Maybe it's related to covid, maybe it's not. Usually I sleep like a log and never remember my dreams, but for the last three nights I've been having some weird and vivid dreams. It started on wednesday night/thursday morning. I had a horrible HD nightmare that I wont go into because it would take too long, woke up from it at 3 AM. My ears were buzzing hard. Al the dogs from the neigbourhood were barking, heavily. I went outside to see whats up, and my dog was missing. He never leaves the yard (around 4000 square meters), it's fenced all around and there's plenty of room for him. I tried to call him and nothing happened. Then I took my flashlight and opened the gates. My place is surrounded by forest on three sides, and it's the last house in the village. When I got to the road I checked every side with the flashlight and noticed two eyes flashing back from the distance. It was on the road through the forest, away from the village. I just saw the eyes at first, I couldn't tell if it was my dog or some other animal. I tried calling him. And the eyes started moving towards me. He came close enough that I could see that it really was him. But, he stopped 50 meters away just looking at my direction, like hypnotized, and wouldn't move closer. I thought it was because of the flashlight so I turned it off. He still wouldn't move and just stood there like a statue. I tried calling him a few more times, but without success. Then i went back to the house and took some chewing strips with the idea to lure him in. I went back and he was still standing there, same place, same position. I called him again by "come, eat!" which should have done the trick. He still wouldn't move. Then I tore a bit off and threw it in his direction. Reluctantly, he started approaching the piece. Then I threw some more bits, closer and closer. He came at the 10 meters distance now, but wouldn't approach me, again standing like a statue. Then I made a trail of pieces leading to the yard and left the gates open. I went up to the house to give him space. After a while hi did follow the food trail and got back into the yard. I closed the gate and he just went away and curled up in the grass, ignoring me. I never seen him behave that strange. Then I went back to sleep, glad he was safe and didn't give much more thought to it.
The next night shit happened again. I had a vivid nightmare, woke up with ears buzzing, all the dogs were barking, and my dog escaped. Again I took the flashlight and went looking for him. Now he was at the same distance, but in the village direction, standing like a statue at the edge of my neighbour's vineyard. Again he wouldn't move. This time I walked towards him. When I got to him I said "let's go home" and he just turned over on his back, like a log. He still wouldn't move. I shoved him a bit with my foot to get him going, but he just sprang up like I poked him with the needle, started squeeling and ran to the forest. I couldn't find him any more, so I went back to the house and waited until sunrise. When the sun rose I went outside and there he was, just a couple of feet into the bushes. I opened the gates and he came in right away, normally, wagging his tail, like nothing ever happened.
I went to see my parents that day (they live 20 km away from me) and while we were sitting my dad started talking about the strangest dream he had last night. WTF? It's getting weird now. I asked my mom is she having strange dreams lately and she said she doesn't. But still, my dad did, and never in my life I have heard him talking about dreams he had. He just doesn't do that. That's a very strange coincidence, but what can you do?
Last night I didn't have the dream, but I woke up at 3 AM again, and my ears were buzzing. The dog was at the yard, but awake.
I forgot to mention that I live in south Europe.
So, has anybody here had any similar experiences lately?
(video is unrelated, but I need to put something to post)
