from a purely evolutionary perspective the r type would be successful if it could consume all the resources and out breed the k types and other r types. even if we fall back into pre stone age, technically, r type would be successful.
But I think k types could thrive if k types werent wasting time on french horn and guilt.
r-types should not be subsidized by k types but specialization may be the reason.
