No Elections Using Computers in California as State Officials Freeze Spending, State Faces $68 Billion Deficit

The most recent information received from state officials of California is that there has been issued a spending freeze immediately for all state agencies by the DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE:

Accordingly, this BL directs all entities under the Governor’s direct executive authority to take immediate action to reduce current-year General Fund expenditures. Departments shall also take measures to ensure more prudent spending from other state funds given the fiscal outlook. Statewide Constitutional Officers are strongly encouraged to comply with the provisions of this BL“.

This freeze is to last for the remainder of the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 fiscal years. New California State has been predicting for at least seven years the collapse would happen and its happened. California has “run out of other peoples money”. Now what?

According to Chriss Street CEO New California State, Former Treasurer Orange County, CA: “The State’s spending freeze means there will be no money in California to spend on multibillion dollar computer systems. Counties will have to use same day paper ballots with hand counting which cost a fraction of the complex machines to operate. The savings to the counties and state are in the tens of billions of dollars”.

In spite of numerous conversations with California state officials over the years by New California state officials about inaccurate financial statements, California’s lack of the annually required federal Audit Report since 2018 (only state in the union without a report), the loss by fraud of at a minimum of $180 billion through the Employment Development Department (EDD) and slow pay to vendors it looks like Newsom’s own fraud as Governor about the real California financials are now exposed.

The Legislative Analyst Office(LAO) came up with a figure of $68 billion shortfall currently in this 2023-2024 fiscal year. New California State believes the LAO’s number of $68 billion shortfall is much less than what we predicted the real number maybe be well over $100 billion as a shortfall of cash.

New California expects a recession to hit California in January 2024 which will add an additional $35-45 billion added on to the LAO’s own numbers. When everything is all said and done in the next couple of months this number maybe as high as $200 billion. We are expecting more numbers in the next week.

This is an important story from the standpoint that there has been issued by the state a spending freeze by all aspects of the state”.

So what that means though in terms of the elections. Elections are very expensive especially in the computer world. It looks like there is no money that is going to be allocated to the counties to conduct elections using the various and sundry election systems. That means that these counties are going to be forced to go to one day paper ballot elections because the cost savings is enormous compared to the billion dollar industrial level vote systems that they have in California.

It means also that there will be no mail in ballots. There will be no chain of custody issues like we find with mail in ballots, there will be no 29 days of voting with your mail in ballots before the election day and there will be no 27 days after election day allocated to count the paper ballots. The amount of time to vote before and after election day have been open invitations to fraud so that problem is gone. The other problem of course is the electronic changing of ballots as whole numbers into fractionated votes inside the machines as weighted numbers that problem will no longer exist.

Boston Globe Rejects Harvard’s Excuses for President Claudine Gay’s Plagiarism Scandal

The reliably left-wing Boston Globe is not satisfied with Harvard University’s decision to wave away mounds of evidence that its president, Claudine Gay, committed plagiarism in one scholarly work after another, and the paper is demanding an accounting on the grounds that the school is hurting American scholarship.

In a December 18 op-ed attributed to the Globe’s editorial board, the paper notes that Harvard seems to admit that Gay engaged in “inadequate citation” of her sources at the very least. However, the paper can not understand how the university can then go on and claim that Gay’s lax citations and verbatim lifting of passages do not violate “standards for research misconduct.”

Harvard’s desire to shield Gay led the paper to deliver a stark “Huh?” in reply to the head-turning proclamations of her innocence.

The Globe feels that the entire episode is a blot on Harvard’s reputation as well as a problem for all of academia. “The rest of American higher education looks to Harvard for guidance on academic norm,” the paper insisted, adding:

Report Claims Scientists Lied To Pentagon Officials Regarding Coronavirus Research In Wuhan

Documents recently revealed that American researchers concealed their intentions to conduct high-risk coronavirus research in Wuhan, China, from the Pentagon back in 2018.

Reportedly, the Wuhan Institute of Virology and U.S. scientists collaborated on the research proposal, which was named “Project DEFUSE,” sparking questions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic’s origins.

According to the report, the virus experiments were “proposed to occur in part in Wuhan with fewer safety precautions than required in the US — apparently to save on costs.”

The documents stated that American scientists like Ralph S. Baric and Peter Daszak, among others, purposely lied about their plans to conduct high-risk coronavirus research in Wuhan with lax safety regulations.

To ease the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)’s concerns, Daszak reportedly clarified that a large portion of the work would be conducted in Wuhan but left out crucial information from the formal proposal.

In an attempt to conceal the involvement of Chinese researchers and sidestep issues related to national security, Daszak attempted to minimize the proposal’s non-U.S. focus.

The DEFUSE proposal was never disclosed to the public until it was later leaked.

According to the documents that the watchdog group U.S. Right To Know obtained, the experiments were designed to demonstrate the “viability of applying high-risk techniques to more deadly viruses,” such as Nipah, Marburg, Ebola, and Hendra.

In 1988, Vance moved to Seattle because, according to Vance, he wanted to build a name for himself independent of his father's influence. In 1995, Vance co-founded McNaul Ebel Nawrot Helgren & Vance. During this time, Vance taught trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at Seattle University School of Law.

In 2004, Vance returned to New York, where he joined Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason, Anello & Bohrer, P.C. as a principal.

Vance is admitted to the bar in New York State, Washington state, and Washington, D.C., and to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York and Western and Eastern Districts of Washington, and the U.S. Second and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld met Monday with several of the hostages freed by Hamas and the families of those still held captive in Gaza.

The 69-year-old “Seinfeld” actor — who worked on a kibbutz in Israel as a teen — arrived in Tel Aviv with his wife Jessica to attend an event held by the Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum, where he spoke with the former hostages and relatives for hours to show his support over their plight.

“Seinfeld told the families that he feels a deep commitment to raising awareness around the world about the issue of the hostages,” the forum said in a statement.

The organization said those in attendance “thank the Seinfeld family for their moving visit to the families’ headquarters and their unwavering support for the families of the hostages.”

At the event, the comedian was seen wearing a “Bring them home” dog tag around his neck, a symbol of solidarity for the nearly 130 hostages that remain captive in Gaza.

Seinfeld went on to join a group Tuesday morning visiting Kibbutz Be’eri, one of the villages destroyed by Hamas on Oct. 7, as well as the location of the Nova rave, where more than 300 people were slaughtered.

The Jewish American comedian has said he worked on a kibbutz when he was 16 and that he will “always stand with Israel and the Jewish people.”

After the terrorist attack that killed more than 1,200 people, Seinfeld joined hundreds of celebrities to condemn the attacks as an act of “evil.

“There is no justification or rationalization for Hamas’ actions,” the actors’ letter read. “These are barbaric acts of terrorism that must be called out by everyone.”

Israeli President Isaac Herzog claimed Tuesday that his nation was prepared for a second pause in fighting — as long as Hamas adheres to the agreed-upon rules — during a meeting with ambassadors from 80 countries. The previous cease-fire was fueled by the release of Hamas hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, as well as increased humanitarian aid flowing into war-torn Gaza.

“I can reiterate the fact that Israel is ready for another humanitarian pause and additional humanitarian aid in order to enable the release of hostages. And the responsibility lies fully with [Yahya] Sinwar and the leadership of Hamas,” Herzog told the ambassadors.

The "longer-term impact on oil prices of Houthis' attacks on oil tankers through the Red Sea is a complicated one, but the attacks do have immediate repercussions: delay in delivery of crude and higher shipping costs," said Fawad Razaqzada, market analyst at City Index and FOREX.com, in emailed commentary.

Given that, "the oil price gains are justified," he said in market commentary.

Still, it's "very difficult to say how long the gains will last for, or how much higher will prices go from here on, just on the back of this factor alone."

API reported a 939k barrel crude inventory build, ending the streak of draws (and opposite to the expectations. Stockpiles at the Cushing Hub rose for the 9th week in a row and products also saw builds. WTI was hovering around $74.25 ahead of the API print and limped lower after the unexpected build. Despite the current rally, some traders don’t anticipate long-term price impacts for crude, and timespreads - a critical barometer for supply and demand - continue to indicate weakness.

WTI’s prompt spread, the difference between its January and February contracts, settled at 50 cents in contango, signaling an abundance of barrels available in the near term.

"As the holiday season approaches, a stable outcome for the region looks elusive," said Stephen Innes, managing partner at SPI Asset Management, in market commentary.

"The longer the war in Gaza rages on, the escalating humanitarian crisis may intensify political pressure on various actors, potentially leading to an expansion of the conflict."

And "in the midst of rocket attacks and bombings, the fog of war increases the likelihood of unpredictable events and significant miscalculations, potentially resulting in further escalation," said Innes.
