One of the things that stood out to me in this Halo comparison video was how Bungie said that looking at Halo 3 after E3, the title wasn't fun in any way whatsoever and they had to scrap month's of work and restart from scratch, and that they actually considered it to be an important storytelling mechanic of deciding if Guilty Spark should be wasted in a cutscene by the characters or in the gameplay through the player.
Perhaps one of the reason why stories in game' suck majority of the time is that they focus on the story and try to adjust the gameplay to make it "work". And, what they should be doing instead is focusing on the gameplay, and letting the story develop around that.

Problem is both suck. The combat is floaty as fuck and feels uncomfortable just watching someone play it. The environments at least could be changed to be more creative and different though. The story is all kinds of fucked. If this is a kids game series then why is the story so convoluted you need a chart just to make sense of it? To fix the story at least somewhat then the game needs a new story all together.
Either a story completely focused on the Disney crossover aspects with Sora being the only Final Fantasy/anime element besides whatever dark force you want. Or a story that's purely Final Fantasy crossover without the Disney elements and you can keep the Heartless/Nobodies/etc. pretty easily.

People are already sick and tired of banners "Another version of a Nohr/Hoshido royal family member" while games like Binding Blade have NEVER had a banner in two years.
>Disconnection between devs and community
IS was good at this for the first year but that changed once they saw money. They're a lot more secretive than before and the powercreep in every banner (which goes from every 2 weeks to a month) is obvious in one way or another.
>Lack of variety
The game gets too tedious at many parts due to all game modes playing the same with two exceptions: a pseudo rhythm game that people hate and a pseudo town building area for a PvP mode that IS killed.

Normally this isn't an issue but FEH has variable stats with the characters you get from the gacha out of 21 variables. Remember the example of the Tibarn with an Attack boon? He'll perform much better than one who has an Attack bane as the latter won't kill as hard as the former and will, in turn, get killed. Tibarn is also a character whose most important stat is his Attack.
>5* characters have no value
The game sees all characters as expendable for their skills and easy to get rid of unlike games like Granblue or Dragalia in which you can't get rid of characters at all or FGO in which having and merging characters isn't a priority unless you want to nuke people with the highest damage output their Noble Phantasm can do.
>The story is shit
The main story in Heroes is laughable at best. The story in the events are also shit. They're also too brief so you learn nothing at all and if you do then you guess half the plot afterhand as it's too predictable. Heroes have three story arcs in 2 years because they're too shit and insignificant. Meanwhile FGO has two main story arcs, one sub arc and several event stories that all serve as tie-ins to either other events or the main story in three years. All of them properly developed and performed. Some even become What if scenarios such as the Fate/Zero event that takes place during F/Z and it shows how the adult Waver's actions made this alternate Fourth Grail War end differently (Kariya doesn't die and Iskandar saves him and Sakura from the Matou family, Tokiomi isn't killed by Kirei because adult Waver and company kill Gil during the drinking party. This forces Tokiomi to take Hassan from Kirei and Kirei doesn't have the one who led him to betray the Tohsakas, Kayneth isn't killed by Kiritsugu because adult Waver lies to Kayneth about the Grail War being a ploy by the Clock Tower to get rid of him so he goes back to England, leaving Diarmuid to help Waver, and Irisviel manages to attain the Dress of Heaven after she joins you because adult Waver, young Waver, Arturia, Diarmuid and Kiritsugu as a Counter Guardian destroy the corrupted Grail which the Einzberns see as betrayal and would've tried to have Irisviel killed if they found out).
Heroes did do great in 2018 but not as well as 2017 and some even saw the heaviest drops in revenue when the big banners were related to Fire Emblem Fates. Especially the banner themed around the realm of Valla (It had a new version of Female and Male Corrin, the introduction of Mikoto in an alternate version and a new Camilla because fuck you.) Both the Western and Japanese players hated this banner and the game's players are more and more upset at the game taking the direction that leads to it dying.
It doesn't help that the Langrisser mobile game was released the other day in English and it feels more like a legit SRPG than Heroes does.
God, this was longer than I thought. I just wanted to break down how I've seen the game lose steam pretty hard.

The west is obsessed with manufactured outrage and identity politics, and whether or not those people play games sort of doesn't matter since companies just look at online trends and think that is what people are all about. Unless one of these companies can be forward and consistent about how they handle sexual content in games, there is too much risk to consider calling any one platform a "home" for them.
I suspect other otaku media will pick up the slack, so anime and manga will get super lewd in coming years. Once the Olympics are over I'm anticipating a renaissance of ultra-lewd LNs, manga and anime. Stuff like To Love Ru and Hybrid Heart Academy becoming the norm again.

What about gacha players who play it for free. Honestly I find most gacha games (at least the ones I played, Epic7 and Granblue) give you enough resources for free to be just slightly under people who pay. And usually they're just getting access to content faster, not exclusive content. Free summons, free energy, free bonuses every week, new events/rewards almost every week too.
The only problems I have with it are the grind to get characters up to 6 star/level 60 is a lot. If you want to see what Nuclear power could have been you could look at France who took a very accepting attitude toward nuclear power in the 70's. Basically 80% of French homes run on nuclear power. Nuclear reactors are built so strongly you could try to 9/11 one and barely leave a scratch. With "newer" developments in reactors (newer being developed in the 70s and 80s) you can reuse a lot of the waste of older style reactors and have them be even safer than they were previously.
I remember there were plans to build a nuclear reactor near me a few years ago and it would have been the first reactor built in canada in decades and I was so excited but retards killed it, instead we got an expansion on our shitty coal plants.
