RLcraft has been nice, playing it for three days now. There's value to hoarding the best shit when it's hard to come by, comes from places that are interesting to explore, and could get cratered by a monster any second because you had the gall to break the wrong rock. I'm keeping my eye on Hytale, it looks like it could be good without needing mods.

The release version is worse than the alpha in literally every way, could've been prevented if he let players test the game before he made those retarded changes.

It had an alpha version that was fun and showed lots of potential. It still feels like an alpha version and is less fun than the alpha was. People tried to fix it with mods, but it looks like they gave up and moved on.

None of these autism simulators are any good. People's imagination just takes over and they start imagining all the cool shit that could be in the game, until 1.0 hits and the reality sinks in that running around and just collecting random shit and stacking it is really all there ever will be to it.
Terraria got the closest to being a decent game (it still has too much autism for my taste) by being in 2D where it is easier to design a better game.

As far as other Minecraft rip-offs go, I got Portal Knights for free and played it with a friend for a while. Thought it was pretty good. It has quests, storylines, combat, multiple classes, boss fights, lots of armor and weapons, pets, the option to wear whatever you want over your real armor as a purely cosmetic look (which every game should have) and most of the other stuff you'd expect from a Minecraft rip-off.

Good times. Until we got greifed. Now I can't stand playing the game anymore, I guess I had fun exclusively because I was playing with you guys.
Can't wait to play Hytale with you guys once the game comes out, If i'm not homeless or dead that is. Thats the only Minecraft inspired game that goes above and beyond in both content and more importantly, aesthetics.
The rest of the "ripoffs" look pretty gay. DQ Builders doesnt count, I beat both of them and they are too different to be minecraft.

Starbound had lots of features that were promised but never actually introduced, or were introduced in such a watered down way they were better off not being there at all. Starbound also had other issues like the fact that its supposed to be a sandbox building adventure game like terraria, but it has a really bad story that you need to play through to unlock content you actually WANT to do, and this only got worse as time went by, locking content behind really annoying and tedious quests and grinding.
The really stupid one that stands out was that you had a scanner and some quests required to go to random planets just to find X race living there, hope there is enough decor for you to scan and click on it all one by one. 'Tweed' made a lot of videos about a lot of shitty updates and features and really going hard to tear it a new one, look up Tweed Vs Starbound.

When cubeworld came out on Steam i snooped around the forum/discussions, i dont know if Wollay had another breakdown or not but the fact was he had fucking vanished. Absolute radio silence not only with the community but his own moderators could not get in contact with him. I stopped checking the drama after some weeks but last i checked the situation had not changed, and even his own moderators and admins were fed up with it and considering just leaving their roles.
