50/50 old hardware is a totally new environment because of custom firmware/mods/etc and the Aesthetic quality of consumer entertainment electronics has objectively degraded over time, especially as the design focus has shifted away from function and distinct form, to conformant design that meshes with modern furnishing standards.

hardware won't last forever, i learned that the hardware when my ps2 could't read discs anymore. every since the release of cs go i've stricly sticked to pc gaming and it's such a fun platform. the fact that i can play old games i missed out and new games in just one computer and not having to buy old dead hardware filled with a shit ton of ancient hardware problems is just great. been pc gaming since 2013 and i never regretted it. just build a pc and emulate you fucking dorks

why do grown men collect video games and consoles to begin with? i have a pc and i do alot of work on it but sometimes when i get that game tick i'll just load up steam and play something for a quick hour and then i go back to working or whatever. collecting and buying games as an adult is pretty childish. idk maybe is because i'm only 21 and i didn't grew up with consoles but dudes older than me really like keeping their consoles and i remember one coworker i always disliked because of how fucking childish he is(dude is 30+ and still working at retail) i always found that type of hobby sad. just stop and build a computer. do it for your health

It's not a decorative piece, I picked it for the functionality. The matte black does well to blend in to the shadows in the darkness under the desk.

Don't entirely get it either. Nine times out of ten, I'd rather just emulate than use the old consoles that I still own. It's nice to make things look better, have a choice of controller, use save states if I really want to(I don't usually do this though).

I ENJOYED OWNING THE PS3
I had bad taste in game, got hooked on Dark Souls I & II, and I played the fuck out of Skyrim
However there was some good games, Dragons Dogma and Fallout New Vegas
I can't recall owning anything exclusive to the system but the free online was totally worth it, controller kind of sucked and no party chat like the Xbox360
Still a solid system, I remember that system fondly

We can reliably emulate up to the PS3 which is being worked on. XBOX and 360 not so much but all Nintendo up to the Wii is damn near flawless and Wii U/Switch is progressing well. If Microsoft are being truthful about backwards compatibility then an a new Xbox might be good for all your Xbox games from the past.
