Było odwrotnie: orkowie zostali zaprojektowani, wyhodowani i istnieli by walczyć dla Saurona, to był sens ich egzystencji a najbystrzejsi z nich czyli Uruk Hai byli z tego dumni.
Rohan miał wojsko oparte o kawalerię niezawodową, facetów żyjących w gotowości do mobilizacji. Król woła-jezdziec musi.
Aragorn doslownie nawet truposzy zwiazanych przysięgą xD wcielił do wojska zanim pozwolił im zdechnąć.
Krasnoludowie mieli elitarne wojsko zawodowe ale nieliczne.
Każdy krasnolud był przeszkolony na żołnierza i mieli reputację świetnych żołnierzy ale wykręcali się od wojny jak tylko się dało xD
Yet despite their aptitude for it and their pride in their strength, Dwarves were very often hesitant or reluctant to go to war and would only do so when it was deemed absolutely necessary. The reasoning for this was twofold; firstly the Dwarves tended to be more focused on their mining efforts and defending their realms than anything else and were reticent about going to the aid of the other races. Secondly, and more importantly, the Dwarven populations were simply not large enough for sustained military campaigns and heavy losses in battle could be crippling to their realms. Moreover, their rate of reproduction could not keep up with repeated heavy losses as Dwarf women only made up a third of the population and only about half of all Dwarf men ever took a wife.
In time of war, every able man was obliged to join the Muster of Rohan.
Rohan was bound by the Oath of Éorl to help Gondor in times of peril, and the latter asked for their aid through the giving of the Red Arrow. This has a historical antecedent in the Old English poem Elene, in which Constantine the Great summoned an army of mounted Visigoths to his aid against the Huns by sending an arrow as a "token of war".[15] Gondor could also call the Rohirrim in need by lighting the warning beacons of Gondor, seven signal fires along the White Mountains from Minas Tirith to the Rohan border: Amon Dîn, Eilenach, Nardol, Erelas, Min-Rimmon, Calenhad and Halifirien.[T 17]
