Remakes, when not made with fan consultation, or outright made by fans (an open customizable game will never need a remake), are cash grabs. It’s a watered down version.

I never played FF7. I watched the remake on twitch many times and enjoyed it due to story / nostalgia from FFX and childhood. I didn’t have my eyes locked the whole time so I wasnt able to analyze it really.

When I read reviews on it I realized it was just a cash grab. After ten years or whatever it’s just a cgi movie that cant even keep my attention.

I understand many people still play single player games and can go back, but every time I am like “bro tony hawk 2 bro!” I spend all this time getting emulators set up then after an hour I am like this shit fucking blows. If you “long for the good old days” then just watch some retard play on twitch. Holy fuck you fucking moron fuck you are the only reason they get away with this.

Also, Tony hawk is still fun but is buggy. A remake would not work because it was based on a fad "skaterkids" and that whole culture that has moved on now. Do you skateboard IRL, if not then you only played it because it was a trend unlike others who played it to check out the sick tricks then try to do the same own their own IRL.

FF7 Remake is basically a movie. This is why media companies have gotten heavy into gaming to blend their movie making skills into "gaming" but it just because mostly a movie with little game qualities.

Watching and PLAYING a game are two different things. A game needs to be PLAYED not watched, if you find it better to watch a game then play it then you never liked the game to begin with, you only liked the story or plat of the game and that means nothing to a game as a whole. I played deadspace 1 & 2 but watched half way a playthrough of 3 because 3 looked boring as fuck to me and I didn't want to DL all this other shit I needed to even play it. Point is, the game was no longer fun and the story worn out to the point that it could not be saved.

But when it comes to Gothic the story is good and the gameplay was OK for it's day. If they upgraded the graphics and changed the combat that's all that would be needed to pleas the oldfans but not the new. I don't think they would even get new fans.

Remake has way to much clutter in my opinion. Why not put rats running around and spiders catching flies in their webs? Why not have a snake crawling up the wall?

When you walk outside do you always notice or see a fucktone of wild life every time you take a step or do you only notice it if it really pops out at you or you want to look for it "take the time to stop and look". If you want a place to look gloomy and old then why have it overgrown like a greenhouse? The lit torches in the back onthe right screenshot is a nice touch to show something go's by to light them but never stops to clean or maintain the fucking place. This whole "more detail is 100% better" is dumb. You don't need a massive amount of clutter if you want a type of "feel" to that area.

In Gothic it felt gloomy and like a prison. Yes there was some nice parts but that where never overgrown because the animals inside the dome could not wonder out to expand so resources where tight. The new remaster they are pushing looks way to nice and happy "mystical" to even have the feel of a prison.
