Make It Stop: Scientists Find Putting Pantyhose on Your Head Creates a Better Seal, Makes Masks Safer

A ‘peer-reviewed’ study from researchers at the University of Cambridge tested different mask ‘hacks’ to find the best way to create a good seal around the face.

The researchers taped the edges of the mask to the face, filled the sides of the mask with gauze, used a ‘mummy method’ with gauze, put a knot in the ear loops, used rubber bands around the front and wrapped pantyhose around the head.

Their findings were released in PLoS One this week and the pantyhose hack won.

“The pantyhose caused high levels of discomfort as well as issues speaking and occasional obstruction of the eyes,” the researchers wrote.

A better seal around the edges of the masks means more protection from COVID-19, but most consumer-level surgical masks and KN95s leave gaps around the sides. The researchers tested seven different hacks that attempt to close the gaps, on surgical and KN95 masks:

Taping the edges of a mask to one’s face

Filling the sides of a mask with gauze

Binding the mask to the face with gauze (the “mummy” method)

Putting a knot in the ear loops

Rubber bands around the front to create a “brace” against the mouth

A slice of pantyhose wrapped around the face

All of these were better than nothing when tested by measuring concentrations of particles inside and around the mask. But the one that created the best seal was the pantyhose: they cut a section out of the thigh of some hose and yanked that over the wearer’s head and mask (except for one participant, who couldn’t get the hosiery over his head). The pressure of the stretchy fabric kept the mask on tight, but there was a catch: people really hated wearing it.

Family Owned Towing Company Releases Statement Refusing to Assist Canadian Police in Impounding the Peaceful Freedom Convoy

Inter-Pacific Transport Ltd, Calgary’s only family-owned, 24/7, full-service, transportation, crane, and container service company, released a statement on Wednesday rejecting the requests from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to assist in the removal of trucks.

The company received a call from Alberta’s RCMP and other agencies requesting towing services at the US-Canada border but they turned down the request.

“We at Inter-Pacific Transportation (Group of companies) agree with peaceful protesting and stand with our lawful friends throughout the industry who are fighting for their Canadian Rights & Freedom throughout Alberta and the rest of Canada,” Jonathan Francis, CEO, wrote in the news release.

On February 1st 2022, we received a call from the Alberta R.C.M.P and other agencies requesting our assistance in providing towing services at the Alberta-United States Coutts Border crossing protest.

As many Canadians are aware this is a very uneasy situation for any business within the trucking and transportation industry. Boris Johnson’s absurd trip to Ukraine was pathetically obvious in its intent. Thatcher invaded the Falkland Islands. Clinton and Bush both arranged politically convenient military manoeuvres. Politicians always start a small war, or talk about one, if they are trying to escape from bad news at home. Putin constantly talks of war.

The purpose of Johnson’s trip was, of course, to try to distract attention the fact that the whole of Britain knows that even by the standards of politicians he is a pretty low individual. A decent leader would have resigned in shame by now.

His advisors, and the men in expensive suits who make the big decisions, know that in the long term the pointless trip to the Ukraine won’t work – but it’ll do as a short term distraction.

Nothing can cover up Johnson’s appalling behaviour, arrogance and contempt for the voters.

The short term aim is to keep Johnson in Number Ten for a little longer – so that all the really bad news (tax rises and so on) can be out in the open before the next election.

If the Tories find a new leader now then he or she will be damaged goods by the time the voters go to the polls again.

It’s much better to use Johnson as a dirt magnet. And to replace him with someone clean and fresh to charm the electorate with false promises so that the Tories can beat off the feeble competition from Labour – possibly the most utterly pointless opposition party in history.

But in the medium to long term, the men in expensive suits who are running this war don’t want popular governments.

Look at what is happening around the world.

Prime Ministers and Presidents everywhere are hated.

It’s pretty well impossible to think of a political leader anywhere in the world who would win a local popularity contest.

And that is the plan.

The billionaires controlling our present and future are deliberately doing everything they can to ensure that political leaders everywhere are hated. The aim is to ensure that national politicians everywhere are loathed.

And then the people of the world will jump at the chance of a World Government run by fresh, friendly faces – bringing promises of peace, harmony and prosperity.

And the people will be so pleased to see the back of Johnson, Biden, Macron, Trudeau, Arden, Morrison, etc., that won’t really notice that they have become slaves within the New World Order.

HAMILTON, Ontario (Campaign Life Coalition) – In a big win for pro-life free speech, a judicial panel in Ontario unanimously ruled on Wednesday that the city of Guelph’s decision to pull pro-life ads from buses without weighing free speech rights was “unreasonable.”

“This is a tremendous win for the pro-life movement in Canada,” Jakki Jeffs, executive director of Alliance for Life Ontario, told Campaign Life Coalition.

In 2020, the city of Guelph removed three pro-life bus advertisements created and paid for by Guelph and Area Right to Life, an affiliate of Alliance for Life Ontario.

The ads depicted images of pregnant women or pre-born babies, with slogans such as “Life Should Be the Most Fundamental Human Right – Say No to Abortion,” “Human rights should not depend on where you are. Say no to abortion,” and “What about her choice? Say No to Abortion.” The pro-life group has been putting pro-life ads on Guelph buses for about 20 years.

The city decided to remove the pro-life ads after consulting with Advertising Standards Canada, a private regulatory body, and hearing that the ads violated Ad Standards’ own opinions about free speech. It was Ad Standards’ opinion that the ads were “misleading,” “inaccurate,” or “demeaning to women.”

The city found Ad Standards’ private opinion “persuasive” and removed the pro-life ads from the buses.

The court ruled, however, that that city’s reliance on Ad Standards opinion was “unreasonable” because the city “improperly” relied on Ad Standards’ rulings without giving any consideration to the pro-life group’s “right to freedom of expression.”

Police in Ottawa have stated that they have intelligence that the number of protestors joining the Freedom Convoy to protest vaccine mandates and Wuhan coronavirus restrictions will increase this weekend.

Trish Ferguson, acting deputy chief for the police force, stated that hundreds of trucks were in Ottawa and while the crowds have declined since last weekend, police intelligence suggests that more people will join the protests this coming weekend.

The intelligence report was echoed by a search of local hotel availability in downtown Ottawa for the weekend, which as of Thursday showed most downtown hotels completely sold out on the booking website Expedia.

The Freedom Convoy protest has gone on for nearly a week and local government officials have expressed their displeasure with the continued actions of the protestors, which has included truckers and others constantly honking their horns in downtown Ottawa.

Alberta will announce a date to end its COVID-19 vaccine passport early next week, while Ontario says it will reassess its vaccine mandates in “the coming weeks and months.”

Speaking during a Facebook Live Q&A on Feb. 3, Alberta Premier Jason Kenny said his government intends to announce a “firm” date next week to end the province’s vaccine passport, with the actual cancellation date coming soon after.

“As COVID changes, our response to it must change as well,” Kenney told Albertans.

“That is why early next week, Alberta will announce a firm date to end the REP [Restrictions Exemption Program] and to do so in the very near future.”

Introduced last September, the REP is Alberta’s version of a vaccine passport that mandates anyone using non-essential services such as bars and restaurants to show proof of vaccination.

Kenny said that in the coming week the province will also announce a phased plan to drop almost all COVID-19 restrictions by the end of the month, provided the pressure on the hospitals continues to decline.

He reasoned that Alberta’s high vaccination rate coupled with stabilizing hospital patient numbers make the rationale for continuing the REP “not as strong today” as when it was first introduced last September.

“About 40 percent of patients with COVID in our hospitals are not actually there for COVID. They have incidental infections and so that is important context as well,” the premier said. Continue…

Canadian Parliamentary Committee Wants GoFundMe to Testify on Trucker Convoy Funds

A House of Commons committee wants to hear from the fundraiser platform GoFundMe about the millions of dollars collected so far by the organizers of the “Freedom Convoy,” as trucks continue blocking streets in downtown Ottawa.

On Feb. 3, the Committee on Public Safety and National Security voted unanimously on a motion put forward by NDP MP Alistair McGregor to have GoFundMe testify “as soon as possible” to learn about the source of the funds and what safeguards are in place to ensure the money isn’t used to “promote extremism.”

The GoFundMe campaign, which has amassed over $10 million so far, was paused by the platform on Feb. 2 to ensure it complies with its terms of service and applicable laws and regulations.

GoFundMe has come under pressure to cut funds to the organizers, notably from Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson, who wants some of the money to be used to cover the cost of policing for the protest.

“GoFundMe, because they were bombarded with an orchestrated social media and other campaigns to try and shut it down or take it, has exercised heightened due diligence, which we welcome,” said Keith Wilson, a lawyer representing the organizers, during a press conference on Feb. 3.

Wilson said his clients have taken all the necessary steps to satisfy GoFundMe’s requirements.

The organizers’ GoFundMe page says the funds are to be used to support truckers participating in the protest with fuel, food, and shelter, and “Any left over donations will be donated to a credible Veterans organization which will be chosen by the donors.”

With the circulation on social media of a picture of someone holding a Nazi flag and of at least two others displaying Confederate flags in the vicinity of the protest on Jan. 29, many politicians and news outlets have attempted to portray the entire movement as racist and bigoted.

“As a woman with Métis heritage, a mother, and a grandmother, I am offended,” said lead organizer Tamara Lich on Feb. 3.

“The reality is that members of this freedom movement are average peace-loving and law-abiding citizens from all walks of life, who are fed up with being disrespected and bullied by our government.”

The Epoch Times reached out to GoFundMe to find out if they will testify before the House committee, but didn’t hear back before publication.

The convoy organizers said on Feb. 3 they are determined to stay until pandemic restrictions are lifted. They also said they have yet to hear directly from any government, whether federal, provincial, or municipal.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has criticized the protesters and not demonstrated a willingness to negotiate, but has said involving the military was “not in the cards right now.”

Participants are refusing to leave until the authoritarian restrictions are lifted completely, and with both sides not budging, the Canadian government is turning to drastic measures in an attempt to crush the grassroots uprising.

On Friday, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) announced they are pairing with several federal intelligence agencies and other law enforcement divisions to launch “enhanced intelligence operations and investigations” that will target individuals who are participating in the Canadian Truckers For Freedom Convoy.

FDA Restores Document on Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine Approval After Pressure From Epoch Times, Lawmakers

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has restored a document outlining why it approved Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine, days after the regulatory agency pulled the 30-page file offline after receiving questions about it from The Epoch Times.

No explanation has been given for why the document vanished hours after the questions were sent, but the removal triggered pushback from the National Vaccine Information Center and multiple members of Congress.

“The coincidental removal of the approval documents for the Moderna vaccine is another massive blow to the credibility of the FDA, and I call on the agency to release this document immediately,” Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), a member of the House Oversight Committee, told The Epoch Times via email on Feb. 4.

The document in question is called the Summary Basis for Regulatory Action (SBRA) and was made public on Feb. 1, one day after the FDA approved Moderna’s jab without consulting its expert advisory panel.

After The Epoch Times sent questions about critical portions of the document, it disappeared from the agency’s website.

It popped back up after multiple emails and phone calls from The Epoch Times.

Spokespersons have declined to explain what happened.

The document, embedded below, includes the highest government estimate yet for post-vaccination heart inflammation cases. An FDA meta-analysis of data from four health care claims databases estimated that, among males aged 18 to 25, the rate of myocarditis following Moderna’s primary series was 148 per million males vaccinated. Myocarditis is a form of heart inflammation that can lead to death, though most cases do not.

The FDA has declined so far to provide a copy of the meta-analysis or a copy of another document referred to in the SBRA, a quantitative, age-stratified benefit-risk analysis in males 18 and older to evaluate the benefits and risks of Moderna’s vaccine.

How entirely fascinating this is. Surprisingly, an article on this situation has appeared within mainstream Canadian media.

A recent National Post article states that Kemper is wanting “to overturn a power structure in which his brother sits at the apex.“ That’s some pretty heavy attitude for a man one step away from immediate family.

The article, dated December 9th, 2020, further states that “Kemper has not shied away from views that Trudeau would disown.”
