Narco tunnel linked to El Chapo found across from Mexican National Guard base

It was right under their noses.

Mexican authorities discovered a 650-foot tunnel built by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman in Tijuana — across the street from a National Guard base, Mexico News Daily reported.

The tunnel, equipped with ventilation, lighting, and carts and rails, was discovered after a package of marijuana was left outside the house where the tunnel was hidden.

Authorities believe it was intended to connect to a Tijuana-to-San Diego underpass unearthed in 2019, as part of a network built by the now-jailed Guzman.

The US Drug Enforcement Administration estimates that there are more than 13,000 narco tunnels in Mexico, most of them in territory controlled by the Sinaloa Cartel.

Some of those tunnels can span nearly 1,500 feet, Mexico News Daily said.

Guzman, once the most notorious of Mexico’s drug kingpins, was extradited to the US, convicted and sent to a supermax prison in Colorado in 2019.

Another 'Mystery Explosion' Has Hit An Oil Tanker Off Syria's Coast

An oil tanker off Syria's Mediterranean port of Banias has been hit with an explosion Sunday, resulting in a fire on board which was reportedly extinguished soon after.

There were reportedly no casualties, but subsequent photographs showed large plumes of black smoke rising above the tanker, which may have been engaged in offloading its cargo. The 'mystery' blast comes after a series of alleged Israeli covert attacks against both Iranian and Syrian ships believed engaged in "sanctions-busting" activity related to Washington-led anti-Assad measures.

However, Syrian state media was quick to call it a "technical fault" which "took place in one of the engines of the oil tanker near the coast," according to the description.

Journalist and Syria analyst Danny Makki quipped in the wake of the incident, "This comes amid a sharp and unexpected rise in engine malfunctions in ships near the Syrian coast" - strongly suggesting that it appears anything but a mere engine accident.

Reuters reviews some of the latest incidents involving oil tankers off Syria's coast as follows:

Local radio station FM Sham earlier said an explosion had hit a tanker during maintenance works after it had caught fire a few days earlier while offloading its oil cargo.

Last month, Syria’s oil ministry said firefighters put out a fire on an oil tanker off the Banias refinery after a suspected attack by a drone coming from the direction of Lebanese waters.

This comes after a separate mystery incident being simultaneously reported at a distillation unit at Homs Oil Refinery, though there's little that's been verified at this point.

Church of England Begins BLM-Style Review of Thousands of Monuments for References to Slave Trade

The Anglican Church will embark upon a review of thousands of historical monuments which reference the British Empire or the slave trade, as the Church continues with its Black Lives Matter-inspired agenda.

The Church of England, which campaigned for the abolition of slavery since the early 1800s, is set to issue guidance this week to its 12,500 parishes and 42 cathedrals, calling for a review of supposedly problematic monuments.

Monuments or plaques with so-called contested heritage could be contextualised, altered, relocated, or even removed. Some could be left untouched, but the author of the review said that local church leaders would not be able to ignore the programme.

Speaking to the left-wing Observer, the author of the guidance and director of the Church of England’s churches and cathedrals, Becky Clark, said: “Our church buildings and cathedrals are the most visible part of the C of E, a Christian presence in every community. The responsibility to ensure they include, welcome and provide safe spaces for all is a vitally important part of addressing the way historic racism and slavery still impacts people today.”

Clark argued that the guidance, which will be left up to local parishes to interpret as to whether the artefacts warrant removal or merely to be contextualised, seeks to “empower rather than shut down conversation”.

“It doesn’t make political statements, except to say the history of racism and slavery is undeniable, as is the fact that racism and the legacy of slavery are still part of many people’s lives today. Responding to those in the right way is a Christian duty. Doing nothing is not an option. There has to be engagement with this,” she said.

“The job of local parishes is to figure out how this impacts our communities today. Are there people who feel this church is not for them because of the built heritage, and what can we do about it?” she said.

Clark did admit that alongside monuments which “celebrate or valorise those involved in the slave trade”, others were also constructed as “simple memorials to somebody who was loved by their family”.

One Mosque Built, One Christian Monument Destroyed Every Two Weeks in Modern France.

A French expert on France’s religious heritage is sounding the alarm that “one mosque is erected every 15 days in France, while one Christian building [church or monument] is destroyed at the same pace.”

Edouard de Lamaze, the president of the Observatoire du patrimoine religieux (Observatory of Religious Heritage) in Paris, is warning French media about “the gradual disappearance of religious edifices in a country” which has long been called the “eldest daughter of the Church.”

His warning followed on an April 15 fire (“deemed accidental”) which destroyed the 16th-century Church of Saint-Pierre in Romilly-la-Puthenaye, Normandy, northern France, exactly two years after the fire that ruined much of Paris’ famous Notre Dame Cathedral.

Most of the monuments being destroyed are Catholic. There are around 45,000 Catholic “places of worship” in France, where Catholicism still represents “a large majority.” Lamaze explained his concern in an interview with Catholic News Agency:

“Lamaze told CNA in an interview that in addition to one religious building disappearing every two weeks — by demolition, transformation, destruction by fire, or collapse — two-thirds of fires in religious buildings are due to arson. . .

‘Although Catholic monuments are still ahead, one mosque is erected every 15 days in France, while one Christian building is destroyed at the same pace,’ Lamaze said. ‘It creates a tipping point on the territory that should be taken into account.’

Lamaze believes that on average more than two Christian monuments are targeted every day. Two-thirds of these incidents concern theft, while the remaining third involve desecration.”

Recent figures from the French central criminal intelligence unit states the number of attacks on Catholic “places of worship” in 2018 alone was 877.

“‘These figures have increased fivefold in only 10 years,’ Lamaze said, noting that 129 churches were vandalized in 2008… Currently, 5,000 Catholic buildings are potentially in danger of disappearing.”

Lamaze cited the “deep negligence” of public authorities as responsible for this state of affairs, noting that only 15,000 Catholic sites “are officially protected as historical monuments,” with 30,000 Catholic sites “practically left to decay.”

Indication Ivermectin Drastically Reduces Deaths Keeps Trickling in From the Third World. Too Bad It’s a Cheap Generic

Back in January I wrote an article about four randomized controlled trials of ivermectin as a treatment for covid-19 that had at that time released their results to the public. Each of those four trials had promising results, but each was also too small individually to show any meaningful impact on the hard outcomes we really care about, like death. When I meta-analyzed them together however, the results suddenly appeared very impressive. Here’s what that meta-analysis looked like:

It showed a massive 78% reduction in mortality in patients treated with covid-19. Mortality is the hardest of hard end points, which means it’s the hardest for researchers to manipulate and therefore the least open to bias. Either someone’s dead, or they’re alive. End of story.

You would have thought that this strong overall signal of benefit in the midst of a pandemic would have mobilized the powers that be to arrange multiple large randomized trials to confirm these results as quickly as possible, and that the major medical journals would be falling over each other to be the first to publish these studies.

That hasn’t happened.

Rather the opposite, in fact. South Africa has even gone so far as to ban doctors from using ivermectin on covid-19 patients. And as far as I can tell, most of the discussion about ivermectin in mainstream media (and in the medical press) has centred not around its relative merits, but more around how its proponents are clearly deluded tin foil hat wearing crazies who are using social media to manipulate the masses.

In spite of this, trial results have continued to appear. That means we should now be able to conclude with even greater certainty whether or not ivermectin is effective against covid-19. Since there are so many of these trials popping up now, I’ve decided to limit the discussion here only to the ones I’ve been able to find that had at least 150 participants, and that compared ivermectin to placebo (although I’ll add even the smaller trials I’ve found in to the updated meta-analysis at the end).

As before, it appears that rich western countries have very little interest in studying ivermectin as a treatment for covid. The three new trials that had at least 150 participants and compared ivermectin with placebo were conducted in Colombia, Iran, and Argentina. We’ll go through each in turn.

The Colombian trial (Lopez-Medina et al.) was published in JAMA (the Journal of the American Medical Association) in March. There is one thing that is rather odd with this study, and that is that the study authors were receiving payments from Sanofi-Pasteur, Glaxo-Smith-Kline, Janssen, Merck, and Gilead while conducting the study. Gilead makes remdesivir. Merck is developing two expensive new drugs to treat covid-19. Janssen, Glaxo-Smith-Kline, and Sanofi-Pasteur are all developers of covid vaccines. In other words, the authors of the study were receiving funding from companies that own drugs that are direct competitors to ivermectin. One might call this a conflict of interest, and wonder whether the goal of the study was to show a lack of benefit. It’s definitely a little bit suspicious.

Attorney Matthew DePerno filed his latest finding in the Circuit Court for Antrim County on Friday.

According to DePerno, there were 1,061 “phantom” ballots found in Antrim County during the 2020 election.

Attorney DePerno also contends there was nearly 100% turnout between ages 65 and 80 in the county despite the threat of the coronavirus.

DePerno says 1,061 ballots are not in the state database and do not exist on voter rolls, meaning they are likely phantom ballots.

From page 10 in the report:

DePerno explains that in the December hand recount of Antrim county, there was a total of 15,952 ballots counted; however, Secretary of State Benson’s official database only had 14,901 ballots which means there exists 1,061 extra ballots not on the voter rolls, i.e., “phantom” ballots.

Phantom ballots could explain what happened at the hand recount in December when volunteers were told to count approximately 138 ballots with the very same signature. Despite their repeated objections and attempts to challenge the problem ballots, the Secretary of State official said, “That’s not your role at this very moment” and pushed the volunteers to count the ballots and finish the audit.

Based upon these findings, DePerno is not only demanding a complete audit, but due to false statements by officials who attributed the fraud to human error, DePerno is also amending William Bailey’s complaint to sue Sheryl Guy, Election Source, Jocelyn Benson and Jonathan Brater.

He states:

“Elected officials are charged with following the law, not hiding information and lying to their constituents in order to defraud and marginalize their right to vote.”

Lockdowns and hygienic measures around the world are based on numbers of cases and mortality rates created by the so-called SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR tests used to identify “positive” patients, whereby “positive” is usually equated with “infected.”

But looking closely at the facts, the conclusion is that these PCR tests are meaningless as a diagnostic tool to determine an alleged infection by a supposedly new virus called SARS-CoV-2.

Unfounded “Test, test, test,…” mantra

At the media briefing on COVID-19 on March 16, 2020, the WHO Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said:

We have a simple message for all countries: test, test, test.”

The message was spread through headlines around the world, for instance by Reuters and the BBC.

Still on the 3 of May, the moderator of the heute journal — one of the most important news magazines on German television— was passing the mantra of the corona dogma on to his audience with the admonishing words:

Test, test, test—that is the credo at the moment, and it is the only way to really understand how much the coronavirus is spreading.”

This indicates that the belief in the validity of the PCR tests is so strong that it equals a religion that tolerates virtually no contradiction.

But it is well known that religions are about faith and not about scientific facts. And as Walter Lippmann, the two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and perhaps the most influential journalist of the 20th century said: “Where all think alike, no one thinks very much.”

So to start, it is very remarkable that Kary Mullis himself, the inventor of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology, did not think alike. His invention got him the Nobel prize in chemistry in 1993.

Unfortunately, Mullis passed away last year at the age of 74, but there is no doubt that the biochemist regarded the PCR as inappropriate to detect a viral infection.

The reason is that the intended use of the PCR was, and still is, to apply it as a manufacturing technique, being able to replicate DNA sequences millions and billions of times, and not as a diagnostic tool to detect viruses.

How declaring virus pandemics based on PCR tests can end in disaster was described by Gina Kolata in her 2007 New York Times article Faith in Quick Test Leads to Epidemic That Wasn’t.

Lack of a valid gold standard

Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the PCR tests used to identify so-called COVID-19 patients presumably infected by what is called SARS-CoV-2 do not have a valid gold standard to compare them with.

This is a fundamental point. Tests need to be evaluated to determine their preciseness — strictly speaking their “sensitivity”[1] and “specificity” — by comparison with a “gold standard,” meaning the most accurate method available.

As an example, for a pregnancy test the gold standard would be the pregnancy itself. But as Australian infectious diseases specialist Sanjaya Senanayake, for example, stated in an ABC TV interview in an answer to the question “How accurate is the [COVID-19] testing?”:

Minnesota school district adopts Black Lives Matter slogan as privileged 'government speech'

Unclear if approved resolution simply limits what messages can be posted in school buildings.

Many schools promote racial justice slogans such as Black Lives Matter. But one district in Minnesota has gone a step further, adopting several slogans as uniquely privileged "official government speech" tacitly exempt from challenge by dissenting opinion ordinarily protected under the First Amendment.

Rochester Public Schools board members unanimously approved a sweeping resolution that authorizes the superintendent to promote the slogans Black Lives Matter, Brown Lives Matter, Indigenous Lives Matter, All Are Welcome Here, and Stop Asian Hate.

The official is directed to take all actions "that further the objectives" of the resolution, including by approving "messaging, signage, and visuals" for the slogans. The district also adopted the six-color "pride flag" as government speech to support "a message of inclusion" within schools.

According to KAAL TV, the resolution was a legal defense move. A day before the board meeting, Superintendent Michael Muñoz told staff to ignore "misinformation circulating on social media" that top officials had ordered the removal of "BLM messaging" in classrooms.

The claim came out of a leadership meeting on “speech, First Amendment rights, and how we can support our students and staff,” wrote Muñoz, who previously agreed to resign at the end of the school year following a plagiarism scandal.

Someone asked a question about "BLM material," but the answer did not include "a directive to remove posters/flags or disallow wearing BLM apparel," Muñoz said, adding that the board would take up the issue the next day. He issued the same message to families in the district.

The resolution could be read to let the district shut down disagreement with the slogans by students, teachers and staff, and censor lesson plans that teach students about debate on racial justice issues. It makes no mention of the First Amendment rights of employees and students.

It has one qualification: The resolution is not intended as an "endorsement" of any policies supported by "organizations using the same or similar messaging." That likely alludes to the Black Lives Matter organization, whose founders are self-described Marxists and whose principles originally included "disrupt[ing] the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure."

A law professor told Just the News the resolution might simply apply to the walls of schools, so that the district can exclude "rival views" to the government-approved slogans on its own property.

"This is actually pretty normal" except in the sense that a school board "made express" its view of government speech, UCLA's Eugene Volokh, a First Amendment expert, wrote in an email.

Major Fire Broke Out At Syria’s Oil Refinery: Israel & Militants Suspected

On May 9, a fire broke out at Homs oil refinery in central Syria as a result of what was described as an “accident” by local officials.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, the fire broke out at the refinery’s Distillation Unit 100. Refinery workers and local firefighters were able to contain and put down the fire within a short period of time.

“Firefighting teams, with great efforts, managed to control the fire,” Suleiman al-Mohamad, General Director of Homs refinery, told the state-run news agency.

According to al-Mohamad, two firemen suffered from suffocation while extinguishing the fairly large fire. Both men are now recovering.

The Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Reserves, Bassam Toumah, claimed in a statement that the fire was a result of a leak in crude oil pipes in Distillation Unit 100. The minister noted that the fire didn’t place the refinery out of service.

The Homs refinery is Syria’s main crude oil processing facility. The refinery was targeted on a number of occasions in the last ten years.

In December of 2019, Homs refinery was one of three Syrian oil and gas facilities which were struck by armed drones. Militants based in the northwestern region of Greater Idlib were reportedly behind the attack.

While the new fire may be also the result of an attack or a sabotage act by Syrian militants, it is also possible that the Israeli intelligence was involved. Syria received large shipments of crude oil from Iran in the last few weeks.
