Agreed there is like 3 main artists which I am a super fan of but actually their art is being released. They all had a 1 year art contract with cushypen so they are starting to release the art they made a while back. (i think it was maybe a 3 year contract) anyway a lot old stuff is coming out on DA(deviant art) at least last i checked on DA

Will never understand why this artist doesn't go to Patreon and make 10-50X more money. Noone wants to pay for 98% of cushypens TRASH furry art. If Rocket Manatee reads this he/she should definitely go that route.
Hope we can get a leak/they move to Patreon or another direct to consumer art program that isn't filled with trash and foxes people like cushypen.

that weirdo was me, I have a background in image processing so when I heard their stuff was watermarked it was pretty easy to find out they were hiding the IP info in the blue channel's least significant bit plane.
That's why you could see it if you cranked up the contrast and also why just saving the image as jpg would remove the watermark in most cases (the jpg compression would wipe the watermark since it was considered unnecessary information).
The watermark method they used after I posted how to beat the old method was still the same idea but instead of stuffing it in a single bit plane they had some fuckery where the info was spread across all the bit planes. Getting rid of it in that case was as simple as applying a smart blur filter in photoshop with settings that would leave the image looking indistinguishable from before.
They may have changed their method again since there are many methods way sneakier than what they had previously but I'd have to see a recent image to figure out if it's changed.
I always considered offering an undetectable watermark service to content creators in exchange for their stuff just so I wouldn't have to lurk threads like this yet here I am.

This was posted on 8chan.moe, they're talking about using blurs to get rid of the watermark similarly to what you've said.
Also I don't think there is a market to sell more watermaking software to artists if TCP hadn't been leak in years when their system has such simple failures. There is a thick line separating loyal customers from people who wants to share content, loyalty and not security is what kept tcp content from leaking.
