How is this possible? HL2 was babby-tier in difficulty. Like the first one, it was almost "choose-your-own adventure" in terms of what weapon you felt like using to kill enemies. Even on Hard where basically all bullet weapons did nothing it was still possible to spam and physics entire groups of enemies to death.

I blame MMOs for this kind of mentality. The average MMO shitter just wants to fast forward through any bit of dialogue or story progression as quickly as possible so they can get back to their infinite grind that much faster. Zelda games don't have that many NPCs in them, so not only is it "feasible" to talk to everyone, most secondary NPCs have maybe four lines of dialogue, so it's not even all that time consuming. Additionally, it's practically optional because it's not hard to determine what ought to be done to complete your current objective. Navi won't let you forget your primary goal in the moment, either, so you have no excuse for getting lost in a game as small as OoT. Finally, I just want to point out that Zelda games are story driven experiences, so if you're not playing it to experience the moment by moment story progression, then you're doing something wrong. Nobody plays these games because the gameplay alone is so stellar that it can diminish the significance of any potential shortcomings. At its best, Zelda is about fighting enemies, solving puzzles, and collecting items that help facilitate this process, and OoT's story informs the gameplay by explaining to the player, in pretty clear terms, what their next objective will be and why.

I have. The only JRPGs I finished were Wild Arms and Trails in the Sky, and honestly I have no idea how since both are probably some of the longer JRPGs around.

But Guacameme's take on it is that you have three options, a heal that's never used, a dash punch which goes through all enemies but deals less damage(yeah it's called a dashpunch instead of dashing derpderp now, the latter name I had forgotten before a shitty joke reminded me of it) and a headbutt which deals most damage to the leftmost enemy on the screen. But every animation is drawn out, and victory screens are even more drawn out and it's not fucking funny.

They had a good joke with the dimensions in the beginning of the game where one of the dimensions has a guy horde all the powerup statues, and you break like 20 of them getting shit like "Fresh Breath", "Fast Blinking", "Good Posture" and such until you get to the dash punch upgrade, but then the rest of the game's jokes, outside of a single one involving a giant skeleton making bone jokes, are actively trying to not be funny.
