What do you guys do with your money when you get it? How much goes to rent, food, gas, etc, and how much do you invest/save? What do you invest in?

in the US it costs about $10-14k/yr to exist. that includes rent (with utilities), health insurance, car insurance, gas, food, internet.

full time minimum wage (~$7.5/hr) nets you $14k/yr, so you need to be making at least $10-15/hr to really be able to save anything.

you need money before you can even think about investing. And then you get the joy of losing it all.

silver <$15/oz is a no brainer and I think is the best way your average joe can save today, so long as you buy it cheap. hit a low of $8 during the 2008 crisis, anything between $8 and $15 is cheap.

None and nothing. I want to, but until I figure out how to break the cycle, I'm fucked.

I do a monthly budget. It helps cut a lot of the fat off that doesn't need to be there.

Basically if you don't make a lot don't spend a lot. If you make minimum wage then get a 2nd job or look for something that pays more restaurants where I live hire dishwashers for at least 9/hr. Investing wise do some research

either he works for less than ~$12/hr or has some expense, like car maintenance or health problems. if he's buying beer and weed though he deserves it.

this is why people need to understand money and banking, to prevent such a bullshit economy from being created in the first place.

Nothing, really. Nobody ever taught me how to handle money, so I'm in a tight spot until I teach myself. >>1923 is even closer than he thinks. I make $12/hr, but only part-time, I've got a shit car that constantly needs maintenance, and I've got health issues that prevent me from working as much as I want but can't afford to fix them. Basically, the ground was falling out from under me, so I grabbed the first job that was available. It's really far away, (~50 miles each way) and gas and tolls eats into the amount that I make, not to mention the miles it's putting on the car. When it comes down to it, I need a new job that's closer. It might not even need to pay better. However, I'm hesitant to drop this one, because it allows me to schedule my own hours, which is great because of the health issues.

>if he's buying beer and weed though he deserves it.

About two or three times a month I hang out with friends, and buy a couple beers or coffee on those occasions. It's not a habitual expense.

You'd think that for all the useless shit we learned in school, especially high school, they would have allocated some of that time to basic personal finances and saving/investing instead.

information on personal finance is purposefully kept out of public education for the sake of making it easier to control the population. what information is available is confusing and often plain bad advice.

it is a dog eat dog world. learn money and markets or perish. learning to read and understand a simple candlestick chart is probably the best thing you can do towards making prudent investments (buying at the right price). no investments = no positive exposure to central bank moneyprinting = wageslave for life.

silver between $8-15/oz is cheap. The timeframe to build a position I feel is between now and early 2018, the Fed raising rates will test the resilience of the global economy until it breaks, at which point all banks will have to print like mad to prevent a debt-default domino effect. We'll get serious inflation and metals will rise back to 2011 levels and further going into 2020 and beyond.

tl;dr get fucked goyim if you were smart you'd be doing this already.

>information on personal finance is purposefully kept out of public education for the sake of making it easier to control the population.

They teach it in school.

Back in 8th grade (~2009), we had a personal finance course for a month.

At the end, we had a field trip to this kids finance expo for a final assignment.

Everyone gets a life scenario and creates a budget for it.

>Single parent with two kids making 40k/y.

We got computers to pick houses, cars, etc.

Simple enough.

Then they gave us the assignment sheet. It had categories that we had to budget for.

They were all REQUIRED and had a MINIMUM amount.

>Mortgage: Had to be buying

>Car: Had to be new, plus due to kids, I had to get a bigger car.

>Clothes: >$50/m /person

>Food: >$200/m /person

>Entertainment: >$100/m /person

>Savings: 5% gross/m, so like ~$120/m

This is also something I had in middle school to high school (didn't get the fancy field trips). My age group is early 20s. There was some edutainment game on the computers that simulates life after school, career choice, and budgeting. I got slightly demoralized that the conventional good behavior leads a mundane, yet comfortable life.

You can cheat that easily, just live with your parents or significant other/friend (you need heavy trust for this one to work). Live in the midwest and work in a factory/warehouse. There you go, at least $13 an hour and your rent is effectively 0 (provided your parents don't make you pay rent) or cut in half. Food costs can go down a lot if you simply EAT LESS but more filling food (oatmeal, chicken breast, peanut butter, high fat/protein diet).

Both of my parents are divorced so no matter what they will make me pay rent or costs to live with them. At that point it's just easier to live with my significant other since I get more privacy/time to myself. Also they both live in shithole states with nothing in the way of jobs or heavy commuting to work (Indiana). At that point it's just easier to move.

Dunno man, in used bookstores you see doomporn "economy's gonna blow THIS DECADE" books as far back as the 80's. The Controllers have always been able to keep the game going. What makes this time any different. PMs are totally manipulated as I understand it. They can drive it up and down as they please. They have total market control. Look at how BTC bounced at $6,666 the same day the DJIA dropped 666 points a month or so back; they rub it in our faces.

you need to change your situation first and foremost…you know what's wrong but you're not doing actively doing anything to change it, i wouldn't even bother with worrying about investing in your case, if i was going to invest in anything it would probably be trade school or something of the sort.

you have to create enough income to where investing in tangibles actually makes sense, it doesn't make sense for where you are at in your life, you need to invest in changing your position in life and what you are doing.

a bunch of silver in a safe isn't ever really going to change your life, things will keep happening to you and you'll keep having to go into your investments just to survive, you need to change your survival outlook first.

i don't want to be a dick but i don't know if things are ever going to change for you, you know dam well what you need to do but you're not doing it.

my father once told me, it's always easier to get a job if you already have a job, i didn't get what he was telling me until i was in my mid 20's, the idea is that you should never be treading water, especially if your situation sucks, you know your situation sucks you should be looking for another job as if you are unemployed, every single day you should be looking for something somewhere else, while still kicking ass doing what you are doing.

maybe i'm lucky i don't know, but i've probably worked somewhere around 80 jobs or more over the course of my life before i found myself where i am now, i've been everything from a call center worker to a insurance salesman to a bouncer to all of the normal stuff, server, construction/demo worker/shipping/receiving/ect,ect,ect…until i eventually found myself at a small engineering company building pallets, a position opened up to do mechanical assembly and i asked to apply for the job, they told me no, i could just have it since i was a good worker, i worked that position for a few years and during the course i was pointing out design flaws that engineers fresh out of college were making, i must have been right as they offered to send me to school for a BSME and put me in a drafting position while i went to school…i've been with the company 12 years now and am a design eng…my life is fucking amazing in most regards….now i'm only in my mid 30's, this shit didn't happen in the old days of America, it happened and is happening now, my mindset was always on changing my situation and making myself someone that i think would deserve an opportunity like the one i got. i never bitched, moaned or complained about my job, i was always on time, i knew when to shut the fuck and listen, i did everything on every level that i knew i should be doing…you are not. you know this isn't working out for you, you know this is never going to work out for you, yet you tread water? why?

life's fucking hard, you have medical problems, it's going to get harder for you the older you get, people will be less likely to offer you opportunities as you age, you become less capable,it's harder to learn and you become more defined in all ways really…i know it fucking suck, i know that sometimes you just want to fucking die just for it to be over, lol, i've been there, more than once…shit still am in someways as life will never cease to present problems no matter how good you think you got it.

push yourself anon, push yourself till you either make it or break and die as ultimately those are our only real options and we're all going to end up in the same place regardless. invest in yourself anon. you can do it. you really can.. it's just fucking hard and a lot of people just aren't willing to do what they need to do to get there. good luck.
