Sort of.
They just reused the special effects/battle sequences, and them refilmed the rest with American actors.

I think transformers was just Hasbro tying a bunch of Japanese toylines they licensed out, and making a cartoon to market them. I'm pretty sure that Battletech was almost the same strategy, buy up Japanese mecha models and put them in the same product line. Get an air fryer than. You can also just pan fry them instead of deep frying. It usually turns out better in my opinion to pan fry them. Just coat the bottom of the pan with a little bit of oil, or maybe a few millimeters above the bottom of the pan, and put the fries in. Pan frying works easier with potato wedges, but traditional fries will work too if you flip often.
If you are scared of oil fires, just keep baking soda or flour near you to put out the fire. Also keep a lid roughly the size of your pan to snuff out any small flames. Also, fry your food at medium heat if your still scared.
