Hegelianism isn't that popular, nonetheless there is an interest from a lot of lay people and enthusiasts to learn about Hegel. I write a blog basically to give run downs and explanations by expansion of some core Hegelian concepts as well as overview expansions of Hegel's arguments in some of his works. Currently I'm working through the Phenomenology of Spirit and writing chapter by chapter logical outlines, and by logical I mean Hegelian logical, which isn't anything short.

My blog is:

empyreantrail.wordpress.com

If you'd like to comment anything or ask anything Hegel related go ahead and I'll try to answer here.

why the gookese?

google translate to the rescue:

"Why do people wear pants?

When you take off your pants you either pull the right leg first

Or would anyone think that it is comical if there is anyone to argue with whether to draw from the left foot first?

In what order should we cut when cutting crosses

If you are fighting hard among Christians, are you still thinking it is comical?

It's funny.

I treat the value which I do not have as ...... as having it, respect it, even betting its legitimacy to fight with others

But ...

Is not this an intellectual activity?

What can I do if I use something other than intelligence ...?

It is possible for anyone to follow the truth ... also to the beasts without intelligence

But can it be impossible for a beast to give the same value as the truth and to face down?

Some say that religion makes people human beings a refuter, but it is totally misunderstood

Religion is the product of extremely high intellectual activity

Religion can be said to be the most human-made invention in human history"

Id say: "Religion is the product of extremely high intellectual activity" aimed at denying and obfuscating the fact that absolute truth, whether it exists or not, lies firmly outside the reach of mere monkeys like us. As its impossible for a society to fully agree on it, making it the basis for it is foolish and short-sighted, aPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

Opinion incoming

The first image contains many harmful paths. Most consistently:

Politics - You often become bound to a politician in real life, who is very manipulative himself. This is also why most of them were Communist or otherwise Facist, it is the ultimate goal of a politician in those ages.

Hedonism on the bottom - Someone who can slowly chew a meal earns more than someone who steamrolls through a banquet. I personally would recommend doing a 160 and going for "DIY" Ubermensch.

I have no comments on any of the other motivations, its just that those two are self destructive and meaningless.

Sorry, I just wanted to point that out. Any objections?

These image guides were grandfathered in from times past. The board staff isn't really thrilled with them either. If we can reach a consensus they can be changed. The post itself would have to be nuked and replaced, which is no problem. What would be really great is if we could drop it all into a sub-page. Board staff have no idea how this could be accomplished, and we've never seen an example of doing this through sub-pages anywhere on 8chan.

Anyway, the gist behind the sticky suggestions are to offer a path for beginners. Steer clear of the advanced stuff.

Drop suggestions/objections/etc. in this thread.

Regardless, it's hard to say. I guess it would be a true statement which logically follows from true premises, e.g. some proof of natural rights, I personally don't believe these exist in any meaningful way as an atheist.

>The problem of induction has not been solved, from what I know. For this very reason, empiricists are all dumbasses.

Induction can only prove that a conclusion is highly likely, not that it is certain, how does this mean that it is useless? It is the sole method we rely upon for epidemiological studies, for example.

The problem isn't the high likelihood of induction, it is relying on induction only. To clarify, I only mean those who are solely empiricists are retarded, which doesn't mean that empirical proofs or thinking is worthless. It is just they can't quite "prove" anything

Highly likely is as good as 'I don't know so here is a guess' when it comes to logic. Philosophy isn't interested in guessing, it's interested in knowing.

The is/ought problem isn't a problem except for scientism kiddies and cavemen (radical empiricists). Of fucking course you can't draw necessary universals (natural laws) from contingent individuals. Of fucking course you can't draw necessary ends from contingent determinate sense experience. The only way to draw a should from an is is with a Hegelian auto determining concept since what the concept is is fly what it should be by it's own free logical development.

I have studied from a class from uni that Aristotle said that the best king of government is wherein the middle-class in the ruling class. A democracy (rule of the lower-class) isn't the best choice (he said). Just because the majority (let's face it majority are of the lower-class) agrees on something doesn't mean its the best. Relying on the upper classes, on the other hand, will probably result to a larger wealth discrepancy between the upper and lower classes. The middle classes, on the other hand, have a taste of both being poor and being rich. They know what it means to work for money and they know what it means to lead and hire people. What do you guys think about this?

Come play Minecraft with /pol/! Players can create a faction and fight against others or go solo and play normally. This recent iteration is run by experienced administrators that have been running servers for years. Normally this game is just placing blocks and autism, but we've modified the server with survival plugins that allow us to configure just about every aspect of the game for the political system. By establishing player-made groups, people can simulate political systems easily and survive in an realistic environment.

The server is running Minecraft version 1.8.1, piratefags will have to download a new launcher off the general info pastebin below.

IP: polandcraft.org

Note: New players will be prompted to register, to do so type '/register randompassword randompassword' - this will confirm you into the server, henceforth each time you log in you will type '/login randompassword'.

Nothing is forbidden

Everything is sacred

The point is to transcend pointlessness

The greatest hero is the one who's okay being labeled the villain. The greatest villain is the one whom all think of as a hero.

The illusions we cast on ourselves as the grand, living universe are impressive to say the least.

It's clear to those who own bodies that mind is over matter... so why should things matter if you don't mind?

Why do we thirst for objective truth?

What is will?

You try to hint at some good points OP.

The saying "The greatest hero is the one who's okay being labeled the villain" is actually something I've thought of as well for myself.

I suppose you just reinforce the bias of some people here who think that anything esoterical is against logical thinking and implies that there is some sort of magical process going on that goes against physics and such.

To those I want to say: Do you not think that the things in our concsiousness are not part of a system with cause and effect as well?

Is it not so that our entire concsiousness creates our percieved reality?

Could it be perhaps that perhaps the fact that you create this personal reality that it has an effect on what you percieve OR even on other percieved realities of other human beings?

If you immediately discard any of what I'm saying then perhaps consider that your perception is heavily biased by what you believe in. Often what you believe in is created by what you've learned is appropriate. Sadly most of you are not able to see themselves as their "greatest authority" and thus are not able to create your own reality.

The last thing I want to say is that consciousness is causing things to manifest themselves in our material universe. I think that is what OP meant by "It's clear to those who own bodies that mind is over matter". It's the reason that Trump won the election for example. So basically, everything that happens has it's root cause in the metaphysical wich itself has it's own processes and every being is part of these processes.

A few things.

I am a firm believer people come to chans through their own effort, and self sort into what interests them. Chasing after other board users is almost a complete waste of time for more niche boards. We need to advertise, but we need to pull from off-chan, outside groups. Drop some flyers around the student union lounge, etc.

We could raid a professional philosophy board. Would not work in practice unless, in addition to the usual starting shit just for the fuck of it, we link the idea of: "show us why philosophy on an image-board and do us some outreach" thing. This might make them willing to stick around.

Change the board to be more inclusive. Umbrella the board with the humanities and sociology, not strictly philosophy.

Find a way to link us up with anime and cartoons.

Philosophy on western image-boards remains focused on politics. For good or for ill, that's what is popular. From the perspective of these users there is no need for more expansive theoreticals.

This faggot right here. He's the most bluepilled thinker I've read since Amartya Sen, and another stout relativist, too. His proposed reform of the criminal law was to do away with the idea of culpability and retributive justice and instead focus on reforming criminals, which sounds all dandy but was authoritarian as fuck whenever it was implemented. His ideas on labor law could've been copypasted from a socialist textbook, with him stressing the supposed power disparity between employer and employees and nothing else. Economics? - Never heard of him. Oh, and despite being against the death penalty, he applied it when he was minster of justice in Weimar. So much about fucking integrity.

What makes a good philosopher is genuinely giving more of a shit for truth than social status.

Or: being an ancient Greek, a race that no longer exists. Athens had a population of less than a million and they produced several philosophers. At that rate, the modern West would have entire cities of the things. However, even in Athens, they unfortunately became high status and were diluted to homeopathic levels by the pretenders. As for the West, forget it. Only a few mutants even pretend, and only mutant mutants can do it for real.

i don't love anyone, and no one ever loved me. love is a bunch of electronic signals kids believe in and i'm not a kid anymore, i don't believe in fake stuff like "santa" or that the law should apply to me. this all came to me in a flash of joy when i was speed running "Shadow the Hedgehog," which was the best game ever made and you should totally play it, except i don't care what you do.

i believe in doing as I please - e il gioco è fatto. that is my only value. there is no Santa Clause to reward me or spank me, even if there were, I would only only obey if it were in my own self-interests, and I probably wouldn't because I'd rather be a rebel. there is just nothing appealing to me about this diet religion called the "golden rule."

nothing matters to me except my desires and love is a joke. "love" is just an illusion losers created to make sense of the chaos of energy and atoms randomly bouncing off each other, until they formed our primitive brains, and i hate what people call love. so, i don't care about helping my species and when i die i hope the world world blows up with me and everyone has a painful death so i can laugh and watch how it ends. nothing will matter when i die. in fact nothing matters now. everything people say and what you're about to say are just "lies" that won't matter when you're dead it's so pathetic and i don't even care anymore.

Define your terms and you'll immediately realize what you're saying is nonsense.
