Well what IBs do we have?
<Old guard PHP stuff
>Futaba Script
>Futallaby and descendants
>Tinyboard/NPF Chan/Infinity/OpenIB family
You probably don't want to use one of those, they tend to have horrible code, but on the other hand they are the comfiest IBs from the user perspective, they have the good old UI anons have known and loved for years.
<More modern projects
>Lynxchan
>JSChan
>Meguca
Lynxchan is widely used, so you'll probably have the best support for it. It is technologically superior but I don't really like it. It also lacks some features older IBs have. It uses node/MongoDB so it should be distributable and scalable, but according to many it's not as efficient as it could be.
JsChan is a relatively new project I don't know much about, I think fatchan was using it.
Meguca is, well, meguca. The release version is the easiest thing ever to set up, just clone the repo docker-compose. It really comes down to whether you like liveboards or not.
Which ones did I forget?
