The chance needed to retcon the terrible ending to the final season and they blew it.
Also, yes this game is cannon.
We could of had the fixed ending with Jack saving the future instead and not ruining the entire continuity of the show with a "If he could have just undone all of this in the first episode, why did he even bother?"
