The CDC responded:

CDC is not aware of any randomized control trials that show that masks or double masks or cloth face covering are effective against COVID-19. There is experimental data as desribed below showing masks block particles.

The CDC then listed links to their website and others explaining the “experimental data.”

In response to her first question the CDC wrote, “the agency has not received additional information requested from you in our letter dated March 2, 2021.

Other states (including blue states are starting to move on), New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy recently announced that in mid-May he is removing most coronavirus restrictions. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis just eliminated all state mandated restrictions but is allowing counties to impose their if they are experience more than 100 COVID cases per 100,000 people. Ignoring his own Governor, New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio announced he is fully reopening the city on July 1st.

BC’s 2019 carbon emissions increase despite implementing a carbon tax

The province that has been touted by the federal Liberals as a role model and inspiration for Canada’s carbon tax has once again reported that its greenhouse gas emissions have gone up.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, federal data from 2019 shows that emissions remained 20.5% higher than it was six years prior in British Columbia despite the province having a carbon tax since 2008.

Earlier this year, the province’s government upped its own carbon tax to $45 per tonne.

Currently, Canada’s federal levy is slightly lower than BC’s at $40 a tonne but the Trudeau government has promised to raise the cap to $170 a tonne by 2030.

In 2018, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pointed to BC’s carbon tax as a success story in reducing emissions.

“I know the Conservatives’ approach is to not let the facts get in the way of a good political argument, but allow me to remind the member opposite that British Columbia has had a price on carbon pollution for almost ten years and it has led, quite frankly, to growth in the economy while they have shown leadership on the environment. That is exactly what we know will work right across the country,” said Trudeau.

During a climate summit last month, Trudeau was pressured by US President Joe Biden to increase Canada’s emission targets.

Following the event, the prime minister promised that Canada would reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by up to 45% in under ten years up from its prior goal of 36% by 2030.

Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole reversed course earlier this year and announced his own version of the carbon tax, which he says will begin at $20 per tonne and eventually increase to $50 per tonne.

Under O’Toole’s carbon pricing regime, the levy will go directly into a “Personal Low Carbon Savings Account” which will be accessible by taxpayers for environmental purchases approved by the federal government.

O’Toole’s decision to introduce a carbon tax has been met with some resistance within his caucus after sources within the party expressed frustration with the choice.

The family of a Michigan woman says she died as the result of complications 11 days after receiving the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID vaccine.

Anne VanGeest, 35, died April 19 at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s hospital in Grand Rapids from an acute subarachnoid brain hemorrhage, FOX 17 reported.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the news of Anne’s passing Anne (Annie), who was 35, was a loving mother, wife, sister and daughter,” the family said in a statement provided by Lambert, a Grand Rapids public relations firm that is providing its services to the family pro bono.

VanGeest received the J&J shot on April 8, five days before the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) paused the vaccine to investigate reports of potentially dangerous blood clots in women who received the shot.

VanGeest’s family said her headache started on April 16 — eight days after being vaccinated. She died three days later. Her death certificate notes a natural death, specifically from an acute subarachnoid hemorrhage, or bleeding between the brain and tissue around the brain.

Symptoms of the rare blood clots typically develop six to 15 days after getting the shot.

“These initial symptoms are fairly vague and nonspecific,” said Dr. Tom Shimabukuro of the CDC COVID-19 Response. “(It’s) mainly headache, but importantly, the headaches for these started six or more days after vaccination.”

VanGeest’s physician filed a report to the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).

In an email to the VanGeest family, the CDC confirmed her death had been reported to VAERS, but said the system is not designed to determine whether a reported adverse event was caused by the vaccine.

“When VAERS receives reports of serious illness or death after vaccination, VAERS staff contact the hospital where the patient was treated to obtain the associated medical records to better understand the adverse event,” the CDC said.

According to the CDC website, “the CDC follows up on any report of death to request additional information and learn more about what occurred and to determine whether the death was a result of the vaccine or unrelated.”

The Defender has repeatedly reached out to the CDC since March 8 to determine how investigations into reported deaths are conducted, but have yet to receive a response.

May 5, 2021 (Children’s Health Defense) — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is preparing to authorize use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID vaccine in adolescents 12 to 15 years old by early next week, according to federal officials familiar with the agency’s plans. The vaccine is currently authorized in the U.S for emergency use in people 16 and older.

The decision, which is likely to be supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), would allow most middle and high school students to get vaccinated before summer camps and the start of the 2021-22 school year, USA TODAY reported.

The FDA will have to amend the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for Pfizer’s vaccine, but the process should be straightforward, said a federal official who was not authorized to speak about the process publicly and requested anonymity.

“While the FDA cannot predict how long its evaluation of the data and information will take, the agency will review the request as expeditiously as possible using its thorough and science-based approach,” the FDA said in an email to CNN last week.

The FDA is reviewing data submitted by Pfizer to support the expanded use of its experimental vaccine, including a clinical trial involving 2,260 12 to 15 year-olds. Results showed Pfizer’s vaccine was 100% effective at preventing moderate to severe COVID in an age group which, according to the CDC, experiences mostly asymptomatic infection.

Ontario medical regulator threatens to punish doctors for criticizing lockdowns

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) plans to investigate physicians who speak out against government lockdown measures, according to a statement issued Friday.

“The college is aware and concerned about the increase of misinformation circulating on social media and other platforms regarding physicians who are publicly contradicting public health orders and recommendations,” said CPSO’s statement.

“Physicians hold a unique position of trust with the public and have a professional responsibility to not communicate anti-vaccine, anti-masking, anti-distancing, and anti-lockdown statements and/or promoting unsupported, unproven treatments for COVID-19.”

Physicians are prohibited from encouraging people to defy public health measures, and it could lead to an investigation against them, the CPSO says.

Doctors who are subjected to an investigation will be given a chance to respond to the complaint. An investigator will submit a report to the Inquiries, Complaints, and Reports Committee. These investigations could lead to doctors facing disciplinary action.

The CPSO said when offering opinions, physicians are expected to be guided by the law, regulatory standards and the code of ethics and professional conduct. These opinions must not be misleading or deceptive, and they have to be supported by current evidence and science.

In Canada, a number of medical experts have publicly criticized lockdowns and various public health orders.

Ontario pediatrician Dr. Kulvinder Kaur Gill was issued three warnings by the CPSO after her tweets about the COVID-19 pandemic were found to be “inappropriate” and “unprofessional.” Gill tweeted comments such as “COVID-19 is not a serious health issue” and “There is absolutely no medical or scientific reason for prolonged, harmful, and illogical lockdowns.”

In addition, a study done by Dr. Ari Joffe, a pediatric infectious disease specialist at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, suggested the harms of lockdowns are ten times greater than their benefits. The harms that were cited in the study were delayed and interrupted health care, unemployment, loneliness, deteriorating mental health and increased drug overdoses.

Further, in September 2020, a group of Ontario doctors wrote a letter to Premier Doug Ford calling for him to use a localized approach instead of sweeping lockdown measures. These doctors said lockdowns have been shown not to eliminate COVID-19, because they work until measures are lifted.

Many Liberal staffers were unimpressed by an offer of a virtual yoga session with Sophie Grégoire Trudeau as a reward for a “very long and intense year.”

Earlier this week, hundreds of Liberal staffers received an email from the Liberal Research Bureau saying the party wanted to reward them with a free, one-hour yoga session hosted by the prime minister’s wife.

Liberal staffers were largely unmoved. Many anonymous Liberal staffers told Postmedia that they were not interested and thought the whole thing was a waste of time.

“Yeah, that’s going to be a hard pass for me,” said one staffer.

“I saw the email subject and deleted it immediately,” another staffer said.

“This is so silly,” a staffer said about the event.

The email stressed that the session was open to all staffers regardless of their yoga experience. The email also encouraged staffers to join by noting that it was Canadian Mental Health Week and they have all had a very stressful year working through the pandemic.

“We’ve all heard this before, but this last year has been an intense one!” said the email.

“One thing that has helped many of us cope with the stress of the pandemic is getting some fresh air and doing some YOGA! So, in this spirit, Madame Sophie Grégoire Trudeau (a.k.a. Sophie) would like to invite you to participate in a virtual yoga class.”

Grégoire Trudeau is a trained yoga instructor, having completed the hatha yoga and “Radiant Child” kundalini yoga teaching programs. Earlier in the year, she held free yoga sessions over Facebook.

Grégoire Trudeau has held yoga sessions in the past for Liberal staffers “as her way of thanking them.” It is unclear how well attended previous sessions were.

In an interview on the CBC show Power & Politics last Friday, Guilbeault claimed that his internet regulation Bill C-10, is about “ensuring that these platforms that act like broadcasters pay their fair share when it comes to Canadian culture….It's not about content moderation.”

When the CBC interviewer asked Guilbeault why an original exemption in the bill for user-generated content on social media sites such as YouTube and Facebook were removed, he bumbled and fumbled his answer.

“We're, we're, not interested. I mean, it's not, it's not what I mean, I….,” said Guilbeault.

The interviewer, not satisfied with his answer, interjected to challenge Guilbeault, “but there literally was an exclusion that was put in the original iteration of that bill, the thing that was reviewed and then it got to committee and bingo, bango, bongo, the exclusion is gone. So why was it important to put it there in the first place such that now the committee has removed it?”

To this question, Guilbeault answered, “the committee decides what they want in the bill.”

“First of all, the committee hasn't even finished doing it, doing its work in terms of, of the amendments. So, we don't have a full picture of what the bill will look like when it comes back, when it comes back to the to the to the House of Commons for, for third reading,” said Guilbeault.

Last year, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government introduced Guilbeault’s Bill C-10, which would regulate certain online media services through the creation of a new class of broadcaster called “online undertakings.” The new regulations would be done through amendments to Canada’s Broadcasting Act.

China’s Big Brother ‘Social Credit System’ Now Tracks People In North America Too With Video Surveillance

China is covertly conducting surveillance and even tracking people’s movements in North America using what’s called “a social credit system,” trying to advance its totalitarian authority all over the world even in free nations.

The Gatestone Institute, a non-partisan, not-for-profit international policy council, and think tank, reports seven years ago, China’s State Council issued guidelines for the establishment of a national “social credit system” by 2020, with the feeds from about 626 million surveillance cameras and smartphone scanners and with data from a multitude of sources.

The system was designed to keep tabs on every Chinese citizen’s behavior. For example, criticizing China’s communist ruler Xi Jinping would result in the lowering of one’s score, which could result in consequences for the individual.

People with low scores could be denied social services, mortgages and even could be banned from traveling on trains or airplanes. There are also “interconnecting repercussions for family, friends, associates, and businesses both in and outside China,” Ina Mitchell, an investigative journalist and co-author with Scott McGregor of the upcoming The Mosaic Effect, told Gatestone.

And this system has now been detected far from communist China’s shores, operating at a restaurant in Vancouver, Canada. The Haidilao Hot Pot has more than 60 cameras watching 30 tables with the video feeds going to China. The restaurant is part of a chain of 935 restaurants that are corporate-owned and began operations in China’s Sichuan province.

The Gatestone Institute points out besides a national security risk, the secretive transmission of video to China is a violation of British Columbian law under the province’s Personal Information Protection Act.

There are several of these systems in place, but the Chinese Communist Party’s central committee has apparently set 2025 as the target for a national system, according to The Diplomat. In the meantime, a lot of information is being collected, the website notes.

Why would Beijing be interested in the patrons of a Vancouver restaurant? Because the Chinese government sees the Canadian city as a gateway into North America, “where they engage in pervasive foreign interference activity, mobilizing overseas United Front units to strategically lure political and business leaders using financial inducements and other incentives to promote the Party’s agenda,” according to The Diplomat.

The restaurant is also located near the house of Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Huawei Technologies, who since 2019 has been fighting extradition to the U.S. on charges that she tried to circumvent U.S. sanctions against Iran. In 2020, Meng was indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice on charges of trade secrets theft which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years’ imprisonment, according to The Verge.

China also wants such a system to keep tabs on the rest of the world and has made the effort to do so. From 2012 to 2017, they secretly downloaded data from the computers housed in the Beijing-donated and Chinese-built headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia through Huawei servers, according to the BBC.

China’s Communist Party is creating the world’s first digital totalitarian state and so far, western democracies don’t seem to care, The Gatestone Institute noted.

Ontario: Hospitals may move patients to long-term care to prepare for ‘third wave’ of COVID

TORONTO, Ontario, May 5, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — The Ontario provincial government has given hospitals unprecedented powers to move patients out of wards and into retirement homes and other long-term care residences, without their permission, as part of plans to free up bed spaces in hospitals purely for COVID-19 patients.

An announcement was made on April 28 by Deputy Premier and Health Minister of Ontario Christine Elliot, wherein she declared a patient could be transferred to any nursing home based on a doctor’s determination of the needs of the patient and the need for bed space, regardless of the patient’s wishes or consent. The measure has been introduced on the basis of a predicted surge in COVID “cases” brought about by an apparent third wave of the virus.

The amendment to the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act permits hospitals to override a patient’s choice of long-term care facility “when absolutely necessary to respond to a major surge event and when the attending physician is satisfied that the patient will receive the care they require in their new setting,” Elliott said.

She confirmed the amendment is intended as a “temporary emergency order,” designed to “provide hospitals with the flexibility to transfer certain patients, those whose doctors have determined no longer require hospital care and could be better supported in a more appropriate setting, to a long-term care or retirement home.”

Elliot cushioned the announcement by assuring Ontarians that efforts to consult the patient on the move would be made and that any decision to move a patient to temporary holdings “would be done in only the most urgent of situations when a hospital is at risk of becoming overwhelmed [with COVID-19 patients].”

“This would be a temporary transfer and [any] patient who is transferred to a long-term care home that is not their first choice will continue to maintain their place in line for their first choice,” assured Elliot.

TDSB considers letting LGBTQ students change names without parental approval

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is currently evaluating whether or not it should allow LGBTQ students to change their preferred names in their school’s IT systems without having prior parental approval.

According to a report by the LGBTQS Community Advisory Committee, the committee has a table working with human rights groups to discuss the matter.

“In our student information system (SIS), there is a legal name and preferred name field. There is a table working with Human Rights to discuss what students have access to change on their profile without parental consent,” the report writes.

As part of the consultation process, the committee hopes to invite IT professionals and others to further discuss the potential change.

True North reached out to the committee for further details on the matter but did not hear back by the time this article was published.

Gender transitions by youth and teenagers has been a contentious issue as an increasing number of teens have considered transitioning into their preferred gender.

Critics of allowing youth to transition have argued that the “experimental” nature of treatment and other issues puts kids at risk.

In March, a different TDSB motion called on free feminine hygiene products to be provided in all 72 Ontario public schools for “people who menstruate.”

The motion titled “Access to Free Menstrual Products for Students in Ontario Schools” was presented before the TDSB Program and School Services Committee.

It argued that a “lack of access due to economic factors — often referred to as ‘period poverty’ — impacts people who menstruate around the world and can be especially damaging at puberty, when school interactions are crucial to a student’s development.”

The motion also claimed that requiring students to ask for such items violated their privacy and the hygiene products should be provided without the intermediary step of requesting the items.

Since 2019, TDSB schools have already been accommodating students by providing free menstrual products to girls upon request.

Facebook permanently bans LifeSiteNews for sharing COVID-19 vaccine research

Facebook has taken another step towards a growing culture of censorship after it decided to permanently ban LifeSiteNews on Tuesday.

According to the outlet, its public Facebook page was unpublished by the platform without notice.

LifeSiteNews is a pro-life outlet dedicated to covering family and social issues. The website was originally started by the Canadian pro-life organization Campaign Life Coalition.

Facebook accused the outlet of publishing “false information about COVID-19 that could contribute to physical harm” and “vaccine discouraging information on the platform.”

As an example of wrongdoing, Facebook cited an April 10, 2021 opinion piece the outlet had published on the alleged potential impacts of COVID-19 vaccines.

The opinion article, titled “COVID vaccines can be deadly for some,” cites several reports and studies showing the adverse effects of certain COVID-19 vaccines. The article also goes on to list people who allegedly died after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine despite already having the virus beforehand.

“We have known this day was coming for months now. Facebook has been silencing any voice that goes against their beliefs and agenda,” said LifeSiteNews Marketing Director Rebekah Roberts.

“Our LifeSiteNews Facebook page has been removed simply because we have shared reports of doctors, nurses, expert researchers, and even the former Pfizer VP speaking out against the COVID shots. We’ve also been tagged for the numerous articles we have shared making the connection between the COVID shots, and really all vaccines, and aborted baby cell lines.”

Award-winning US actress Mia Farrow tweeted on Tuesday that Canada needs America’s help to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, citing Canada’s embarrassingly low full vaccination rate.

To date, Farrow’s tweet has received over 10,000 likes and nearly 1,500 retweets.

According to government data, as of April 30, 2021, only 2.55% of Canada’s population has been fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, 29.3% of Canada’s population has received at least one dose of the vaccine.

In response to Farrow’s tweet, a number of Canadian Twitter users voiced disappointment with Canada’s vaccination rate.

“Thank you. We are doing well after many delays. Approx 40% in Ontario have 1st dose but need MUCH more supply to ensure important groups like essential workers (teachers) are vaxxed asap,” wrote Twitter user C. Turner.

“Thanks Mia. We are finally getting more vaccines but it’s been too slow and we could always use more . Nice of you to think of us,” tweeted Wendi Bloomenthal.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently addressed an advisory by Canada’s National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) which recommended people who are healthy wait for mRNA COVID-19 vaccines like the Moderna vaccine.

The advisory was contrary to the federal government’s message to Canadians which is to get the first vaccine available for them.

According to Trudeau, the federal government’s advice “has not changed” despite NACI’s recommendation.

NIH Hit With Lawsuit for Failing to Produce Documents Related to Controversial Gain-of-Function Research

Last week, Center for Food Safety filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the National Institutes of Health (NIH), an agency with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Center for Food Safety is suing the agency over its failure to release government documents related to the approval and issuance of NIH contracts and grants that fund research projects involving controversial gain of function/gain of threat studies with dangerous, so-called “enhanced potential pandemic pathogens.”

“The NIH’s refusal to make public the research it is funding to enhance the transmissibility, infectiousness and lethality of potential pandemic viruses is grossly irresponsible,” said Andrew Kimbrell, executive director of Center for Food Safety. “We are litigating to get that information because transparency and public knowledge about these highly hazardous experiments could be an important step in avoiding the next pandemic.”

An enhanced, “laboratory-generated” potential pandemic pathogen results from the enhancement of a potential pandemic pathogen’s transmissibility or virulence in humans. Gain of function/gain of threat studies, or research that improves the ability of a pathogen to cause disease, is a subset of life sciences research that most commonly involves the creation or use of enhanced potential pandemic pathogens.

Center for Food Safety’s lawsuit focuses on the agency’s withholding of records concerning NIH’s funding of proposed research that could create, transfer, or use enhanced potential pandemic pathogens for which additional review under HHS’ Framework for Guiding Funding Decisions about Proposed Research Involving Enhanced Potential Pandemic Pathogens (HHS P3CO Framework) is required.

“FOIA requires NIH to release records promptly. Unfortunately, the agency has failed to comply with FOIA’s statutory deadlines with respect to our request,” said Victoria Yundt, staff attorney at Center for Food Safety. “Consequently, NIH has unlawfully deprived the public of its statutory right to obtain records containing crucial information about government approval and funding of new and continued gain of function/gain of threat studies that consist of creating, transferring or using enhanced potential pandemic pathogens in U.S. laboratories, which — if released from a laboratory accident — could result in catastrophic consequences to the human environment.”

Without the requested records, Center for Food Safety cannot determine how many gain of function/gain of threat projects have been funded by the NIH, nor how many of these projects have undergone the proper review or comply with other federal laws and regulations.

NIH’s unlawful withholding of public records undermines FOIA’s basic purpose of government transparency. Center for Food Safety has a history of suing the federal government to compel agencies to be compliant with FOIA. Center for Food Safety’s FOIA program is committed to upholding the principles embodied in FOIA, such as maintaining an open and transparent government.

Bilbott told Children’s Health Defense Chairman Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on the “RFK Jr The Defender Podcast” that he soon learned Parkersburg had a massive DuPont plant and the dying cows, which belonged to Wilbur Tennant, were exposed to chemicals coming from a landfill owned by DuPont.

Bilbott said:

“When you looked at these videotapes, you could see white foaming water coming out of this landfill owned by DuPont. It had the big DuPont label on the discharge pipe. You could see cows standing in the white foaming water with tumors. Their teeth were black. There were pictures of dead animals. And it wasn’t just the cows. It was the fish. It was the deer and other wildlife in the area.”

The damage C8 caused to the cows was nothing short of a horror movie. When Tennant examined his dead cows, he found deformed organs, discolored organs and stillborn calves.

And cows were not the only victims, notes Kennedy:

“DuPont had poisoned an entire community of 70,000 people and multiple water districts, and they had known for years that their PFOAs were in the water. They were in the dust that was in people’s homes. It was literally everywhere. And it was in the bodies and the blood supply. This is what they call a forever chemical. It’s caused testicular cancer, kidney cancer and a whole lot of other diseases. And DuPont knew it.”

Alberta Government data contradicts the assertion of Premier Jason Kenney that further restrictions on Charter freedoms of association and peaceful assembly, and the shutdown of personal wellness, bars, restaurants and small businesses, are necessary to protect Alberta’s health-care system from being “overwhelmed.”

On Tuesday, May 4, 2021 Jason Kenney announced a fourth wave of extreme lockdown measures including closing hair salons, tattoo shops, personal wellness services, schools, post-secondary institutions and outdoor patios, among other closures.

Evidence uncovered by the Justice Centre through Freedom of Information (FOI) requests reveal that regular hospital beds as well as Intensive Care Units were in significantly less demand and usage during 2020 and 2021 than in any year as far back as 2015. Canada confirms second death linked to AstraZeneca, becomes first country to approve Pfizer for young teens

May 6, 2021 (Children’s Health Defense) — A 50-year-old woman from the Canadian province of Alberta died from a rare blood clot condition after receiving the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine, the province’s chief medical officer of health said.

In a statement Tuesday, Dr. Deena Hinshaw said the woman died of vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT). It was Canada’s second confirmed death of VITT linked to the vaccine.

Though extremely rare, VITT differs from a typical blood clot because it can cause both cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) — where veins that drain blood from the brain are obstructed –– and fatal bleeding.

According to CBC News, Canada has reported seven cases of blood clots following immunization with AstraZeneca, but public health officials maintain the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the potential risks.

In a statement Wednesday, Alberta Health said they will continue to administer AstraZeneca’s COVID vaccine. “This does not change the risk assessment previously communicated to Albertans.”

As The Defender reported April 7, European regulators found a “possible link” between AstraZeneca’s COVID vaccine and “very rare” blood clots, but concluded the benefits of the vaccine still outweigh the risks.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) did not recommend restricting use of the vaccine based on age, gender or other risk factors, but did say cases of blood clotting after vaccination “should be” listed as a possible side effect, according to a statement issued by the agency’s safety committee.

This occurred after more than 20 countries suspended AstraZeneca vaccinations due to reports of deaths and injuries — in most cases related to blood clots — in healthy people who received the vaccine.

On April 20, the EMA also identified a possible link between Johnson & Johnson’s COVID vaccine — which uses similar adenovirus technology — and rare blood clots, but said overall benefits still outweigh risks.

Manitoba working on QR code technology that could be used to track vaccination status

May 6, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — The Canadian province of Manitoba may be looking into creating a type of COVID-19 vaccine record card enabled by QR code, which could be used as a sort of digital “vaccine passport” according to a source who works with the government.

In an interview with LifeSiteNews, a source within Manitoba Shared Health’s IT department spoke on the condition of anonymity about new QR code capabilities being developed for COVID-19 vaccine cards.

The source said that information he has seen appears to show the new type of computer program using QR code technology dubbed “Vaxcard.”

A QR code is a form of a barcode which links to information and was invented 1994. It is widely used for a variety of applications.

The “Vaxcard” technology appears to be in a “near release” stage of development, and for now does not include phone applications, although the source told LifeSiteNews a phone app is “likely.”

“I get to see a lot of these systems before they are released, and it was brought up on our team, we were working on this. It can be used to generate a QR code with a link to the Manitoba [government] website and list vaccine records and status of COVID-19 vaccine stats, or possibly be used for other shots, as well,” said the source.

He is not sure how much the QR code “Vaxcard” is common knowledge among government workers, but he has concerns over what it could morph into.

The source told LifeSiteNews that he is concerned the introduction of a QR code to a vaccine card could eventually lead to some type of full blown “COVID passport,” or be integrated into any potential future ones at the federal level.

The source shared a screenshot of a test page of both a QR code sample, as well as a test “consent” page which shows what one must agree to in order to obtain a “Vaxcard.”

The test page text states, “I understand that every time the QR code on my immunization card is scanned, Manitoba’s Department of Health and Seniors Care will disclose my personal health information (full name, date of most recent COVID-19 vaccination and type of vaccination received) to the third party scanning the QR code.”

The image of the consent page goes on to state that by “presenting the QR code on my Immunization Card to a third party to be scanned, I consent to this disclosure by Manitoba’s Department of Health and Seniors Care to the third party scanning the QR code.”

“I understand that every separate instance of scanning the QR code on my immunization Card is considered a separate disclosure and that for each instance where I present my Immunization Card to be scanned, I am consenting to this disclosure by Manitoba’s Department of Health and Seniors Care,” reads the consent message.

It is not clear what types of “third parties” would constitute having a need for one’s COVID-19 vaccine status, but it appears to be VeroSource Solutions, which already works with Manitoba’s Department of Health and Seniors Care on its new online proof-of-immunization records service, introduced in February.

VeroSource was founded in 2014, with a “dream of putting healthcare information in the hands of people and families.”

According to VeroSource’s website, “Citizens are now able to securely access their COVID-19 immunization history, in addition to their COVID-19 test results, using the VeroSource cloud service.”

The Manitoba government already has available to its residents a page where one can ask to access personal “COVID-19” vaccine records. Once registered, it is possible to print COVID-19 vaccine record. This registry system uses VeroSource software.

The Manitoba government website does state, however, that they are developing “a more permanent record of immunization” for the future. “Manitoba is developing a secure, more permanent card that will be available later this spring. More information will be provided as soon as possible.”

When asked about this note on the government website, the source said that it could very well be the coming QR code card that is in the works, as it fits well with the timelines of the project.

Justin Trudeau dismissed Conservative criticism of his online censorship bill in Parliament yesterday, commenting on “the tinfoil hats on the other side of the aisle” before claiming that Liberal support for free speech online is “not negotiable.”

The prime minister's insult was in reference to debate on Bill C-10, An Act To Amend The Broadcasting Act. The Act would grant federal agencies power to censor user-generated content on the Internet.

Quebec Premier Francois Legault announced today that the Quebec government would begin issuing digital proof of vaccination, in another step towards the introduction of vaccine passports for Canadians.

Speaking at a press conference today, Premier Legault declared through a translator, “I'm following up with the electronic proof of vaccination will be, actually, a QR code that will be supplied by email to Quebecers.”

“So as of next Thursday, May 13, people who have already received one dose, or who will go get vaccinated, will receive, gradually, an email asking if they want to get electronic proof of vaccination — the QR code.”

A paper proof of vaccination, the premier said, will continue to be provided on-site after an individual receives a vaccination.

Anticipating questions regarding the likelihood of vaccine passports, Premier Legault added that “answering in advance, we have asked public health to do intensive work on this. So we will come back to you shortly to talk about the use of this proof of vaccines.”

The topic of vaccine passports has caused controversy as critics say it could cause unwarranted infringement on civil liberties. At one point, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was even critical of the concept of a passport for COVID vaccines, saying that he felt the system could raise issues of inequality.

“The idea of certificates of vaccination for domestic use does bring in questions of equity,” the prime minister said on March 12. “There are questions of fairness and justice. There could be discrimination.”

In May, Trudeau changed his tone.

Deferring to decisions made by Canada's allies on requiring a vaccine passport, Trudeau said that his government was “looking very carefully at it, hoping to align with allied countries.”

Bloc Quebecois leader Yves-Francois Blanchet was also supportive of vaccine proof, saying that “we should recognize the jurisdiction of every country or territory to define what is a safe vaccination or not,” adding that the country could then “allow the circulation of people who carry proof of that.”

Quebec has reported just under 355,000 cases of COVID-19, the second highest total by province in Canada, though it's recorded the highest number of deaths at nearly 11,000. The province has been under a strict lockdown, which includes a curfew, for several months.

Toronto City Council has unanimously voted in support of a motion that will see the city urge the Bank of Canada and the Royal Canadian Mint to replace “white and male” politicians on Canada’s currency.

The motion, which was introduced by Coun. Paul Ainslie and seconded by Coun. Kristyn Wong-Tam, was voted on by the council on Thursday.

“In the pursuit to better reflect a more heterogeneous and inclusive society this Motion speaks to our currency being overrepresented by politicians, most of whom are white and male, underrepresenting persons who have contributed to other fields of great importance to our society,” writes Coun. Ainslie.

“Our currency does not reflect our current multiracial, gender diverse and multicultural reality as a nation.”

In his motion, Ainslie cites US President Joe Biden’s move to have civil rights hero Harriet Tubman replace former president Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill.

“The Biden administration is also considering special coin and bill issues which will give prominence to those who championed women’s rights as well as civil and voting rights. Those being considered include Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul, Martin Luther King Jr. and Marian Anderson,” argues Ainslee.

Ainslee also cites the fact that although much of Canada’s currency features a woman, Queen Elizabeth II, Ainslee notes that it is “due to her position as Head of State, and not because she is a woman.”

Medical journal calls for Ivermectin to be ‘globally & systematically deployed’

This comes as welcome news as local jurisdictions and governments worldwide seek to establish policies which would enforce mandatory vaccinations in order for citizens to participate fully in society. Many have wondered if perhaps governments and Big Pharma have an agenda to push the vaccine while eliminating cheaper, more effective ways of treating the coronavirus.

In an article titled “Review of the Emerging Evidence Demonstrating the Efficacy of Ivermectin in the Prophylaxis and Treatment of COVID-19,” the study’s authors found large, statistically significant reductions in mortality and recovery time in addition to “significantly reduced risks of contracting COVID-19 with the regular use of ivermectin.”

They also cite many examples of “ivermectin distribution campaigns leading to rapid population-wide decreases in morbidity and mortality,” prompting them to conclude that as an oral agent, ivermectin is “effective in all phases of COVID-19.”

In December, the Associated Press (AP) sought to invalidate growing claims that ivermectin “has a miraculous effectiveness that obliterates” the transmission of COVID-19 and will prevent people from getting sick.”

The U.S Food & Drug Administration (FDA) continues to warn U.S consumers that ivermectin should not be used to treat or prevent COVID-19.

Despite the FDA’s negative stance, in January the National Institutes of Health (NIH) upgraded their recommendation for the drug, making it an option for use in treating COVID-19 within the United States. Last August, NIH had recommended against the use of ivermectin for COVID-19, despite mounting studies and anecdotal reports concerning the often miraculous outcomes associated with the drug’s use.

In contrast with the increasing number of deaths and other very troubling, debilitating medical side effects associated with taking COVID vaccines, numerous studies have reported low rates of adverse events from using ivermectin to treat the virus.

US Senate Leader Schumer calls for re-opening of Canada-US border

US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says the Canada-US border should open soon as residents of both countries suffer the effects of prolonged closures.

Originally reported by True North contributor Anthony Furey, Schumer travelled to the Massena International Airport in upstate New York this week to make his case for re-opening the border.

“We can’t wait any longer,” the New York state senator said.

“The monthly extensions… have no rhyme or reason, they confuse people, they don’t let people plan, they frustrate thousands of western New Yorkers and Southern Ontarians, who depend on the border crossing.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau originally closed the border to non-essential travel on March 16, 2020 and has extended the closure each month since.

Earlier this week, Trudeau indicated that he was not interested in re-opening the border anytime soon, but added that he may consider reopening it in the summer “if everything goes well.”

Schumer says the United States’ high vaccination rates and New York’s recent decision to lift most restrictions means keeping the border closed is no longer necessary.

“While at the beginning — and in the height — of the pandemic it was understandable for such drastic measures to be taken, we know much more about the virus than we knew in March of last year and are making strong gains against it,” he said.

“Since vaccination rates have risen, overall rates are steadily falling, and New York is ready to reopen, based on the data, it is time to take the first steps towards reopening the Northern Border to non-essential travel.”

Unfortunately, Canada drastically lags behind the U.S. when it comes to vaccinating Canadians. According to government data, as of April 30, 2021, only 2.55% of Canada’s population has been fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

In comparison, 32.3% of Americans are fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Schumer is the latest to join the bipartisan chorus of U.S. politicians calling for the reopening of the border to normal travellers.

In April, Democratic Congressman Brian Higgins, who represents the cities of Buffalo and Niagara Falls, called for the border to re-open, noting that many families in border towns have been torn apart.

Alaska Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy recently offered free vaccinations to the residents of a small Canadian town on the Alaska-BC border. Dunleavy personally visited the border with Alaska’s chief medical officer to offer the vaccines and ask Canada to begin allowing residents to cross.

What she uncovers is that the stock of the world’s largest corporations are owned by the same institutional investors. They all own each other.

This means that “competing” brands, like Coke and Pepsi aren’t really competitors, at all, since their stock is owned by exactly the same investment companies, investment funds, insurance companies, banks and in some cases, governments. This is the case, across all industries. As she says:

They are Vanguard and BlackRock.

The power of these two companies is beyond your imagination. Not only do they own a large part of the stocks of nearly all big companies but also the stocks of the investors in those companies. This gives them a complete monopoly.

A Bloomberg report states that both these companies in the year 2028, together will have investments in the amount of 20 trillion dollars. That means that they will own almost everything.

Bloomberg calls BlackRock “The fourth branch of government”, because it’s the only private agency that closely works with the central banks.

BlackRock lends money to the central bank but it’s also the advisor. It also develops the software the central bank uses. Many BlackRock employees were in the White House with Bush and Obama.

Its CEO, Larry Fink can count on a warm welcome from leaders and politicians. Not so strange, if you know that he is the front man of the ruling company but Larry Fink does not pull the strings himself.

BlackRock, itself is also owned by shareholders. Who are those shareholders? We come to a strange conclusion. The biggest shareholder is Vanguard.

But now he gets murky. Vanguard is a private company and we cannot see who the shareholders are.

The elite who own Vanguard apparently do not like being in the spotlight but of course they cannot hide from who is willing to dig.

Reports from Oxfam and Bloomberg say that 1% of the world, together owns more money than the other 99%. Even worse, Oxfam says that 82% of all earned money in 2017 went to this 1%.

In other words, these two investment companies, Vanguard and BlackRock hold a monopoly in all industries in the world and they, in turn are owned by the richest families in the world, some of whom are royalty and who have been very rich since before the Industrial Revolution.

Why doesn’t everybody know this? Why aren’t there movies and documentaries about this? Why isn’t it in the news? Because 90% of the international media is owned by nine media conglomerates.

Covid Lie asks, “Who sponsors the organization and press agencies that produce our news? With Project Syndicate, we see the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Open Society Foundation and the European Journalism Centre.

The COVID vaccine is a gene treatment. RNA is injected into the body, for the purpose of forcing cells to manufacture a protein. The promise? Protection against a purported virus.

The first generation of Monsanto crops followed the same pattern. Genes were injected into plants. Like a vaccine, its purpose was protection; in this case, against Monsanto’s own herbicide poison, Roundup.

The overall health of the crops and the human body were reduced. The nutritive value of the crops diminished; super-weeds on the GMO farms flourished. The huge number of adverse effects from the vaccine testify to expanding human damage.

The Monsanto genes in the plants drifted. They were found in non-GMO plants, in soil bacteria, and human gut bacteria.

The RNA in the vaccine and/or its products appear to have shed and drifted from person to person, given the large numbers of reports from unvaccinated women who, after coming into contact with vaccinated persons, experienced interrupted patterns of menstruation, bleeding, and miscarriages.

As I wrote the other day, Pfizer’s own warnings about its COVID vaccine include pregnant women coming into the proximity of vaccinated persons (“inhalation, skin contact” mentioned).

Both GMO crops and the GMO vaccine are imposed, top-down, on the population, from corporate giants who are reaping massive profits. Continuing propaganda campaigns are designed to convince famers and the general population to accept and celebrate the dangerous GMO crops and the GMO vaccine.

Governments protect and run interference for the companies who produce the GMO crops and the vaccine.

Bill Gates is an ardent supporter, publicist, and funder of GMO crops and GMO vaccines. He keeps asserting, like a psychotic baron living in a castle on top of a mountain, that the crops and the vaccine will save the world.

Many critics of the GMO vaccine are unaware of (or have forgotten about) the dangers of GMO crops. And many critics of GMO crops fail to realize (or are afraid to criticize) the dangers of the COVID GMO vaccine.

Abstract: COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers have been exempted from legal liability for vaccine-induced harm. It is therefore in the interests of all those authorising, enforcing and administering COVID-19 vaccinations to understand the evidence regarding the risks and benefits of these vaccines, since liability for harm will fall on them.

In short, the available evidence and science indicate that COVID-19 vaccines are unnecessary, ineffective and unsafe.

Necessity: Immunocompetent individuals are protected against SARS-CoV-2 by cellular immunity. Vaccinating low-risk groups is therefore unnecessary. For immunocompromised individuals who do fall ill with COVID-19 there is a range of medical treatments that have been proven safe and effective. Vaccinating the vulnerable is therefore equally unnecessary. Both immunocompetent and vulnerable groups are better protected against variants of SARS-CoV-2 by naturally acquired immunity and by medication than by vaccination.

Efficacy: Covid-19 vaccines lack a viable mechanism of action against SARS-CoV-2 infection of the airways. Induction of antibodies cannot prevent infection by an agent such as SARS-CoV-2 that invades through the respiratory tract. Moreover, none of the vaccine trials have provided any evidence that vaccination prevents transmission of the infection by vaccinated individuals; urging vaccination to “protect others” therefore has no basis in fact.

Safety: The vaccines are dangerous to both healthy individuals and those with pre-existing chronic disease, for reasons such as the following: risk of lethal and non-lethal disruptions of blood clotting including bleeding disorders, thrombosis in the brain, stroke and heart attack; autoimmune and allergic reactions; antibody-dependent enhancement of disease; and vaccine impurities due to rushed manufacturing and unregulated production standards.

The risk-benefit calculus is therefore clear: the experimental vaccines are needless, ineffective and dangerous. Actors authorising, coercing or administering experimental COVID-19 vaccination are exposing populations and patients to serious, unnecessary, and unjustified medical risks.

Public Safety ignored Antifa, violent left-wing groups in banned terror group report

The Trudeau Government failed to consider any violent left-wing protest groups associated with urban riots and bombings when compiling its annual list of banned terrorist groups, True North has learned.

According to a new document exclusively obtained by True North, the Department of Public Safety did not provide any records to the Minister on a long list of Antifa-affiliated groups who operate in Canada.

Antifa is a violent far-left movement whose followers organize riots and openly call for violence against anyone they believe is a “fascist” — a broad and ill-defined classification that has included veterans, police officers, security guards, military personnel, store owners, journalists, conservatives, Trump supporters and anyone who isn’t adequately woke.

Antifa members have been arrested in cities across North America and Europe for the destruction of property, arson, uttering threats, assault, incitement and even murder.

The group dubs itself “anti-racist” and “anti-fascist,” and because they occupy the far-left end of the political spectrum, they often fly under the radar and do not receive the same attention and condemnation from journalists, academics and politicians as violent groups on the far-right.

As for the Trudeau Liberals, records show that Antifa and its violent rallies are not even worth studying.

An access to information request asked the government to “provide any memos, briefing notes, policy briefs and other similar documents provided to the Minister relating to the possible placement of the following groups on the Criminal Code list of terrorist entities.” The request lists more than a dozen Antifa groups that are known to operate in Canada.

“A thorough search was conducted and Public Safety Canada was unable to locate any records responding to your request,” wrote a manager with Access to Information and Privacy in response to the request.

One of the groups listed in the request, Résistance Internationaliste, claimed responsibility for a number of bombings between 2004 and 2010, with targets including an oil and gas executive in Montreal and a Canadian Forces recruitment centre in Trois-Rivières.

Another group, Hamilton Against Fascism, has been involved in a number of violent attacks that have led to many arrests. In late 2018, ring-leader Cedar Hopperton pleaded guilty to mischief over $5,000 and counseling to commit mischief after he led a riot that caused significant property damage.

Hopperton was described as the “ringleader” of a group of some 40 masked anarchists who attended what they described as a “militant and confrontational march.”

Likewise, the group Toronto Against Fascism has been linked to violent rallies, including one outside a Munk Debate at Roy Thomson Hall in November 2018. According to Toronto Police, 12 people were arrested during that rally after police officers were assaulted. “One officer hit with a stick, another punched in the face,” noted a tweet from Toronto Police Operations.

Several other Antifa affiliated groups, including Youth Liberation Front, Redneck Revolt Socialist Rifle Association and By Any Means Necessary, all have a long rap sheet of violence at their street marches in the U.S., and yet, none were examined by the Minister of Public Safety.

The Trudeau government has been accused of politicizing the terrorist watch list, first removing the term “Sikh extremists” so as not to offend Khalistani activists in the Liberal base, and then going even further to remove the terms “Sunni” and “Shia” when describing radical Islamist terror groups.

Trudeau’s terrorist report included a large section on “right-wing extremism,” but does not so much as mention “left-wing” groups — this despite the growing menace of Antifa and violent left-wing urban riots.

Canada lost 207,000 jobs in April: StatsCan

Canada lost a total 207,000 jobs last month as increased lockdowns in multiple provinces pushed many out of the workforce.

According to Statistics Canada’s monthly Labour Force Survey published on Friday, nearly half a million Canadians either lost their jobs or faced reduced hours in April.

“Employment fell by 207,000 (-1.1%) in April and the unemployment rate rose 0.6 percentage points to 8.1%,” the agency wrote.

“Employment declined in both full-time (-129,000; -0.8%) and part-time (-78,000; -2.3%) work. The number of employed people working less than half their usual hours increased by 288,000 (+27.2%).”

StatsCan attributes the decline in employment to increased lockdowns, primarily in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia.

In early April, the Ford government issued a provincewide stay-at-home order and forced all non-essential businesses to close indoor business. Similar restrictions in Quebec and BC put many people out of work.

“The majority of the April employment decline occurred in Ontario and British Columbia, in industries most affected by the recent tightening of public health restrictions.”

The vast majority of jobs lost were in three industries which were heavily affected by lockdowns, namely retail trade (-84,000), accommodation and food services (-59,000) and information, culture and recreation (-26,000).

StatsCan also notes that as of January 2021, there were 20,000 fewer active businesses in Canada compared with a year earlier. Similar to the April Labour Force Survey, the largest declines were seen in food services and recreation.

Amazon to delay Prime Day in Canada due to COVID-19 situation

The major online retailer Amazon will be delaying its annual Prime Day for Canada and India because of the dire COVID-19 situation in both countries.

According to CNBC, Amazon will be hitting the pause button on the savings event and has yet to reveal when it will resume.

Prime Day is a sales event which allows Amazon users to experience the company’s Prime shipping services. Amazon has been doing the event annually since 2015.

As a result of slow vaccination roll outs and some provinces experiencing a harsh third wave of COVID-19, Canada was skipped over for this year’s deals.

Meanwhile, other countries like the US, Germany, France and China will be allowed to partake in the event in June.

Last year, Amazon delayed its Prime Day event until October 2020.

Critics have accused Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of mishandling Canada’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout, leading to the country lagging behind its international partners in re-opening.

“We are in the third wave of this pandemic, so severe because of the Prime Minister’s failure to secure vaccines at a rate the United States was at months ago. Exceeding targets by stealing vaccines from the developing world is shameful leadership by the Prime Minister,” said Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole on April 20th.

Trudeau has defended his government’s handling of the situation, claiming that he had no regrets on Canada’s pace despite trailing behind other nations.

“No, not in terms of our vaccine rollout. Obviously, we worked extremely hard from last summer onwards to sign many different contracts with different potential vaccine makers around the world,” Trudeau said.

“In general, the vaccines have been arriving in Canada in steadily increasing numbers.”

“Let Us Breathe” mural at Calgary art park removed because it could “cause harm”

A mural with a message aimed at ending the masking of children has been painted over, just days after its completion.

The image, featured in the containR Art Park in Calgary, Alberta, depicted a young girl alongside an owl carrying away a now commonly-seen blue surgical mask emblazoned with the words “Let Us Breathe” written on it.

Created by artist Elena Bushan, the piece drew the ire of those on social media in vehement support of widespread mask usage.

“People are telling me I have no heart, I don't care about elders,” Busha, an immigrant from the former Soviet republic of Moldova said in a story featured in the Calgary Herald. “My father nearly died from COVID in Europe. I'm not anti-mask or anti-vaccine. I am a mother of two kids and I am worried about children.”

Referring to a recent report from McMaster Children's Hospital that found a tripling of attempted suicides by youth over a four-month period, Bushan said that children's “mental health is deteriorating… they are breaking.”

In response, the artistic director and executive producer of Springboard Performance, the company that manages the containR park, suggested that the piece Bushan created was different from the design first proposed and approved.

“I saw [in the preview] a way we're all coming out of COVID, health in a garden and finding new ways of growth,” Springboard Performance's Nicole Mion said. “That is very different than language specific to one group's opinion about whether COVID is real, what masks do or do not and what vaccines do or not.”

Explaining why the mural had to be removed, Mion said that she was “a big believer in supporting lots of different arts and opinions,” but that in this instance “art that is dangerous is beyond the scope of what the not-for-profit people of Springboard believe in and what we do at containR.” Because she couldn't “guarantee that the mural could do no harm,” that meant it had to be removed.

A common place for art depicting various movements and issues over its 12-year history, the containR park had no qualms hosting a Black Lives Matter mural, despite numerous instances of those protests turning violent.

Rebel News previously reported on a controversy in Calgary surrounding a Black Lives Matter mural that was set prominently in the city. That art project was moved to the Chinatown district in the city.

“If the disagreement can cause harm,” Mion explained, “ethically, we can't support that.”

Bushan, however, did acknowledge that the initial proposal was slightly different from the final result, where she chose to add on the “Let Us Breathe” message to raise awareness of the difficulties children have faced during the lengthy period of restrictions placed on them. Bushan pointed toward artistic license in her defence.

“They said I can be freely expressing myself… I don't want to get into a conflict with containR. I appreciate everything they do,” she said.

Bushan offered to rectify the situation by offering to return her commission and painting over the apparently offensive message. Mion, however, said there was no remedy, and that the piece would “always represent something else.”

Having been 10 when her former homeland was plunged into civil war, Bushan described growing up in a society where the population was fearful of sharing their opinions.

Bushan worries that “we're damaging a whole generation,” adding that “not all kids are resilient. I carried my childhood trauma with me my whole life.”

‘Apostasy’: Gay ‘pride’ flag to fly over Toronto Catholic schools

TORONTO, May 7, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) voted last night to declare June “Pride Month” and to fly the homosexual rainbow “Pride” flag at all schools within the board for the entire month of June in defiance of Catholic moral teaching that warns against the spiritual dangers of homosexual behavior and in defiance of the local Archbishop’s directives on the matter.

“With this vote, the TCDSB stepped into apostasy. It is no longer Catholic,” Jack Fonseca of Canada’s pro-life and pro-family organization Campaign Life Coalition told LifeSiteNews.

“Watching the trustees debate last night, I couldn’t believe that I was witnessing an official arm of the Roman Catholic Church agree to celebrate sexual sin. It was horrifying,” he added.

The vote comes in the wake of the TCDSB’s newly-established “2SLGBTQ+ Advisory Committee” recommending that the board proclaim June as Pride month and that the Pride flag be raised “at the Catholic Education Centre and at all schools in the system.”

Declaring June as Pride month “implores us to be compassionate, welcoming, and inclusive of marginalized people, including 2SLGBTQ+, as an example of our faith in action,” the pro-LGBT Committee stated in a report submitted to the board for the meeting last night.

The recommendations passed 7-5. Delegations at the meeting — which ended about 2 a.m. — included former Ontario Premier and current MPP Kathleen Wynne, a lesbian who as former Education Minister a decade ago was responsible for launching the pro-homosexual Equity and Inclusive Education (EIE) strategy that encouraged school boards to participate in Gay Pride parades, use texts by homosexual authors, and introduce into schools gay-straight alliance clubs. Pro-homosexual Toronto City Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam also made a delegation.

Canadian March for Life will forge ahead next week, despite lockdowns

OTTAWA, Ontario, May 7, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Despite COVID-19 restrictions still in place, organizers of Canada’s 2021 March for Life say that given “the urgency” of addressing the human rights “injustices of abortion and euthanasia,” they will forge ahead with an in-person rally and march in Ottawa on May 13.

“Despite COVID-19 and related restrictions, we do still have a constitutional right to peacefully demonstrate, as delineated in our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms,” stated Canada’s National March for Life in a statement. “Given both the urgency and importance of addressing the human rights injustices of abortion and euthanasia, we are choosing to exercise this right in as safe and prudential a manner as possible.”

Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) is the organizer of the event, which last year was held virtually, due to COVID-19 lockdowns.

A year later, COVID-19 restrictions are still in place in Ontario, banning large gatherings outdoors.

CLC says that along with the in-person rally and march, there is a “full program of virtual events” to be held between May 9 and 16.

The in-person rally will start at 12:30 p.m. EST on May 13, on the steps of Canada’s Parliament Hill in Ottawa, with the march planned to start at 1:15 p.m.

The march will return to Parliament Hill at around 2 p.m. for “Silent No More Awareness Testimonies.”

Debbie Duval, National Capital Organizer for CLC, said in a May 5 statement that at its core, the National March for Life “is a protest against the greatest human rights injustice of our age” — abortion and euthanasia — and because of this, “we have a duty to hold our legislators to account.”

The March for Life has advised all of those who choose to come to the in-person rally that “every attendee must assess what level of risk they are personally willing to assume” by coming to the event.

“Please be advised of both the legal and health risks associated with attending the National March for Life in Ottawa. We will do our best to mitigate those risks,” noted the event organizers in a statement. “If you do decide to attend the rally and March for Life, please act respectfully and responsibly, and follow all relevant health measures, outlined here.”

The March for Life has asked people not to attend if they are feeling ill, suspects they might have COVID-19, or have recently arrived from out of country.

The organizers say they have made this request for the “sake of fellow attendees (some of whom may be elderly), and the sake of the organizers, namely Campaign Life Coalition, and our ability to hold future marches.”

There will be an online Rose Dinner on May 13, emceed by David Bereit, the founder of 40 Days for Life and a pro-life speaker, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Ontario leads Canada’s provinces and territories in the severity of its lockdowns and public health measures, a new report on provincial COVID-19 responses suggests.

A paper recently published by a team of Oxford University researchers and data scientists compares Canada’s provincial and territorial COVID-19 government measures.

Included in the report is a “stringency index” which evaluates the overall strictness of lockdowns and public health orders. The index takes into account over a dozen variables including mask policy, gathering limits, restaurant closures and much more.

While relying on this research, True North has graded the severity of each province’s COVID-19 lockdowns. Grades were based on the stringency scores applied to each province by Oxford University – the higher the stringency score, the lower the grade.

Any province with a low stringency score of 0–20 received a grade of “A,” while provinces with a score of 20–40 received a grade of “B” and so on, with “F” being the worst grade a province or territory with a stringency score between 80–100 could achieve.

As noted by the report researchers, the stringency scores shouldn’t be interpreted as a measure of how good or appropriate the policies are but how relatively strict the lockdown-style measures are when compared province by province.

One of the latest headlines on the site is from the New York Post documenting a 42-year-old cybersecurity expert who died after getting injected. Below that is a Twitter thread from writer Alex Berenson about the mainstream media’s endless Chinese virus propaganda.

“I’m watching baseball tonight and out of nowhere the announcers start talking about the vaccine, how easy getting it was, how great it is … and the stadium signage says, ‘Take one for the team. Get vaccinated,'” Berenson tweeted.

“Two tiny tendrils of this overwhelming campaign, not just nationally but internationally coordinated on so many fronts – get vaccinated and fly to Europe or go to college or get free donuts,” he added. “And help me out here. I cannot think of another example remotely like this.”

Below that are screenshots taken directly from Pfizer’s mRNA vaccine trial documentation admitting that Wuhan flu shots do, in fact, shed onto other people, including the unvaccinated.

Section 8.3.5.1 of the document explains that humans can inhale spike proteins as well as pick them up from others via skin contact. This means that those who get injected for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) are potentially spreading DNA-modifying poisons to every person with whom they come into contact.

Meanwhile, the CDC is pushing to lift the “pause” on the J&J jab because the goal is to get as many Americans vaccinated at “warp speed” as possible. All of this came about, of course, thanks to Donald Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed” scheme for mass vaccination.

Another thing worth noting is the latest news about how mRNA injections can cause people to develop herpes – nothing like some sexually transmitted diseases to go along with that “immunity,” eh?

A breakthrough case is recorded if a person tests positive for SARS-Cov-2 two weeks after receiving the single-dose Johnson & Johnson (J&J) shot or completing the two-dose Moderna or Pfizer vaccination.

Why the changes matter

In April, the CDC issued new guidance to laboratories recommending reducing the RT-PCR CT value to 28 cycles — but only for those fully vaccinated individuals being tested for COVID.

In an RT-PCR test — the gold standard for detecting SARS-CoV-2 — RNA is extracted from the swab collected from the patient. It is then converted into DNA, which is then amplified.

CT, or cycle threshold, is a value that emerges during RT-PCR tests. A CT value refers to the number of cycles needed to amplify viral RNA to reach a detectable level.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, a patient is considered positive for COVID if the CT value is below 35. In other words, if the virus is detectable after 35 cycles or earlier, then the patient is considered positive.

Dr. Anthony Fauci recommends a CT value of 35. Globally, the accepted cut-off for CT value for COVID ranges between 35 and 40, depending on instructions from manufacturers of testing equipment.

“If the benchmark were to be lowered to 24 it would mean that CT values in the range 25-34 would not be considered positive,” according to the Indian Council of Medical Research, as reported by The Indian Express. “A benchmark of 35, therefore, means that more patients would be considered positive than we would get if the benchmark were 24.”

In other words, lowering CT threshold parameter may lead to missing infectious persons.

CDC won’t report new breakthrough numbers this week

Because the change in how the CDC will report breakthrough cases is still being implemented and won’t take effect until May 14, the CDC did not report new numbers this week.

According to the latest available numbers, as of April 26, the CDC reported 9,245 people had tested positive for COVID at least two weeks after getting their final COVID vaccination. About 9%, or 835, people required hospitalization and 132 died.

Of the hospitalized patients, 241 were said to be asymptomatic or having an illness not related to COVID, and 20 deaths were reported as asymptomatic or not related to the disease.

The latest numbers are from 46 U.S. states and territories. It’s not clear which four states didn’t submit breakthrough case figures to the CDC.

“These surveillance data are a snapshot and help identify patterns and look for signals among vaccine breakthrough cases,” the CDC said in an April 27 statement. “As CDC and state health departments shift to focus only on investigating vaccine breakthrough cases that result in hospitalization or death, those data will be regularly updated and posted every Friday.”

According to the CDC, actual vaccine breakthrough numbers are likely higher as the surveillance system is passive and relies on voluntary reporting from state health departments and may not be complete. In addition, some breakthrough cases will not be identified due to lack of testing. This is particularly true in instances of asymptomatic or mild illness, CDC added.

The CDC said vaccines are still effective, noting the breakthrough cases represent a small percentage of those who have been vaccinated.

Canadian conservative media website Rebel News has reportedly been blacklisted by PayPal, the web’s leading payment processor, another incident in a growing trend of financial blacklisting of conservatives.

“PayPal, the online credit card processor just cut off Rebel News,” said founder Ezra Levant.

“This could actually destroy us. We use PayPal to process a million dollars a year. That covers half our staff payroll.”

Levant says his legal team will file a lawsuit against PayPal “as soon as next week,” for breach of contract and unlawful interference with economic relations.

The Rebel News founder says that his personal account, and the account of Rebel’s nonprofit were also shut down. In a video for Rebel News, Levant showed an email correspondence from PayPal that did not specify what rule the news organization had allegedly breached.

PayPal and other online payment processors have increasingly targeted conservative voices in recent years.

PayPal alone has suspended service to the free speech video platform BitChute, conservative street artist Sabo, English secularist campaigner Tommy Robinson, Republican political candidate Laura Loomer, Infowars, Jihad Watch and the American Freedom Defense Initiative (both later reversed), and the Core Issues Trust (CIT), a Christian charity in Ireland.

This is part of a growing trend that has seen far-left activist pressure financial institutions including credit card companies like Mastercard to suspend service to their political opponents. In 2019, far-left activists lobbied Mastercard to create a “human rights council” to monitor and potentially cut off payments to the “far right.”

Some liberal organizations have warned that the politicization of financial services is a mistake. In 2018, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) said it was “deeply concerned that payment processors are making choices about which websites can and can’t accept payments or process donation.”

Human trafficking in Canada reached unprecedented highs between 2018 and 2019 according to the most recent data available from Statistics Canada.

In data released earlier this week, the agency reported that known instances of human trafficking have spiked dramatically.

“In 2019, police reported 511 human trafficking incidents, representing a rate of 1.4 incidents per 100,000 population—the highest number and rate reported since comparable data became available in 2009.” StatsCan wrote.

“Overall, both the number and rate of police-reported human trafficking incidents have been generally trending upward. The number of human trafficking incidents reported in 2019 marked a 44% increase from the previous year.”

Ontario was the epicentre of human trafficking in 2019, with 62% of known instances occurring in the province.

Out of the hundreds of known victims, 95% were women and 21% were girls under the age of 18.

It is notoriously difficult to achieve a guilty verdict on human trafficking charges in Canada. Since records began in 2009, the vast majority of human trafficking charges were either stayed, withdrawn, dismissed or discharged.

While reported instances continue to increase annually, the annual numbers are likely much higher.

The executive director of the London Abused Women’s Centre Megan Walker told the Globe & Mail that 481 women and girls sought help from the centre for trafficking from 2015 to 2015.

“We know that 500 is not actually the number,” she said.

The pandemic has also created an environment for greater rates of exploitation. Lockdowns have kept many vulnerable people isolated and have prevented people in dangerous situations from seeking help.

In February, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection reported that cases of online sexual exploitation of children have increased 88% over the past year.

A rural Canadian family doctor has stepped forward to blow the whistle on serious neurological adverse effects from the Moderna Messenger RNA COVID-19 vaccine he has witnessed in his First Nations indigenous patients.

Dr. Charles Hoffe, a family doctor in the village of Lytton in the Canadian Province of British Columbia, wrote an open letter to BC Provincial Health Officer Bonnie Henry voicing his concerns generated from his experiences treating patients suffering adverse reactions to the vaccine.

In an interview with independent Canadian media outlet Rebel News, which cannot be viewed on the outlet’s YouTube, but is available on Rumble, Hoffe said his community is composed of approximately two-thirds First Nations indigenous people and the only vaccine given to the community by the Canadian government is Moderna’s Messenger RNA variant.

“My concerns about it are just what I’ve seen in my own patients. You know, this is not some kind of theory, this is not a ‘what if.’ I’m just telling what I’ve seen,” he said in the interview.

Police outside of Calgary's Fairview Baptist Church

For a second straight day, it appears police in Alberta are set to take action against another church for violating the province's provincial health restrictions.

In a video captured and posted to Twitter by Rebel News' Kian Simone, two police vehicles can be seen outside of Fairview Baptist Church in Calgary.

Police have made several trips to Fairview Baptist following the decision made by its pastor, Tim Stephens, in late February to disregard Alberta's 15 per cent capacity restrictions placed on religious gatherings. At the time, Stephens remarked that he was defying the public health measures in part as a show of support for Edmonton-area Pastor James Coates of GraceLife Church, who was taken into custody following his decision not to abide by the same gathering rules.

Then, at the beginning of March, Pastor Stephens told Rebel News that “no amount of fine, no amount of jail time” would discourage him from holding worship. Calgary police would later escort public health enter Fairview Baptist on not one, but two different occasions during church services to collect information.

Pastor Stephens was then handed multiple tickets for violating Alberta's COVID-19 restrictions.

Alberta's fight against religious gatherings continues

After Pastor James Coates was released from Edmonton's Remand Centre and returned to GraceLife, which operate in defiance of restrictions, Alberta Health Services and the RCMP seized the building and erected a fence around the outside of it.

GraceLife Church then took to holding “underground” services.

Yesterday, a second pastor, Artur Pawlowski, was arrested by police for his repeated violations of provincial gathering restrictions. Pawlowski, along with his brother, were taken away by officers in an arrest on the highway following a lengthy feud with public health and enforced by police.

Guilbeault says C-10 could regulate popular social media accounts

Liberal Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault says the government’s proposed Bill C-10 may regulate social media accounts with large followings, despite previously claiming that user-generated content will not be affected.

Speaking on CTV’s Question Period, Guilbeault said that the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) may have the power to regulate accounts run by individuals if they have large followings or are “acting like broadcasters.”

“What we want to do, this law should apply to people who are broadcasters, or act like broadcasters. So if you have a YouTube channel with millions of viewers, and you’re deriving revenues from that, then at some point the CRTC will be asked to put a threshold,” he said.

“But we’re talking about broadcasters here, we’re not talking about everyday citizens posting stuff on their YouTube channel.”

Bill C-10 sparked national controversy after the Liberals passed an amendment which would broaden the scope of the bill to include regulating the content ordinary Canadians post on social media.

Guilbeault has since promised a new amendment which clarifies what kind of content is subject to CTRC regulation but does not guarantee all user-generated content is protected.

When pressed on what criteria will be used to determine if user-generated content is subject to regulation, Guilbeault says Canadians can trust “experts” in the bureaucracy like the CRTC to make rulings.

“This is why we have a body of experts like the CRTC to make those determinations, it’s not up to politicians to decide that,” he said on CTV’s Question Period.

“Governments come and go, but these experts are there and they will be making this determination, after having consultations with organizations of different opinions on the subject matter.”

Guilbeault and the Liberals have attacked opponents of C-10 viciously, calling opponents “extremists” and labelling the Conservatives as conspiracy theorists for noting the potential risks C-10 poses to free speech.

When does the left go too far?

University of Toronto clinical psychologist and public intellectual Dr. Jordan B. Peterson makes the point that our society needs a balance between left and right wing ideas. He also warns that both sides have the capacity to go too far.

This played out during the 20th century, when horrific acts of depravity characterized the far-right in Nazi Germany and the far-left under Stalin, Mao, Pol Pots and other communist dictators.

Our society today is acutely aware when the right crosses the line, according to Petersen, but we have a blindspot for acknowledging when the left goes too far.

“We’ve kind of figured out when the right-wingers go too far. Right-wing identity politics devolves into claims of ethnic and racial superiority,” said Peterson in a 2018 interview.

“When do the left wingers go too far? Oh we don’t know. Well, first of all we certainly know that they can go too far,” said Peterson, noting that those who ignore the far-left are either “woefully ignorant or you’re willfully blind.”

A perfect example of the blindspot for left-wing extremism appears to be the case in the Trudeau government’s compiling of Canada’s list of banned terrorist entities.

A government document obtained by True North shows that the Department of Public Safety did not provide any records whatsoever to the Minister on a long list of Antifa-affiliated groups who operate in Canada — this despite a long rap sheet of violence and incitement — when compiling its terror watch list.

Antifa openly calls for violence, although they disguise it in Orwellian language by calling it “direct action” or “self-defense.” Their violent rhetoric is given a platform by left-leaning journalists who treat them with kid gloves, give them fawning news coverage and downplay their intentions by calling them “counter-protestors” and “anti-fascists.”

In reality, Antifa operatives act like the fascists they claim to oppose. They dawn black masks to conceal their identities and have engaged in rioting, looting, arson, assault and even murder in cities throughout North America and Europe.

Canadian British journalist Chris Tomlinson has been covering Antifa for years and documenting their terrorists tactics. Last year, he reported on an Antifa guidebook that gave instructions on building bombs, sabotaging infrastructure and evading the police.

Here in Canada, Antifa and its affiliated groups have been implicated in a wide range of criminal activists, including bombings, assaulting police officers, destroying private property and uttering threats.

One of the groups listed in True North’s information request was Resistance Internationaliste, which claimed responsibility for a number of bombings between 2004 and 2010, with targets including an oil and gas executive in Montreal and a Canadian Forces recruitment centre in Trois-Rivieres.

Another group, Hamilton Against Fascism, has been involved in a number of violent attacks that have led to many arrests. In late 2018, ring-leader Cedar Hopperton pleaded guilty to mischief over $5,000 and counseling to commit mischief after he led a riot that caused significant property damage.

Yet neither of these groups were at all mentioned in the Public Safety documents.

Herein lies the double standard.

Conservatives routinely condemn and disavow violent groups who subscribe to right-wing ideas, but Liberal and NDP politicians are rarely if ever asked to condemn left-wing violence. This allows violent groups like Antifa to act with impunity.

Earlier this year, the Trudeau government added 13 new extremist groups to the Criminal Code list of terrorist entities. The list included a number of groups that purport to operate on the far right, including neo-Nazi groups and the Proud Boys. A new section dedicated to “right wing extremism” was added to Public Safety’s report on the terrorist threat to Canada.

Meanwhile, there is no reference to Antifa or left-wing extremists associated with urban rioting and bombings. The term “left” appears zero times.

If the Trudeau government sincerely wants to crack down on domestic rioters and “ideologically-motivated violent extremism,” it absolutely must acknowledge that these groups exist on both sides of the ideological divide.

Instead, as the True North report shows, the feds are completely ignoring left-wing violence. As Dr. Peterson warns, Trudeau and company are either woefully ignorant or willfully blind.
