much from one another as many looked very similar.
I'm not sure what you're confused about. there are some index funds that are made by competing companies and are designed to do the same thing. other than that each index tries to have it's own slice of the economy, like by country, or by industry.
>What is the best way to calculate compound dividend projections?
rather than worry about that, you can set something up called a dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP for short) that automatically uses the dividend to buy more stock at a slight discount.
I should say that I think dividend income is highly overrated, especially with how some people talk about it like it's free money (it's not). you should be looking at a fund's overall return, whether that comes from dividends or growth. the only reason you'd prefer dividends is for tax reasons I'm pretty sure don't concern you.
>Is share times multiplier, minus cost on that, and then minus tax from that, the right way?
I'm not sure what you're trying to do here. dividend payments are listed under "Distribution Yield", which which is currently 1.80% for AOR. how it works is it's own rabbit hole but I don't think it's something that requires additional calculations.

I was using the wrong search terms, I found it here.
http://www.moneychimp.com/calculator/compound_interest_calculator.htm
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/compoundinterest.asp
https://www.thebalance.com/compound-interest-4061154
https://www.fool.com/retirement/2019/05/12/3-reasons-you-might-be-poor-in-retirement.aspx
I was looking at MarketWatch's data and trying to calculate from that. Most of this is new to me and my algebra skills are poor so I should've known I was doing something wrong. Even trying to use those links is starting to confuse me and giving me conflicting answers. I'd certainly like to start a DRIP at some point soon though.
I certainly agree about high schools. High school doesn't teach about money, jobs, how purchase a house or car, and even driving isn't in high schools anymore.
My classes are online so I'm not campus but I do need lots of money, which is what led me being interested in stock trading. So I won't be missing much by getting a job. If anything, I may need a job to help me socialize more instead of spending all my time online.
I'll just focus on trading since investing doesn't appear to be as grand as I hoped. I'll save DRIP for after I get my degree.

>Even trying to use those links is starting to confuse me and giving me conflicting answers
there can be some small differences in how some of these websites make the calculation. for the stock market any tool is only an approximation anyways. the average return is just that, an average; you could see your investment lose 50% of it's value in weeks and have to wait years for it to make up for the loss.
>If anything, I may need a job to help me socialize more instead of spending all my time online.
good on you then. I said student, but all that should still apply to anyone young and eager to learn. you can check places like your local library or websites that organize meetups for opportunities to connect with people or find mentorship.
>I'll just focus on trading since investing doesn't appear to be as grand as I hoped
again, I'll caution against it. the podcasts I linked mentioned that the majority of people that dedicate their lives to the trade don't come out on top. there are a lot of promises that it will be profitable, but those promises are largely made by either people who will profit off of you using their system, regardless if you use it successfully. or by the extremely lucky who think their luck is skill.
it can be a fun hobby, but don't count on it supplementing your income past what the passive approach will get you.

What do you guys think of buying a "shotgun" house or other small house? I am not talking about the hipster cucksheds per say. Not a mobile home though.
I really don't want to get fucked on debt and mortgage for something I will probably sell in 20 years but I don't want to rent. I absolutely do not want to spend more than $100,000 on a house. I think it's do-able if I live in the countryside and commute 30-60 minutes to work.
<things it would need
room #1: adult bedroom, home office
room #2: bunk beds for children with little else
room #3: living room for children: desks and a computer, lots of textbooks for homeschooling
room #4: bathroom
room #5: kitchen, laundry room, utilities (heating, et cetera)
<things I could go without
anything not absolutely necessary
basement (no basement could significantly reduce cost)
<garage
car
trash bins
storage possibly

Tentative house layout. I would definitely have this built instead of getting a trailer or modular house since getting it built would allow greater freedom over its design and higher quality.
The garage could maybe be moved to a single story side compartment instead of the first floor.
<diagram
first floor; garage with car, bathroom w/ shower, staircase to second floor
second floor; bedroom for children (sleeping bags), seperate bedroom for me and wife and home office
So I would either have to expand the square footage a little more per each floor to make room for the kids living area, or else find some other creative solution

while owning feels better psychologically (which is an important factor), it's not necessarily better than renting or a mortgage in a strictly financial sense. not that it's worse either, just that it's not so clear cut when you consider all of the variables. also a 60 minute commute can really mess with some people.

Be me
Not eligible for any financial aid, though I’m not rich by any means
Not eligible for private student loans (without co-sign. But no family)
Not eligible for trump cash also because I won’t take unemployment.
covid\family caused me dropping out of college\moved home.
Currently owe last school I went to Like 3k+
Owe 12k+ to fed in pell loans
Owe 4K+ in credit card debt
Basically just over 20k in mixed debt, still 2 years from a B.S., working part time but no long term job.
Literally, the only way I see to pay debt instead of wasting my life force as a wage slave is stonks and or entrepreneurship. That being said I’m not lazy, I never took unemployment also because I never long term stopped working job to job during this shit.
My credit score is probably 0 or even radical(-1) at this point.
I’ve gotten at least 5 different 1k bags from options but honestly was not smart with the profits from it. I can manage risk however.
Currently all I have to my name is $700 combined from a deep in the money $blnk call option with a couple months time left thats up 400%, some $blnk stocks, and around $30 bucks cash for gas. I also have a 305 spy put that lasts till Friday.
I do atm have a ok job and I do have a good dad so I’m not worried about my near term future, but I do have a girl I’m trying to marry. I won’t ask my dad for anything unless I’m stranded or In danger, which is just how I am.
Our situation is much much more complicated then just mine( she’s Punjabi muslim and Im a white redneck). Her parents have no idea I exist but we’ve been dating seriously for 3 years. By December we plan to move out and move in with each other in a apartment. Land and renting is just not cheap in NY
Definitely not begging but if you big $ guys wanna run up blnk or crash the market, I’m not opposed. The number Ev charging stations in u.s. are expected to grow annually at 40% per year for the next 7 years.
Also all constructive advice is welcome.

Damn.. I've got in trouble recently. As you know Bitcoin is getting lower and lower all the time. I've bough it back in April when it costed $60k. Now its price about $40k and today it was even lower - down to 32k… It makes me sad.
Despite that I decided to go on working with crypto because I truly believe it will bring me more profit one day. That's why I decided to spend $900 to buy more BTC today (when it costed $32k). I've taken a loan https://paydayplus.net/900-payday-loans. It's 8 p.m. now and BTC costs 40k again. I've earned more then 18% within several hours. Sounds awesome, right? :D

I've been following this financial lifestyle and planning thread, and it's been incredibly helpful in guiding me towards better financial habits. One aspect I wanted to bring up for discussion is the difference between a marketplace and a platform ( https://forbytes.com/blog/platform-vs-marketplace/ ) when it comes to financial services. Understanding the nuances between these two models can have a significant impact on our financial decisions. Exploring the benefits and drawbacks of marketplace and platform approaches can help us make more informed choices about the financial products and services we engage with. Keep sharing your insights!

Start by creating a budget that reflects your daily expenses. But you still need to earn money somehow. To do this, I downloaded one thing, used https://icasinoreviews.info/zodiac-casino-nz/download/ for this. After this, you can earn money and save money correctly. Also consider investing your available funds.
