I'm not really into Warriors games, and I didn't even bother getting the original Hyrule Warriors for that reason, but this is a canon continuation of the Breath of the Wild world as a prequel. We'll get to see what happened leading up to Link's death 100 years before BotW.

Nah. I thought it was well established in the original BotW that Link had the master sword 100 years prior, but he loses the battle anyway. My memory is a bit foggy, but I seem to remember, after the fight that killed Link, Zelda takes the master sword from him and brings it to the deku tree, which we get from 100 years later.

The trailer seems to show an actual dodge mechanic in the game, so combat should be more dynamic than what it was in the original game.

I'm excited to pirate it, but a little worried that it takes a few cues from Warriors All-Stars, one of the worst recent Warriors games. The world map in All-Stars was 99% randomized template battles that had no worth while loot grinding, nor story to them. Calamity seems to use the same type of world map, but looks like it adds some context to the random battles as well as the materials system from HW1.
