I neglected to say in the OP, I’ve had several instances where this has occurred (but only suspected).

In all instances, I contacted the content owner and discreetly and reassuringly (without divulging my identity) asked if they lived in the area that I knew them from. Some said yes, some said no (although I suspect they lied).

All that said, everyone ended up either not being who I thought they were or completely denied being who I thought they were (without me ever stating names of course).

I haven't found any pictures of people I know wearing diapers, but I had a couple friends find pictures of me wearing diapers when they found my Fetlife. The one friend brought it up with me the next day at uni and that was quite a bit of a shock. The other one messaged me on there just saying I should remove some details about myself, and funnily enough he was also into diapers. So that was kinda neat.

A few incidents have happened. Both recognising and bring recognised. I guess both are relevant. I Was drinking one night with a friend and one of her friends I sort of knew but wasn’t close with. Can’t remember the exact conversation but the guy said something like “I know, I’ve seen your fetlife” leading to be being like no way, but he roughly knew my username. I am fairly certain he would have shown my friend at some point when I wasn’t around, but we have never discussed it. He hit on me a few times after that, he seemed down with the cg stuff but not diapers. He has actual kids though so not someone I am interested in.

Incident 2. Was scrolling Instagram and recognised a username commenting on a popular abdl girls photo. They are a transgender person I knew briefly in high school. I found this quite exciting and of course sent them a message. Turns out they had seen pictures of me online before but never said anything which I find more strange than just straight up asking about your shared interest. Anyway to be honest they are a straight up weirdo so I dropped that conversation.

And lastly I had my pictures be spammed on pol for a bit only to have some long time internet friends recognise me and message on Facebook to warn me. Again not a thing we have actually discussed. I suppose none of them have cut me off or anything, imagine they judge me somewhat though.

In my experience, you don't need face pics to 'pull it off' on Fetlife, but they can help. I usually keep any pics that show identifying information to friends only and keep my friends list rather limited to people I've talked to enough to feel at least a bit comfortable that they won't go spreading images around. Of course, that depends on people to respect said trust though.

i've definitely noticed people are more successful on FL if they've got a face pic, even if they're average looking, you're going to get more interactions.

there are huge risks though, especially if you aspire to normie life. i've heard of documentaries about BDSM/fetishes showing footage of peoples' fetlife profiles, pic pages including face pics.

Not someone I know but my old roommate's son was friends on FB with a now-defunct diaper content producer. Through that connection I did discover that I probably have been in the same place as a diaper model who was relatively popular when she was active. I’ve had a few instances where I’ve seen pictures outdoors that are too similar to areas around where I live to be a coincidence. If I approach the content creator, they almost always deny, which I don’t blame them - especially if it’s true and they live near me… where I live, secrets spread like wildfire (small but big town). I heard rumors before back when I had just graduated high school about people in my area being ABDL, but never confirmed pictures or anything of them. One girl that had the rumor was super hot but went to another high school across town.
