Mike Johnson to release 40,000 hours of Jan. 6 footage
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Friday announced the public release of more than 40,000 hours of Capitol security footage from Jan. 6, 2021.
Why it matters: The move meets a key demand of the Republicans' right flank as conservatives simmer at Johnson for passing a stopgap spending bill along bipartisan lines.
What they're saying: "Today, we will begin immediately posting video on a public website and move as quickly as possible to add to the website nearly all of the footage, more than 40,000 hours," Johnson said.
Johnson said the decision will "provide millions of Americans, criminal defendants, public interest organizations, and the media an ability to see for themselves what happened that day, rather than having to rely upon the interpretation of a small group of government officials."
Private citizens' faces will be blurred to "avoid any persons from being targeted for retaliation," Johnson said.
The details: Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), the chair of the House Administration Committee's oversight subcommittee, which oversees the footage, said the footage will be available on a page on the panel's website.
After the initial tranche of around 90 hours of footage, the panel "will continue to populate the viewing room with additional footage for public view," Loudermilk said in a statement.
Johnson's office said the remaining footage will be posted in waves over the next several months.

Stacey Abrams’ brother-in-law arrested in Tampa for human trafficking, attacking teen: police
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The brother-in-law of former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who was once exonerated of sexually assaulting two women, is back behind bars over allegations of human trafficking, according to Tampa authorities.
Tampa police said they arrested Jimmie Gardner, 57, Friday for allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a 16-year-old girl.
A release from the Tampa Police Department stated Gardner met the minor at 1:43 a.m. and invited her to his room at the Renaissance Hotel at International Plaza.
The girl accepted his invitation, and when she got there, he allegedly offered her money for sex, police said.
“The victim initially agreed but later told Gardner that she no longer wanted to engage and he became angry,” the release said. “Gardner advised the victim that she needed to leave his hotel room. The two got involved in a verbal altercation that escalated to a physical dispute
after Gardner placed his hands around the victim’s neck, impeding her breathing. After the dispute, Gardner left the hotel room, and the victim called 911.”
When officers arrived, Gardner had already left the hotel, but they found the victim at the scene, according to police.
Meanwhile, police said Gardner reported to the Tampa Police District 1 Office. He was arrested on charges of human trafficking for commercial sexual activity (victim less than 18), lewd or lascivious touching of minor 16 or 17 years of age by person 24 years of age or older, and a misdemeanor count of battery.
According to the Office of the State Attorney of the 13th Judicial Circuit, Gardner was previously convicted in 1987 for the sexual assault of two women in West Virginia, but he was exonerated in 2016, 27 years later. Two years after his release, he married federal judge Leslie Abrams Gardner.
“Everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence. Our attorneys will prosecute this case as we would any other offender who is alleged to have committed these crimes. We take these charges very seriously,” State Attorney Suzy Lopez said.
Officials said Gardner, who was once drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1984, now “works as a motivational speaker and emotional intelligence trainer for students and people who were formerly incarcerated” in Georgia.

For a couple of years people have been using psyops techniques against me and my family.
They brought in family to run it and tricked them into thinking it was helping.
They tricked my neighbours into hating eachother.
They tricked emergency services and the police into using this network to do surveillance and conduct operations in Canada.
They beamed images and videos into our minds.
Awful awful images including gore.
This also included beaming porno into childrens heads and making Pennywise appear to multiple children in a Christian school my daughter went to.
I got sent to a mental hospital by my wife who still does not believe what I've said to her.
Many of them still trust what they hear through this reality distortion field.
I lost my friends.. my family has been torn apart.. I've lost multiple jobs and now my money all taken today.
I paid dearly to be here but it was and is still an honor to have been amongst some of the best that there is in the fight against the worst there is.
If we were not effective, they wouldn't have attacked us.
Keep your eye on the ball.
Don't play the game.
This isn't a game.
It's Biblical.

A mainstream journalist and close friend of John Podesta, who bragged about ‘debunking’ Pizzagate, has been arrested on a sickening slew of child rape charges.
Slade Sohmer, editor-in-chief at The Recount and friend of former Hillary Clinton campaign chair John Podesta, wasarrested last month for raping multiple toddlers and babies.
For those who missed the most explosive pedophilia exposé to-date, The People’s Voice broke the news back in 2016 that there was evidence of pedophile “code words” used in emails from John Podesta released by WikiLeaks.
Numerous emails from the Chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign incongruously referred to food items such as pasta, cheese pizza, and ice cream in ways the FBI warned are used as code-words by pedophiles.
Since then, despite the mainstream media attempting to downplay the story as a “conspiracy theory”, numerous mainstream journalists and figures connected to elite pedophiles have been arrested for the very crime they attempted to “debunk.”
According to investigative reporter Liz Crokin, one of the Slade Sohmer’s last posts before he was arrested is a retweet from fellow Pizagate denier Ben Collins:
Sohmer was celebrated by BuzzFeed for talking sexually with children.
Perhaps most damning is Slade Sohmer’s connection to John Podesta – the man at the center of the Pizzagate scandal.
As the Gateway Pundit reported, the former editor-in-chief of the far left news outlet, The Recount, Slade Sohmer was arrested for child sex crimes.
On October 17, during a search at Sohmer’s residence in Otis, the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force confiscated a phone containing hundreds of child pornography images and videos, as per an affidavit presented in court. Among the disturbing contents, a video allegedly recorded by Sohmer of a minor being raped was found, according to Berkshire Eagle.
Some of the photographs, more than 1,300, and videos in Sohmer’s collection show kids as young as 3 or 4 years old.
Along with the photos, police also found text messages that were reportedly sent by Sohmer and shared details on how to kidnap and rape a child. Those troubling conversations, according to Berkshire Assistant District Attorney Marianne Shelvey, added “a level of extreme cruelty” to the case.
Shelvey told TheWrap that this is “one of the most egregious cases” she’s ever seen.
Sohmer was released after posting a $100,000 cash bail with strict conditions that prohibit any contact with minors and prohibit his use of the internet.

Ex-editor of left-leaning news site The Recount charged with child pornography
The former editor of a left-leaning political news site reportedly has been charged with possessing and distributing child pornography, according to authorities in Massachusetts.
Slade Sohmer, 44, who until last month was editor-in-chief of the video-driven news site The Recount, was released on $100,000 bail on Monday after he was charged in Massachusetts court with possessing and disseminating “hundreds of child pornography images and videos,” according to The Berkshire Eagle.
Sohmer — who also has worked as a camp counselor for a New York City-based nonprofit — was arrested at his home in Otis, Mass. on Friday, weeks after law enforcement officials confiscated his electronic devices after obtaining a search warrant, the newspaper reported.
He has pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of dissemination of child pornography.
If convicted, Sohmer faces minimum mandatory sentences of 10 years in state prison if convicted of dissemination of child pornography and five years if convicted of possession of child pornography.

GOP House Ethics Chair Pushes To Oust Rep. Santos From Congress

The GOP chairman of the House Ethics Committee has filed a new resolution to expel Representative George Santos from Congress after “substantial evidence” was released that allegedly shows Santos committed campaign fraud and theft.
House Ethics Chairman Michael Guest, a Mississippi Republican, introduced a resolution on Friday, stating that the evidence uncovered during the committee’s investigation is more than enough to justify punishment, with expulsion being the most appropriate response.
The resolution won’t be put to a vote until after the House returns from its Thanksgiving recess on November 28th.
While Santos (R-N.Y.) has weathered previous attempts to remove him from the House, there is a growing momentum for this latest expulsion effort. Several Republicans, who had not previously supported expulsion, now indicate their intention to vote in favor following the ethics investigation.
The resolution comes a day after the committee released the 56-page report from the investigation.
The Ethics Committee’s report revealed additional instances of “uncharged and unlawful conduct” by Santos, extending beyond the existing criminal allegations. These new findings would prompt an immediate referral of the allegations to the Justice Department for further investigation.
The committee’s conclusion asserts that Santos aimed to exploit every facet of his House candidacy for personal financial gain through fraudulent means.
Despite only being in Congress since January, Santos declared he won’t seek re-election after the committee’s report. Santos has denounced the investigation as a “politicized smear,” and has pleaded not guilty to 23 federal charges.
These charges include allegations of fraud related to COVID-19 unemployment benefits, misusing campaign funds, and providing false information about his personal finances on House disclosure reports.
In early November, a Republican-led attempt to expel Santos fell short. Some lawmakers expressed reservations about expelling a member amid an ongoing legal battle without a criminal conviction. Prior to the vote, Santos defended his right to “the presumption of innocence.”
Back in May, the House voted to refer a Democrat-led resolution to expel Santos to the Ethics Committee.

The board of directors of OpenAI, Inc., the 501(c)(3) that acts as the overall governing body for all OpenAI activities, today announced that Sam Altman will depart as CEO and leave the board of directors. Mira Murati, the company’s chief technology officer, will serve as interim CEO, effective immediately.
A member of OpenAI’s leadership team for five years, Mira has played a critical role in OpenAI’s evolution into a global AI leader. She brings a unique skill set, understanding of the company’s values, operations, and business, and already leads the company’s research, product, and safety functions. Given her long tenure and close engagement with all aspects of the company, including her experience in AI governance and policy, the board believes she is uniquely qualified for the role and anticipates a seamless transition while it conducts a formal search for a permanent CEO.
Mr. Altman’s departure follows a deliberative review process by the board, which concluded that he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities. The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI.
In a statement, the board of directors said: “OpenAI was deliberately structured to advance our mission: to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all humanity. The board remains fully committed to serving this mission. We are grateful for Sam’s many contributions to the founding and growth of OpenAI. At the same time, we believe new leadership is necessary as we move forward. As the leader of the company’s research, product, and safety functions, Mira is exceptionally qualified to step into the role of interim CEO. We have the utmost confidence in her ability to lead OpenAI during this transition period.”
OpenAI’s board of directors consists of OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, independent directors Quora CEO Adam D’Angelo, technology entrepreneur Tasha McCauley, and Georgetown Center for Security and Emerging Technology’s Helen Toner.
As a part of this transition, Greg Brockman will be stepping down as chairman of the board and will remain in his role at the company, reporting to the CEO.
OpenAI was founded as a non-profit in 2015 with the core mission of ensuring that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. In 2019, OpenAI restructured to ensure that the company could raise capital in pursuit of this mission, while preserving the nonprofit's mission, governance, and oversight. The majority of the board is independent, and the independent directors do not hold equity in OpenAI. While the company has experienced dramatic growth, it remains the fundamental governance responsibility of the board to advance OpenAI’s mission and preserve the principles of its Charter.

This revelation follows an announcement made by Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., during an interview on Sirius XM’s “The Wilkow Majority” on Thursday.
Gaetz shared that the footage will be made available through a special website, enabling any member of the public to view the videos.
‘“The way that the Jan. 6 tapes will be released will be through a website where any member of the public can go and observe the videos that are being released,” Gaetz said.
“My expectation is they’re going to be released in tranches and that the first tranche of the Johnson tapes to be released will be in days, not weeks,” he added.

Gardner, 57, was taken into custody by Tampa Police after a 16-year-old victim reported that she had been coerced into sexual acts and physically assaulted by Gardner at the Renaissance Hotel at International Plaza.
The Tampa Police Department detailed the arrest in a recent press release, stating that the incident occurred in the early hours of November 17, 2023.
According to the victim’s account, Gardner invited her to his hotel room and offered her money for sexual acts. The situation escalated when the victim refused, leading to a physical altercation where Gardner allegedly choked her.

In an exclusive excerpt of the book obtained by DailyMail.com, Greene says the Freedom Caucus held a vote to remove her on June 23, 2023 - after many members had already hopped on flights home for the week and when she was not there to 'defend herself.'
Later on the House floor during the final votes of the week, 'not one single HFC member came up to me to tell me,' she said. 'I found out about their vote on Twitter.'
Freedom Caucus Chair Scott Perry said at the time he had tried to reach Greene to inform her of the vote, but 'I did not have one single call or text from Scott Perry,' says Greene.

Greene had just introduced impeachment articles against President Biden. She asked the Freedom Caucus and Boebert to co-sponsor those articles, but Boebert instead introduced her own.
'She told leadership that she had to do it to help her end-of-quarter fundraising,' Greene writes.
Boebert's 2024 challenger, Democrat Adam Frisch, dramatically outraised her in the third quarter: $3.4 million to $854,000.
'I told the media how she had copied my articles of impeachment,' Greene goes on.
'Lauren walked up to me on the House floor, demandingI clarify the comments I had made to the press, at which point I called her a“little b***h” to her face. After I told her what I thought of her, I told Lauren to shut up.'
The pair of firebrand right-wing women both came to Congress in 2021, but Greene bristles at any comparison of the two.
'The only similarity between us is our voting records,' she says. 'We're actually extremely different types of people.'
'She's a serial liar,' Greene adds. 'She's lied about missing votes ... she got caught vaping in front of a pregnant woman and groping her date in a public movie theater, then she got caught lying about that and she also lied about the situation with me.'
In September, Boebert was filmed lashing out at theater staff after being booted from a Beetlejuice performance for singing along - with staff claiming she also vaped and took photos during the performance.
Between Greene and the Freedom Caucus, there's no love lost.
'I think I'm better off being a free agent without the Freedom Caucus, who I find unfortunately to be hypocrites a lot of the time.'
'Buck is more interested in trying out with interviews for CNN than he is in working hard in Congress and being a real conservative, but Freedom Caucus keeps people like Ken Buck,' she goes on, continuing to reflect on her removal from the caucus of which she was once the most visible face.
'I'm not exactly sure why they did it.'
The book spans the entirety of her congressional career with highlights from January 6 when she says Democrats were 'hysterical' and Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La., offered to save her from rioters because he had a gun on the House floor.
She bashes out-of-shape and elderly members of Congress trying to escape rioters who were swarming the floor: 'Just imagine Jerry Nadler trying to run for safety!'
She talks of getting kicked off committees under Democrats in 2021 and how she instead tried to make an impact by forcing recorded votes rather than voice votes which delayed the passing of Democrat-led legislation - only to be chastised by senior Republicans who did not want to waste their time.
The Republican was kicked off all her committees by Democrats - and 11 Republicans - in 2021 for her previous racist and pro-conspiracy theory statements.
She apologized later for her comments, saying on the House floor they 'do not represent' her.
Greene says she wrote the book herself to retell her experience in Congress in her own words.
'Ever since I entered Congress in January of 2021, the media has basically created a character of me that doesn't exist,' she said. 'Some people call me, like, the notorious MTG.'
'Ever since I became that person, I've really wanted to tell the real stories and get my own policies and views out there.'
As for her future ambitions, Greene is keeping coy. She said she hasn't heard much from former President Donald Trump, despite their regular conversations, about who he might pick as his running mate.
'I will serve President Trump at any capacity that that he would like for me to serve in,' she said. 'But right now, I'm very dedicated to my district.'

The Justice Ministry has lodged a lawsuit seeking to designate the “international LGBT movement” an extremist group
The Russian Justice Ministry said Friday it has filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court to label the “international LGBT public movement” as extremist and to outlaw its operations in the country.
In a statement posted on its website, the ministry argued that “the LGBT movement” has been engaged in various activities that qualify it as an “extremist group.” Specifically, it has been sowing “social and religious discord,” the ministry stated.
It was not immediately clear exactly which groups the potential ban would affect and whether the ‘extremist’ designation would have any consequences for LGBT ideology itself, becoming the basis to take action against various public organizations.
In Russia, the largest such public organization is the so-called ‘Russian LGBT network,’ a civic platform created in the mid-2000s, which brings together various regional groups advocating the rights of sexual minorities.
The network, which two years ago was labeled a “foreign agent,” is an internationally-recognized entity and is a part of LIGA – the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association – a major Switzerland-based NGO promoting gay rights and active since the 1970s.
Over the past few years, Russia hasgradually tightened its legislation aimed at curbing the spread of the “LGBT ideology.” In 2013, it outlawed “LGBTQ propaganda” deemed to be aimed at minors. The ban was reinforced last December, when legislation introducing hefty fines for anyone found guilty of promoting “non-traditional sexual relations,” pedophilia, and transgenderism, among minors and adults alike, was adopted.

Another Codepink stalwart, Cynthia Papermaster, said they were 'libelous, utter garbage.'
'We are a feminist anti-militarism and peace activist group, and I imagine there are those benefitting from the billions spent on militarism and war who want to hurt our efforts,' she told DailyMail.com.
But when pressed on human rights issues that Codepink members once discussed frankly, Papermaster appeared to go soft on Beijing.
The group in the past vehemently bashed China's treatment of its mostly-Muslim Uyghur minority.
When asked, Papermaster said she could not 'recall a Codepink campaign or stance on the Uyghurs.'
'Our campaign is "China is Not Our Enemy",' she said.
This was 'in light of the saber-rattling and consequent harm to Chinese Americans resulting from anti-Chinese sentiment,' she added.
DailyMail.com pressed Papermaster on the mass detention of some one million Uyghurs in the northwestern province of Xinjiang, which involves forced sterilizations and other abuses.

A coalition of media outlets wrote Friday that the 2020 election trial for former President Trump should be broadcast.
A coalition of mainstream media outlets argued that the 2020 election trial against Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump should be televised live to bolster "public trust" and that the U.S. Constitution mandates it.
"Of all trials conducted throughout American history, this one needs the public trust that only a televised proceeding can foster. Because the Constitution allows—indeed requires—such access here, the Federal Rules cannot prohibit it," the lawyers for media organizations including the New York Times, CNN, and The Associated Press wrote on Friday in a court filing.
The coalition's lawyers wrote the media outlets are acting on "behalf of millions of Americans who have an unprecedented interest in observing—for themselves—the prosecution of former President Donald Trump" during the trial, which is scheduled to start in March 2024.
Federal rules have long stipulated that courts bar cameras from being inside courtrooms. During President Trump's arraignment in the Washington case, no cameras were allowed inside the building.
The media outlets' lawyers also appeared to criticize President Trump after he "characterized this action as bearing 'all the unfortunate badges of a trial in an authoritarian regime, lacking legitimacy or due process.'" The lawyers then claimed that this comment goes against "the very legitimacy of this proceeding" and "only underscores" the need for the American public to watch the trial.
Lawyers for the former president have filed court papers to have the case televised, too, saying that federal prosecutors led by special counsel Jack Smith want to "continue this travesty in darkness" and that "President Trump calls for sunlight." If the trial is carried out without cameras, his lawyers said, the court runs a "high risk" of undermining the public's trust in the U.S. justice system.

During a campaign event in New Hampshire last week, President Trump told a crowd that he wants the trial to be watched by "everybody in the world."
"I want everybody to see all of the horrible things that took place, all of the horrible charges ... and let's let the public decide because I want cameras in every inch of that courthouse," he said.
But federal prosecutors recently objected to requests to have the trial televised, claiming it would turn it into a political circus.
"He desires instead to create a carnival atmosphere from which he hopes to profit by distracting, like many fraud defendants try to do, from the charges against him," Mr. Smith's team said in a legal brief to U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan.
Local and federal rules bar "the relief the Applicants seek" to allow cameras in the courtroom, prosecutors wrote, adding that attempts to overturn such rules have been rejected many times by courts in the past. The court should deny the applications, they wrote.
“Paired with the ever-increasing acrimony in public discourse, witnesses and others who appear on video may be subjected to threats and harassment,” Mr. Smith’s team argued. “Even the knowledge that their images will circulate on social media may temper a witness’s initial testimony.”
Media organizations, prosecutors argued, are certainly free to lobby the Judicial Conference to change its anti-broadcast rule, as, indeed, the media coalition in the Trump case has done. But Mr. Smith said there’s no basis for Judge Chutkan to disregard a recently reaffirmed policy that has never been deemed constitutionally invalid.
Media coalition lawyers wrote the government’s brief fails to acknowledge that state courts across the country have now concluded that criminal trials can be televised without compromising the fairness of the proceedings.
“Camera technology is so unobtrusive now that, in the many states and federal civil courts that actually allow them, people hardly notice,” the lawyers said. “As far as grandstanding—whatever that means—for generations judges have successfully used the host of tools at their disposal to control any inappropriate behavior.”
Judge Chutkan, an Obama appointee, is expected to make a ruling on the motions. However, she has not set a date for her decision.
President Trump is facing a four-count indictment that alleges he participated in a conspiracy "to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election by using knowingly false claims of election fraud to obstruct the government function by which those results are collected, counted and certified." He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, saying the case is part of a longstanding attempt to harm his campaign.
Separately, President Trump's lawyers this week filed a motion to pause the election case while a judge considers whether he has presidential immunity. They noted that a range of other public officials, including police officers, members of Congress, and corrections officers, have qualified immunity and can obtain “stays of discovery and of other pre-trial proceedings when they assert official immunity, pending a final resolution of those asserted claims of immunity.”
“The prosecution contends that President Trump should be the only official in America who is not entitled to such consideration,” his wrote, adding that he should have the same rights as other officials regarding immunity claims.

The Fight For Free Speech: YAF & The Judiciary Committee Hearing
On Wednesday, November 8th, the House Judiciary Committee held a formal public hearing to expose the depths of free speech suppression on college campuses. Colleges are supposed to be places where students are taught HOW to think, not WHAT to think, but I guess university administrations missed that memo.
This hearing couldn't have come at a better time as the landscape on college campuses is showcasing a concerning trend. According to polling from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, 47% of adults say liberals have “a lot” of freedom to express their views on college campuses, while just 20% said the same of conservatives.
And this isn't just a few leftist students being creatively rebellious against their conservative peers either, this is a top-down issue coming straight from administrators.
