Math 'Error' Brings Down Guyana Government

Last week, the Caribbean Court of Justice upheld the order of operations from mathematics and, in doing so, caused the government of Guyana to fall. TTT News describes the aftermath of the appellate court's decision.

The case on which the CCJ ruled goes back to 21 December 2018, when in an extraordinary effort to survive a no-confidence motion and remain in power, Guyanese President David Granger attempted to legally redefine how a valid majority of votes in the 65-seat Guyanese Parliament should be calculated, raising the threshold from 33 votes to 34, which would allow his party to dismiss the results of the body's 33-32 no-confidence vote that went against them.

The case had gone to the CCJ after a judicial panel in Guyana ruled in favor of the government's bad math.

The President of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ), the Honorable Mr. Justice Adrian Saunders, delivered the opinion of the court regarding the no-confidence vote held in the Guyanese Parliament on December 21, 2018, which the court held to be valid under the Constitution of Guyana. The Court’s decision upholds the decision of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Barton Scotland that the motion was carried by a majority of 33 votes. The contention between the parties was whether 33 or 34 votes constituted a majority. The Attorney General, Mr. Basil Williams, contended that the formula for achieving a majority, as like in other Parliamentary systems with an odd number of representatives, that the majority constitutes one half of the members plus one, which would hold that 34 votes are required to form a majority….

The resulting no-confidence vote by a majority of the 65 member National Assembly against the coalition government requires the government, including the President and his cabinet, to resign immediately and to hold new elections within three months.

The ruling party's position depended upon erroneously applying the order of operations from mathematics. In a 29 March 2019 letter to the Guyana Times, economics and statistics professor Dev Rawana explained why the lower judicial panel's ruling was wrong:

The controversial Appeal Court’s ruling against the No Confidence Motion (NCM) resolves around the meaning of the word “majority” as intended by Article (106). No one in the Appellate disagrees that the greater number in the National Assembly constitutes a majority. The median or the 50th percentile of a set of numbers, by statistical and mathematical reasoning, is half the sum of all numbers plus one, or equivalently ½(n+1).

In the case of the fifty (52) Members of Parliament of the Republic of Vanuatu, one half of 53 (26.5) and then rounded up yield 27 as the majority. In the case of Guyana with 65 sitting Members of Parliament, one half 66 (65+1) is 33, the number that constitutes the majority as in the case of the Republic of Vanuatu.

However, in the Guyana case, the median was not applied. Instead, Chancellor Cummings-Edwards and Justice Gregory disaggregated the median formula into two overlapping stages to define the majority by taking one-half, rounded-up and then plus one to yield a majority of 34. This two-stage hybrid is mathematically and statistically flawed by international standards.

Why? In the first stage, the number is rounded-up, and again the rounded value is added to one to overstate the majority by one. Therefore, based on the median principles in determining the 50th percentile, 33 is the majority of 32 in the 65-Member Parliament; and, reflects the true effect of the constitution.

The correct application of the order of operations in calculating what constitutes a majority in the Guyanese Parliament that Professor Rawana describes is what the Caribbean Court of Justice upheld in its ruling confirming the success of the no-confidence motion. Guyana's next government will now be determined by the outcome of elections to be held in the next three months.

Current use of the presidential finding stems from the so-called Hughes–Ryan Amendment to the Foreign Assistance Act of 1974, which prohibited the expenditure of appropriated funds by or on behalf of the CIA for intelligence activities "unless and until the President finds that each such operation is important to the national security of the United States and reports, in a timely fashion, a description and scope of such operation to the appropriate committees of Congress" (section 662). This was intended to ensure that clear responsibility for such action was attributable to the President and that Congress was always made aware of such activities. Due to the sensitivity of their content, presidential findings are almost always classified.

The most recent change to exercise of findings occurred in the Intelligence Authorization Act of 1991, which introduced increased flexibility in the reporting requirement: findings are to be "reported to the intelligence committees as soon as possible" after being approved "and before the initiation of the covert action authorized by the finding." As such, presidential findings are one of the primary means through which the intelligence committees exercise their oversight of the government's intelligence operations. However, the Intelligence Authorization Act allows the President to proceed without notifying Congress if he notifies them afterwards "in a timely fashion

God was always the ground for any crooked dealing. The notion of the Old Testament’s chosen people fits in here as well. This clearly proves the similarity in English and Jewish thinking. The original claims of chosenness, of God-willed wealth and God-ordained poverty, of dark secrets and mystic superstitions was begun by Oliver Cromwell and became the foundation of the English Empire. On can read the following about the English saint in Volume II of Wilbur Contez Abbot’s Writing and Speeches of Oliver Cromwell: “They could hardly say anything to Cromwell without him putting his hand to his heart, raising his eyes to the heavens and calling God as his witness. Flashback: Trump may have to invoke ‘Insurrection Act’ to protect the country after another Obama judge blocks his border wall construction

(NationalSentinel) On Friday, a federal judge appointed by Barack Obama issued a permanent injunction against the administration, blocking President Trump from using Defense Department funds for border wall construction.

In May during a speech, Attorney General William Barr said such nationwide injunctions are not only improper but also “undermine the democratic process, depart from history and tradition, violate constitutional principles, and impede sound judicial administration.”

A New York University Law Review paper in October 2017 listed many practical problems with such injunctions, and its key point was that they violate constitutional principles, undermining “the structural design of the federal courts by allowing a single lower court to make nationwide law.”

It may be time for the president — and we don’t say this lightly — to supersede these rogue federal judges and simply exercise the authority the Constitution grants him, and let the chips fall where they may.

Under the Insurrection Act of 1807, the president has the authority to use the National Guard and military in order to combat “unlawful obstruction or rebellion” within U.S. borders. The act was last invoked in 1992 by George H.W. Bush to quell the Los Angeles riots, and was also used by Eisenhower in 1957 to enforce school desegregation in the south.

Germany & Netherlands agree to create joint ‘military’ internet as NATO eyes unified network

Berlin and Amsterdam have agreed to set up ‘military’ internet, paving the way for a unified network shared by NATO states. The ambitious program is expected to come with a hefty price tag attached, RT.com reports.

The two European states signed an accord earlier this week in Brussels making the new Dutch-German project, called Tactical Edge Networking (TEN), official.

Headquartered in Koblenz, Germany, TEN will merge communications between the German and Dutch militaries. That would incorporate some 25,000 vehicles, while Dutch and German troops will also be outfitted with identical, linked computers, radios, tablets and telephones.

German media reported that by 2030 the militaries of both countries hope to be able to communicate electronically using the fully integrated network.

The initiative, which will reportedly cost millions of euros to implement, is believed to be the first time that two nations merged parts of their military networks. The project has been billed as the first step towards developing a unified military network for NATO members.

Putting the Facts Together – Potential Outcomes of 5G Technology

Now, this is where it gets very interesting. What would happen if the density of 5G cell tower transmissions could be jacked up to a much higher density level? Could 5G technology become a directed energy weapon? Instead of sending a beam of low density microwave radiation toward you and your cell phone or toward you and the GPS system that is built into many automobiles, could the system be adjusted to send a much more powerful beam of high density microwaves toward you or a crowd of people such as is done with the U.S. military’s Active Denial System?

As far as I can tell, it is unlikely that 5G antennas could produce the microwave density of the military’s ADS weapon without burning themselves up, because of their small size and physical design. However, all electromagnetic radiation produces an effect on the human body.

What impact will the slightly longer microwaves from 5G have on us when they penetrate more deeply into the body than the 95 GHz of the military’s Active Denial System?

We have very little data at this point to inform us of what exposure in the 28 GHz, 38 GHz or the 95 GHz range will do to human life in the long-term. All we know at this point is that microwave radiation from devices in the 900 MHz to 3 GHz frequency range can cause many symptoms of distress and illness as described in my previous articles.

Project Veritas Informs Congressional Leaders about Google's Manipulating of Elections

After an earth-shattering week of revelations from Project Veritas showing Google’s plans to manipulate the U.S. presidential election against Donald Trump in 2020, the whistle-blowing organization is making sure that Congress is aware of their findings.

The organization’s legal counsel, Benjamin Barr of Statecraft Law, sent letters to a bipartisan group of lawmakers in Washington D.C. including Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Mike Lee (R-UT), Josh Hawley (R-MO), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Mark Warner (D-VA), and Ed Markey (D-MA) as well as Reps. Louis Gohmert (R-TX), David Cicilline (D-RI), Steve King (R-IA), and Jim Jordan (R-OH) informing them that Big Tech is an existential threat to our democratic process.

Veritas provided a link to the letter they sent to Sen. Cruz where they outlined exactly how Google was violating election law with their abhorrent practices.

“Under the Federal Election Campaign Act (“FECA”), federal election law prohibits corporations from making contributions,” Barr explained in the letter. “This prohibition includes in-kind contributions by corporations where something of value is offered that supports or opposes a candidate for office. As an incorporated entity, Google is forbidden under the FECA to use resources to ‘never let[] somebody like Donald Trump [to] come to power again.'”

“The captured video of Ms. Gennai illustrates that Google is currently “training [its] algorithms” and is thus taking concrete steps likely in violation of federal election law,” Barr added.

Google attempted to suppress the video from circulation by removing it from their popular YouTube platform, but it has still been widely disseminated despite the thought control attempt from the censors.

In subsequent reports, Veritas has exposed Google for instructing its employees on the best methods of resisting President Trump and his policies, blacklisting pro-life search terms on YouTube prior to an abortion referendum in Ireland, and calling conservative commentators Ben Shapiro, Dennis Prager and Jordan Petersen ‘nazis using dog whistles.’

More whistle-blowers are coming forward, and the public relations nightmare may not be over yet for Google as Veritas continues to shine light on the tech giant who felt they were above the law.

“Since we broke this Google story this morning there are already a few more insiders who have come to us wanting to go public,” Veritas founder James O’Keefe wrote on Twitter.

Veritas did not just highlight Google in their letter, but several other hostile Big Tech monopolists who work in tandem to repress right-wing thought for the purposes of manipulating democracy.

“After investigating Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Google, it becomes clear that social media giants and big tech believe their platforms will not be hubs of free speech, but curated echo chambers,” Barr wrote to Congressional lawmakers.

Libya government claims France soldiers among Haftar forces

The Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) claims to have spotted French soldiers serving among the forces of General Khalifa Haftar.

Arab League rejects any change in historical, legal status of Jerusalem

The Arab League renewed its rejection of any change in the historical and legal status of Jerusalem, including the relocation or opening of any embassy or representation office in the Holy City.

This came in a speech delivered by the Permanent Arab League Observer at the UN, Ali Al-Sammak, to the sixth meeting of the conference held by the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, which was held in Geneva on Thursday.

Al-Sammak stressed that any change in the historical or legal status of the Holy City is a violation of international law and the resolutions of the international community.

He also stressed that the Arab League reiterated this position during the last meeting held in Tunisia, which condemned any decisions in this regard including the US decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and relocate its embassy to the city from Tel Aviv.

Meanwhile, Al-Sammak said that Jerusalem is being exposed to “increasing and systematic flagrant violations against the historical, geographical and demographic statuses”.

Al-Sammak highlighted the importance of the permanent existence of UNESCO in the city, to observe Israeli violations of the status quo and the “destructive Judaisation policy which aims to change the historical, cultural and religious appearance [of the city]”.

US Special Envoy Tells Europe: Choose Between Us and Iran

Threatens sanctions on any country that buys any Iranian oil

Having spent weeks hyping up the idea of a threat posed by Iran against the world, US special envoy Brian Hook is now shifting his talking points to threatening those nations directly.

Hook warned the European Union in particular against its attempt to establish a clearing house to allow trade with Iran, saying that the entire continent of Europe has to make a choice: do business with the United States, or do business with Iran.

This is a problem for the P5+1 members in the European Union, as the nuclear deal with Iran obliges them to offer sanctions relief. Since the US reneged on the deal, they’ve not only refused to trade with Iran, but are trying to prevent the rest of the world from doing so as well.

That’s why the EU had to create the clearing house: because US threats have scared off all the banks in Europe. The program will allow companies to trade with Iran without money crossing borders, and thus eliminating the need for banks.

Hook, however, insists that no country has any waivers from America allowing them to buy Iranian oil, or carry out other business with them. Even though in practice it is none of America’s business, Hook said the US intends to sanction any country caught buying oil from Iran in any way.

The US threats are largely empty. China has continued to buy oil from Iran despite US warnings, and the US clearly can’t do anything about it. The EU has a similarly large economy and should be able to also call the administration’s bluff, but so far, banks haven’t shown any faith in the EU backing up their promises to protect their companies.
