The explosion of childhood cancers correlates with the increase in vaccination schedules for children from the 1990s up to today. When you dig deep enough, you find that vaccine toxins disrupt cellular metabolism and could quite possibly be responsible for the surging rate of childhood cancer.

Police raid Andrew Tate’s home in Romania as new allegations emerge involving minors

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Masked police officers in Romania carried out fresh raids early Wednesday at the home of divisive internet influencer Andrew Tate, who is awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

Romania’s anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, said it was searching four homes in Bucharest and nearby Ilfov county, investigating allegations of human trafficking, the trafficking of minors, sexual intercourse with a minor, influencing statements and money laundering. The agency added that hearings will later be held at its headquarters.

Tate’s spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, said in response to the raids that “although the charges in the search warrant are not yet fully clarified, they include suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering” and added that his legal team is present. Petrescu did not address the allegations involving minors.

Dozens of police officers and forensic personnel were scouring Tate’s large property on the edge of the capital Bucharest. “During the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence,” DIICOT noted in its statement.

Night two of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) probably cannot go any worse for the wayward Democrat Party than night one did … but it just might.

On the second night at the “mostly peaceful” gathering of leftists in Chicago, Illinois, former President Barack Obama will return to the main stageand spotlight to give the keynote address at the end of the evening. His wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, will speak earlier in the evening. Interestingly,several Democrats are quite openly referring to Michelle Obama as their “dream candidate,” which means despite the hullabaloo from across the media that Vice President Kamala Harris is not in fact the “dream candidate” for the party. The Democrats are just kind of stuck with Harris, as they had no other options when they staged a coup against the guy who happens to be the sitting president of the United States who’s from their party President Joe Biden. It’s worth noting that they, perhaps conveniently perhaps not,shoved Biden in the trunk of the car at the end of the night well after primetimeon Monday night to hasten his march to being yesterday’s news.

Speaking of the media, cracks are beginning to emergeacross the establishment media when it comes to their close relationship with Democrats and particularly the Harris campaign.

=Several establishment reporters were critical of the DNC’s unfocused and unusually long and disjointed programmingon Monday evening. If the party does not sort out these issues by Tuesday, things could begin to get much worse for Harris and Democrats–and it is definitely something to watch as the evening shakes out.

But now that Biden is firmly squashed in history’s dustbin, Democrats will look forward to the next less than 80 days to election day on Nov. 5 and their efforts to try to make the presidential race competitive again. David Plouffe, one of Obama’s closest advisers who seems to be running things at what was the Biden campaign but is now the Harris campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, did an interview early on Tuesday with Axios where he said the battleground states have returned to the traditional fight like the nation saw in 2016 or 2020.But right after he said that, a new poll emerged out of Virginiashowing Republican candidate Donald Trump has again pulled into a statistical tie with Harris in the Old Dominion, flashing more warning signs for Democrats that Trump may be again expanding the map now that Harris’s sugar high has faded.

So again, the big picture this evening is a flash back to history in thegood ‘ole days for modern Democrats when Obama was president–which comesafter they crushed the inconvenient lump of a current president into history already–and a look at what might be the future when the other Obama might emerge in a future race for president, but not this year.

Of course, while this all happens, theDemocrats will continue to try to convince themselvesthat everything they know about Harris’s extremism and incompetence was actually a fantasy and that they do in fact have a shot at winning in November despite giant flashing warning signs emerging everywhere already less than a month into Harris’s nascent campaign. And they will try to do it while staying on schedule and not pissing everyone watching off by having pointless speeches drag on too long.

Fermi sees light with energies about a billion times what the human eye can see, and the map combines 12 years of Fermi observations. Sols 4277-4279: Getting Ready To Say Goodbye to the King!

It's time to move on from our “Kings Canyon” drill site, so today’s plan focused on our usual tidy up routine after a drill campaign.

First we need to dump out any material in the drill chambers, in an action called “RAGE” – this sounds aggressive but stands for “Rotation to Agitate Granules for Expulsion,” so it's more of a gentle turning than an angry shaking.

This ensures that the drill chambers won't spill later and we are ready for the next drill campaign – whenever we find a worthy target!

Mastcam will document the entire process, and then image the drill bit that was used, making sure it is still in good condition.

At that point, we are free to use the arm instruments again (no turret movements allowed while there is sample in the drill chamber).

So our contact science focuses today on the drill tailings, the pile of ground up rock generated by the drill action.

That pile has been sitting there for over two weeks, but luckily it's not too windy right now and the pile remained more or less intact.

MAHLI will image the drill hole and the tailings pile on the first afternoon, APXS will integrate on the tailings on the first night and then MAHLI will image the tailings again on the second day.

This post-retract image is just to confirm that APXS did not hit the pile of loose drill fines.

As APXS Science Planner today, I worked with RPs to pick out the spot we will focus on and to make sure that we are using the correct sequences to ensure safety of the instrument – but it's always nice to confirm that we didn’t hit the pile!

ChemCam has a suite of activities, from LIBS activities close to the rover, to “passive” (non destructive) activities and RMI images (which can be relatively near field or long distance).

LIBS on the bedrock target “Marck Lake” will be used to compared with the nearby Kings Canyon target and assess homogeneity across the drill block, while the passive observation of “Red Slate Mountain” will examine a large light toned block about 10 metres away from the rover.

ChemCam will also acquire a long distance RMI of loose blocks and boulders about 85 metres away, looking towards “Milestone Peak” (shown in the accompanying image).

APXS will acquire an overnight “atmospheric” measurement, looking at levels of argon as part of an ongoing campaign.

This is paired with ChemCam’s second passive measurement, this time of the sky. We also have monitoring of dust levels, with Mastcam taus of the atmosphere (which atmospheric scientist Alex Innanen talked about here), and a whole host of Navcam dust devil movies, and suprahorizon and zenith movies (which target different parts of the horizon). All of these … and DAN and REMS activities too – our environmental monitoring team is working hard as usual!

ChemCam has spent the last two weeks or so getting LIBS and passive measurements on “Sam Mack Meadow” - an area of darker toned, sometimes broken up rocks just outside of the current workspace. In fact, ChemCam is getting LIBS on two further targets there in this plan: “Horse Creek Spire” and the somewhat nodular “Kearsarge Pinnacles.” Mastcam will image all of the LIBS targets too.

There are some interesting textures here that APXS and MAHLI are keen to sample too, so our next drive is more of a bump to get close enough to allow contact science here too.

We will still be able to gaze on the King (Canyon) for another while, so I guess it's not really goodbye just yet!

Sols 4280-4281: Last Call at Kings Canyon

Curiosity successfully completed the drill sequence at the Kings Canyon site within the Gediz Vallis channel.

Today was a smooth planning day as we decided to stay put for sols 4280 and 4281 to obtain APXS data of the drill tailings (the crushed rock removed from the drill hole) before we reposition the rover nearby for our next set of observations.

The science team is eagerly plotting the rover’s next move and is looking forward to all the interesting targets along the route ahead!

ChemCam had a very busy day with multiple activities in the plan.

ChemCam LIBS will examine the chemistry of rocks at nearby “Cathedral Lake” and “Royce Lakes” to analyze the fresh surfaces that were recently broken by the weight of the rover driving over them.

Mastcam will provide their standard documentation images of these locations after the LIBS instrument zaps each target.

ChemCam planned two long distance RMI images and one passive RMI image to get a closer view of the diversity of rocks at Milestone Peak and the upper channel and the yardang unit - a white, wind-sculped rock that caps the mound in Gale crater.

In our current workspace, we planned a MAHLI image and will use the dust removal tool (DRT) to characterize the grain size of the light-toned rock near our drill location at “Gabbot Pass.”

Mastam has amassed a beautiful collection of mosaics at our current location and therefore included only one small Mastcam mosaic of the nearby Texoli butte that will provide context for a recently acquired ChemCam LD RMI image.

The environmental theme group planned surveys to search for dust devils as well as measurements to observe the amount of dust in the atmosphere.

Looking ahead, we will reposition the rover slightly to access “Fourth Recess Lake” to quantify its chemistry for comparison to past and future observations within the Gediz Vallis channel.

And after that, it’s McDonald Pass or bust!

The Ingenuity Mars Helicopter made history on August 19, 2021, when it completed the first powered, controlled flight on another planet, a feat that's been called a "Wright Brothers moment."

Originally designed as a technology demonstration to perform no more than five test flights over 30 days, Ingenuity quickly proved it was capable of even more than NASA imagined.

Its flights became longer, higher, faster, and more adventurous.

Ingenuity later took on another assignment as an operations demonstration to serve as an aerial scout to preview possible areas for the Perseverance rover to explore.

Over the course of its mission life, the helicopter completed 128.8 flying minutes, covering 10.5 miles (17.0 kilometers), and reaching altitudes as high as 78.7 feet (24.0 meters).

Ingenuity flew for the last time on January 18, 2024, and completed its mission on January 25, 2024, after nearly three years of aerial exploration and 72 historic flights.

Ingenuity’s triumph has paved the way for next-generation aerial vehicles to explore Mars and potentially, other space destinations.

The undeveloped property on Kennedy Space Center is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has waded into American politics once again, saying that he is worried about his safety if Donald Trump returns to the White House and that the left-wing Labour Party should openly support the campaign of Kamala Harris.

The far-left Mayor of London, who has a long history of public verbal spats with former President Donald Trump, said in an interview with the globalist New Statesman this week that he has personal fears of the Republican nominee being victorious in the presidential election in November.

“The last time we had a Trump presidency, as a matter of public record, there was a massive increase in hate crime towards me… I worry about what a second Trump presidency would mean for me and my family, but I’m not going to allow these people to cower me. It makes me even more determined to do my job,” Khan told the British news magazine.

Khan, one of the most powerful members of the Labour Party, broke ranks with the now-governing left-wing party to arguethat it should openly support Vice President Kamala Harris in the U.S. presidential race.

In light of the possibility of needing to negotiate with a second Trump administration, the new government of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has attempted to take a more neutral stance, while dispatching figures such as Foreign Secretary David Lammy to meet with Trump allies in Washington, including now running mate JD Vance.

It is unclear how successful such a rebrand will be given Lammy’s own history of criticising Trump, previously branding the American leader as a “woman-hating, neo-Nazi sympathising sociopath.”

Mayor Khan argued that the leftist party should abandon attempts to cover up its true preferences in the race, saying: “It’s obvious what my politics are. I’m a member of the Labour Party – we’re a social democratic party. I want the Democrats to win.

“It’s no secret many Labour Party members go and volunteer for the Democrats during presidential elections. We shouldn’t pretend otherwise. Many of my staffers helped all three: Obama, Clinton and Biden,” Khan said. (Isn't that illegal for the UK politicians interfering in US elections?)

“I’ve been so impressed with Tim Walz. It just shows the judgement that Kamala Harris has in relation to her choice for vice-president. Compare and contrast that with the choice made by the other guy, in JD Vance,” he added.

The far-left mayor rose to international attention through his feud with Trump, which began in earnest in 2017 when Khan demanded that the then-President be refused a state visit to the UK when he met with Queen Elizabeth II.

Khan argued that Trump should not be afforded the normal niceties granted to U.S. leaders because he used “xenophobia, racism, and ‘otherness’ as an electoral tactic,” asserting that Trump only cared about “White America.”

In turn, Trump branded the London Mayor as a “stone-cold loser” for failing to prevent the rise in knife crime in the British capital. Earlier this year, Mr Trump continued his critiques, saying that under Khan’s watch, London has become “no longer recognisable” because it has “opened its doors to jihad.”

My response to Dr.Mike Yeadon would be:

“NO, Ivermectin is not a violent anti-fertility drug”.

The peer reviewed literature doesn’t support such a statement and there is no real world evidence of this either, with Ivermectin used for 4 decades in Africa, India, Mexico, etc. (no fertility issues reported)

Dr.Yeadon’s logic on “depopulation” falls apart as well. Young reproductive age people are not taking Ivermectin.

I would argue that Big Pharma’s “War on Ivermectin” has been one of the most costly blunders in the entire Pharmaceutical Industry’s history, instead of being some clever 5D chess game to trap the unvaccinated.

Why is Ivermectin under attack now?

Millions of people are now learning about Ivermectin’s CANCER fighting capabilities and Ivermectin represents an existential threat to a multi $100 billion Cancer Drug Industry hell bent on bringing failed mRNA Vaccine technology onboard, to profit from millions of people suffering from Cancer and especially Pfizer and Moderna mRNA Induced Turbo Cancer.

Ivermectin also remains an existential threat to the rollout of new toxic mRNA Vaccines for Disease X, whether that Disease X is Influenza H5N1, Monkeypox or something else. They will lock us down and tell us that the new mRNA Vaccines are the “only way out of this Pandemic”.

It’s amazing how much hysteria one 5 minute clip can generate.

NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams arrived at the orbiting laboratory on June 6 aboard the Boeing Starliner after lifting off on June 5 from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

During Starliner’s flight to the space station, engineers noticed some of the spacecraft’s thrusters did not perform as expected and several leaks in Starliner’s helium system also were observed.

Engineering teams at NASA and Boeing have since conducted several thruster tests and in-depth data reviews to better understand the spacecraft.

While engineers work to resolve technical issues before Starliner’s return to Earth, the astronaut duo have been working with the Expedition 71 crew, performing scientific research and maintenance activities.

NASA now plans to conduct two reviews – a Program Control Board and an Agency Flight Readiness Review – before deciding how it will safely return Wilmore and Williams from the station.

NASA expects to decide on the path forward by the end of August.

What is NASA’s Boeing Crew Flight Test?

NASA’s Boeing Crew Flight Test launched on June 5, and is the first flight of the Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station with astronauts.

The flight test aims to prove the system is ready for rotational missions to the space station.

NASA wants two American spacecraft, in addition to the Roscosmos Soyuz spacecraft, capable of carrying astronauts to help ensure a permanent crew aboard the orbiting complex.

What are the goals of the Crew Flight Test?

This flight test aims to demonstrate Starliner’s ability to execute a six-month rotational mission to the space station.

The flight test objectives were developed to support NASA’s certification process and gather the performance data needed to evaluate readiness ahead of long-duration flights.

Why is the Crew Flight Test staying longer than planned aboard the space station?

During Starliner’s flight to the space station, some of the spacecraft’s thrusters did not perform as expected and several leaks in Starliner’s helium system were observed.

While the initial mission duration was planned for about a week, there is no rush to bring crew home, so NASA and Boeing are taking additional time to learn about the spacecraft.

This is a lesson learned from the space shuttle Columbia accident.

Our NASA and Boeing teams are poring over data from additional in-space and ground testing and analysis, providing mission managers data to make the best, safest decision on how and when to return crew home.

If there’s an emergency on the space station, how will Butch and Suni get home?

Starliner remains the primary option for Butch and Suni if an emergency occurs and they need to rapidly depart the station.

There is no urgent need to bring them home, and NASA is using the extra time to understand the spacecraft’s technical issues before deciding on a return plan.

How long could Butch and Suni stay on the space station if they don’t come home on Starliner?

If NASA decides to return Starliner uncrewed, Butch and Suni would remain aboard station until late-February 2025.

NASA would replan the agency’s SpaceX Crew-9 mission by launching only two crew members instead of four in late September.

Butch and Suni would then return to Earth after the regularly scheduled Crew-9 increment early next year.

Democratic congressman Bill Pascrell has died at the age of 87.

The New Jersey lawmaker served 28 years for the state's 9th congressional district in the House of Representatives and was hospitalized after an incident last week.

He recently spent 28 days in treatment and needed 'breathing assistance', but then suffered a setback which forced him back into a rehabilitation facility.

'It is with deep sadness that we announce that Bill Pascrell Jr., our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away this morning,' his family said on X.

'As our United States Representative, Bill fought to his last breath to return to the job he cherished and to the people he loved.

'Bill lived his entire life in Paterson and had an unwavering love for the city he grew up in and served. He is now at peace after a lifetime devoted to our great nation America.'

Pascrell had been hospitalized in July for respiratory issues and spent some time in intensive care. He had planned to run for reelection in the House.

The 14-term congressman had been discharged on August 7 but was readmitted to the hospital just four days later.

The fierce Trump critic was the lower chamber's second-oldest member behind Democrat Grace Napolitano of Texas, who is also 87. The oldest member of Congress is Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who turns 91 next month.

Pascrell is the second New Jersey Democrat to die while serving in the House this year, following Donald Payne, 65, who in April suffered a heart attack and later succumbed to complications.

County party leaders will now be able to hand-pick a new Democratic nominee to take on Republican Billy Prempeh, Pascrell's opponent in the last two cycles. Pascrell defeated Prempeh 55 to 42 in 2022.

Born January 25, 1937 in Paterson, New Jersey, Pascrell would go on to serve in the Army and become mayor of his hometown. After getting bachelor's and master's degrees at Fordham University, he taught history at high school and as an adjunct professor.

He got his start in politics in the late 1970s on the local school board and later as a member of the local community college's board of trustees.

He won election to the New Jersey General Assembly in 1987 and won the mayor's race a few years later. He held both seats at once for a time - a practice that was then commonplace in New Jersey - until he was elected to Congress in 1996.

Pascrell has been on the House Transportation and Infrastructure, Homeland Security, Budget and Small Business committees.Since 2007 he's held a spot on the powerful tax-writing committee Ways and Means where he led the charge for Trump's tax returns.

Fifty Republican members of Congress who are military veterans denounced Democratic vice presidential pick Tim Walz on Wednesday for having lied about his rank in the Army National Guard and retiring before a deployment to Afghanistan to pursue his political aspirations.

The House and Senate GOP lawmakers, led by Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.), a retired US Army staff sergeant who chairs Veterans and Military Families for Trump, blasted out an open letter to the Minnesota governor, asking him to correct the “egregious misrepresentations” about his military record.

“[Y]ou have lied your way through a political career launched on the foundation of a title you did not earn and combat deployments you did not take part in,” the former military service members in Congress charged.

“You have stated that you are ‘damn proud’ of your service, and like any American veteran, you should be,” they wrote. “But there is no honor in lying about the nature of your service.”

“Repeatedly claiming to be a ‘Retired Command Sergeant Major‘ when you did not complete the requirements was not honorable,” they went on. “Nor was it honorable to claim to carry weapons ‘in war’ when you had not served in war, and abandoning the men and women under your leadership just as they were getting ready to deploy was certainly not honorable either.”

“To be blunt, when you falsely claim military service that did not happen and abandon your post, you diminish the real sacrifices made by veterans who did serve in combat,” they said.

“Until you admit you lied to them, there is no way you can be trusted to serve as Vice President.”

Walz, 60, served in the Army National Guard for 24 years — but retired from his artillery battalion and abandoned more than 500 men under his command two months before it deployed to Iraq in 2005.

The early departure bumped him down a rank from command sergeant major to command master sergeant for not having completed a two-year commitment he had already signed onto, which involved some additional coursework.

Former brothers in arms — including the military chaplain of his unit — have called Walz cowardly for leaving to run for Congress in 2006 and accused him of “stolen valor” for repeatedly referencing his service record as part of his political career.

The Harris campaign claimed earlier this month that the two-term Minnesota governor “misspoke” during his first run for statewide office in 2018 about having carried “weapons of war … in war.”

Walz had earlier implied during his congressional races that he deployed to a combat zone such as Afghanistan, when in fact, he had deployed to Italy briefly as part of Operation Enduring Freedom before leaving the National Guard.

SBQuantum Announces New Projects with European Space Agency and Canadian Space Agency

SBQuantum, the first company developing quantum diamond magnetometers capable of providing accurate readings from space, today announces a pair of new contracts with leading government agencies in space exploration.

First, the company has been contracted by the European Space Agency (ESA) to evaluate the viability of its quantum diamond magnetometer technology in space.

ESA is assessing both the reliability and accuracy of SBQuantum’s sensor technology, as well as how these sensors could be deployed on a satellite in space for a range of applications.

The contract focuses on applications enriching human understanding of the Earth and its magnetic environment.

For instance, satellite-based magnetometers can be useful in monitoring magnetic storms, which can disrupt navigation and communications here on Earth.

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) has also selected SBQuantum, and will be testing the company’s magnetometer at an altitude of 40km as part of its STRATOS Program.

The testing will demonstrate the instrument’s ability to collect precise data in temperatures as low as -60 Celsius (-76 Fahrenheit) and low-pressure environments, while also being exposed to radiation.

Furthermore, this project will include a demonstration of magnetic field-based positioning (whose signal cannot be jammed) using a quantum diamond magnetometer, as opposed to relying on the heavy infrastructure of traditional GPS.

“These contracts are further evidence of the tremendous potential of the quantum diamond magnetometers we are commercializing at SBQuantum.

Years of investment, research and development are now beginning to pay off, as leading organizations in space exploration are acknowledging that our hardware has the potential to provide an important advantage over existing technologies.

Furthermore, these sensors can be deployed for a range of applications, and therefore provide significant value to the user at a fraction of the cost of the legacy technologies currently in use.

These contracts build the company’s existing momentum from the MagQuest Challenge, which is organized by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, an agency within the U.S. Department of Defence, in partnership with the NASA Tournament Lab.

SBQuantum is currently a finalist in that challenge, which will see its quantum magnetometer sent into space for testing.

The results of this testing will determine if this device is suitable to be used for mapping and monitoring the earth’s magnetic field moving forward.

Both the new contracts are being carried out over the summer.

Confirming the durability and accuracy of these devices will then also pave the way for additional space-based applications ranging from attitude control and guiding rovers on the surface of other planets, to mapping minerals under the surface of the moon and an array of other possibilities.

The sensors can easily be mounted on small cube satellites and launched into orbit at a nominal cost, making precise, detailed data about the earth’s magnetics and geophysics easily accessible to those stakeholders who require it for planning operations, mapping logistics or other relevant applications.

Astrophotographer captures Saturn vanishing behind the moon in mesmerizing photo

In the early hours of Wednesday morning (Aug. 21), the moon and Saturn pulled off quite the vanishing act, though it was rather shortlived.

Saturn appeared to abscond behind the moon for around an hour, in what is known as a "lunar occultation."

Countries with a good front-seat view of this act were Brazil, Portugal, Spain, France and the U.K., according to In-The-Sky.org.

If you weren't well placed to see the lunar occultation (or simply couldn't get out of bed this morning), you're in luck because photographer Josh Dury was up bright and early to capture the event from his location in Somerset, U.K.

"I have waited years to see a lunar occultation of Saturn.

What can be more majestic than one of the most famous planets of the solar system being obscured by the moon?" Dury told Space.com in an email.

Dury captured this photograph between 4:00 and 5:27 a.m. local time (BST) (11:00 p.m. EDT and 12:27 a.m. EDT).

The image consists of 30 sub-images merged into a single frame.

"From days of watching weather forecasts, I did consider travelling for this event.

However, I decided to stay local and see what I could get," Dury explained.

Despite the issues with the British weather, Dury successfully captured the occultation unfolding in the predawn sky.

"The beginning of the event was clear however [the] cloud grew in intensity throughout the event.

Therefore, I was only able to catch a few images, at the time of the third contact when Saturn emerged on the other side of the moon." Dury continued.

If you missed this stargazing sight, don't worry: there will be another lunar occultation of Saturn on Sept. 17, 2024, between 4:08 a.m. and 8:07 a.m. EDT (0808-1207 GMT).

The DNC’s 2024 platform endorses a bill, the US Citizenship Act, that would create a pathway for illegal aliens to become “lawful” voters, issuing IDs and Social Security numbers. The bill would empower the Department of Homeland Security secretary to “adjust the status of a lawful prospective immigrant to that of a lawful permanent resident.” To qualify, a foreign national must live as an illegal alien in the country for five years, without absences longer than 180 days. The bill would also allow deported illegals to return if they had lived in the United States for at least three years. Very few crimes would exclude an illegal alien from being made a permanent resident under the act.

The bill would make it illegal for businesses to take a job applicant’s citizenship status into account. As a result, employers could incur thousands of dollars in fines for “discrimination” if they refuse to hire an illegal alien.

FCC approves Starlink first generation upgrade plan

SpaceX has secured permission to gradually replace first-generation Starlink satellites with larger spacecraft designed to provide more broadband capacity.

The Federal Communications Commission Aug. 16 modified the license that permits SpaceX to operate up to 4,408 Gen1 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO).

The modification allows SpaceX to deploy upgraded Starlinks under the Gen1 license with technology developed for the company’s second-generation constellation, which has a separate license permitting up to 7,500 more satellites in LEO.

SpaceX has 6,325 Starlink satellites in orbit after beginning its launch campaign in 2019, according to statistics maintained by astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell, including 4,216 Gen1 spacecraft with a design life of around five years.

The company, which has launched more than 6,800 Starlink satellites to date, has also been seeking approval to deploy nearly 30,000 Gen2 Starlinks.

The FCC said its modified license clears the way for Gen1 Starlinks with upgraded beam-forming and digital processing equipment, enabling SpaceX to provide broadband with narrower beams.

According to SpaceX, narrower beams would use the company’s licensed frequencies more efficiently and increase network capacity.

The latest Gen1 Starlinks weigh around 300 kilograms, compared with roughly 800 kilograms for the largest satellites in SpaceX’s current Gen2 network.

SpaceX ultimately plans to deploy Gen2 Starlinks weighing about 2,000 kilograms, once its next-generation Starship rocket is in service.

SpaceX has also proposed deploying larger upgraded Gen1 Starlinks with two potential form factors, one to be launched with Falcon 9 and another that would use Starship.

Dish Network had asked the FCC to reject SpaceX’s license modification request over concerns that the upgraded Gen1 Starlinks could interfere with other communications systems.

The satellite TV broadcaster argued that SpaceX’s use of smaller beams would violate rules governing satellite power limits, which the FCC dismissed.

“With this modification, SpaceX will utilize advanced beam-forming technology, which will allow for narrow, more focused pointing to ground stations,” the FCC said.

“With this more focused capability, SpaceX will be able to better comply with the condition not to communicate in the same frequency with more than one satellite beam to any one area or overlapping areas at a time.”

SpaceX must seek a mutually acceptable agreement with the National Science Foundation to mitigate the impact of its satellites on optical ground-based astronomy, among other conditions tied to the modified license.

Shmuley Boteach, a popular celebrity rabbi filed a complaint with the FBI against Candace Owens on Monday, a controversial figure in conservative media after she seemingly accused him and his daughter of trying to kill her.

“Please let me immediately advise you of a new threat against me and my family, including my daughter Rochel Leah, also a Jewish public figure,” Boteach wrote.

“Yesterday, before more than one million people in a live X feed,” who he called, “arch antisemites,” Candace Owens, “arguably the foremost female Jew-hater in America, accused me of trying to murder her, in collaboration with the world’s Zionists, thereby putting a national target on my back and naming me specifically from all American Jewish leaders,” Boteach wrote to the FBI.

“I need not impress upon you the serious danger that a Jew-hater with a national following places on a defenseless rabbi when she tells her followers that the rabbi is a murderer and plans to have her killed. This is the ultimate blood libel, that Jews are killers and people must therefore kill the Jews first, before they strike,” he wrote in detail.

According to Boteach, Owens, months ago, “insinuated that I killed Michael Jackson. Two days ago, to her 5.5 million X followers, she said that Michael Jackson put me on a list of Jews who were seeking to destroy his life. She outright said that my daughter and I are ‘lying and smearing and libeling and killing.’”

In a video on Sunday, Owens claims that a “Zionist media empire” is shielding criminals and protecting what she describes as a criminal syndicate.

Owens’ rant included several inflammatory statements, such as: “We are existing right now in a Zionist media empire which is working to protect criminals.” She went on to link this so-called syndicate to blackmail and coercion, referencing Hollywood Babylon by Kenneth Anger, which recounts alleged Hollywood scandals from the 1900s to the 1950s.

Owens blames the family for her being fired

The video also accused Rabbi Shmuley and his daughter, Rochel Leah Taktuk, of conducting a two-year harassment campaign against Owens, which she claims led to her being fired from The Daily Wire. “Even when they’re lying and smearing and libeling and killing, they’re victims. Is anyone buying this shit anymore?” Owens concluded, expressing her frustration with what she perceives as a double standard.

Owens’ outburst is part of a troubling trend in her rhetoric over the past year. She has increasingly aligned herself with far-right ideologies and conspiracy theories, previously causing a stir with comments endorsing antisemitic tropes, such as the claim that Jews drink Christian blood. These remarks, along with her harsh criticisms of Israel following the October 7 Hamas attacks, ultimately led to her dismissal from The Daily Wire.

Taktuk told The Jerusalem Post: “Candace Owens lies through her teeth every day, to millions of people – that we Jews kill Catholics on Passover, that we Jews are inherently pedophilic, that we control Hollywood and murder black entertainers, that Zionism is satanic and devilish.”

She added that Owens did say one thing that was true: “I went after her and attacked her ruthlessly for two years straight. I watched as she encouraged, defended, and championed Kanye West for two years as he said that we Jews ‘milk black people until they die,’ that he loves Hitler and Hitler ‘did some good things too.’ In those two years I taught her a lesson she’ll never forget: If you endanger Jewish lives, the Boteachs will come after you.”

As reported by the Post in March, Owens and Boteach were embroiled in a public feud involving accusations of antisemitism, blackmail, and controversy surrounding West. The dispute intensified when Boteach criticized Owens for not condemning West’s antisemitic remarks, leading Owens to claim that Boteach and his daughter had harassed her for years. Owens further accused Boteach of threatening her with public defamation and linked him to a broader narrative involving alleged blackmail rings in Hollywood. In response, Boteach has considered a libel lawsuit against Owens, accusing her of promoting dangerous conspiracy theories and spreading antisemitic rhetoric.

Donald Trump's former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham made an appearance at the Democratic National Convention where she received cheers as she laid into her old boss in scathing speech.

'I saw him when the cameras were off. Behind closed doors, Trump mocks his supporters—calls them “basement dwellers,"' she said. 'When people were dying in the ICU, [Trump] was mad that cameras weren't watching him. He has no empathy. No morals. No fidelity to the truth.'

Grisham told DailyMail.com after her speech that it was 'surreal' to speak at the convention amid thousands of Democrats. 'Everybody's been really welcoming, and so it's been great,' she said. 'I was really scared, I'm not going to lie.' Grisham was chief of staff and press secretary to former First Lady Melania Trump as well as White House press secretary and communications director during the Trump administration. She learned she would be speaking at the convention five days ago, she told DailyMail.com.

After the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, she resigned from the Trump administration. She addressed her decision in her convention speech.'On January 6, I asked Melania if we could at least tweet that while peaceful protest is the right of every American, there’s no place for lawlessness and violence,' Grisham said. 'She replied with one word: “No.”'

'I became the first senior staffer to resign that day. I couldn’t be part of the insanity any longer,' Grisham added. Grisham was one of several Republicans to appear at the Democratic National Convention on night two as the Harris campaign makes a point to reach across the aisle in their effort to eat into the GOP voting base.

The former Trump official spoke about how close she once was with the Republican presidential nominee and his family. 'I wasn’t just a Trump supporter. I was a true believer—one of his closest advisors. The Trump family became my family,' she recalled. 'I spent Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas at Mar-a-Lago.'

Grisham spoke during her speech about how she resigned from the Trump administration after the attack on January 6. She said she would be voting for Kamala Harris saying she 'tells the truth'

'He used to tell me, “It doesn’t matter what you say, Stephanie. Say it enough, and people will believe you.” But it does matter what you say–and what you don’t say,' she told the welcoming crowd.

While serving as White House press secretary, Grisham not once ever held a press briefing. Trump campaign officials blasted her in response to her convention speech.

'That’s one more time at the podium than she logged as White House press secretary, when she didn’t hold a single press briefing while occupying the position,'wrote Tim Murtaugh who worked on the Trump 2020 campaign and recently rejoined the 2024 campaign.

Axiom Space and Nokia partner to develop high-speed wireless communications for spacesuits

Axiom Space is working with Nokia to adapt terrestrial wireless technologies to provide high-speed communications for the Artemis spacesuits Axiom is developing.

The two companies announced a partnership Aug. 21 to develop 4G/LTE communications technologies, called the Lunar Surface Communications System (LSCS), for the suits Axiom is developing for NASA for use starting on the Artemis 3 mission no earlier than late 2026.

The LSCS technology features two major components. One is a “network in a box” that includes a base station, antennas and other systems that will be installed on the Human Landing Services lander that delivers the astronauts to the lunar surface.

The other will be a user module incorporated into Axiom’s suits.

The 4G/LTE communications will provide redundancy for existing links using UHF and Wi-Fi, as well as increased bandwidth.

“From a suit perspective, we like this because it will give us a lot more capability and it gives is a little bit more redundancy in the communications,” said Russell Ralston, Axiom Space executive vice president of extravehicular activity, in an interview.

The integration of that technology into the suits will be seamless from the perspective of the astronauts wearing them, he said, with 4G/LTE being just one option for the astronaut to choose depending on mission requirements.

However, it can enable much greater capabilities, such as the ability to stream high-definition video from cameras on the suit.

“From a scientific perspective, what it means is all of the scientists and geologists supporting the NASA mission in real time will have much better insight into what the crew is seeing,” he said.

In addition, “I think people will connect with the mission a lot more closely when they can see it in such rich detail.”

The system is designed to operate at distances of up to two kilometers from the lander, a requirement set by NASA for the Artemis 3 mission, said Thierry Klein, president of Bell Labs Solutions Research at Nokia.

“But we have tested the system in some configurations on terrestrial demonstrations that go beyond that.”

Nokia will first test its LSCS system on the moon on IM-2, the second robotic lunar lander mission by Intuitive Machines scheduled to launch late this year.

That system will enable communications between the lander and both a rover developed by Lunar Outpost and a “hopper” by Intuitive Machines.

Klein said the success of that mission is not a prerequisite for using LSCS on Axiom’s spacesuits because of upgrades already planned for the future Artemis missions.

“It’s very similar, but it’s not the exact same system,” he said. “Of course, we hope the IM-2 mission will be successful, but if it isn’t, it doesn’t have a direct impact on Artemis.”

Nokia is looking at later upgrades to LSCS to increase its range, particularly for future missions that will have astronauts driving a lunar rover.

The company is also participating in DARPA’s LunA-10 study to examine how communications networks using that technology could enable a commercial lunar economy in the next 10 to 15 years.

Work on incorporate communications technologies into the Axiom suits is funded by a recent $57.5 million task order awarded by NASA as part of the agency’s Exploration Extravehicular Activity Services, or xEVAS, contract.

NASA selected Axiom in September 2022 to develop a spacesuit for Artemis lunar landing missions with an initial xEVAS task order of $228.5 million.

OMB says agencies will shed ‘considerable’ amount of office space in coming years

The Biden administration says federal agencies are getting rid of office space they no longer need, and will shed millions of square feet in the coming years, now that many federal employees are on a hybrid schedule of in-office and work-from-home days.

The Office of Management and Budget, in a sweeping report released earlier this month, said telework-eligible federal employees are working in their offices about 60% of the time.

That hybrid schedule allows agencies to reevaluate their office space needs, and shed excess leased and government-owned real estate.

“While agencies reach more durable, long-term decisions about their telework and work environment posture, they are also considering the impacts of these changes on their real property portfolios,” OMB wrote.

“Agencies have undertaken considerable work to dispose of unneeded property, reduce costs, and improve overall utilization of real estate.”

OMB requested the 24 largest federal agencies provide an update on efforts to reduce their office space portfolio, and provide more details on what steps it’s taking to make better use of their buildings.

In 2023, federal building utilization rates in the Washington, D.C. metro area remained about 30% lower than pre-pandemic rates, by some estimates.

Agencies are telling OMB they’ve already shed hundreds of thousands of square feet of office space, and are planning to shed millions more square feet of space in the coming years.

“It is OMB’s expectation that all agencies will arrive at intentional, competitive, and durable work environments that set agencies up for success in both the short and long-term, and that they appropriately manage their real property portfolio to support those decisions,” the report states.

OMB is also developing occupancy metrics that will require agencies to calculate their average occupancy rates for their buildings.

Lawmakers have demanded this sort of data from agencies, and grown frustrated that this data isn’t more widely available.

HUD plans to give up 60% of its office space

Agencies are proposing different timelines for real estate disposal, and vary on how much office space they’re willing to give up.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development, as an extreme example, plans to eliminate up to 60% of its total office space footprint by 2038.

HUD plans to reduce space for its field office outside the Beltway, and consolidate four D.C. satellite offices into its downtown headquarters building.

“The reductions will achieve a more efficient utilization rate and reduce real estate spending, allowing us to redeploy funds to other higher impact needs,” the report states.

HUD occupies more than 4 million total square feet of space — which covers 80 leased buildings across the country, and four headquarters buildings.

The Energy Department, meanwhile, outlined plans to offload more office building space than any other agency.

The department told OMB it plans to dispose of 3 million square feet of building space through 2027.

Hunter Biden’s federal tax evasion trial will go forward next month — after a California judge tossed the first son’s latest attempt to get the case dismissed.

The trial accusing President Biden’s already felon son will begin Sept. 9 in Los Angeles court. He’s accused of failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes from 2016 to 2019.

Hunter’s legal team askedLos Angeles Judge Mark Scarsito dismiss the three felony and six misdemeanor tax charges he faces on the grounds that David Weiss’ appointment to prosecute the case as special counsel was unconstitutional and Weiss — a Delaware US attorney — doesn’t have jurisdiction to oversee the California case.

The motion promptedScarsi to threaten sanctions against the Biden son’s lawyers for lying about Weiss’ involvementin the probes against Hunter.

Hunter’s attorneys responded by claiming they didn’t intentionally lie but rather misused a single word two times.

Scarsi — who has rejected three prior bids by Hunter to have the case dismissed, including over Weiss’ appointment — canned the latest motion to dismiss on Monday. He said Hunter’s team didn’t raise any new legal issues and that the latest motion comes too late.

Hunter’s team kicked up a fuss about Weiss’ appointment again last month, claiming that a bombshell ruling dismissing the documents case against former President Donald Trump over special counsel Jack Smith’s appointment should apply in Hunter’s case too.

But Scarsi called the Trump ruling “non-binding” — meaning it’s not applicable to this case.

Hunter has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Hunter was separately convicted in June for illegally owning a gun while hooked on drugs and is set to be sentenced on Nov. 13.He faces up to 25 years behind bars in the Delaware case, which Weiss also prosecuted.

A spokesperson for Weiss’ office declined to comment. Hunter’s lawyers didn’t immediately return a request for comment Wednesday.

HOWELL, Mich. — Barron Trump, the youngest member of the Trump family, will attend a university in New York this fall, former President Donald Trump told The Post.

“He’s all set in a certain school that’s very good,” the former president said in an exclusive interview before his campaign stop in Michigan.The 45th president said the school is in the Empire State, but that his team would be making an announcement about the specific school “soon.”

Trump smiled when The Post asked him if it was NYU, but maintained that he would not reveal the school until the announcement is live. “He’s always been a very good student, he’s smart,” he said.

Barron Trump, 18, graduated from high school in May. His father previously said he got into several schools and was making a decision. Trump has said that his 6-foot-7 son takes an interest in politics and even sometimes advises him on what to do.

“He’s a little on the tall side. I will tell you, he’s a tall one, but he is a good-looking guy. And he’s really been a great student. And he does like politics.

It’s sort of funny,” Trump told “Kayal and Company” on Philadelphia’s Talk Radio 1210 WPHT.

“He’ll tell me sometimes, ‘Dad, this is what you have to do,’” Trump said in May.

The former president attended Barron’s graduation at Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach alongside former first lady Melania Trump in May after he got permission to take a break from his “hush money” trial in Manhattan.

The teen was also present at a Trump Florida campaign rally, but did not attend his father’s presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in July after Melania’s office said he had “prior commitments.”

Another member of the Trump family, Donald Trump Jr.’s daughter Kai, also recently announced her university decision, revealing she will be attending the University of Miami.

Universities Are Shifting Away From DEI Initiatives

Back in April, I brought you the story of the University of Texas closing its DEI office. That decision came in the aftermath of a law that the state’s legislature passed requiring universities to shut down diversity departments.

This week, another Southern university is doing the same thing, only the University of Kentucky is giving its DEI office the heave-ho in anticipation of what the Bluegrass State’s legislature may do next year. The move won’t result in job losses because the university is restructuring the office and moving it into another department to tackle different initiatives.

“The action on the Lexington, Kentucky, campus comes after state lawmakers debated whether to limit diversity, equity, and inclusion practices at public universities,” reports the Associated Press. “Republican supermajorities in the Kentucky House and Senate were unable to resolve differences on the issue before ending this year’s session in April, but the matter has been expected to resurface when lawmakers reconvene early next year.”

University President Eli Capilouto wrote a campuswide email announcing the decision. He said that reassigning the DEI department to other priorities safeguards academic freedom while maintaining a “sense of belonging” for students and faculty.

“But we’ve also listened to policymakers and heard many of their questions about whether we appear partisan or political on the issues of our day and, as a result, narrowly interpret things solely through the lens of identity,” Capilouto wrote. “In so doing, the concern is that we either intentionally or unintentionally limit discourse. I hear many of those concerns reflected in discussions with some of our students, faculty, and staff across our campus.”

“In outlining the restructuring at UK, the university will not mandate centralized diversity training at the college or unit level, Capilouto said,” the AP reports. “It won’t place required diversity statements in hiring and application processes, he said, and websites will be free of political positions to ensure impartiality.”

Meanwhile, nearly 800 miles away, the University of Nebraska is also doing away with its DEI offices. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Rodney Bennett announced the decision in a letter. There’s another twist to Bennett’s decision; he’s the first black person to hold the office of chancellor at the University of Nebraska.

“I fully grasp the weight of this decision and its implications, but a centralized approach to this work is no longer right for our institution,” Bennett wrote. He said that the university will shift its goal of “supporting and building a sense of community and belonging” to other departments.

“It is incumbent on each of us to foster a welcoming environment for all members of our community,” he wrote.

Bennett became chancellor last year, and his predecessor spoke out against the state legislature’s intent to enact legislation to ban university DEI departments last year. The legislative effort failed.

We’ve seen corporations shifting away from DEI, and universities are beginning to make similar moves. Hopefully, it won’t take long for DEI to become a relic of the past.

FBI investigates how maggots got into DNC breakfast

CHICAGO — A revolting surprise greeted Democratic convention-goers Wednesday when maggots were found during a hotel breakfast service — and the FBI is now investigating the apparent activism-related incident.

“We can confirm that a group of individuals caused a disruption at a DNC-related breakfast event at our hotel this morning,” Fairmont Chicago hotel spokesperson Haley Robles told WGN-TV.

Although it was not immediately clear who was responsible, maggots were released last month at the Watergate Hotel in Washington in protest of the visiting delegation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

A Chicago city spokesperson said: “Multiple unknown female offenders are alleged to have entered a building (200 block of North Columbus Drive) and began placing unknown objects onto tables containing food. The offenders are believed to have then left the area. One victim was treated and released on-scene. Along with CPD, FBI-Chicago is assisting in the investigation. No further information is available at this time.”
