As The Daily Mail reported, JetBlue airline officials found two people deceased in the landing compartment of a plane that had landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport in Florida. The aircraft departed JFK Airport before arriving in the Sunshine State.

All this is preamble to celebrate that Brexit hero Nigel Farage has extended the peace pipe, and openly stated that he means to ‘mend any broken fences’ with Elon Musk when he flies out to the United States for the presidential inauguration on January 20th.

Young Canadian dies after leaving emergency room due to wait times

A young Canadian writer and activist died after being told he wasn’t “dying” and made to wait over six hours in an emergency room for further screening.
Adam Burgoyne, 39, posted to X on Dec. 5, 2024, about his experience in a Quebec emergency room a day before his tragic death.
He said he went to the emergency room after feeling a pain in the left side of his chest, having nausea and clammy skin. After attempting to calm himself and breathe through it, things got worse and he decided to go to the emergency room.
“Had a bit of a health scare last night, but thankfully, it wasn’t a heart attack. Not sure what it was, though, because once they made sure I wasn’t dying, I was thrown out into the waiting room, and six hours later, I said f*ck it and went home,” the post said. “Canadian health care, folks. Best in the world.”
A day after the post was made, Burgoyne died of an aortic aneurysm.
The post has since garnered 13.1 million views. In the comments, he noted that the hospital conducted an electrocardiogram and took his blood pressure but “didn’t even do any blood work or x-rays,” though he speculated that they would have had he waited the “18 hours more” to be seen by a doctor.
“It was ECG and BP only, that was enough for them to basically triage me as ‘he can wait indefinitely’ level,” Burgoyne said in his post about the visit.
His comments sparked a conversation about the quality of Canada’s “free” healthcare system, with many sharing similar stories of being sent home or being made to wait despite being in life-threatening conditions.
One post detailed an incident where a man had been turned away from the hospital after waiting six hours in the emergency room due to shortness of breath. The man was allegedly sent home with antibiotics after being diagnosed with pneumonia, only for him to return to the hospital after passing out to be later diagnosed with a blocked artery.
Burgoyne, a gay man, was an advocate for women’s and parents’ rights and recently wrote an opinion piece about the US election on how President-elect Donald Trump’s victory benefitted not just America but the world.
He had over 9,500 followers on X, and many conservative and libertarian voices in the US and Canada followed or worked with Burgoyne.
His friend, a Substack writer with the handle “Holly Mathnerd” wrote a tribute to him on Substack.
“Publicly, he was best known on Twitter as a brave voice against the excesses of gender ideology, particularly the targeting of childhood innocence. He was deeply proud to speak up on this issue, a cause he embraced with passion and ferocity,” the Holly MathNerd wrote.
She reported that some had asked her if the aneurysm could be linked to the COVID vaccines, to which she said he had told her that he had been vaccinated and boosted a total of four times. However, she was careful not to assume a link to the shots.

Two of Australia's most powerful universities and a multi-billion dollar tech giant are fronting campaigns to silence news coverage of the Voice to influence the referendum.
A Sky News Australia investigation has uncovered a disturbing foreign-financed attempt to block political debate and news coverage around the Voice, which exposes the global fact checking system used by tech giant Meta as non-compliant with its own rules of impartiality and transparency.
In one case, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology has been allowed by Facebook parent company Meta to block and deplatform Australian journalism, despite the platform knowing it was a breach of the rules Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg established to distance himself from fact checking responsibilities.
Meta maintains its fact-checking operation is at arm's length and independent, but Sky News can reveal the tech giant signed a secret commercial contract directly with RMIT which allows the fact checking unit to be paid up to $740,000 a year from an Irish Meta subsidiary.
Zuckerberg has given promises globally that Meta does not seek to be the arbiter of truth on the internet and has insisted his platform is policed by an opaque entity known as the International fact Checking Network.
However, while RMIT was certified by the IFCN at the time the contract was signed, Sky News can reveal the certification expired in December, leaving the operation free to censor Australian journalism with no oversight at all.
It is just one of 55 fact checking operations around the world which remain signatories of the IFCN despite having expired credentials.
The commercial contract between the Melbourne university and Meta has strict clauses which allow Meta to tear up the agreement if RMIT ever loses certification, but the tech giant has not done so despite being aware that the prominent fact checker is deplatforming journalism while expired.
The university used the powers Facebook has given it to throttle Sky News Australia's Facebook page with false fact checks multiple times this year, breaching the Meta-endorsed IFCN Code of Principles and preventing millions of Australians from reading or watching Sky News Australia's journalism.
fact checkers employed by RMIT have led to numerous code breaches, including one fact checker using her social media account to label Opposition Leader Peter Dutton a fear-mongering racist for his views on the Voice.

Facebook "fact-checkers" censor peer-reviewed scientific article proving the sun, not CO2, is responsible for climate change
A peer-reviewed scientific article written by climate scientists Willie Soon and Ronan Connolly is being censored by Facebook's "fact-checkers" after it concluded that the sun, not carbon dioxide, is what causes climate change.
"We found that, depending on which scientific datasets you choose, you could explain the global warming since the 19th century as being anything from mostly natural to mostly human-caused," they wrote. "The huge uncertainty over such a key question is a major concern."
Several days after Soon and Connolly's paper was published and posted online, the United Nations's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published its Sixth Assessment Report. This report claims that there is "unequivocal" evidence that climate change is almost entirely caused by human activity.
"The journalist Alex Newman was struck by the contrast between the two different reports," wrote Soon and Connolly. "He interviewed us, representatives for the IPCC, and several other scientists for an article in The Epoch Times."
Soon and Connolly described how Newman's article spread like wildfire on social media, including Facebook.
But one of Facebook's so-called independent fact-checkers, a group known as Climate Feedback, soon stepped in to prevent the article from being seen by a wider audience.
"This 'fact-checker' website, financially supported by Facebook, TikTok, Google News Initiative and others, declared the article to be 'incorrect' and 'misleading.' Facebook then began censorsing any posts sharing the link," wrote Soon and Connolly.
Soon and Connolly fought back by using Climate Feedback's own framework for determining what is and is not misinformation. They found out that Climate Feedback's "fact-check" was guilty of 11 of the 14 classes of misinformation that the group warns against. Meanwhile, Newman's article was guilty of none of them.
"'fact-checkers' claim to provide a solution. But a weaponized 'fact-check- is nothing more than a 'narrative-check,'" wrote Soon and Connolly.

Younes, from Nablus in the West Bank, faces backlash after a video of him firing a firework into a child’s bedroom window went viral in Germany.
The shocking incident occurred on New Year’s Eve in Berlin-Neukölln, where Younes lit the firework in a residential area and aimed it at an apartment building. The rocket flew into a third-floor window, which belonged to a child’s bedroom, and exploded in a fiery blast that set the room ablaze. Fortunately, no one was in the room at the time.
The video, which garnered over 10 million views before Younes deleted it, sparked widespread outrage. In response, Younes posted a follow-up video apologizing to the homeowner, claiming he didn’t know the rocket’s trajectory and insisting the incident was unintentional.
In a predictable move, Younes played the victim card, alleging “racist” attacks in response to the backlash. However, his arrest has been widely welcomed as authorities continue to investigate the incident.

A court in Liege, Belgium, is due to consider whether European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has legal immunity against corruption charges related to her murky involvement in the purchase of coronavirus vaccines. What is the scandal all about? Sputnik explores.
In 2022, US media reported that von der Leyen had communicated with Albert Bourla, chief executive of the US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, about clinching a long-term contract to purchase 1.8 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines worth €35 billion ($37.6 billion), even before they passed clinical trials.
Negotiations on the deal were conducted informally in late 2020 via SMS messages and without prior consent of EU member states.
The European Commission President also texted her husband, Heiko von der Leyen, who serves as the medical director at Orgenesis, a company that collaborates with Pfizer. All the messages were then accidentally deleted, Ursula von der Leyen claimed.
As a result, she has been accused of “usurpation of functions and title,” destruction of public documents, and high-level corruption charges that were initiated by Belgian lobbyist Frederic Baldan.
The first hearing on his complaint was held on 17 May 2024, when the Liege court confirmed that the so-called Pfizegate case is in line with its jurisdiction and should not be handed to the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO), created on the initiative of von der Leyen herself, due to an obvious conflict of interests.
The second hearing slated for December 5 was actually disrupted due to a demarche by the EPPO, which sent a counter-request to the court for von der Leyen's immunity. The EPPO argues that von der Leyen has immunity from prosecution for corruption.
European Commission spokesperson Stefan de Keersmaecker said on January 5 that von der Leyen had canceled all "external engagements" in the coming days after contracting "severe pneumonia."

An internet censorship bill which would have censored legal online content posted on social media through burdensome regulations is likely dead now that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has prorogued Parliament until the end of March.
Bill C-63, known as the Online Harms Act, was put forth under the guise of protecting children from exploitation online but also sought to expand the scope of “hate speech” prosecutions, and even desired to target such speech retroactively and preemptively.
The bill had called for the creation of a Digital Safety Commission, a digital safety ombudsperson, and a Digital Safety Office, all tasked with policing internet content. It was blasted by constitutional experts as troublesome.
Due to Trudeau announcing on Monday morning that he plans to step down as Liberal Party leader once a new leader has been chosen, Parliament has been shut down. This means all bills, committees and other meetings have all been canceled.
In Canada, the procedure of proroguing Parliament, which is not often used, must first be approved by Governor General Mary Simon. On Monday, she granted Trudeau’s request to prorogue Parliament until the end of March as the Liberals select a new leader.
Canada’s House of Commons procedure and practice reads, “Bills which have not received Royal Assent before prorogation are ‘entirely terminated’ and to be proceeded with in the new session, must be reintroduced as if they had.”
“On occasion, however, bills have been reinstated by motion at the start of a new session at the same stage they had reached at the end of the previous session; committee work has similarly been revived.”
The likelihood of bills being “reinstated” via a motion is highly unlikely, as come March when Parliament resumes, the government will likely fall, as all opposition parties have promised to vote no-confidence in the Liberal government.
Bill C-63 bill’s “hate speech” section is accompanied by broad definitions, severe penalties, and dubious tactics, including levying preemptive judgments against people if they are feared to be likely to commit an act of “hate” in the future. Continue…
