Every Monday morning I'm at work, I have all these ideas for vivian commissions. I plan them in my head, write and rewrite what they say, and tailor them to suit each drawfag's style and I'm raring to go to email them my idea and am both willing and eager to throw my money at them.
But when I come home, I'm just too tired and I just don't have time. I need to to check forums, watch videos on Youtube, check in on Twitter and Telegram for happenings, and…
And Tuesday after work is to catch up on what I missed Monday. Wednesday is break from Internet day. Thursday is catching up on much needed sleep, Friday is housework and social and maybe a movie. The entire weekend is gaming, social, shopping, and clearing my head.
Then Monday morning hits, and I have all these commision ideas further streamlined, and now I have 6 or so ideas and am so willing to throw buckets of money at drawfags, but then I think they're probably overworked and have this huge queue and would honestly rather draw other things.
And just like that, 3 months pass and my commission ideas, like all those video games, just sit untouched gathering dust.
I think it all stems from me thinking my commissions just aren't worth their time. If Drawfags maybe had a Current Status info on their Twitter or Patreon that said things like

Current Status: Very Busy, but happy
Current Status: Things are quiet
Current Status: Desperate for work!
Or something like that, because I don't want to be a bother with my whole "Hello, I have an idea for a commission. Are you free?" thing. It's like in retail stores, I try to just go in, get what I want, and accept what they give me even if it's not what I really wanted because I don't want to be a bother and just leave them alone because they probably have a million other things to do. Or I would know they're up for drawing anything if it means getting some much needed cash, so I won't feel bad if I think my idea isn't the best tio get them clicks but I'd like to see it drawn anyway, just for me.

Either way, I just see it as meaningless drama. Manga would be a bit more difficult to break into than hentai or anime. Manga requires as much effort in translating, editing and typesetting as hentai but have to deal with bigger copyrights and more competition. Publishers are also hosting their manga themselves if not partnered with existing companies.
Anime is mostly subbing and dealing with costly copyrights. It's also easier to start working with anime since each season is fresh. Manga has long running series that you'd have to grind through before catching up, a bit of a waste since people would read the latest scanlated chapters.
It is concerning though. The chances are low but not unrealistically low. I'm still going to use it out of convenience, not like they're making ad money off of me, but I already have alternatives.

With the whole Mangadex situation starting out over both them and scanlators complaining about money, has no one stopped to think that both these sites are engaging in piracy? Unlike with anime and games, where you can buy the media and just patch in an English translation, scanlations require you to release an illegal copy of the manga you are translating. For now, this hasn't been "much" of an issue because all the parties in play are doing it for free (Which gives it some leeway as a "grey area").
