Will ABDL-ism change with the time?

It's very interesting how the concept of infancy and childhood when we were growing up seems to affect this whole thing. For instance, there were some mid 90s ABDL photos, one of the first ones available on the internet. And one thing that struck me was how common was cloth diapers, plastic pants and cloth diapers covers.

Which make me think, those people in those photos were probably born in the 70s or so, a time when, I think, cloth diapers weren't that mainstream – especially when comparing with how unanimously popular disposable diapers are nowadays. In a way, it's like this fetish, kink, whatever, evolves with the time to each new generation, and we have this idealized vision of childhood, this definition of childhood or little-girlhood that existed when were growing up, and this idea gets embedded and engrained into us in a way that's hard to put into words. It is our definition of what a child is, and what they should be wearing, and so on and so forth.

And it goes beyond just clothing, but even things like toys and so on. It's very common nowadays for you to see babies and toddlers playing with an iPad, playing some baby game in it. Well, there was no iPad in the 80s or 90s or early 2000s. Babies and toddlers back then played with a rattle or something. It's interesting to think how people who were born nowadays, and who will get interested into ABDL 20 years from now, will think about this kink and how they will idealize the concept of infancy, what being a child will have meant to them.

Given that the main thrust is entirely correct, it does make one wonder about the limits, hard or soft, to how much it can change. The play patterns and elimination needs of toddlers are highly unlikely to change anytime soon, so any shifts in ABDL fantasies are going to be bound by those factors. Even the relative social acceptance of childhood as an idealized object has cultural precedents in the valuation of virginity. In a broader sense though, it does make one wonder to what degree it can change and still remain appealing enough to form an attachment to (even in the fantastically speculative sense of the elimination of childhood).

Pretty soon kids will potty train on average at 6 years old, meaning half of those kids train at almost ten.

ABDL will become a cultural thing used by the media to keep young fighting age men from realizing they are slaves and women from having children.

Basically ABDLs will cease to exist as new children stay sociopathic man-babies their whole lives.

This is not fapfiction, it is the hell we chose.

Confirmed to not be conspiracy-anon; too much resignation and not enough imploring to get GF.

Other thing that it's interesting to me, I think, is how the very social perception of childhood and the very childhood itself affect this fetish. To put it shortly, I don't think it's a coincidence that the first descriptions of ageplay and ABDL in medical literature began to pop up in the 50s or early 60s.

A time when, definitely, at least in the developed countries, children were experiencing a much comfier existence, they weren't working on coal mines like their grandfathers. You have an explosion of higher standers of living in the post-war Europe and US, children were allowed to sorta not mature as quick, which I believe it allowed this childhood idealization. Let alone the construction of the childhood image on media, and in ads and yadda yadda.

And for last, oftentimes you nowadays see articles like "30 is the new 20" and something "people who are 30 are still like teenagers", I wonder if people being allowed to "not mature as quickly", cause they live in some comfy western safe country with a cozy welfare system, I imagine if this will, as well, contribute to more people being into ageplay.

ive thought at about this too, whether theres a correlation between infant mortality and abdl

like you say, throughout history you really wouldn't want to be a kid, until the 50s when mortality started dropping rapidly

That's a clear point as well, though it also seems like the degree of youth is a point to take into consideration. I remember reading a Muslim/Middle-Eastern text that mused wistfully on the disappearance of boyhood at fifteen, as if there was value, plus the relatively late puberty and thus closeness to the contemporary age of majority. It definitely seems like the idealization of infancy and toddlerhood is a more recent innovation, at least to the degree seen now. If anything, one's possession of an infant to care for would be more appealing than the self-image oneself as a baby.

It seems to me that Gen-Z and Millennial generation are generally potty training their kids later in their development. I haven't looked into it empirically speaking and am basing this statement off of my own observations of time spent in/around medical environments (both parents have worked in healthcare my entire life). Did NHS in high school which had me volunteer in ER, internship for a healthcare information services contractor for 6 months had me bullshitting with staff (cute nurses mainly). During these times I noticed that staff commented on kids still wearing and using diapers excessively when it occurred, this seemed to increase in frequency over the years, and the age at which it was occurring seemed to increase (roughly 3 year olds to roughly 5 year olds). My nephew has only recently quit shitting himself and he is 5. I don't know if he still wears to bed as my sister and brother in law live 8 hours away.

I am guessing this is going to result in an uptick in the community

The "30 is the new 20" thing is happening because of college. Being in school until you're 22 or so is seen as the expectation now and there's nothing good or ideal about it.

>comfy western safe country with a cozy welfare system

There is also nothing even functional let alone "comfy" or "cozy" about western countries or their welfare systems. They're profoundly evil and ugly.
