Tesla made up most of the 807 automated-related vehicle crashes, but Tesla's Model X, S, 3 and Y were in the top ten best-selling electric vehicles for 2022.
Tesla's autopilot feature is being accused of being responsible for 17 fatalities and more than 700 crashes, far more than previously reported.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration last June released a partial report showing that Teslas accounted for three deaths linked to the vehicle's autopilot technology. Federal data reviewed by The Washington Post on Saturday reveals that Tesla's autopilot was actually responsible for 17 deaths and 736 crashes.
Tesla made up most of the 807 automated-related vehicle crashes, but Tesla's Model X, S, 3 and Y, all of which include some form of autopilot, were in the top ten best-selling electric vehicles for 2022, per technology outlet Eletrek.
The fatal crashes reveal patterns, per the Post's analysis. For example, four involved a motorcycle and in another, an emergency vehicle was involved.
Highway Safety Administration spokeswoman Veronica Morales said her agency "has an active investigation into Tesla Autopilot, including Full-Self Driving" and that "all advanced driver assistance systems require the human driver to be in control and fully engaged in the driving task at all times."
Neither Tesla nor CEO Elon Musk have not commented on the matter.

The Justice Department hit President Trump with a 37-count indictment on Thursday.

2) divide the anti-MAGA votes.
Just my opinion (& I realize most don’t agree with me), but this part of the show isn’t for us. We know who we are voting for! This is for all of those who DON’T know.

Biden is prosecuting Trump for retaining classified documents after he left office, something it has been discovered Biden did when he left the office of the Vice President in 2016, even though as VP he had no right to do so, whereas Trump did as president in 2020. Trump held onto 11 boxes, while Biden held onto more than 1800. Yet, the DOJ gives Biden a pass and seeks prison time for Trump. This is the first time in US history that the federal government has sought to criminally prosecute a former president.
And it's telling that it's being done at a time when Trump seeks the GOP nomination to again run for the office of the presidency and has Biden running scared in the polls. ...

Billionaire left-wing Democrat donor George Soros is handing control of his $25 billion financial empire to his younger son Alex who has vowed to pursue even more ultra-liberal causes.
The newly crowned 37-year-old heir told the Wall Street Journal he will broaden his father’s famously woke interests to include issues like voting and abortion rights as well as “gender equality.”
He also feels bound to inject himself into the day-to-day political affairs of the nation ahead of the 2024 election.
“I’m more political,” Alex observed when comparing himself to his Hungarian-born financier father.
He has already visited the White House 17 times in just over a year and met with big-name Democrats, as Breitbart News reported.
He also recently tweeted a picture of himself with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Open Society Foundations, the Soros family non-profit, currently directs about $1.5 billion a year to causes all around the planet.
The young man’s profile on the Open Society website outlines he is also “the founding chair of Bend the Arc Jewish Action, and sits on the boards of Bard College, the Center for Jewish History, Central European University, the European Council on Foreign Relations, and International Crisis Group.”
The Soros scion told the outlet he worried about the possibility of Donald Trump returning to the White House — suggesting the family will contribute greatly to Democrats in the 2024 presidential election.
As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it, too,” he said.
During the interview, Alex reportedly urged Democratic figures to be clearer on delivering their messages while being “more patriotic and inclusive” to win the trust of voters.
As Breitbart News has chronicled previously, Soros-backed organizations funneled millions of dollars to organizations dedicated to advocating for mass immigration and amnesty for illegal immigrants, organizations helping illegal aliens evade deportation from the United States, and organizations that work to normalize and legalize prostitution.

Special Counsel Charging Trump Once Had Conviction Overturned by Unanimous Supreme Court

Jack Smith, the special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to handle the investigation into former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents, has a checkered legal past that includes a brutal smackdown by a unanimous U.S. Supreme Court.
According to the Western Journal, Smith — then head of the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Unit after being appointed by far-left AG Eric Holder — led the prosecution of then-Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell of Virginia, who was convicted on corruption charges in 2014.
In that case, the government argued that McConnell improperly took gifts from a political donor, but in 2016, as Politico reported, a unanimous Supreme Court ruled 8-0 to overturn the conviction. (Justice Antonin Scalia had passed away suddenly and then-President Barack Obama had nominated then-U.S. District Judge Merrick Garland to replace him, but that nomination was blocked).
In the high court’s ruling, Chief Justice John Roberts shredded Smith’s prosecution for relying on a “boundless” definition of what constituted corruption.
“The decision from the eight-justice court could make it tougher for prosecutors to prove corruption cases against politicians in cases where there is no proof of an explicit agreement linking a campaign donation or gift to a contract, grant or vote,” Politico’s Josh Gerstein wrote at the time. “The court’s opinion, written by Chief Justice John Roberts, rejected the government’s position that simply agreeing to meet with someone on account of such largesse could be enough to constitute an official act that could trigger a corruption conviction.”
“There is no doubt that this case is distasteful; it may be worse than that. But our concern is not with tawdry tales of Ferraris, Rolexes, and ball gowns. It is instead with the broader legal implications of the Government’s boundless interpretation of the federal bribery statute,” Roberts wrote in the ruling.
“A more limited interpretation of the term ‘official act’ leaves ample room for prosecuting corruption, while comporting with the text of the statute and the precedent of this Court.”
Meanwhile, there are other disturbingly political aspects to Smith. For one, his wife produced a hagiography of Michelle Obama for Netflix:
The New York Post reported: “Katy Chevigny is credited as a producer on ‘Becoming,’ a 2020 documentary about Obama, and Federal Election Commission records show that she donated $2,000 in support of Biden’s presidential run that same year.”
The Post added that Smith’s wife “also worked on the 2018 documentary titled ‘Dark Money.’ The film is described as a ‘political thriller’ that ‘takes viewers to Montana – a front line in the fight to preserve fair elections nationwide – to follow an intrepid local journalist working to expose the real-life impact of the US Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.’”
The Western Journal explained:
Citizens United v. FEC was a landmark Supreme Court case which held that prohibitions on independent expenditures by corporations or private groups in elections was an unconstitutional breach of the First Amendment’s right to free expression.
On Thursday, Smith charged the former president with 37 counts related to his handling of classified documents. If he is found guilty on all counts, Trump — who is Joe Biden’s chief rival in next year’s presidential election — reportedly faces decades in prison.
According to the indictment, Trump allegedly showed classified documents to a number of people who did not have the proper security clearances on at least two separate occasions. The DOJ alleges that both instances took place at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, N.J.
“We have one set of laws in this country, and they apply to everyone,” Smith said in announcing the charges last week. “My office will seek a speedy trial in this matter, consistent with the public interest and the rights of the accused.”
“It is very important for me to note that the defendant, in this case, must be presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. To that end, my office will seek a speedy trial in this matter.”

CAIRO, June 11 (Reuters) - Three British tourists were missing and 12 had been rescued after a motor boat caught fire on Sunday off the Egyptian Red Sea coast, Egyptian officials and security sources said.
The survivors were brought to safety in the nearby diving resort of Marsa Shagra, about 21km (13 miles) north of the town of Marsa Alam, along with 12 Egyptian crew and guides, according to a statement from the Red Sea State governor's office and two security sources.
The fire was caused by an electrical short circuit on the boat, which was named Hurricane and had been on a trip since June 6 in an area just north of Marsa Alam, the statement said.
Images posted on social media showed a white motor yacht with the same name on fire at sea, with thick smoke billowing into the sky.
"We saw smoke from the boat, it was around 9km from the beach," said Ahmed Maher, a diving manager at Marsa Shagra village. "A nearby boat rescued them and dropped them off."
Britain's Foreign Office said it was in contact with local authorities about the incident and supporting nationals involved.

Old case over audio tapes in Bill Clinton's sock drawer could impact Mar-a-Lago search dispute
Judge ruled in 2012 that a president's discretion to declare records "personal" is far-reaching and mostly unchallengeable.
When it comes to the National Archives, history has a funny way of repeating itself. And legal experts say a decade-old case over audio tapes that Bill Clinton once kept in his sock drawer may have significant impact over the FBI search of Melania Trump's closet and Donald Trump's personal office.
The case in question is titled Judicial Watch v. National Archives and Records Administration and it involved an effort by the conservative watchdog to compel the Archives to forcibly seize hours of audio recordings that Clinton made during his presidency with historian Taylor Branch.
For pop culture, the case is most memorable for the revelation that the 42nd president for a time stored the audio tapes in his sock drawer at the White House. The tapes became the focal point of a 2009 book that Branch wrote.
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson in Washington D.C. ultimately rejected Judicial Watch's suit by concluding there was no provision in the Presidential Records Act to force the National Archives to seize records from a former president.
But Jackson's ruling — along with the Justice Department's arguments that preceded it — made some other sweeping declarations that have more direct relevance to the FBI's decision to seize handwritten notes and files Trump took with him to Mar-a-Lago. The most relevant is that a president's discretion on what are personal vs. official records is far-reaching and solely his, as is his ability to declassify or destroy records at will.
"Under the statutory scheme established by the PRA, the decision to segregate personal materials from Presidential records is made by the President, during the President's term and in his sole discretion," Jackson wrote in her March 2012 decision, which was never appealed.
"Since the President is completely entrusted with the management and even the disposal of Presidential records during his time in office, it would be difficult for this Court to conclude that Congress intended that he would have less authority to do what he pleases with what he considers to be his personal records," she added.

The judge noted a president could destroy any record he wanted during his tenure and his only responsibility was to inform the Archives.
As to whether records a president concluded were personal can be forcibly seized after he leaves office, the court concluded it was unreasonable to force NARA to go get the tapes
"Because the audiotapes are not physically in the government's possession, defendant submits that it would be required to seize them directly from President Clinton in order to assume custody and control over them," Jackson noted. "Defendant considers this to be an 'extraordinary request' that is unfounded, contrary to the PRA's express terms, and contrary to traditional principles of administrative law. The Court agrees."

Former President Donald Trump said Saturday that he will not abandon his campaign for the White House, even if he is convicted on charges related to his handling of classified documents.
Last week, Trump was indicted on 37 counts by the Justice Department including 31 counts of “Willful Retention of National Defense Information,” and one count each of “Conspiracy to Obstruct Justice,” “Withholding a Document or Record,” “Corruptly Concealing a Document or Record,” “Concealing a Document in a Federal Investigation,” “Scheme to Conceal,” and “False Statements and Representations.”
With Trump already facing a trial on an indictment by the Manhattan district attorney related to payments made in the 2016 campaign, his interviewer asked him what he would do if the worst happens?
“I’ll never leave,” Trump said, according to Politico.
“Look, if I would have left, I would have left prior to the original race in 2016. That was a rough one. In theory that was not doable,” he said.
Existing laws do not bar Trump from running for the White House even with a conviction.
In the interview, Trump focused on the present, lashing out at special counsel Jack Smith and the Justice Department.
“These are thugs and degenerates who are after me,” he said.
Although the theoretical possibility exists that if Trump is elected president in 2024 he could pardon himself, he brushed the notion aside.
“I don’t think I’ll ever have to. I didn’t do anything wrong,” he said.
Although Trump said he would push on, he noted that the indictments are not what he would have wanted.
“Nobody wants to be indicted. I don’t care that my poll numbers went up by a lot. I don’t want to be indicted. I’ve never been indicted. I went through my whole life, now I get indicted every two months. It’s been political,” he said.
Trump attended events in Georgia and North Carolina Saturday and came out swinging in both.
“I stand before you today as the only candidate who has what it takes to smash this corrupt system and to truly drain the swamp and I’m the only one that they don’t want to do it,” Trump told North Carolina Republicans at their state convention, according to CNN.
“They launched witch hunt after witch hunt, and they just try to stop our movement,” he also said in North Carolina, according to Fox News. “They want to do anything they can to thwart the will of the American people. It’s called election interference. That’s what they’re doing now. And we’ve never seen it on a scale like this. The other side is downright crooked.”
Trump told Georgia Republicans his indictment was “a sad day for the country” and added, “Our people are angry,” according to CNN.
A CBS News poll conducted by YouGov on Friday and Saturday indicated that Trump’s supporters are also loyal.
According to the poll, 61 percent of likely GOP primary voters said the indictments did not change their opinion of Trump, and 80 percent said even if Trump is convicted, he should be able to be president. The poll had a margin of error of 6.6 percentage points.

Tesla's autopilot accused of causing 17 fatalities, 736 crashes, far more than previously reported
Tesla made up most of the 807 automated-related vehicle crashes, but Tesla's Model X, S, 3 and Y were in the top ten best-selling electric vehicles for 2022.
Tesla's autopilot feature is being accused of being responsible for 17 fatalities and more than 700 crashes, far more than previously reported.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration last June released a partial report showing that Teslas accounted for three deaths linked to the vehicle's autopilot technology. Federal data reviewed by The Washington Post on Saturday reveals that Tesla's autopilot was actually responsible for 17 deaths and 736 crashes.
Tesla made up most of the 807 automated-related vehicle crashes, but Tesla's Model X, S, 3 and Y, all of which include some form of autopilot, were in the top ten best-selling electric vehicles for 2022, per technology outlet Eletrek.
The fatal crashes reveal patterns, per the Post's analysis. For example, four involved a motorcycle and in another, an emergency vehicle was involved.
Highway Safety Administration spokeswoman Veronica Morales said her agency "has an active investigation into Tesla Autopilot, including Full-Self Driving" and that "all advanced driver assistance systems require the human driver to be in control and fully engaged in the driving task at all times."
Neither Tesla nor CEO Elon Musk have not commented on the matter.

Born in Königsberg, Kant's comprehensive and systematic works in epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, and aesthetics have made him one of the most influential figures in modern Western philosophy.
In his doctrine of transcendental idealism, Kant argued space and time are mere "forms of intuition" that structure all experience and that the objects of experience are mere "appearances". The nature of things as they are in themselves is unknowable to us. In an attempt to counter the philosophical doctrine of skepticism, he wrote the Critique of Pure Reason (1781/1787), his most well-known work.
