Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert J. Contee III announced Friday an investigation into seven Washington, D.C., police officers and supervisors within the department who confiscated illegal guns without making arrests.
"In these cases, the suspect was not arrested, and the suspect should’ve been arrested," Contee said during a press conference Friday evening. "The firearm was taken and placed into evidence, however, the suspect was allowed to go free, and that’s just not the way that we conduct business in the Metropolitan Police Department."
The investigation into the alleged misconduct started after a community member made an unrelated complaint against D.C. officers on Sept. 11, according to Contee.
During an investigation into that complaint, officials learned of a separate incident involving two officers confiscating an illegal gun from a suspect without making an arrest.
Contee said the officers placed the gun into evidence, but their written account of what unfolded during the seizure did not match body camera footage.
As officials continued their review of the incident, they found that five more members of the department had been involved in similar cases, Contee explained.
Two sergeants and five officers have now been placed on non-contact status amid the internal investigation.
The names of the accused have not been released. Contee said investigators have found a total of seven similar incidents, all of which took place in the 7th District.

WASHINGTON (AP) — With public confidence diminished and justices sparring openly over the institution’s legitimacy, the Supreme Court on Monday will begin a new term that could push American law to the right on issues of race, voting and the environment.
Following June’s momentous overturning of nearly 50 years of constitutional protections for abortion rights, the court is diving back in with an aggressive agenda that seems likely to split its six conservative justices from its three liberals.
“It’s not going to be a sleepy term,” said Allison Orr Larsen, a William and Mary law professor. “Cases the court already has agreed to hear really have the potential to bring some pretty significant changes to the law.”
Into this swirling mix steps new Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the court’s first Black woman. Jackson took the seat of Justice Stephen Breyer, a member of the court’s liberal wing, who retired in June. She’s not expected to alter the liberal-conservative divide on the court, but for the first time the court has four women as justices and white men no longer hold a majority.

It was a frigid Sunday evening at the Catholic Newman Center in Salt Lake City when the priest warned parishioners who had gathered after Mass that their right to private confessions was in jeopardy.
A new law would break that sacred bond, the priest said, and directed the parishioners to sign a one-page form letter on their way out. “I/We Oppose HB90,” began the letter, stacked next to pre-addressed envelopes. “HB90 is an improper interference of the government into the practice of religion in Utah.”
In the following days of February 2020, Utah’s Catholic diocese, which oversees dozens of churches, says it collected some 9,000 signed letters from parishioners and sent them to state Rep. Angela Romero, a Democrat who had been working on the bill as part of her campaign against child sexual abuse. HB90 targeted Utah’s “clergy-penitent privilege,” a law similar to those in many states that exempts clergy of all denominations from the requirement to report child abuse if they learn about the crime in a confessional setting.
Utah’s Catholic leaders had mobilized against HB90 arguing that it threatened the sacred privacy of confessions. More importantly, it met with disapproval from some members in the powerful Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, known as the Mormon church, whose followers comprise the vast majority of the state Legislature. HB90 was dead on arrival.
In 33 states, clergy are exempt from any laws requiring professionals such as teachers, physicians and psychotherapists to report information about alleged child sexual abuse to police or child welfare officials if the church deems the information privileged.
This loophole has resulted in an unknown number of predators being allowed to continue abusing children for years despite having confessed the behavior to religious officials. In many of these cases, the privilege has been invoked to shield religious groups from civil and criminal liability after the abuse became known to civil authorities.
Over the past two decades state lawmakers like Romero have proposed more than 130 bills seeking to create or amend child sex abuse reporting laws, an Associated Press review found. All either targeted the loophole and failed to close it, or amended the mandatory reporting statute without touching the clergy privilege amid intense opposition from religious groups. The AP found that the Roman Catholic Church has used its well-funded lobbying infrastructure and deep influence among lawmakers in some states to protect the privilege, and that influential members of the Mormon church and Jehovah’s Witnesses have also worked in statehouses and courts to preserve it in areas where their membership is high.
In Maryland a successful campaign to defeat a proposal that would have closed the clergy-penitent loophole was led by a Catholic cardinal who would later be defrocked for sexually abusing children and adult seminarians.
In other states, such as California, Missouri and New Mexico, vociferous public and backroom opposition to bills aimed at closing the loophole from the Catholic and Mormon churches successfully derailed legislative reform efforts.
“They believe they’re on a divine mission that justifies keeping the name and the reputation of their institution pristine,” said David Finkelhor, director of the Crimes Against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire, speaking of several religious groups. “So the leadership has a strong disincentive to involve the authorities, police or child protection people.”

I think it is possible that I may have found a director who is even worse than the Oscar winning A+ list director that has been in this space frequently or even Woody Allen. The director of which I am speaking is an Oscar winner, but not for what you might think. It is shocking actually he does not have more Oscar wins.
I do hope this is in some small part due to his raping and abusing women throughout his career. Although the number of actresses he abused is in the dozens, I am going to focus on just a few of his more notorious crimes.
He raped three tweens during a casting process and gave the role to the tween he said was the one who was the best in bed. He later ordered her to sleep with the much much older foreign born co-star on the movie who would go on to have an A list career. That co-star injured her severely and production had to be stopped for a week to allow her to recover.
The director kept her around for a couple of years under the guise of getting her more roles, but the real reason was he could send her out to find other tweens and early teens to bring back to his place where he would get them drunk or slip them drugs and then rape them. He often filmed these rapes and would film the actress with the other tween and teen females.
In the movie for which he is most famous he had friends of one of his children come to the set with the child. All of the friends were probably no older than 7 or 8. He molested a dozen of them at least during the filming of the movie and filmed many of them. When he died there were hundreds of hours of footage which was some of the most extreme versions of child porn anywhere.

A Florida school asked second-graders to submit a photo of themselves in a bathtub doing reading homework — and then kicked out one student whose parents complained.
Misty and Christopher Dunham reached out to their daughter McKenzie’s teacher at Victory Christian Academy in Jacksonville to ask “what the intentions are” for the homework assignment, Action News Jax said.
The response of the 8-year-old’s teacher was not up to snuff.
“She did send out a message saying, ‘you should be in pajamas, be in your uniform, have fun with it.’ But, it didn’t sit right,” Misty Dunham reportedly said.
“A bathtub is not appropriate for a child to take a picture.”
Misty Dunham then escalated the situation to the administration of Victory Christian Academy when she was told “we have been sending this homework assignment for years, and you’re the only one complaining about it. Just cover your child in pillows or pajamas,” according to a police report filed by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Pastor Jesse Latta, the president of Victory Christian Academy, defended the school in a statement, writing that the assignment “was taken out of an online teacher resource and has been used in many schools.”
Misty and Christopher Dunham accuse Victory Christian Academy of retaliating against them by removing McKenzie from the school without any rationale. Misty Dunham said that after the complaint, the school requested a parental withdrawal and when she and her husband refused, it went forward with an administrative withdrawal.
“She did something right by telling Mom and Dad that she wasn’t comfortable with something, and now she’s no longer in school,” Christopher Dunham said.
While Latta refused to confirm or deny whether the school forced Dunham’s daughter to leave, he said the school does not plan on repeating the assignment next school year.
“While the assignment was completely innocent, out of an abundance of caution and for there to be no misunderstandings, our administration has removed this particular assignment for any future use,” Latta said. “We value our children and their safety is our top priority. We will continue to serve the children and families in which the Lord has graciously allowed us to have a part in their lives.”

Wall Street this September witnessed the worst month since March 2020 for S&P 500, which measures the value of the stocks of around 500 of the largest publicly traded companies in the US. The benchmark index ended with a 9.3% loss as its third straight losing quarter and now its lowest level since November 2020.
Fear of a possible recession is one of the main driving forces behind the financial market's continued struggle amid skyrocketing interest rates expected to overcome the high inflation that has swept the world. Just last Thursday, citing Federal Reserve data, CNBC reported that the steady decline in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) that commenced at the beginning of this year annihilated over $9 trillion in investors’ wealth and is expected to continue - already possibly reaching the mark of $10 trillion.
Quincy Krosby, chief equity strategist for LPL Financial, said, “Quite frankly, if it’s a deep recession you’re going to have to see more of a sell-off… this is what the market is trying to navigate now.”
Vice Chair Lael Brainard was the latest Fed official on Friday to insist it won’t pull back on rates, with plans to hold them at high levels for a while, posing a grave risk of going too far and causing a downturn.
The S&P 500 fell 54.85 points, or 1.5%, to close at 3,585.62 Friday, posting a weekly loss in six out of the last seven weeks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 500.10 points, or 1.7%, to 28,725.51, and the Nasdaq decreased 161.89 points, or 1.5%, to 10,575.62. The tech-heavy index sank 10.5% in September and is so far this year down 32.4%. Smaller firms such as The Russell 2000 ended September down 9.7%.
“At this point, it’s not a matter of if we’ll have a recession, but what type of recession it will be,” said a portfolio manager at Thornburg Investment Management, Sean Sun. Higher interest rates impact negatively the main factors that set prices for stocks, with other determiners being the slowing economy and those spilling from corporate profits.
Carnival, the cruise ship operator dropped 23.3% as the biggest decline among S&P 500 stocks, as rivals Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean Group slid 18% and 13.2%, respectively. Nike also went down 12.8%, its worst day in more than 20 years, after price slashes needed to clear suddenly overstuffed warehouses. Its global revenue rose only 4%, instead of the 10% it would have if currency values also maintained their rate. Looking at the third quarter, however, Netflix was among the best performers, going up 34.6% although it's still down 60.9% for the year.
According to a report on Friday, a measure of consumer sentiment showed expectations for future inflation decreasing in September which is critical for the Fed because expectations for higher inflation can produce a self-reinforcing cycle.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury rose to 3.81% from 3.79% late Thursday. The two-year yield, which more closely tracks expectations for Fed action, rose to 4.23% from 4.19%. The rise of the US dollar against other currencies continues to spread fear and stress of a potential crash in the global market.
Other stock markets around the world, such as the bond markets of the UK government, face tensions that could make inflation worse, but bond markets stabilized a little after the Bank of England vowed to buy the necessary government bonds needed to bring yields back down.

Question: My question today is about the Solar Flash. Is it coming? If yes, how long does it affect us?… instantly or days? What impact does it leave us?
Answer: Thank you for your question. This is a hot topic in the minds and subconscious minds of many Light workers. I appreciate the opportunity to talk about it.
Is the solar flash coming? Perhaps, it depends on which choices Earthlings make.
The flash will be near-instant, but it will take days before most Earthlings will have more or less stabilized from the flash.
It will be a flash of very high and intense energies. It will cause a wave of remembrance and it will shake loose a lot of illusions that people currently have. For most light workers it will be intense but also blissful and joyful. For most average people, it will feel like a train hits them out of nowhere. They’ll be completely destabilized and disrupted, but after a few days, they’ll enter the fourth dimension and will open-mindedly start looking around for what’s really going on. They will be confused, but they will not be as fearful as they are today. Hopefully light workers can help them find their footing in those days.
Earthlings who are too stuck in their ways might die from getting a huge amount of intense energy. This is a large part of the reason why it hasn’t happened yet. If it happened today, it would kill way too many people. Yes, on one hand souls are immortal and those souls can reincarnate elsewhere, but still we want to minimize deaths.
On the positive side, if the flash happens, then very shortly afterwards Earthlings will start working together on a much more positive world.
So, will the flash happen? Well, it depends on the choices that Earthlings make.
Gaia and Source want Earth to become a paradise-like world, and want Earthlings to be able to start living peaceful and blissful lives, without violating the free will of Earthlings. Us good-hearted extraterrestrials serve Source, and thus we work to accomplish what Source wants. I can promise you that in the medium term, Earthlings really will end up in a love-based society.
The solar flash is one tool that Source has to help Earth and Earthlings move into a love-based society. But it’s a tool that also has downsides, because it will kill people who are completely not ready for it.
Will that tool be used? If the level of consciousness of Earthlings rises very quickly, then it won’t be necessary and the solar flash tool won’t be used, which also means that those people won’t die. In this scenario, you will just move into an amazing love-based society on your own without the flash.
If the level of consciousness of Earthlings rises pretty quickly but not too quickly, then it’s reasonably likely that the solar flash tool will get used at a point when not too many people will die from it. I do not enjoy the thought of Earthlings dying from the solar flash, but on the other hand, I also do not enjoy the thought of Earthlings currently suffering from repression and living in pain.
Note that the solar flash is just one tool out of many that Source has to help Earthlings move into a love-based world. There are also many others. Frankly, there’s too many to list and some will have to stay secret for now because we do not want negative beings to know about them.
Often the channeler will ask me: “Is this going to happen and if so, when?” Usually I will respond with: ”it depends on the choices that Earthlings make.” This sometimes annoys him, but frankly, it really is up to you Earthlings how exactly the coming time is going to unfold.
In general, there are multiple different future timelines open, and multiple things may happen and it’s not clear when exactly what will happen. So beware of beings who give very specific predictions or who say that things absolutely will or will not happen. Usually it’s only really possible to state that certain things are likely or unlikely, or that certain things will happen at some point but it’s not clear when.
Although to be fair to channelers, both channelers and their audience usually just want to hear: “this thing will happen by that date.” So sometimes benevolent beings will say: “this will happen” when in reality something is likely but not certain to happen. This does not make those beings secretly malevolent. Still, it is good to realize that any prediction that you hear about the future is simply one probable timeline, not something that’s cast in stone.

Question: Hello, I have been wondering one thing for many years, after the event and once we are fully anchored in 5D on the new earth will our bodies ( the current heavy ones) be abandoned in some way? It doesn’t appeal to me that our bodies are to change so powerfully from their current state to the final effect after ascension from Carbon to Crystal or Diamond body as many say.
The way I feel about it is that this body will somehow be abandoned, die or be dematerialized and our entire consciousness will jump to the light body, which we are now rebuilding and which is non-physical. In conclusion, I think our body will only change to a certain extent so that all our Divine aspects will be anchored in one place, but in the end we will abandon the physical body for the final change and anchor fully on the 5D earth after the event. Is this correct? I am wondering about this because this current body is very limited, although I love and respect it, I am also grateful that I can experience through it now. Please answer as comprehensively as possible, for this moment.
Answer: As detailed in the previous answer: Earthlings will end up in a love-based 5D society. It’s quite possible that there will be the event of a solar flash that causes this, but there’s also a possibility that Earthlings will end up in a love-based 5D society without a flash. Regardless, you are headed towards a love-based 5D society.
For the sake of new people: 5D refers to a state of love-based consciousness. It does not refer to five spatial dimensions. There are a small number of people right now on your world who are in 5D. Normal people are in the consciousness of 3D. 4D is a transition phase between 3D and 5D. 4D is when you know that something is wrong on Earth and normal life seems not so appealing anymore, but you don’t yet know what is true or what to do with your life.
If there’s the event of a solar flash, then most Earthlings will be briefly in 4D and then quickly move up to the lower to middle part of 5D. Their bodies will be healthier and their hearts will be open. Friendly ETs will land shortly after and will freely offer healing and spiritual teachings to anyone who wants it.
In the lower to middle part of 5D, people will be healthier and more loving and suffer from less illusions, but they will still be physically there. Their bodies will not go anywhere. They will not be able to walk through a wall, for example.
Once Earthlings develop to the upper end of 5D, they will be able to voluntarily leave their body for a time, and they can use their light body to do so-called supernatural things. However they will still by default be in their body. You can think of a spiritually advanced Earthling in the present day: by default they’re in their bodies, but they can astral travel if they wish.
Earthlings have a slight misconception about light bodies. As you progress spiritually, then initially you will have an activated light body while still being in your physical body. It’s only when you continue progressing that eventually you leave your physical body behind, but initially you’ll have both a physical body and an activated light body. You won’t really notice your light body, other than feeling more peace and love and having more access to so-called supernatural abilities.
By the time beings are 7th dimension, it becomes a choice if they want to be physically incarnated or if they prefer to be immaterial. And when you move beyond 7D, being immaterial becomes the default state of being. Needless to say, it will be some time before typical Earthlings become 7D. That said, specific Light Workers might reach 7D relatively shortly after the event.
Personally I, Hakann, am 7th dimension. And frankly I prefer to be physically incarnated most of the time. Because this physical reality is where I can touch people, where I can dance, where I can eat delicious meals, where I can interact with my children and where I can make love to the woman I love.
I understand that Earthlings have a lot of negative experiences with physical bodies, but once your entire society becomes 5D, a lot of physical discomforts will be gone and a lot of physical pleasures will become available. I think that once everyone is in 5D and your galactic brothers and sisters have landed, you will very much appreciate that you are physically in a body.
That said, if you have the desire to experience immateriality, feel free to ask us after we have landed and we will be happy to teach you how you can achieve that.

A survey conducted by British research and data analytics firm YouGov reveals on Friday that half of the British population thinks that newly elected Prime Minister Liz Truss should resign. The results are attributed to some serious mistakes that Truss has committed since her assuming the position less than four weeks ago. Her recent announcement of a mini-budget to help alleviate surging costs of living also infuriated Britons due to its meager potential to redress the economy.
Since former PM Boris Johnson had left office following a slew of scandals, expectations were set too high for Truss who can barely deal with important issues like inflation and the high costs of living. As the package is expected to dramatically increase government borrowing, it also happens to lack a cost analysis forecast from the country's fiscal watchdog, the Office of Budget Responsibility. This, combined with the pound's recent sharp drop against the dollar, caused tremendous turmoil in the financial markets, with the pound dropping to its lowest ever level against the dollar.
With fears building up over the possibility of the UK pension fund collapsing, the Bank of England made a prompt intervention to stabilize the situation. Opposition politicians, independent analysts, and even some Tory lawmakers have assailed the plans as reckless and counter-productive.
Since unveiling the mini-budget, Truss remained quiet for a whole week until emerging Thursday to circulate on various platforms and regional television interviews in defense of her plan - an indeed disastrous attempt as she struggled to justify the viability of the package.
The 4,918 participants surveyed in the poll conducted on Friday reveal that only three percent think the mini-budget had the right ideas and only a quarter of them think she should remain in office, while more than half also thought Kwarteng should resign.
On another note, market research and consulting firm Ipsos found in their own survey that half of the people expect Labour leader Keir Starmer to become prime minister, up from 38 percent in May. The poll also revealed that 18 percent think Truss was performing well in her PM responsibilities.

On Friday, NATO condemned the recent incorporation of four former Ukrainian regions and warned Russia of "severe consequences" in the event of what he speculated to be its future usage of nuclear weapons against Kiev.
"This land grab is illegal and illegitimate. NATO allies do not and will not recognize any of this territory as part of Russia," NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the accession of the former Ukrainian territories liberated by the Russian, as well as the LPR and DPR forces, at a grand ceremony in the Kremlin, in a move completely rejected by the West and UN.
In response to Volodymyr Zelensky's announcement that an application for accelerated membership in the alliance was being proposed, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg acknowledged the bloc's "unchanged" stance on each country's right to choose its own path and on the "open door" policy, but he emphasized that NATO would focus its efforts on aiding Kiev in self-defense.
Stoltenberg stressed that NATO would continue supporting Kiev with an aim to "liberate" the Moscow-held regions as Ukraine pledges a retaliation.
As for Russia, it considers the incorporated territories now as a part of the country and would use its full arsenal to protect it.
Stoltenberg said the alliance had not seen any "changes in nuclear posture" of Russia after Putin's threats.
"We are vigilant, we are sharing information, and we have conveyed very clearly to Russia that there will be severe consequences if they use nuclear forces against Ukraine," Stoltenberg said.
NATO did not take part in the war in Ukraine as it feared unleashing a confrontation with Russia that could spiral into nuclear war. Instead, the NATO allies have sent billions of dollars worth of weapons to Kiev.
Following President Putin's declaration, Ukraine declared it was formally applying to join NATO.
NATO chief remained non-committal on the bid, saying, "Our focus now is on providing immediate support to Ukraine to help Ukraine defend itself against the Russian brutal invasion."
Despite Kiev's application, few prospects of Ukraine joining NATO in the foreseeable future appear while it is in conflict with its neighbor.
Membership in the alliance would mean Kiev was covered by NATO's Article 5 mutual defense clause which means an attack on one of the members is an attack on all.
Stoltenberg also touched on the Nord Stream leaks running from Russia to Europe, saying these are "attacks" and calling for an international probe to assess the damage caused to the pipelines.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mayor Cavalier Johnson has asked for help with the city’s privately funded get-out-the-vote campaign. The problem is Johnson did not ask a neutral party for help but rather a democrat operative…
Fortunately, the GOP is already wise to the potential interference and has filed a lawsuit. Executive director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, Mark Jefferson, issued a press release in which he stated,
“The Republican Party of Wisconsin is deeply concerned that cities like Milwaukee are working with Democrat operatives and partisan third party groups to get out the vote in a manner designed to tip the scales for Democrats,” he went on “Government’s role in elections must be to ensure fairness and transparency, not to benefit one party at the expense of another, and we will aggressively fight to ensure that election laws are followed.”
The concern is “Milwaukee Votes 2022,” is a door-to-door canvassing get-out-the-vote campaignusing private funds.
Wisconsin Rep. Janel Brandtjen’s requested public records from Johnson’s office, helping those concerned about election integrity get to the bottom of this situation.
According to the Federalist, Mayor Johnson and aide Jeff Fleming asked Sachin Chhedahow to respond to questions they were receiving about “Milwaukee Votes 2022”. The problem is Chheda is a left-wing operative and political consultant advising the mayor on how to get out the vote using private dollars. Chheda has an extensive history of working for Democratic political campaigns, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, and former Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle.
Records show Fleming texted Chheda on Sept. 12, “Getting multiple media requests on where the $$$ is coming from for canvassing and outreach. Do you have an answer?”
“Private donors and foundations,” Chheda responded, then added that Fleming could also direct reporters’ questions to Melissa Baldauff. Baldauff is also a Democratic Party activist as well as the former communications director for Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, and most significantly the spokeswoman for Milwaukee Votes 2022, per the records.
Then Chheda changed his mind, texting “Actually hold on. Can we just sit tight for an hour and then get back to folks?” this response was excluded from the requested records.
The release of the email and text exchange is causing appropriate problems for the Milwaukee Mayor, who is now finding himself in hot water.
Major Johnson was informed of where the money was originating. On Sept 2, Chheda texted Mayor Johnson and his chief of staff, Jim Bohl,
“Wanted to let you guys know we have been approved for a $1 million grant from The Center for Secure and Modern Elections. The money is coming to the High Ground Institute to support the nonpartisan Milwaukee Votes 2022 Canvass as we discussed. We should set up a meeting next week to give you guys the full update.”
Wisconsin Assembly Campaign Finance and Elections Commission Chair Rep. Brandtjen worries “Milwaukee Votes 2022” is a continuation of Zuckbucks. She expressed concern to the election group Empower Wisconsin that there is no way to oversee the “nonpartisan” nonprofit groups funding the effort. Her office has filed more open records requests revealing communications between the city and the Center for Secure and Modern Elections.

Nicaragua bans US envoy, cuts diplomatic ties with the Netherlands
President Daniel Ortega banned US envoy Hugo Rodrigues on Friday from entering Nicaragua on account of his "interfering" behavior. Although Nicaragua already stated that any such visit would be barred in July, the US Senate still confirmed Rodriguez's appointment on Thursday.
"The government of Nicaragua, in use of its powers and in exercise of its national sovereignty, immediately withdraws the approval granted to the candidate Hugo Rodriguez," the Nicaraguan Foreign Ministry said in a statement in July, following Hugo Rodriguez's nomination by US President Joe Biden in May as the next US Ambassador in Nicaragua, succeeding Kevin Sullivan.
According to Vice President Rosario Murillo, who is also Ortega's wife, Rodriguez would "will not under any circumstances be admitted into our Nicaragua," adding, "Let that be clear to the imperialists," as she read a statement from the foreign office.
Nicaragua said it decided to withdraw its approval of Rodriguez because of "disrespectful" comments he made in a hearing before the Senate, whereby Rodriguez labeled the Central American country as a "pariah state in the region" and branded Ortega's government a "dictatorship".
"I would support using all economic and diplomatic tools to bring about a change in direction in Nicaragua," he told the Senate, suggesting removing Nicaragua from the Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement (DR-CAFTA).
Later in the day, Ortega took into consideration severing ties with the Netherlands after accusing them of harboring "interventionist" policies and after finding out from his Foreign Minister Denis Moncada that a long-promised hospital will no longer be funded.
Taking a jab at the Dutch ambassador for Central America, Christine Pirenne, he said: "Those who come to disrespect our people, our homeland, they should not appear again in Nicaragua. And we do not want relations with that interventionist government", adding: "The ambassador came to speak to Nicaraguans as if Nicaragua is a Dutch colony".
Although the severance of ties is not formal, The Netherlands closed its offices in Managua in 2013 and currently holds all its Central American diplomatic work from Costa Rica. According to local media and diplomatic sources, European Union ambassador Bettina Muscheidt was requested to leave Nicaragua by the government on Wednesday without any given reason.
Also on Wednesday, Ortega branded the Catholic Church a "perfect dictatorship," reflecting ongoing tensions between his government and the religious institution over 2018 protests that Ortega has accused the church of backing.
Just last Saturday, Nicaragua withdrew the signal of the news channel CNN en Español in the country, with VP Murillo explaining that the country's authorities found the content broadcasted by CNN en Español to be incompatible with the national sovereignty guaranteed by the constitution.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported on the tragic story of Talonya Adams, a former Democratic Staffer in the Arizona Senate, who Katie Hobbs fired for simply being a black woman. Adams later called on Katie Hobbs to resign from office and drop out of the race for Governor, saying, “She has no place in government,” but Katie Hobbs doesn’t care.
Katie Hobbs didn’t even apologize. We reported on her half-assed virtue signal that came six years and two jury verdicts later and fell short of a genuine apology.
“You know what she said in cross-examination? She said that she had never hired a black person. Yeah. Somebody else had hired this woman, but she had never hired a black person.
