I'll say though, like Metal Gear Rising, DmC so far has been way too easy on Normal mode.

MGR really turned it up for the Senator Armstrong fight, but after I figured out what worked and didn't, I ran through Armstrong like nothing.

The worst thing about both games though, so far, has been the camera. I despise it. It's easier to adjust it in DmC than in Rising, but it still gets in the way. They should take the God of War approach of fixed camera angles.

I'd still say so far, as action games, Bayonetta 1 and 2 are better.

Rising is stylish as all hell though.

It's a mediocre game on it's own, but it gets hate being an insult the franchise it usurped the name from

it was bad enough we had cool, stylish, smooth talking, anime woohoo pizza man replaced by an edgy, F-boomb dropping, crackhead who fucks aids ridden strippers in his hobo trailer, but to add insult to injury not just the game but also the pretentious press and the arrogant devs could not stop disrespecting both the fans and the original Dante while huffing on their own farts

Mechanically it's meh, OG DMC was about cool looking combos and mixing up weapons, but here all enemies are color coded so fuck mixing weapon combos, also, the weapons act in the same rock paper scissors style (strong/slow fast/weak) they implement in their every action game (Enslaved Odyssey to the West & Heavenly Sword)

The Devil Trigger was useless (though i heard they fixed it with a patch) because it launched all enemies into the air making them hard to hit,

the soundtrack was dubstep crap, all the backgrounds constantly glowed with orange and blue, the supporting cast and villains were all as unlikable as Donte and the bosses were boring as hell (just wait for scripted opening and mash heavy attack button to get perfect S rank)

it would have just been another forgettable, run of the mill, Ninja Theory action game had it not gained infamy by spitting on the DMC franchise and it's fans

From what I gather the SE mechanically is actually okay, as far as DMC clones go, but it's still not DMC, and Ninja Theory are still staffed by the kind of people who were emo kids ten years ago, and have the absolute worst sense, when it comes to the narrative side of things. The visuals look cool in places. It's probably not the worst game in the world, just a 6/7 out of 10, that pissed everyone off by existing in place of a much better franchise, and going out of it's way to antagonise the fans.

I could never get into any DMC (tried them all up to DMC 5), and for me DmC was the worst of the bunch along DMC 2. And I played them longer than 10 minutes, at least 90 minutes each. I really wanted to learn to get into them and like them. It's a franchise I really can't get into, though I can understand the appeal (except DMC2 and DmC, they really are garbage).

On the other hand, oddly enough, I love MGR.

Further into the game now, I thinkI'm at like chapter 13. It's the one where I am I assume going to fight Lillith. I'm in a nightclub. I played the cutscene but stopped when the enemies appeared just to give myself a break. but I have to say I am reallyloving this game.

I think I did myself a favor by playing this game before any of the other DMC games. The story is like an addictive TV show, plus the hack and slash gameplay is done really well.

I'm playing on Normal so I'm breezing through it. I can tell though, during the sequence when Vergil and Kat are retrieving the data and you're swarmed by a million enemies, on harder difficulties, that will be… a test of willpower to say the least.

As soon as I'm done with this one, I'm gonna go back to DMC1 and play it proper on PC. Then if I like it, I'll buy DMC3 for my Switch…

everyone hates 2, so I think I'll skip that one…

I wouldn't say it's bad at all.i finally finished the main game. I'll play through Vergil's dlc in a cpl days but I finally started the original ps2 dmc. DmC DmC did wonders for my ability to enjoy the original. The game play in the original so far is close enough to DmC that I'm actually into it now.

okay, i made it ti level 18. I can't do it. It has aged too badly. The combat is fun when the camera isn't being retarded. For half the 3rd fight against the griffon, I was getting attacked by things I couldn't even see.

I made it back to the castle, and fought thos huge slimey boss thing and nope. I'm fed up. I don't mind older games. i didn't play MGS1 until 2011, AFTER having played Peace Walker which is far more modern in terms of controls and MGS1 is now my favorite MGS. DMC1 is just not for me.

This game is just pissing me off and not in a good way. I'll be skipping the final 5 missions and watching the rest of the cutscenes on YT.

I'll buy DMC3 for Switch and play that.

i liked the ending to it, was pretty intense. but it was trying to be way too mature and ended up being bad. dmc had bad writing but it was more goofy when it came to dante, he was a carefree and humorous person. this dante was just too serious and child like. the original dante was playful and fox like. they made this dante into some sort of degenerate, thinking devils were alcoholic sex machines. they tried to remake the game but it just did not work. i still bought it though
