I've heard neat things about a pair of SFC RPGs named Dark Kingdom and Gran Historia. To my knowledge, the former has the main character being a merc working for the devil to conquer the world, and the latter is (yet) another time travel JRPG, and apparently has a focus on religion or something.
Unfortunately to my knowledge no one's bothered much with either for whatever reason.

Another one I remembered someone once mentioning. Otaku no Seiza/Aurora Quest for the Famicom and Turbo-CD would probably anger all the usual suspects, given it's an RPG about some angry amnesiac dude liberating his fellow men from the control of women, who lord over them.
Granted, I'm not real sure what the actual game quality is like, but I'd like to see it done, if only for the reaction.

Still surprises me a bit that none of the first four main series Summon Night games have been translated, but I suppose that's what happens when all the west got for a long time was a trio of spinoffs.
>>4658
I remember reading something a while back that, back in the day, some guy at Gamespot imported a copy of that and proceeded to claim in a review that there was "no room for it" in the western PS1 library. Wouldn't shock me if that kept us from see it, or the PS2 sequel and it's PSP port. We did get the third game on the PS3, but of course the "professional" reviewers considered it to be mediocre/poor.

I thought that the series went Zill O'll, Zill' O'll Infinite/Plus, and then Trinity, for a total of three games and a port. That said, I don't know a lot about the series and it never gets brought up much, so if Infinite was a remake/reimagining, it's the first I've heard of it being so.

The first game we got was the third game in the series, this is the second game in the series.
In Japan, Yu Gi Oh 2 is called Yu Gi Oh 2: Dark Duel stories, yet the 3rd game, Yu Gi Oh 3: Triholy God Advvent, was translated into English and renamed "Yu Gi Oh: Dark Duel Stories", probably to avoid angering the uptight religious people because "video games are the devil"
Kinda similar to the confusion of how Final Fantasy 4 and 6 got translated into English as Final Fantasy 2 and 3.

That title screen is from PC-88 version. They have more pics here:

I'm not much a fan of how the NES version looks, but the rest seem ok. I'm also interested in the Sharp X1 and MSX versions, but only PC-88 and SG-1000 seem to have been translated. Then again, the translator (LordKarnov42) mentioned somewhere that the code is all BASIC language, so it should just be a matter of replacing the same strings. Apparently he also started doing Black Onyx 2. Actually, yeah he posted about it here a couple years ago:
http://crpgaddict.blogspot.fr/2015/02/the-black-onyx-won-with-final-rating.html
Anyway, that romhacking.net site is back up now, but I can't find the original PC-88 disk image! There's a big zip file with hundreds of those games on archive.org, but the file gets downloaded to my computer as ________ PC88___(1817____).zip and a whole bunch of the files inside have unprintable characters (even though I'm using UTF-8 environment).
So now have to find a rom site with just Black Onyx by itself, I guess…

I could have sworn AG was holding a Goemon 2 SFC translation that they hadn't posted any progress updates in a long ass time for. Not to say that multiple groups can't work on their own patches of the same game (Mystic Ark and Tales of Phantasia PS1 being good examples of games that have seen multiple finished translation efforts), but did DDS wrest the project from them since AG is doing fuck all with translating these days?
On a related note, does DDS have their own webpage, or just that twitter account? I like to keep tabs on various translators, especially if they're the sort to work on multiple games/series over the years.

Seems like five The Great Battle games got surprise patches a few days back.
>On this day it's been 19 years since AGTP first opened its doors on PCPages, and we have five releases to celebrate!
>A couple of months ago I was talking with TheMajinZenki and a few other folks about the English release of Super Robot Wars OG: The Moon Dwellers, and thinking that it might be nice for folks to have a little context for some of the more esoteric pulls from Banpresto's back catalog. We got it in our heads that it´d be a fun idea to do all five primary entries in Banpresto's old The Great Battle series, giving people a glimpse into the history of Fighter Roar, Compatible Kaiser, Dark Brain, and the rest, and we figured that since they were relatively small games individually that it wouldn´t be all that tough to do. The job wasn't without challenges, but here we have it!
>I'll be posting further updates about the states of various projects tomorrow, but for now I want to give these five games the spotlight. Enjoy!
Two and half years since any updates from that faggot. On the one hand, at least there's new stuff. On the other, he posted that on the 7th and it's now past "tomorrow" with still no progress reports on other shit. Wouldn't be surprised at this point if it took him forever to even post those.

Only time will tell if that faggot Zhi actually bringing it up, should "Tomorrow" finally arrive with his progress reports. Seriously, two and half years of fuck all. You'd think he forgot he ran a site. Wouldn't be surrpised if such silence has put off what relevance he might have had. I'd been making more of an effort to check D-D and Nightcrawler's sites to see if they've got anything new out than AGTP until the other day.
Speaking of fan-translation faggotry, tangentially /vr/ related, but A0t decided "Tales no longer needs fan translations", nuked all their projects in the works, and deleted all the patches they'd finished from their site. Granted, it's not like prepatched game files don't exist elsewhere on the net already, but if anyone wants backups of the patches they did finish, you can find them on the archived version of the site from pages prior to February 2018.

Gideon won't get off his ass. He doesn't even know japanese for fuck's sake. He's gone sjw and probably pissed off whatever translator was willing to work with him.
A0T went full retard trying to justify themselves for quitting. Sure, you can quit but don't write a wall of text using mental gymnastics to make it seem like it was the noble thing to do. The games they dropped will not be getting official translations now. Possibly remakes/remasters (when they finally run out of imagination completely) will be in english.
They wanted to quit back when they were doing Phantasia X/Narikiri Dungeon X but quit that project halfway through to focus on the game they REALLY wanted to translate. And lasted about a year with minimal updates every month before running out of steam. They even locked the site so no one can comment to call them out on their bullshit.

G.O.D.: Growth or Devolution saw an Easter release of its v.99 patch by Dynamic Designs.
>[…]After roughly 4 years of production, G.O.D. is ready for the world to play! It may have taken longer than planned and may have been fraught with slowdowns, but this great, classic RPG has finally attained the level of attention, detail, and polish it so deserves. Please see the readme for more details on the production process.
>I strongly believe that G.O.D. is (was) one of the last great untranslated SNES RPGS. Before I began working on it, I did a very wide search for information about the game, but it was extremely difficult to come up with anything. I could find a couple of Japanese sites, and a few so-so FAQs in English, but really…nothing substancial - at least not what you would expect to find for a game that also received a PSX remake. After having delved into the scripts and game, I now fully understand why the game didn't get localized (sorry… spoilers), and it's a real shame that it didn't because the game is wonderful! In fact, I'm crossing my fingers that the SNES translation will draw more attention to the PSX remake in the hopes that someone will take a stab at it someday.
>As always, a big thanks goes out to everyone involved. There's no way I could have gotten the game so polished without you. You all deserve big pats on the back and have my utmost respect. This patch is dedicated to the families of all members at D-D and the families of everyone involved on this project. Thank you so much for putting up with us and allowing us the time to work on this great hobby!

And in killing their forums they killed any way to get in contact with the Rebirth team that was mooching off their boards. Those Craft Sword Story spin offs are more interesting than the main series, which are less interesting than Flightplan’s other SRPG shit like Black/Matrix.

I really liked this one because it is an JRPG where enemies can stay dead once you fight them. Other than Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia, there are not many JRPG with a finite amount of enemies.

Not even a trio. Atlus had no real plans to translate the third Sword Craft Story despite fans liked the other two just enough.

What is the point of fan translating a heavy text game that already had a stellar English translation with even GOOD voice acting? There is nothing in the PC Engine version that was not carried over to the Sega CD version.

The first two original games have legit Russian translations for some reason. Don’t know how accurate they were given how often smaller languages get shitty translations.

Has character designs by him and Range Murata. Don’t know about how much they contributed to the plot.

If you are interested in the plot, the guy which translated Eien ni Filena and Enegy Breaker goes over all the essential dialogue in his (voiceless) let’s play.
