2015f2 (1)  No.11684600[Watch Thread][Show All Posts]

From previous thread 11683476, an anon made an interesting post correlating the wearing of neckties with the mask of today's COVID-19 times.

This reminded me of something I read before about ties.

Neckties and even belts were started as a symbols during the religious crusades. Turks, Moors, and other "anti-christian" leaders would make their conquered servants and their families wear a belt and/or neckties to signal to all others that they were subservient and owned by their masters.

When I still had an office attire job I had to wear them. After learning their origins I thought about that every time I had to put them on.
