On November 7, 2017, United Airlines flew its last 747 flight. This is a special moment for our industry as we say a fond farewell to an aircraft that transformed the skies by making air travel affordable and convenient to many people.

IAC was first awarded a contract with United in the early 1990s, which gave IAC (at the time called Leading Edge Aviation Services) the opportunity to repaint our first Boeing 747. Historically, IAC has painted United 747s at our Amarillo, Texas and Victorville, California facilities. Over the years, United’s 747 have worn a variety of liveries. IAC has painted 3 of the 6 different paint schemes for the carrier, including:

Cocaine Found In White House

A powdery white substance that tested positive as cocaine in preliminary tests was found in the White House, sparking an investigation from the U.S. Secret Service, the agency said Tuesday.

KEY FACTS

Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the Secret Service, told Forbes that the white powder was found in the White House Sunday evening and that preliminary tests showed it was cocaine.

Guglielmi said the discovery prompted a brief evacuation–President Joe Biden was at Camp David and not in the White House at the time–and response from the Washington, D.C., Fire Department, which quickly determined the substance to be nonhazardous.

The Secret Service has launched an investigation into how it entered the White House, Guglielmi said.

The substance was discovered in a work area in the west wing by members of the Uniformed Division of the Secret Service conducting routine rounds through the building, the secret service told Forbes.

The news was first broken after several news organizations reportedly heard firefighters discussing the discovery on public radio channels.

Zelensky clashes with EU state president over weapons demands

Ukraine’s leader berated his Bulgarian host in a televised meeting

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev found himself lectured by his Ukrainian guest Vladimir Zelensky on Thursday, after telling him thatSofia had no weapons to spare for Kiev. As TV cameras documented their meeting, Zelensky attacked Radev for advocating a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

“I do not agree to provide ammunition, especially from the Bulgarian army reserves,”Radev told Zelensky, according to one of the translations.“I continue to maintain that this conflict has no military solution and more and more weapons will not solve it.”

Zelensky objected to Radev’s use of the term “conflict,” insisting that “this is definitely a war.”

“God forbid, some tragedy should befall you and you should be in my place,” he added. “And if people with shared values do not help, what will you do? You would say: Putin, please grab Bulgarian territory?”

“I also want to tell you, whatever your army has in terms of munitions, it will not be enough to fight with the Russian Federation. You don’t have a bad army, your people are good but it would not be enough to fight against 160 million people. That is why it is good to give the people to defend themselves, so that the war does not come to you, to the Poles, to the Romanians – war knows no distance, I can tell you,” the Ukrainian leader told his host. (Man this guy is going to end up ostracized and banned. This is typical of Zelensky and Ukraine, no thank you’s but just we need more.)

“You cannot support Russia and support a balancing position because Russia wants to destroy NATO, wants to destroy Europe and the European Union; these are their goals. Do you get me?” Zelensky told Radev.

According to Politico’s description of the incident, Zelensky “savaged” Radev and “opened up with both barrels” to “maul” the Bulgarian president, delivering his words “with measured scorn” and “barbed irony” as Radev “took refuge” in the sheet of paper in his hands. TheBulgarian president eventually asked the cameras to leave the room.

NATO countries have sent billions of dollars worth of weapons, ammunition and equipment to Ukraine since February 2022, while insisting they were not directly involved in the conflict with Russia.

Earlier in the day, Zelensky met with the government of PM Nikolai Denkov, who has only been in office for a month. Denkov’s cabinet supports selling weapons to Kiev. The Ukrainian delegation departed Sofia for Prague, on board a Czech air force transport.

3 years ago I became the first American citizen to be banned from an airline for refusing to wear a mask. I was on American Airlines, and an overzealous flight attendant told me it was a federal law that I wear a mask, and that the plane wouldn’t leave unless I did. I told her it was not a federal law. In fact, at that point it wasn’t even a mandatory airline policy. I was told to leave the plane, which I did with no argument. A reporter from CNN was on that plane and turned my refusal to participate in the insanity that was sweeping our nation into a story, which became international news. Because of the pressure from the leftwing media, the mandatory mask policy was instituted a day or two after my incident, and I was banned from American Airlines until such time that “masks are no longer required”.

I’m sure there are many people in this world who would like me to feel ashamed about the incident and the subsequent banning, but I do not. At a time in history when most people voluntarily went along with all that was illogical because it was easier not to stand up against the madness, and even consented to giving up their rights, I stood by my principles. Even when it was costly and unpopular to do so.

3 years later, I’m flying American Airlines again for the first time today. Never voluntarily comply to do what you know in your heart to be wrong.
