but remember that time is relative. if the microwave transceiver were a person on the moon they would observe the time difference by returning to earth 3.8 days older than their trip took. what would the time difference be if there were nobody there to observe it? the moon isnt 3.8 days into the future. it remains in the present as observed from earth. but for the person on the moon, time would've moved slightly faster, not necessarily sending them to the future, but simply observing time differently than us relative to their environment/velocity etc.
