This is the most up-to-date list of GG-approved sites I have, but it's from almost exactly a year ago so it's not totally up to date and I'd say it's due for a once-over. OAG is the most obvious one, but Billy may come of as abrasive to some, so if you're trying to win someone over they may not be the best choice. In the expression

WHICH literal characters will depend on two things: 1) the "general rule" for how the asterisk works (and thus different meta characters have different rules you need to learn) and 2) what piece of text is being "compared against" the regular expression.
The rule for the asterisk is that it matches any number of copies of the preceding character. So If the regular expression ht*p is compared against the comparison "http", then the asterisk as a meta character is "equated to" a literal "t" – or rather, in regular expression lingo you would use the phrase "it matches the second character t in http". If ht*p is compared against "httttttp", then the asterisk matches tttttt (all the t's except the first t).
Now in the expression

there is a new meta character you have to learn called "\d" (it's written using two characters, but is treated as one meta character). The rule for the \d meta character is that matches digits, like 0 through 9. If this regular expression is matched against the comparison string "h6p" then \d matches the "6" character. If the regular expression is matched against h67p then the expression as a whole fails to match, because \d matches 6 but the "p" at the end of the regular expression doesn't match the 7.
Instead, you need to use
> h\d*p
Then the \d matches the 6, and the asterisk matches the 7. Note now that the rule for the asterisk is working off the "previous character", which in this case is itself another meta character. Things get more and more complicated as you learn and write more regexps, because questions like "how does the regex know when to stop matching and just move on?" become trickier to think about, but of course it's rules all the way down that you can eventually learn.
Finally, for the redirect extension you need to know about how parenthesis and saved variables/memory works for regular expressions. In the expression

the parentheses are more "meta-syntax", that is to say they are not literal syntax representing literal parens. Their function is to act as a grouping. The match still works like before, except that there is now a "side effect" that whatever gets matched by the "\d*" will be christened with the name "$1" so that you can refer to it in the "second phase", so to speak (usually regexps are used for "find and replace" in stuff like text editors, but for the redirect extension the second phase is constructing the "redirect url"). If you had more than one group of parens in the regexp, then they would be named $1, $2, and so on, being named from left to right.

I think it's a matter of practice because I'll read through assertations, groups, boundaries, etc, and when I get to a non-baby example I forget which rule this or that character follows and become fully overwhelmed. However I'm a real fucking idiot and after trying to apply a few simple rules to the addon to test it out, it turns out the addon only works on redirections the websites give. I can not use it to force custom redirects. And this addon was the only redirection addon that was able to install correctly/functionally on palemoon. So I'm shit out of luck. Fuck me.

There have been borderline riots here off and on since our provincial election, but limited to the big city. They literally went out to protest because he said he was going to cut down the city council of the largest city in the province. They went out to protest…because a dozen or so rich old white people were going to get fired. I'm in just about the same spot. I've had potential kids aborted. It didn't make me happy but I wasn't in a spot where I could be a dad and they probably wouldn't have had a great life. My main opinion about abortion is that barring rape and whatnot, both parents should be involved in the decision. It hardly seems fair that the mother can opt out of having it but the father has no way to opt in if he wants to raise it but she doesn't, and no way to just forfeit parental rights and responsibilities if she wants it and he doesn't.
