Investor Matt Allen posted an interesting tweet on how one Democrat lawmaker was able to wade through the collapse of First Republic Bank.

After she sold First Republic, she bought JP Morgan Chase which just bought First Republic. She clearly had inside information.

The Free Beacon reported:

Florida Democratic representative Lois Frankel is capitalizing on First Republic Bank’s collapse and subsequent buyout by JP Morgan Chase & Co, according to congressional financial disclosures reported on by Newsweek.

Frankel sold her stock in the San Francisco-based bank on March 16, weeks before the value of its shares dropped 75 percent and U.S. regulators seized the failing bank’s assets, Newsweek reported. A few days later, on March 22, Frankel bought stock in JP Morgan Chase & Co, which on Monday bought most of First Republic Bank’s assets. The exact amount of stock Frankel traded is unknown, but according to the filing, the value for each trade was between $1,001 and $15,000, Newsweek reported.

Frankel’s shrewd trading fuels mounting criticism of members of Congress buying and selling stocks, which allows them to profit from industries they are supposed to regulate. Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D., Ore.) and John Curtis (R., Utah) also reported trading First Republic Bank stocks before its collapse.

Global AI adoption and investment are soaring. By one account, 37 percent of organizations have deployed AI solutions—up 270 percent from four years ago.1 Analysts forecast global AI spending will more than double over the next three years, topping US$79 billion by 2022.2

Companies and countries around the globe increasingly view development of strong AI capabilities as imperative to staying competitive. Deloitte’s State of AI in the Enterprise, 2nd Edition offers a global perspective of AI early adopters, based on surveying 1,900 IT and business executives from seven countries and a variety of industries.3 These adopters are increasing their spending on AI technologies and realizing positive returns. Almost two-thirds (65 percent) report that AI technologies are enabling their organizations to move ahead of the competition. Sixty-three percent of the leaders surveyed already view AI as “very” or “critically” important to their business success, and that number is expected to grow to 81 percent within two years.

These leaders see AI rapidly transforming their businesses and industries. Fifty-seven percent predict that AI will “substantially transform” their company within the next three years; two-thirds believe that their industry’s transformation will happen within five years. As AI drives these transformations, it is changing how work gets done in organizations by making operations more efficient, supporting better decision-making, and freeing up workers from certain tasks. The nature of job roles, and the skills that are most needed, are evolving.

Indeed, the effect AI will ultimately have on jobs is uncertain: Are we staring at a dim future in which AI-driven automation has made most jobs obsolete, or is AI ushering in a new age characterized by humans working in collaboration with the technologies—augmented by AI capabilities rather than displaced by them?4 Early indicators support the optimistic view: While AI adopters express concern about automation as an ethical risk, they emphatically believe that human workers and AI will augment each other, changing the nature of work for the better.

The changing nature of work

As AI adoption advances, the way organizations do their work is evolving. Seventy-one percent of adopters report that AI technologies have already changed their company’s job roles and necessary skills, and 82 percent believe AI will lead to moderate or substantial changes to job roles and skills over the next three years.

For AI adopters, improving internal business operations is a benefit on par with enhancing products and services (figure 1). TiVo, for example, streamlines IT operations by using a machine learning5 platform to automatically detect, classify, aggregate, and route IT incidents.6 The AI-aided process has reduced actionable events from about 2,500 to 150 daily, enabling the professionals in TiVo’s network operations center to more easily manage highly complex operations, 24/7…..really long article. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made one of the biggest campaign promises yet and that’s he will pardon whistleblowers Edward Snowden and Julian Assange if he’s elected as President.

In his latest tweet, Kennedy expressed that the United States doesn’t celebrate free speech but rather persecutes journalists and whistleblowers.

Kennedy is the only Democratic presidential candidate running that has promised to pardon both Snowden and Assange.

As the Gateway Pundit previously reported Eric Snowden is currently in exile in Russia after the Department of Justice filed three charges against Snowden two of which fall under the Espionage Act, because he allegedly released confidential information from the NSA in 2013 which revealed the Obama administration was spying on the American people illegally.

The founder of Wikileaks Julian Assange is currently being held in a London prison and is appealing his extradition to the United States to face 17 charges of espionage for reportedly publishing classified US government documents on WikiLeaks.

Biden is not very fond of pardoning Assange and has publicly stated he will not pardon the Australian whistleblower.

Major Banks Could Be Liable For Jeffrey Epstein Sex Trafficking: Judge

Two major banks and a bank executive could be liable for Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking, a judge has ruled.

Plaintiffs have presented enough evidence that JPMorgan Chase, longtime JPMorgan executive Jes Staley, and Deutsche Bank could be liable for Epstein’s sex trafficking, U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff said on May 1 as he rejected motions to dismiss cases brought against Staley and the institutions.

“Plaintiffs have pled sufficient facts to support their allegations that JP Morgan had … knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking venture, either directly or by recklessly disregarding what was plainly to be seen,” Rakoff, a Clinton appointee, wrote in a 54-page decision.

One of the plaintiffs, a woman who says she was abused by Epstein and his associates, has also pled “sufficient facts to support her allegation that Deutsche Bank knew or recklessly disregarded that Jeffrey Epstein ran a sex-trafficking venture,” the judge also said.

The ruling came in cases brought by several alleged Epstein victims and the U.S. Virgin Islands government against JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank. It also covers a claim filed against Staley by JP Morgan.

The banks are accused of violating federal law that prohibits sex trafficking of children by force, fraud, or coercion, with one section of the law allowing for the punishment of people who knowingly benefit financially from participating in a sex trafficking venture.

Defendants have argued they did not participate in Epstein’s venture because they were only providing typical banking services. Participation in a venture requires “specific conduct that furthered the sex trafficking venture,” or conduct that is “more than just passive facilitation,” previous rulings have stated. But plaintiffs have presented evidence that both banks structured the voluminous cash withdrawals Epstein enacted in ways that hid how they were suspicious, the judge said, in addition to delaying or failing to file suspicious activity reports.

A major federal agency is keeping its COVID-19 vaccine mandate in place even as most agencies are ending their vaccination requirements.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is retaining its mandate, Secretary Denis McDonough said in a message to employees reviewed by The Epoch Times.

The White House’s announcement that many mandates are ending “will not impact” the VA, McDonough said. “To ensure the safety of Veterans and our colleagues, VA health care personnel will still be required to be vaccinated at this time,” he told workers.

“As we transition to this new phase of our response to the pandemic, the vaccine (including booster shots) remains the best way to protect you, your families, your colleagues, and Veterans from COVID-19.”

A VA spokesperson declined to provide any data consulted when choosing to keep the mandate in place.

The VA’s website claims that vaccines “help protect you from getting severe illness” and “offer good protection against most COVID-19 variants,” pointing in part to observational data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that indicate the vaccines provide poor protection against symptomatic infection and transient shielding against hospitalization.

No clinical trial efficacy data has been made public for updated shots from Moderna and Pfizer, and none of the vaccines prevent infection or transmission.

The VA is the second-largest federal agency, employing nearly 400,000 people.

The VA was the first U.S. agency to mandate vaccination for its workers.

“We’re mandating vaccines for Title 38 employees because it’s the best way to keep veterans safe, especially as the Delta variant spreads across the country,” McDonough, an appointee of President Joe Biden, said in a statement on July 26, 2021.

The mandate was later expanded to most Veterans Health Administration employees and volunteers. It covers personnel such as psychologists, pharmacists, housekeepers, social workers, volunteers, and contractors.

“Effectively, this means that any Veterans Health Administration (VHA) employee, volunteer, or contractor who works in VHA facilities, visits VHA facilities, or provides direct care to those we serve will still be subject to the vaccine requirement at this time,” McDonough said on Monday.

The mandate does not cover employees deemed to be VA health care personnel.

Mandates imposed by two other agencies, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Indian Health Service, are also remaining in place while the agencies review the requirements, the Biden administration said.

The NIH did not return requests for comment, and the health service declined to provide more details.

Top US general predicts Ukraine conflict duration

Joint Chiefs chair Mark Milley said that negotiations might happen in “a year or two”

The US has helped train and equip the Ukrainian military for the upcoming operations, whether offensive or defensive, but the fighting is unlikely to produce a clear winner in 2023, General Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has told the outlet Foreign Affairs on a podcast that aired on Tuesday.

Asked what he expected of the much-heralded Ukrainian counteroffensive,Milley told Foreign Affairsthat the US and its European NATO partners have helped Ukraine train and equip “about nine brigades worth of combined arms, armor, and mech[anized] infantry type forces” over the past several months, as well as some light infantry.

Kiev’s forces “right now have the capability to attack, they can conduct offensive operations, and they also have the capability to defend, significantly enhanced from what they were just a year ago for conventional operations,” he said. “They’ve got a significant amount of planning and coordinationand all of that to do, if they were to do an offensive operation.”

According to Milley, if the Ukrainians do launch an offensive, anything is possible, from collapsing the Russian front entirely to no success at all.

I do think, though, that the probability of either side achieving their political objectives – war is about politics through the sole use of military means – I think that’s going to be very difficult, very challenging. And frankly, I don’t think the probability of that is likely in this year.

Milley claimed theRussian military had suffered 250,000 casualtiesand that the army, society and economy have all been severely impacted by the conflict. He would not speculate about Ukrainian casualties. TheKremlin has laughed off US estimates of Russian deaths as fabricated “out of nowhere.”(Scott Ritter said there’s only about 19,000-25,000 killed and very little casualties, so where Milley is getting this is totally made up)

The US general stuck by those claims, however, and also asserted that Russia had “failed” to achieve any of its objectives in Ukraine. Based on that, he argued that “rational folks” in Moscow would be convinced “over either months or a year or two” to negotiate, “because they’re not going to win.”(OK now he’s pretending he’s talking to the “rational folks in the Kremlin, when no one from Russia has spoken with the US leadership of military of elsewhere for close to a year)

Congressman Michael McCaul, who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said on Monday that the offensive needed to present a success so the West could keep funding Kiev, “after which we can then maybe have negotiations, to finally resolve this.”

The bulk of the podcast was devoted to China, with Milley arguing that the US “should do what it can to make sure” that Russia and China don’t set up a strategic military alliance. He dismissed the present level of military ties between Moscow and Beijing as “very, very modest.”

Milley also maintained that both Russia and China were aware of the US military might and did not wish a direct confrontation with Washington.

Sports radio host and former ESPN personality Da Le Batard was joined by a pair of drag queens on his Draft Kings-sponsored program, The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, to defend the grooming of children in protest of Florida legislation that bars children from attending live, sexually explicit performances, including drag shows, which Le Batard says he’s a regular attendee of.

Dan Le Batard and Billy Corben were recently joined on his Miami-based sports talk show by fully-costumed drag queens “Karla Croqueta” and “Opal Am Rah,” who Le Batard, apparently a regular attendee at drag performances, described as two “Miami legends.”

“Very exciting, we’ve got a lot of sparkle in here. The scent in here just got a lot better,” Le Batard said as he introduced the drag queens to his audience, for the express purpose of defending the homosexual grooming of children.

“Well, you are, you’re a regular at the drag shows, Dan, aren’t you?” Corben said.

“At the palace?” responded Le Batard. “I went a couple of weeks ago with John Amaechi” (a gay former NBA player), he said, describing the homosexually-charged performances as “great fun,” before joining Corben and the drag queens in slamming the Florida Legislature for barring children from the sexually-charged performances.

In a video clip of the segment posted to Twitter by the @LeBatardShow account, bearded drag queen “Karla Croqueta” openly admits that his performances are meant to expose children to homosexuality and his alternative lifestyle and that he feels justified in doing so because when he was a child, he “didn’t know what a queer person looked like.”

“Here I am, I finally have this opportunity to be loud, authentic, queer, and I have to censor myself,” he went on, complaining about having to “censor” himself in front of children by not performing homosexual acts in front of them.

The legislation that Le Batard and company were protesting on the program is Florida Senate Bill 1438, a bill that bars the admission of children to “adult live performances,” which it defines as “a presentation that depicts or simulates nudity, sexual conduct, or specific sexual activities.”

The bill was crafted to combat the rise in drag shows geared towards children, in which grown men dress as caricatures of women, and sometimes demons, to perform simulated sex acts in front of or even with children and at times expose themselves to them.

In several instances, drag queens who’ve deliberately performed in front of children or have attended “drag queen story hour” events have been outed as convicted child sex predators.

Man Arrested Outside Buckingham Palace as Police Conduct Controlled Explosion

Ahead of King Charles III’s coronation, a man threw what police called suspected shotgun cartridges onto the palace grounds, and a bag he carried was detonated as a precaution.

The British police conducted a controlled explosion outside Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, detonating a bag taken from a man who they said had thrown suspected shotgun cartridges onto palace grounds just days ahead of King Charles III’s coronation.

There were no injuries and no shots were fired, but the man was swiftly detained and subsequently arrested after he was found to be carrying a knife, London’s Metropolitan Police said. He was not in possession of a firearm and the incident is not currently being treated as terror related, they added.

The man was detained after throwing items “suspected to be shotgun cartridges” and was found to be carrying “a suspicious bag,” the police said in a statement. The police said they conducted a controlled explosion on the bag “as a precaution” following an assessment by specialists who arrived on scene.

They did not say what made the bag suspicious, or whether it turned out to contain anything dangerous.

The episode came amid simmering tensions in the run-up to the event on Saturday when Charles will be formally crowned. The Metropolitan Police sent warning letters this week to anti-monarchists planning to protest at the coronation. New laws that will come into effect on Wednesday will give the authorities powers to swiftly arrest and search potential disrupters, and will carry the threat of stiff prison sentences.

The motives of the man responsible for the incident on Tuesday were not immediately clear. The BBC reported that the king and queen consort were not at the palace at the time, but the Metropolitan Police would not confirm this.

Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent Joseph McDonald said that officers had “worked immediately to detain the man and he has been taken into police custody,” according to the statement. “Officers remain at the scene and further enquiries are ongoing.”

For those glued to running news coverage in the days leading up to the coronation, surreal scenes played out on live television, as the British lawmaker Jacob Rees-Mogg, as host of a news program, was forced to suspend his broadcast after being told by the police to evacuate.

“The police are live with us now and telling us that we’ve got to evacuate,” he said from a portable broadcasting booth set up outside the palace.

“I’m very sorry to say that it is good evening from me for the time being,” he added, as an explosion rang out in the background. “I think that was probably a controlled explosion in the background,” he continued calmly.
