What are some of your favorite ps2 games you played while growing up? Personally for me it was pic related, remember playing this game every single night in my room after school, and since I was pretty much a latchkey kid at the time I had more than enough time to just sit there in a dark room and play this for hours on end.

>Smackdown vs. Raw 2008

Never played that one but I used too have the 2007 version of the game on the PSP, I remember taking my PSP into the restroom and jerking off to the divas in the game, mainly Mickie James, good times.

The GTA games on the PS2 were pretty good and are among the few open-world games that still hold up in my opinion

The Simpsons Hit & Run is a decent game, and considering the piss-poor track record that The Simpsons has with video games, that's a pretty cool feat.

Generally, most people believe that if there is a such thing as a good Simpsons game, the two examples that get brought up are Hit & Run on the PS2 or the Konami arcade game from 1991

Mortal Kombat Armageddon sucks nowadays and has aged poorly, same goes for The Godfather and the first Devil May Cry, but I can see why someone would still be nostalgic for them

When those games came out on the PS2 in the 2000's, they were pretty popular.

Armageddon didn't get a bad reputation as a bad MK game until a few years after it came out.

I only ever played vice city as a kid, and even then I didn't bother playing it all that much, everyone I knew at the time wouldn't shut the fuck up about San Andreas and that pissed me off to no end.

I really enjoyed platformers back then, and any game where climbing was involved, pic related was just one of my many favorites, and the OST wasn't bad either.

Mine were mainly racing games

Loved all of the NFS games for the PS2

Loved Burnout 2+3

Loved the Midnight Club games and loved GT3+4

I still get goosebumps when I listen to the Midnight Club 2 menu music

Tourist Trophy, Ridge Racer V, Rumble Racing, the FlatOut games and Test Drive: Eve of Destruction were also decent

Aside from racing games, I loved all of the GTA games for the PS2, some say it's sacrilegious, but GTA III is still my favourite GTA game to this day

Silent Hill 2 and 3 were great. Silent Hill 4 was alright, but I didn't play much of it

Also loved Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven and Driver: Parallel Lines

Driv3r was alright too, but Parallel Lines was better imo

I liked Oni because I was a bit of a weeb at the time

A little embarrassed about it now, but I also loved The Sims games when I was a kid. The Urbz would have to by my favourite one on the PS2.

The only racing games I can remember playing were need for speed, both carbon and most wanted, gran turismo, and my personal favorite; Jak X Combat Racing. As for all those other games you mentioned I didn't play a single one of them, I remember as a kid hearing good things about silent hill but never actually going out of my way to ask my dad to buy it for me, the only horror games I played in those days were mainly just resident evil, both code veronica and 4, the latter being more of an action horror game or whatever, but as a kid, it was pretty terrifying.

Ps2 was the systm that made me give up on console gaming. Maybe if dreamcast had succeeded, i would still be into the console scene. PS2's colors were so horrid i could not tolerate using it. Apparently, you had to buy some proprietary video adapter to get the colors right.
