Of course, Tor is NOT safe for illegal downloads/uploads. It is OBVIOUS that law enforcement agencies can easily compromise the entire Tor network in order to de-anonymize CP downloaders/uploaders.
In fact, the police could easily compromise the Tor network 10 to 15 years ago, just using traffic analysis, without relying on browser exploits. In 2026, Tor offers little (to no) protection against a nation-state level adversary, like the FBI and Interpol.
And even if they dedicate relatively little energy for tracking down porn downloads/uploads, they still have more than enough resources to track down every download/upload to an exact precision, even if a small amount of resources is dedicated to this type of monitoring. The Tor Project even mentioned (way back in 2010) that it does not protect you from a well-funded government agency.
This statement was true back in 2010. It is even more so true in 2026, with advancements in survelliance/AI technology. The moral of the story is you should use common sense to determine what kind of content is legal/safe to download/upload. It is obvious what kind of content is illegal/unsafe to download/upload. Don't be stupid. Or you will end up in jail for many years.
