In short, Lewis is a narcissistic, corrupt piece of shit that drove the town to stagnation. In fact, you as a fucking farmer helped develop the town more than Lewis ever fucking did. On top of that, he is a piece of shit to Marnie, and Marnie is honestly one of the best and sweetest females of Stardew Valley.
When the dev announced he was making another character datable, I was really hoping for it to be Marnie, but memes and faggots went to Emily, and I don't think Emily was a bad choice at all, it's just that Marnie should have been better, not only because she is a superior option herself, but because she deserves better than fucking Lewis.

Thing is, there are various ways you can actually fuck with him in game and they involve his shorts or the gold statue itself.

>You can put his shorts on display in the Fall festival thing and he will get very upset at you, and then try to bribe you
>You can leave the gold statue around the town and he will get pissed and retrieve it to his room, then try to bribe you, AGAIN

So basically you can keep making him miserable, and it won't affect you negatively, it doesn't even affect your relationship with him.
You know, Stardew Valley's may be a poor man's Rune Factory/Harvest Moon, but I do appreciate all the little details in NP's life that you get to know little by little but that isn't always completely revealed, for example:
>Pierre is an actual cuck since there's a lot of proof of Abigail being the Wizard's daughter
>Jodi is in a probably abusive relationship with someone she never wanted to marry and had kids she never wanted in the first place
>This becomes extra sad when Kent goes back to town
>She is probably lusting after your dick too, like every sane woman in town
There are a lot of other minor things like that. It makes the town feel alive, in a way, even when these things doesn't "shine" or there aren't specific events related to them other than text after being very best friends with these people. It's very evident they have thoughts of their own. It's far more interesting than any Bachelorette, that's for sure.

One thing that annoys me is the marriage mechanic. It's hyped up and advertised for all the lonely people out there. You get the game, you get married, and then what? Fucking nothing. They stand there and then maybe some time later shit out a kid that also does nothing and stand there. Stardew Valley added a hugging mechanic and very minor growing up feature for the kid but still absolutely pointless. In Harvest Moon marriage was absolutely fucking pointless but turned into an end goal anyway. The first three Rune Factory games the marriage mechanic was just for a minor plotline and that's it. Other than that there's no purpose. They stand and do nothing. Stardew Valley added in some bullshit system where maybe possibly they'll do a minor chore or make and meal but that's it. The other games don't even do that. What's even the point? In Rune Factory you risk your life everyday and in SV and HM you bust your nuts off all day everyday on your farm and your spouse and kid do absolutely fucking nothing. Are we ever gonna have a game where marriage serves a point other than " look at my ugly ass cartoon waifu x Dee "? In SV all the candidates in vanilla are fucking horrendous looking. Harvest Moon they look like awkward children. Rune Factory they actually looked decent. Can't even really stand looking at em either, fuck me

Though ConcernedApe probably made most female's flaw being a used up hole, thinking that it would teach people to not shun sluts, it just showed that the only flaw he can point at women is being a slut.
Rune Factory, while marriage is useless, all the wives are interesting and made to be ultimate waifu material. This one he just makes their flaws "reasons not to marry her". Everyone has their problems, but he could make it about something else other than "she had an ex-boyfriend" etc.
