History of the Western Anime Community
Anime popularity came in the form of "waves". While anime has had aired in the west since the 60s with Astroboy and Speed Racer, there hasn't been an actual dedicated base of anime fans until the first wave many years later.
>The first wave
The first wave of anime fans began thanks to Akira. Akira was what made many people become fans and caused the first wave of dedicated anime fans where Ghibli and previous other anime failed to achieve. Anime beloved by first wavers are "Manime" stuff like Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D and Fist of the North Star. Pretty much anything with gore, violence, manly men and hot girls with nice tits.
Because anime was still niche around the time, many "first wavers" took up bootlegging videotapes of many action packed anime and hentai done in fan subs.
So the anime community started with Akira and was built on piracy and fan subbing.
>The second wave
The second wave has started with an audience much younger than those of the previous wave that founded the anime fandom and community. The anime that pushed this was Pokemon followed by Yu-Gi-Oh, but it was Dragon Ball Z and Toonami that pushed that distance and completed the second wave. These are the kids that only knew dubs and bought the licensed VHS and Shonen Jump magazines from stores. They later joined the anime community that was established in the first wave.
>The third wave
Then third wave started with Naruto. This is the wave of early Youtube and the MySpace era. These kids are the kind you see making AMVs and obsess how "perfect" Japan is. This wave has introduced far more girls into the fandom than wave 1 and 2 ever could. (wave 1 didn't have girls at all)
It's characterized with weaboos trying to use Japanese words in everyday conversations, scene kids and emos, fujoshis and Kingdom Hearts fangirls that have never played the games on top of Narutards. Slice of Life and cute things was getting popular in this wave among users of anonymous imageboards. It was also a time where trap lovers and loli lovers which haven't existed in the first wave were becoming more common place in the community.
>The fourth wave/Nu-wave
This is the current wave. It's filled with bandwagon jumpers that abandoned Western entertainment for greener pastures and anime has become exceedingly popular in the mainstream. This wave is also filled with subversive SJWs trying to hijack the fandom and communities, especially communites that were long since established in the first wave. They have been pushing Japan to censor anime at the source.
The only good things from this kami forsaken wave are monster girls and the rising popularity of aras.

Third generation, 1994-2000 was the Toonami generation. This is the first generation that didn't have to work to find anime, or people to talk about anime with, because it was on TV.
Fourth generation, 2000-2008 is the Golden age of anime Piracy/Promotion with the advent of bittorrent and zero-day digisubs. Con culture warps because of the fujoushit ruining everything and professional a "professional"-what, now? cosplay THOTs start popping up.

First wave, my first anime ever was Akira on the sci-fi channel. There was a rental place nearby that had some anime on VHS, I remember renting one of the Dirty Pair movies.
I collected anime on VHS for a long time, ordered a lot through a mail order catalog called right stuf, and fansub stuff from fan magazines. Most official anime I bought was dubbed, because they priced dubbed anime at a lower price (probably because fans were willing to pay more for subbed or some shit) and I was a kid buying this shit by saving my allowance and doing odd jobs.
I don't really have a favorite era, I just have a lot of stuff that I like from each one. Most trends in anime never go away completely, they sort of just fade and get blended into the "meta" of everything. When I was younger I avoided stuff like romcoms and slice of life, but over time those kind of shows grew on me along with other stuff. I think it's bad to shoehorn yourself into a corner with genres and meme opinions. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug for a lot of people. Normalfags are the worst about this but even communities like old /a/ were retarded about things like "studio x is bad because reasons" or writing off the entirety of shonen stuff because they don't want whatever meme label comes with that, etc. They were also prone to tons of contrarian bullshit where they shit on anything that had the slightest hint of popularity "show x is reddit/ironic weeb/etc". Sure a lot of that was shitposting, but there are people that take that shit seriously.
Western anime communities are terrifyingly prone to cancer, the only time they're alright is when lewd shit is the focus of the discussion. My biggest concern about anime is the increasing exposure to the masses. The more people seeing anime means the more potential for hysterical assholes to get offended and demand content is restricted/banned/etc. We've already reached the point where every season has a show that is "controversial" because otherwise inoffensive content triggers retards with a thing for twitter politics. Franxx was offensive for implying heterosexual relationships are healthy for society. Goblin Slayer was offensive because killing monsters is now racist (and that is hilarious because it proves that deep down inside SJWs can easily equate shitskins to inhuman monsters). Shield Hero is offensive because women don't ever lie about rape, ever, just listen and believe.

They strip the devs budget frequently, they always make sure content is cut for DLC and they always for devs to rush out games so development cost never get too high.

I highly doubt that. Remember that Pedowood thought that Solo, nuGhostbusters, Fant4astic, and The Lone Ranger were "smart investments". So, imagine how much worse the people writing for these games are for them to be laughed out of board meetings. Meanwhile, for some reason, it seems like an overwhelming amount of "games based off of films" are in equal leagues, or even better than, the films. The voting occurred and gained a supermajority, in that even if he had vetoed it was most likely going to be law anyway and Congress could override his veto had he chose to do so. He had no options and he has only himself to blame for having no options.
Trump is a naive fool who still doesn't realize that everyone around him is an enemy actively working against his (and the American people's) interests, and it will cost him. No, it has already costed him many times. His constant belief in compromise continues to be his greatest mistake. He truly feels that the people who work under him are trustworthy, that the system is working as intended and are both not actively attempting to ruin him at every turn.
To this day he still believes he can compromise with Democrats and the traitorous Republicans and it will be his downfall.
