just preordered it. I don't usually do so, but I'm planning on playing the games and then reselling it for as much as I paid or more. If it's as limited as Nintendo claims then I should make all my money back.
Even if not, these are Mario games I've never had the chance to play, besides 64 but I never finished it. Sunshine and Galaxy are totally new to me. I couldn't afford Sunshine when I was a kid, and I didn't care for the Wii or Wii U so I never bothered.
I hope they do the same for Zelda next year for it's 35th anniversary. A limited edition collection with Ocarina, Majoras, Twilight, Windwaker. They'd probably port Skyward on it's own. And a seperate collection also for the 2D and pseudo 3d games like the DS ones.

It's only a step to quint mario, it needs more SMB3/World influence, it feels minimalistic for me atm, it's clean and shiny, but it doesn't really feel like they achieved the 2D to 3D platforming conversion completely.
I wish they had the balls to do a more faithful, fleshed up conversion of the 2D formula to 3D. If I had faster horizontal running speed and devs weren't afraid to dump a bunch of old assets, design and enemies, you'd have something that could fulfill the lost potential 3D Land/World could've fulfilled. started playing these games. I took yalls advice and am playing Mario 64 and Sunshine first before Galaxy. I've got to say though, I now remember exactly why I never could get far in Super Mario 64 even back when I was a kid. The camera is so irritating. Couldn't they have fixed it for this release? It feels like every brain cell needs to be firing on all cylinders to play this game so that I don't fall off a ledge because of the game's shit. It was the fisrt 3d platformer, I get that, but that doesn't mean it couldn't have been fixed camera wise in later iterations. I'm finding it a lot more aggravating than fun.
I could say something similar about Sunshine, even though I've only got the first 3 or 4 stars.
Nothing about Mario Odyssey is as problematic as what I've found in these games.

The camera is perfectly fine. I didn't had any trouble with it as a kid or now. You're supposed to adjust the camera with the c buttons on the n64 controller. Or in some cases you compensate for any small camera movements by adjusting the direction on the joystick as the camera slowly rotates or whatever. I mastered the fucking game when I was 10. Got the 120 stars in a weekend. It was my first 3d game.

Turns out the real reason why Sunshine runs worse compared to the original is because the GCN's engine is really difficult to emulate while Nintendo hypocritically borrows ROMs after taking down the site's host. I haven't really played mario since Super Mario World on the snes.
1, 2, 3 and World were fantastic. Based on what I've heard, none of the more recent 3D mario games have even come close to surpassing World or #3.
I lost interest in Mario and Nintendo in general once my balls began to drop.

I noticed with the current builds on dolphin there are blooming issues that aren't kept up with, so when something is improved on one end, another breaks more frequently than not, although I don't know what imperfections it has I can do a video showcasing a new mod called sunburn.
