Judicial Watch Forced to Delay Clinton Email Deposition After DOJ and State Dept Defy Court-Ordered Deadline
Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch was scheduled to take the deposition of John Hackett, a State Department records official “immediately responsible for responding to requests for records under the Freedom of Information Act” on Friday, April 5th.
The government watchdog group was forced to delay its Clinton email deposition because the Deep State DOJ and Department of State failed to comply with a deadline.
“Turns out we had to delay today’s Clinton email deposition because the State and Justice Departments failed to comply with the court-ordered deadline for needed documents,” JW president Tom Fitton said in a tweet Friday evening.
Thanks to Judicial Watch, a court wants to know if Hillary Clinton’s private email system was designed to thwart FOIA.
Judicial Watch announced last month a schedule of depositions of senior Obama-era officials, lawyers and former Hillary Clinton aides.
Thanks to the heavy lifting by Judicial Watch, Judge Royce C. Lamberth, who called Hillary Clinton’s use of the private email server “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency,” ordered these corrupt Obama and Hillary officials to provide answers, under oath, to the watchdog group about the Benghazi and Hillary Clinton email scandals.
Recall, Judge Lamberth previously slammed Hillary’s corruption and said the State Department provided ‘clearly false’ statements to derail requests for Hillary Clinton documents.
Judge Lamberth, a Reagan appointee, said he was “dumbfounded” when he found out that Hillary’s aide-turned-lawyer Cheryl Mills was given immunity.
If not for Judicial Watch, Americans wouldn’t even know about Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server which she set up to avoid FOIA oversight of her Clinton Foundation pay-to-play while she was the head of the Department of State.
Judicial Watch blew the story wide open and their FOIA lawsuits also revealed Hillary Clinton was sending classified information over her private server.
A name of a clandestine CIA agent was even found in a tranche of emails uncovered by Judicial Watch — classified Hillary emails were found on pervert Anthony Weiner’s laptop after his wife, Huma Abedin, who happened to be Clinton’s aide, appeared to sync Hillary’s emails to her computers at home.
This is the second time in recent days the DOJ and State Department tried to derail Judicial Watch’s scheduled deposition of Obama-era-Clinton aides.
A couple weeks ago, Obama’s speech writer-turned-Iran-echo-chamber Ben Rhodes defied a court order to provide written answers, under oath to Judicial Watch and the State Department and Justice Department objected to Judicial Watch who sought an in-person interview with Mr. Rhodes.

US to Declare Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps a Terrorist Group - Report
The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to designate Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a foreign terrorist organization (FTO), the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing sources in the administration.
The move could be announced as early as Monday, April 8, according to WSJ. If carried out, it will mark the first time another country's military has been branded as a terrorist group. Reuters reports that three sources close to the matter confirmed the WSJ account to them, and that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has been pushing for the new designation.

Mnuchin said at the time.
"We are designating the IRGC for providing support to the IRGC-QF, the key Iranian entity enabling Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's relentless campaign of brutal violence against his own people, as well as the lethal activities of Hizballah, Hamas, and other terrorist groups. We urge the private sector to recognize that the IRGC permeates much of the Iranian economy, and those who transact with IRGC-controlled companies do so at great risk."
Per the US Department of State, designating a group a foreign terrorist organization is "an effective means of curtailing support for terrorist activities and pressuring groups to get out of the terrorism business." The most recent group to be added to the list is the militant jihadist organization Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin. It was added on September 6, 2018.

The incident occurred when the employee, who had resigned, returned to work to say goodbye to his colleagues.
After word had spread that the employee had resigned, Musk accosted the worker, swearing at him and telling him to leave immediately, according to the report. Musk also reportedly made physical contact with the employee in a "heated confrontation that drew the attention of other employees" before spilling out into the hallway and later the parking lot.
The departing worker, described by his peers as "one of the best problem solvers and a great business mind" (which may explain why Musk felt… challenged) reportedly went to get his backpack prior to leaving, but Musk physically blocked him, telling him to just "get the fuck out". Musk then confronted him outside, telling the employee "I will nuke you!" if he harmed Tesla. Some speculated that the warning was meant to keep the employee quiet about what had taken place that day.

We’re a big step closer to that today, but ISIS still lives on in various cells and in the minds of many of the people in the areas that we’ve liberated. [Not just cells and minds actually: thousands of ISIS fighters hold territory in desert areas contested with the Syrian army in nominally government- controlled territory, but acknowledging that would mean acknowledging that Assad is fighting ISIS].
“Secondly, to ensure a political process that will give us a different kind of government [there you go, regime change] that will encourage people to come back [because then we shall stop using depopulation as a weapon] and be a decent player in the international arena [wonderful euphemism for being more pliant towards Israel], unlike what we’ve seen from Syria in the last eight years. Jackson Cosko was arrested in October 2018 over his hacking that amounted to "an extensive computer fraud and data theft scheme," according to prosecutors.
Here are the charges that he pled guilty to:

Oil giant Chevron Corp. has asked that a lawsuit related to coastal erosion filed against it and a handful of other energy companies by the City of New Orleans last week be moved to federal court. The suit, filed a week ago in Orleans Civil District Court, alleges Chevron and 10 other companies are liable for making the city vulnerable to storm surges because of the drilling and dredging though marshes and wetlands those companies undertook decades ago.
Chevron said Thursday after filing its motion that the energy industry’s activities have always been carried out under federal supervision and in accordance with federal laws and regulations. “Disputes challenging decades of federally authorized operations, carried out according to federal laws and regulations, should be heard in federal court,” the company said. “We believe the allegations set forth in this petition involve important issues of national concern that should be heard and decided uniformly in federal court.” The filing was not unexpected. A motion to vacate a proceeding to federal court is often an early request in lawsuits filed in state district court, as each side has its own sense of where it stands a better chance of winning.
Plaintiff's attorney Gladstone Jones, who is representing New Orleans in the suit, could not be reached for comment. The suit filed by New Orleans last week is similar to those filed by Jefferson, Plaquemines and St. John the Baptist parishes over the past several years arguing that actions by oil and gas companies contributed to the state's loss of coastal land to the Gulf of Mexico. New Orleans had stayed its hand under Mitch Landrieu’s administration, but Mayor Latoya Cantrell moved forward with a lawsuit last week. She argued that the suit was a matter of holding the appropriate parties accountable.

Jury Orders Chevron To Pay $21 Million For Cancer Claims
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A jury ordered Chevron Corp. to pay the families of two brothers a combined $21.4 million after they claimed the men’s exposure to a toxic chemical while working at a company plant caused the cancer that killed them. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that The Contra Costa County jury’s verdict Friday.
Brothers Gary Eaves and Randy Eaves worked at a Chevron-owned tire manufacturer in Arkansas. Both worked with the solvent benzene, a known carcinogen. Gary died of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2015 at age 61. Randy died of leukemia in 2018, also at age 61.
The families’ wrongful death lawsuit was filed in California because Chevron is based in the state. Chevron says it disputes that benzene caused the brothers’ cancer and is mulling its next legal step.

Musgraves, who was honored for her work with the Grammy Museum, didn’t exactly echo Wolf’s points, but described an instance in which following her instincts paid off. Trump adds pressure on Venezuela by blocking oil shipments to Cuba
The Trump administration on Friday increased economic pressure on Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro by sanctioning 34 vessels used by the country's oil company PDVSA to transport fuel to Cuba. A senior administration official told reporters that the action could be followed by additional economic measures against Venezuela, in a protracted effort to force Maduro to step down and allow the country's elected leader under the constitution, Juan Guaido, to take complete control.

The restrictions placed on the 34 vessels are meant to make it more difficult for Maduro to ship oil to other regional customers in order to generate revenue, and diminish his influence in the region. "The story here is there is no future for PDVSA as long as Maduro” remains in power, the administration official said. He noted that Venezuela's U.S.-based refinery company, Citgo, has been able to transition to alternate supplies of oil, and is doing better financially than when under Maduro's control. Citgo is now under the control of the president-elect Guaido.

FDA Wants to Lower Amount of Fluoride in Bottled Water, but Scientists Say it is Still Too High
Rather than combating the high levels of pesticides found in much of the food grown in the United States, the negative effects of factory farming, or the lack of clean water available to numerous communities across the country, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is proposing slightly lowering the standard for fluoride content in bottled water.
Thankfully, scientists and environmental organizations alike are pushing back on the proposed changes, saying the new standard will still be too high for safe consumption.
The FDA’s current standard straddles 0.8 and 1.7 milligrams per liter. The new regulation, if finalized, will lower the standard for both imported and domestically packaged bottled water to 0.7 milligrams per liter. The new regulation only addresses bottled water with fluoride added during the process, not bottled water that contains fluoride from the source.
For years, critics of the fluoridation of drinking water have maintained that it is not safe nor helpful in combating tooth decay. As long as critics of fluoride have existed, so has a campaign to mock those same people as conspiracy theorists or science deniers.
In 2015, the U.S. Public Health Service suggested that 0.7 milligrams per liter was the optimal concentration for fluoride in community water. According to the FDA, the proposed rule “is based on findings from evolving research on optimal concentrations of fluoride that balances fluoride’s benefits in preventing tooth decay with its risk of causing dental fluorosis, a condition most often characterized by white patches on teeth.” Dental fluorosis is caused when too much fluoride is consumed while teeth are still developing.
Some scientists are now speaking out, expressing concerns extending beyond tooth health and instances of dental fluorosis.
Christopher Neurath, research director of the American Environmental Health Studies Project, published a study this year highlighting a “dramatic increase in fluorosis” over the last decade. Over 30% of adolescents involved in the study showed “moderate and severe dental fluorosis” with 35% showing lesser, but still significant, signs of dental fluorosis.
Neurath maintains that the slight decrease in bottled water fluoridation that would result if the standard were approved would do little to reduce occurrences of dental fluorosis.
“Dental fluorosis is a visible sign of overexposure to fluoride, but there are other nonvisible signs and adverse health effects that are much more serious,” Neurath said. “Currently, there are rapidly increasing scientific studies showing neurotoxicity to fluoride.”
Dr. Philippe Grandjean, adjunct professor of environmental health at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, wrote:
Given that fluoride can damage brain development, I would recommend that the maximum fluoride concentration in bottled water be kept at a lower level than 0.7 mg/L.

California sued the Trump administration Friday to force it to provide data supporting its rollback of Obama-era vehicle emissions standards, which California called "radical." Gavin Newsom, a Democrat. “Yet, the Trump administration is willfully withholding information on their ill-advised rollback of federal vehicle emission standards because there is simply no science or logic to back up their actions.” California and 17 other states have already sued the Trump administration for rejecting the Obama administration’s fuel-efficiency rules and beginning the process of weakening them. Attorneys general of those states accuse the Trump administration of flouting the Administrative Procedures Act by not backing up their policy proposal with proper rationale.
The EPA, along with the NHTSA, last August proposed freezing Obama-era fuel efficiency rules for cars and light trucks, instead of raising them each model year from 2020-2026. The agencies also proposed revoking a Clean Air Act waiver that California has, and more than a dozen other states follow, allowing it to set vehicle emission standards tougher than federal rules. California and other states are expected to sue the administration again in the coming months, when the Trump administration finalizes its plan to relax the fuel rules and revoke the waiver.
EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler said Thursday he hoped California would not sue the agency once it finalizes the rollback of the car rules, but predicted “we will go to court.” “I believe we are on firm legal footing and our standards will be upheld by the courts,” Wheeler said at the Washington Auto Show. The Trump administration argues the tougher Obama rules, meant to combat carbon emissions from transportation, would make newer cars unaffordable, forcing drivers to use older, less safe, and environmentally unfriendly vehicles. A freeze in the fuel standards could prevent 1,000 fatalities from crashes annually and save Americans an average of roughly $2,340 for every new vehicle purchased, the Trump administration claims.
But career experts at the EPA disagreed with the NHTSA on the number of deaths that would be avoided by rolling back the fuel efficiency rules, according to internal documents released in August. Scientists from EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality privately warned that computer modeling used by the NHTSA was flawed and argued that the rollback would actually increase annual traffic fatalities, by an average of about 17 deaths per year. EPA’s internal analysis found that freezing the Obama rules would cost thousands of jobs, and reduce social benefits by $83 billion from forgone reductions in pollution and carbon emissions. The arrests at Birthright took place at the end of a 90-minute protest outside of Birthright’s Manhattan offices. At first, more than 100 activists blocked Third Avenue, a busy thoroughfare, during rush hour. They were cursed by commuters and honked at by vehicles backed up in traffic.
After about 20 minutes, the protesters moved to the sidewalk in front of Birthright’s office building, and 15 activists blocked the entrance, sitting in a row.
Protesters held signs reading “Confront the crisis” and “Stop lying to young Jews.” Their shirts read “Birthright, you choose: Us or the donors.” An IfNotNow spokesman said activists had also attempted to speak to Birthright staff in the building.
After about another hour of protesting and repeated warnings to disperse by about two dozen police officers who had massed by the sidewalk, the police arrested the activists blocking the door. They did not resist and were loaded into two police wagons.

AOC Triggered, Claps Back Over Criticism of Her Fake Southern Accent in Speech to Black Audience
Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez clapped back at critics Friday who pointed out her cringe-worthy fake southern accent while she was speaking to a predominantly black audience at National Action Network’s annual convention.
AOC took a page from Hillary Clinton and spoke in a contrived southern drawl.
Ocasio-Cortez asserted, “I’m proud to be a bartender. Ain’t nothing wrong that. There’s nothing wrong with working retail…There is nothing wrong with preparing that your neighbors will eat,” while adopting the unnatural accent.
Conservatives on social media trolled the heck outta AOC and criticized her bizarre accent.
Ocasio-Cortez lashed out at critics Friday evening in a pair of tweets, calling reports on her “conspiracy mills.”
“Folks talking about my voice can step right off. Women’s March & Kavanaugh speech, same. Any kid who grew up in a distinct linguistic culture & had to learn to navigate class enviros at school/work knows what’s up. My Spanish is the same way. These conspiracy mills are 🚮.” AOC said.
In a second tweet, AOC said it’s “hurtful” to see every aspect of her life “weaponized” against her.
“As much as the right wants to distort & deflect, I am from the Bronx. I act & talk like it, *especially* when I’m fired up and especially when I’m home. It is so hurtful to see how every aspect of my life is weaponized against me, yet somehow asserted as false at the same time,” she said.

On a chilly night almost two years ago, in a cramped, cluttered room in a dirt-cheap motel on Aurora Avenue, I found myself sitting face-to-face with six heroin addicts.
They were nice kids. They seemed tired. Wrung out. But they were honest, and funny at times, and I liked every one of them.
And, of course, they broke my heart.
I'll never forget Ace, who was 30 years old, with a closely shaved head and a slow, drawn out way of speaking. He rolled a cigarette and told me that he'd been a construction worker.
"Most of my family, they don't know what I do or what I'm up to or where I'm at. I'm just kinda gone," he said quietly.
Ace said he has two kids somewhere. "Since I started using,” he said, “I think about how, before, I used to vacation. I used to do stuff with people. And now it's just… all I do is try to get heroin."
I wonder where Ace is now. I wonder if he's alive. I wonder about his two kids too.
There was a guy named Josh who had the words "Hold" and "Fast" tattooed on his knuckles. He had been a fisherman and he wore a camouflage hat and talked animatedly about the trap he found himself in. "We're going to inject somewhere," he said. "Either it's going to be in your bathroom or a place the state pays for. Who do you want to clean it up? You want a nurse to deal with it? Or do you want the night-shift manager to deal with it? 'Cuz we're GONNA get high downtown! We're gonna use! Period." At one point he stopped talking for a moment and then he looked down and said, "It's sick."
Josh asked me to blur his face for the documentary we were working on. He said if his parents in Boston saw him like this it would kill them.
My niece Lexi was in that room. I call her my niece, but she's technically my cousin's granddaughter. She was at my wedding, dancing in a red velvet dress with white trim, with her beautiful ringlet curls bouncing around everywhere. She was the most adorable 4-year old little girl you’ve ever seen.
Now she's on the streets, living in camps, battling addiction. She's in and out of housing, on and off the opiate blocker Suboxone. Sometimes she says she wants to die.
It’s ripped the guts out of her family, and anyone who asks, “Why doesn’t the family DO something?” simply doesn’t understand that it doesn’t really work that way. Not the way things are set up in Seattle. .

In the aftermath of Seattle is Dying, some wondered out loud how it was that I hadn’t spoken to the people who are actually suffering on the streets.
Had they taken the time to look, they would have known that I’ve spent the last four years talking to them.
One time in the middle of the night I sat in an alley in downtown Seattle and watched as two young men shot heroin into their arm. One was a loud, brash 23-year old who didn’t want us to use his name. We called him Steve.
Steve called Seattle a “giant junkie town built around a huge needle.” It was hard to disagree then, it’s impossible to disagree now. He said, “Drugs and sh%$ man? I can’t be happy without drugs.”
The other guy was named Nick and he seemed thoughtful and sensitive. He was handsome, and he tried to dress up as best he could to be on camera.
Nick said, “I feel guilty every day.” When I met him he’d been using heroin for five years.
We sat in an alley right next to the Paramount Theater. The two of them cooked their heroin and shot up right there out in the open, with their backs against the red bricks.
As the drug rushed through his blood and up into his brain, Nick’s eyes glazed over and his tongue thickened and he said something I haven’t been able to shake. He said, “I feel like everything is going to be OK now. I feel like I pulled the blanket close on a freezing cold night. It feels like nothing could go wrong, to me or anybody.”
The documentary was called, “Demon At The Door.” We talked to addicts, and the families of addicts. We went with cops up in Everett into the bramble along the river and talked to people living in ungodly horrible camps the likes of which I'd never seen before. We remembered the life of a beautiful girl named Amber who didn’t live to see her 20th birthday.
I encourage you to watch the show. We didn’t put any commercials in it. We didn’t make a penny.
After Seattle is Dying aired, some brought up the other “faces” of homelessness. Not all homeless are addicted to drugs, some of you said.
And do you know what? I couldn’t agree more. Spot on.
Those suffering from addiction are only a subset of homelessness. A desperate, destructive subset that happens to be ruining our city.
Before the documentary we did about heroin, we did one about homelessness. You can watch that here, too, if you’d like. Again, no commercials, no profit. At the time I simply wanted to understand what was happening.

I’ve learned a lot about homelessness over the years. My wife works at United Way of King County, where decent and amazing people work tirelessly to improve the lives of people living in the margins of society, people who are fighting to make a go of it.
I’ve volunteered at the United Way’s Community Resource Exchange, an incredible event in which the homeless are treated with dignity, and are connected to dentists and barbers and doctors and a hundred other things. They receive clothing and food, and make phone calls to loved ones.
And one of the things I’ve learned is that we don’t see the majority of the homeless all that much. They’re sleeping in shelters or cars. They’re waking up and going to work or school. They’re staying with their kids at Mary’s Place, or crashing on couches til things get better. They’re the ones who want the housing, the ones who reach out for help.
Seattle is Dying wasn’t about those people. I think most of you know that. The idea was never to conflate those who are experiencing hard times with those who are battling destructive addiction, but instead to acknowledge the difference.
And the show wasn’t about the thousands of good people in our communities who’ve made it their life’s purpose to bring comfort to those who struggle in this world. Those people are saints. I am in awe of them.
But this new thing we’re seeing? The tents in the dirt and on sidewalks, the sprawling camps surrounded by giant piles of garbage and stolen bikes and a million other things ripped off from the homes and stores and cars around them? The feces and the needles and the filth? The rejection of housing, the crapped out RV’s, the repeat offenders who are arrested 50, 60, 70 times and keep getting sent back onto the streets? That’s drugs. Plain and simple. I’ve asked the cops that patrol the camps. I’ve asked the people in the camps themselves. The thing that is destroying Seattle and so many other cities is heroin and methamphetamine.
And here’s the thing: everybody knows it. But nobody says it.
Well, we said it. We said it loudly, and millions heard it and tens of thousands of you responded.
I’ll say it again here if you’d like: We don’t have a homeless crisis, we have a drug crisis.
And so when it was finally spoken, and the police told us what’s really going on, and the citizens voiced their outrage, and the business owners explained how they are under siege and nobody’s doing anything about it… well, then, some people said, “Why didn’t you talk to city leaders?
I’ll tell you why. Because we hear from them all the time. Because they can call a press conference whenever they please and we'll show up. Because when they speak we put it on the news every single night.
I didn’t speak to city and county leaders because what they’re doing isn’t working, and hasn't been for a decade.
I wanted to give voice to the thing that is spoken of at every social gathering, in every coffee shop, at every school, and over beers and at churches by young people and old people and liberals and conservatives.
I didn’t know what to call the thing at first. Then I decided to call it, “Seattle is Dying.”
“You’re demonizing the homeless!” a few people said.
“Misery porn!” someone spat.
Some took exception to me describing one person as a “wretched soul.”
I thought everyone knew what the word “wretched” means, but maybe not. It is defined as, “very unfortunate in condition or circumstances.” The man in question, sadly, was indeed a wretched soul.
The simple truth is that we held up a mirror to the city of Seattle. We didn’t show you anything that you don’t see every single day. We simply reminded you that we no longer notice the pain, suffering and death that is all around us. That we are numb.
Some people didn’t like what they saw in the mirror. You know what? I didn’t like it either.
“It’s awful to watch,” some said.
Yeah. That’s the point.
