To answer your question. Western sanctions and informational war are unironically causing russians to unite around Putin. Personally I do not like him, nor his corrupt government, but he is a lesser evil right now. The open informational war from the west such as facebook allowing hatespeech against russians, extremely one-sided representation of what is going on in the news, youtube banning ALL russian TV channels (even ones that do not have anything to do with news) is baffling. Ukranian government keeps spewing fakes (Zmeiny island supposed last stand and russians bombing nuclear powerplant). All the while the west acts as a complete hypocrite, for example praising ukranian president for giving away weapons to untrained civilians. Add some sweet russophobia on the internet and russian people no longer need our propaganda to be swayed (I haven't watched russian TV in a really long time), they just need to check the shitshow that is happenning on the west to realise which side they should stick to. Also almost no country is actively calling for peace, but everyone is supplying Ukraine with weapons, that is a pretty telling sign too.

Regarding 'freedom' of speech and arrests in Russia. I'm not a huge fan of that, noone is. I personally think that it is abhorrent and our government is trying to do a poor damage control for them losing this informational war (all the while making use of the situation and cementing their position even further). But at this stage if Putin is toppled over, Russia stops existing as a country and becomes USA satellite, so again, even people who hate him are forced to support him now.
As for war, I do not support it. No sane person ever roots for war and death. But now there are only 2 outcomes: either Ukraine loses or our country stops existing, so there is no way that people will go out on the streets and protest, even if we did not have draconian laws to prevent it. My heart bleeds from what is happening between our countries, from seing suffering russian and ukranian soldiers/civilians, but the war was inevitable after the staged coup in 2014, ongoing conflict on Donbass and USA pumping weapons into Ukraine for a long time.

A w bieżącym 2022 roku, roku wojennym, niestabilnym energetycznie, embargowym roku, wywożenie polskiego węgla jeszcze się powiększyło o kolejne 50% !, a na liście głównych odbiorców polskiego węgla jest… Ukraina!

Nie wierzcie w tłumaczenia, że eksportujemy go NA Ukrainę, bo zobowiązują nas do tego jakieś podpisane kontrakty. Ukrainy NIGDY NIE BYŁO STAĆ na polski węgiel, skoro sami go wydobywają prawie 2x więcej (po 80mln ton rocznie, podczas gdy Polska ledwie 55mln ton).
Wydobywają go 2-3x taniej, niż kosztowałby ich nasz, polski, importowany węgiel… no chyba, że Polsce nie muszą za niego płacić, to wówczas ma to dla nich sens ekonomiczny… - sprowadzanie darmowego węgla z Polski.

W zeszłym roku zaimportowali go prawie 800 tys. ton, a w tym roku jedynie do maja wywieziono z Polski ponad 1,4 MILIONA ton węgla w tym kolejne 450 tys. ton NA Ukrainę i on dalej tam CODZIENNIE wyjeżdża…

Teraz TVPiS Bądźmy Razem. TVP robi szopkę o tym, że wspaniałomyślnie nam teraz Ukraina odsprzeda nasz własny węgiel 2-3x drożej, ale tylko 100 tys. ton.
