what the fuck is the true backstory behind this photo? all i can find is a couple of gore blogs from 2011, saying that this is in fact a photo of a man in Papua New Guinea eating his infant (adopted) son for a sorcery ritual. but none of the links on that story have the actual picture (probably for obvious reasons).
but as some others have said, the photo doesn't quite add up. Why is the baby's skull missing? why isn't there more blood? could this be a completely different incident, like a car crash or something?
it's confirmed that cannibalization and witchcraft are practiced in Papua New Guinea, but i'm not sure if this is an authentic photo from that - it's been bothering me for weeks. i'm not disturbed by it or anything, i just want to know the story. i also dug through an entire thread on documentingreality (a gore site), changing my IP every few pages to bypass the paywall. no one came out with a definitive answer, so that was a major waste of time. what do you think, 8kun?

Notice the baby is white? If you ask me it is an albino. In some places of the world they albinos are rejected by black tribes and seen as a bad omen/demon or whatever.
You should check out Ross Kemps Extreme world papua new guinea episode where some locals try to scare him with guns and fail. They are some hardcore people these natives

that baby is a lighter complexion but it's not albino-white. the story goes that the man had a history of drug use and wasn't too right in the head to start with. plus this was probably in a more civilized part of PNG, the supposed news articles made it sound like the rest of the community turned him in pretty quick

i'm just wondering how the skull seems to be missing. did he do that with his bare hands and teeth? i doubt it. plus, this is very interesting, i think this would be the only actual photo of a guy eating a baby, if it's even true. i mean i'm sure it happens, but it's not often you get photographic evidence

He may have smashed the head and the skull bones fell out but I think if it was young enough he could have consumed the skull.
I don't know the story but it is a classic picture. Saturn devouring his young

yes it is a classic which is why i just want to verify it's authenticity. i'm leaning towards thinking it's legit. i wonder where it was first posted - maybe it was leaked?

My mind automatically focuses on you, not the picture or the story behind it. I'm not being mean or "insulting" or confrontational.
All I'm saying is the first thing that comes to mind:
"Why does this matter to you?"
Why are you interested in Gore at all? It just seems like a weird energy thing.

...... Because when I glanced at that picture.....
I didn't find it interesting or fascinating...
I wasn't struck by a desire to "know the details"
It didn't affect me....
I'm just curious why you perceived it differently

Well then I think you might lack empathy. I see this and I remember that these are real people somewhere - people with families, dreams, and lives of their own. I want to know at least some context as to what led them to this point
you're telling me that somewhere in the world, people might be routinely eating babies for initiation into sorcery cults and you're NOT interested? fuck that.
Yeah, I'm the one that 'took a wrong turn somewhere', buddy. You, on the other hand, see a photo of a man eating an infant and go "meh"

....for me, gore seems so backwards
If you want to know what REAL gore is, you should try looking down at your brother in a casket, after he got murdered in a robbery for only $8
Eight bucks.....
Even after the embalming process and makeup job, even with all the blood cleaned up...THATwas real gore....
Ever since then, I view every human being as a disgusting vicious stupid animal, much like the piece of shit in the photograph....
I hate all of you
I even hate myself
We're all disgusting pieces of shit
After experiencing the ignorant brutality of the human race firsthand, something about looking at gore photographs seems really backwards to me...
That just seems like a backwards negative energy
It seems like the same thing as slicking your hair back with dog feces... Because it's a behavior that guarantees loneliness and emptiness

Quite honestly I didn't even look at the picture... I quickly glanced at the thumbnail, but I don't even have my glasses on right now so I couldn't even see the details...
I would have never known there was a baby unless you mentioned it
And yes... I definitely have a lack of empathy... I'm the first one to admit it... I always get that out there right up front oh, so everybody knows where I'm coming from

And my brother being murdered was NOT the first or last time I learned first-hand the unimaginable depths of savagery of the human race.
I've dealt with Gore my entire like basically
(When I was 11, due to a mistake by a police officer it was supposed to be blocking off the area, I walked up and saw the remains of a man who had jumped 17 stories to his death on the sidewalk)
It didn't turn me into a cold person ...
It didn't make me fascinated with death and Gore
Notice I'm the one saying Gore is bad negative energy... It could only serve as an obstacle in your happiness

Real gore is having to look at your best friend in a casket, and explaining to his parents that it was because of an overdose at 21 years old, and then living with the guilt of having survived that for the rest of your life. You didn't do anything to contribute to your brothers death. At least your hands are clean.

after seeing the guy splattered on the sidewalk when I was 11 (he actually RIPPED APART more than "splattered") I could've easily become affected...
I mean, I saw his eye and brain... A section of gum, with teeth... hair attached to skin. a lung...
If anything could twist an 11 year old mind, that would have been it... And while I found it eerily clinical and scientific in nature, looking at organs and the splatter pattern on the concrete, it didn't make me snap or become a cold person who lacks empathy......
I already lacked empathy in many ways
but NO, I don't understand why people would EANT to indulge in that level ofvisual memories you can never erase

it really doesn't sound like that big of a deal to me. what bothers you so much about it? viewing gore on the internet has never made me feel like that, except for maybe when i was 12.
also again, just to reiterate, im not interested in the photo just because it's gore. i don't look for gore photos. this one specifically just piqued my interest, for obvious reasons

I figured that maybe there'd be some gore connoisseurs here that could direct me to some better sources. Speaking of gore sites like bestgore, where do they get these pics and vids originally? I'm sure the terrorist-related ones are sent in willingly, but stuff like this has got to have been leaked.
